Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for January 4, 2023

"Absolute" Ricky Starks beats Chris Jericho despite the interference attempts by "Cool Hand" Angelo Parker and "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard. After the match, the rest of The Jericho Appreciation Society runs into the ring to attack Starks, but Action Andretti shows up with a chair and starts laying The Jericho Appreciation Society out. Anna Jay soon takes his chair, and Tay Melo hits Andretti with a low blow. The Jericho Appreciation Society soon gang up on Action Andretti, and they soon put him through a table.

Tony Schiavone interviews "Hangman" Adam Page in the ring. When asked if he can go in the ring, Page says that as of today, he is not medically cleared to compete, and that it will set him back one more week if he gets in another fight tonight or on Friday. Page says he wants next week's match, and if he gets one more good test, he will get it and he will fight Jon Moxley and knock his dick in the dirt. Jon Moxley shows up. Moxley says he is sick and tired of all the sympathy Page is being given, then says nobody has been knocked down more and gone through more stuff than him and that the sympathy makes him sick. Page says he is not mad at Moxley for knocking him out, as he has been knocked out more times than he can count, but he is mad about how Moxley called him out and did not let him get a word in before making a joke about ending his career. He says that Moxley made that joke because he felt threatened, and while he was not there for revenge that night, he is here for it now. He says that he has "two in the chamber" with his name on it and he will deliver them next week. He says that Moxley made that joke because he felt threatened, and while he was not there for revenge that night, he is here for it now. He says that he has "two in the chamber" with his name on it and he will deliver them next week.

We see a video package for Darby Allin vs. Samoa Joe for the TNT Championship later tonight.

Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett beat The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) to become the AEW World Tag Team Champions...almost. Near the end of the match, as referees are trying to eject Satnam Singh for throwing Max Caster into the ring steps, Sonjay Dutt pushes Anthony Bowens' foot off the rope to give Lethal and Jarrett the titles, but referee Aubrey Edwards shows up and tells match referee Stephon Smith what has happened. This restarts the match, and when Jay Lethal tries to use the ropes for leverage, his feet get shoved off, and Bowens rolls Lethal up to win. The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Jamie Hayter and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. Britt Baker says Saraya does not get what AEW is and what it means to them and their fans and family. She says she and Jamie had rocky beginnings, but they have made their way to the top, and no matter who Saraya has as a partner, she has the best with her. Britt Baker then reminds Saraya that Jamie "is the killer," and that she "is the pillar."

We hear from "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry, who says that he thought he had nobody to depend on, but he spoke too soon. He says Big Bill and Lee Moriarty are starting to become a problem, and for one night only, he and Hook will take care of business.

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson beats "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese with the Lebell Lock after kicking Nese's head in. After the match, Danielson says it great to be home, then says he is feeling a little froggy and that he is ready for another fight. He then calls out MJF. MJF shows up and refuses to face Danielson in the ring, as he says he does not get his rocks off by putting his body on the line for the fans, and that he gets a big, fat check in the mail whether he wrestles or not. He admits that the fans love Danielson and chant his name week after week and that Danielson is a pretty solid wrestler, then says that if Lance Storm and Dean Malenko had a kid, it would be more charismatic than Danielson. He says that looking like a goat does not make one the greatest of all time, and that he would not be shocked if 1981 if his mother couldn't find a human suitor. Danielson counters by saying MJF's mom has had enough human suitors to fill the entire arena. MJF says he is the best in the world, not Danielson, and asks who died and made Danielson the king of wrestling, then says he has been declared the best by people who have actually been in the business. Danielson tells MJF to shut up, as everyone has heard the spiel a million times, then says he hates MJF and it is time to fight. MJF backs off as Danielson exits the ring and tells Danielson he is trying to smarten him up. He says that this is pro wrestling, not play wrestling, and that wins and losses matter, and if he wants a shot at him, he has to become #1 contender. MJF says he knew Danielson would stick his nose in his business and that he talked to Tony Khan, who says that if Danielson can win every week from now until February 8th, he can become #1 contender. MJF says he will keep his end of the bargain, and says that if he can do that, he will give him a title shot at Revolution. Danielson says he will do things his way, but MJF threatens to sic "Smart" Mark Sterling on him. Danielson says Sterling is a terrible lawyer, then humors MJF by entertaining his "cute little stipulation" on the condition that he can make a stipulation for their match. MJF agrees, and Danielson puts his talents to the test by making the match a 60-minute Iron man Match. An angry MJF tells Danielson he is on, then says Danielson will not make it past the first week because he has been a choke artist since he has been here. Danielson says he will run through every single opponent that MJF puts in front of him from now until February 8th, and when they have their Iron Man Match, he will expose MJF as not being good enough to come out every single week. He then says that when he exposes MJF, he will put the final nail in the coffin and kick his head in.

We see a video package for Kip Sabian vs. Orange Cassidy for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship at Battle of the Belts V.

Swerve Strickland beats AR Fox following the interference of The Mogul Affiliates (Parker Boudreaux and ???).

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Toni Storm, Saraya and Hikaru Shida. Saraya says Britt Baker is trying to gatekeep the women's division while they are trying to improve it, and Toni Storm says she was screwed out of the Women's World Championship. Saraya says she has learned so much about AEW since she showed up and that she is sitting next to the best wrestler in the world, then says Storm will be her tag team partner, much to the surprise of Shida.

The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn) show up to hold a mock funeral for FTR's (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) career. Colten says FTR had "a hell of a year" after travelling the world and winning tag team championships around the world, and Austin says that as 2022 came to an end, as after he and Colten beat them, they lost all their titles and started a podcast that nobody listens to. After stating that he and Colten destroyed FTR's 10-year legacy in ten minutes, they hold a minute of silence before FTR's theme hits, then Austin and Colten Gunn laugh when they fail to show up. Austin then says FTR can wrestle anywhere in the world, but they can never wrestle in AEW again after what he and Colten did to them.

The Baddies (Jade Cargill and Red Velvet) beat Kiera Hogan and Skye Blue despite Red Velvet not wanting to play ball with Jade Cargill.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh. Jeff Jarrett says that they are guaranteed to become tag team champions on Friday.
