Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for January 7, 2023

Dustin Starr interviews "The GunShow" Brett Michaels at the announce desk. He says it is a whole different year and that Episode 100 is coming soon, and that he will make that milestone count with a contract for a Memphis Heritage Championship match against Mike Anthony, which he has signed. He places the contract in Dustin Starr's jacket pocket and asks him to make sure it goes to the right person and gets the right signature, because Mike Anthony's ass is his on Episode 100.

The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) beat The Hot Shots (Ethan Ross and Ray Collins). After the match, Simon says that he and Mr. Chris have ruined everyone's Christmas, and while Derrick King and Ray Ray Sanders may be good, they are not The Posse and they have the worst Christmas present of all: a match with them. Mr. Chris says the only real royalty around here are them, not Derrick King.

Dustin Starr interviews The Hollywood Clique at the announce desk. "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock says tells "Casanova" Colton Cage to do better next time and be more like Van Viciouss as he says everyone makes mistake, then makes fun of Dustin Starr's hair before guaranteeing the Clique will win the Grind City Rumble. He says that Van Viciouss is a winner and that women and fans hound him all the time, then says he has somebody in the back that he wants to bring out who will guarantee that they will win the Grind City Rumble, and it is Adamas Vain. Blaylock says Adamas Vain is big, huge and dangerous, and that he is now in The Hollywood Clique.

Nyxx vs. "Dirty" Diana Taylor ends in a no-contest after Mackenzie Morgan shows up, attacks "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, then attacks Diana Taylor.

We hear from K-Toomer, who says what's understood doesn't need to be explained, then says this year's Grind City Rumble is his, and when his music hits, he will hit the ring and everyone will get served a plate from the buffet.

We look back on hip hop artist Al Kapone's appearance on Memphis Wrestling.

K-Toomer last eliminates Ben Bishop to win a Road To The Rumble over-the-top-rope battle royal.

We look back on Mike Anthony winning the Memphis Wrestling Heritage Championship.

Dustin Starr interviews Mike Anthony at the announce desk. Mike Anthony says he is normally all over the place, spitting out of his mouth and yelling, but right now, he is cool, calm and collected. He says it has been over a year, and that "The GunShow" Brett Michaels is the prey and he is the predator. He asks if Bret and the fans want proof, then signs the contract before looking dead at the camera and yelling.

Zay Washington beats "The Problem Child" Aaron Roberts in a hair vs. hair match after Roberts tries to hit Washington with a chain wrapped around his hand only for Washington to nail him in the forehead with a spray paint can. After the match, Justin Case attacks Zay Washington from behind, then Roberts powerbombs Washington on the apron. Roberts then tries to cut Washington's hair, and a kid tries to stop Roberts. Roberts has to cut a bit of Washington's hair off with scissors when the razor does not work.
