AEW pays tribute to Jay Briscoe.
Darby Allin retains the TNT Championship against Buddy Matthews. During the match, the lights go out, and Malakai Black and Brody King are on the ramp when they come back on. Ortiz shows up and hits Brody in the back with a Kendo stick, and Sting joins in on the attack with a baseball bat to Malakai. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Darby Allin in the ring. Before Darby can say anything, Samoa Joe appears on the video screen and says that Darby stole the TNT Championship from him and that he will take everything from him. He says that the TNT Championship may feel comfortable and right around Darby, but he is coming back to take what is his and that he will not be usurped by Darby, and that Darby will learn that beating him for the title will be the greatest mistake of his life.
We hear from Adam Cole, who talks about being back in AEW for the first time in a long time and that he will sleep easy knowing that he is back in an AEW ring and that there is a new locker room for him to tangle with.
Before the next match, "All Ego" Ethan Page says that he has given the Twist of Fate back to Jeff Hardy as he complains about Jeff's music being played, then Stokely Hathaway has Isiah Kassidy give him his gold chain back.

We see the "family therapy" between The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) and The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn). Austin say that "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn was never there for them and Colton says they should have been tag team champions with him, but Anthony Bowens says The Gunns could not hide their jealousy the second Billy gave them attention. Max Caster says that The Gunns cannot do what they do, but Colten Gunn says that they had to step in when Anthony Bowens was in a wheelchair. Billy Gunn butts in and says he gets all the points, but this needs to be resolved. Colten says that their faults as sons came from Billy's faults as a father, and when Billy asks The Gunns what they want, The Gunns make it clear that they want the tag team titles.
Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Hangman" Adam Page. Page says that the more he looks forward, the more he cannot help but look back. He says he would like to try the impossible and knock out Jon Moxley. Wheeler Yuta shows up and says it will be impossible, then says that Jon Moxley will be cleared by next week, before challenging him to a match on Rampage for running his mouth so much about a man who is not medically cleared. Page asks Yuta what makes him think what happened to Moxley will not happen to him, then accepts.
"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson beats "The Machine" Brian Cage after countering a third powerbomb into a Sunset Flip stack-up pin. After the match, Cage hits Danielson with Weapon X, then MJF shows up, throws the ring bell off the timekeeper's table, shoves the timekeeper and hands Cage a chair. Cage wraps the chair around Danielson's left arm, then sends him arm-first into the ring post. Cage then gets Danielson in the ring, when MJF presses his foot against Danielson's arm before hitting Danielson with mounted punches. Cage then wraps a chair around Danielson's left arm again, and MJF is about to jump from the middle rope when Konosuke Takeshita runs in and fights Brian Cage. MJF retreats as Takeshita gets the upper hand.
Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Doc Samson and "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. Samson says his shoulder is not looking good, but Danielson says he has wrestled 60 minutes with a separated shoulder and that nobody will stop him from wrestling. He says that fear is what is really behind MJF's mask, because MJF is afraid of being exposed and afraid of losing the AEW World Championship, then says that he will show that there is a fraud behind the mask and that he should be world champion.
Ruby Soho beats Toni Storm following the distraction from Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (It was announced this morning that Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. is injured, changing what was originally a triple threat match including Baker into a one-on-one match on the day of the show.)
Backstage, we hear from MJF. He says that unlike the fans, he has taste, and that while Konosuke Takeshita is talented, he is dumb enough to dance with the devil. He says Takeshita cannot handle his tempo and tells him to stay out of his business or face the consequences. He also says that while Bryan Danielson is obsessed with being the best, he is obsessed with being world champion, and that the world title is the only reason he gets out of bed as it makes his work worth it and the only thing that makes him feel whole. He says that Danielson wants to take from him because he does not have enough, then says tonight is the tip of the iceberg and that if Danielson continues, he will inflict mental pain upon him. MJF then says that he has hand-picked Danielson's next opponent: Timothy Thatcher.
