Swann is surprised by him saying that, saying he still has it in him and that it took everything to get to where he is now. Swann tells Alexander that he hopes he knows that he is coming into a fight, as he is expecting a fight from Alexander over the Impact World Championship, as it has been two years since he has had a title opportunity. He says he will bust his ass, and when he wins, it will not be because Alexander took his eye off the ball, but because he has it in him. Steve Maclin then shows up and says he is winning the #1 contender's match and that he does not care who has the title. When Maclin calls Swann a choke artist, Swann attacks him, and security has to break them apart.

Deaner says Step 5 explains that The Design is a covenant, not a contract, and that Step 5 is also about maintaining loyalty to The Design. When asked if he will still be loyal to The Design, Callihan says yes. Deaner says this is the right choice and that Callihan has made it further than he thought he would, then tells him he still has two deadly steps left. Deaner then tells Callihan that The Design chooses him, not the other way around.
