Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown Live recap for November 13, 2018

It is announced that Becky Lynch will not be able to compete at Survivor Series due to a broken face and a severe concussion last night following a right hand by Nia Jax. It is also announced Becky is here tonight.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles shows up. He talks about his match against Brock Lesnar on Sunday, and how he has defended the WWE Championship against the best WWE has to offer for more than a year. He says he has been a workhorse and has faced both dream opponents and opponents who have threatened his family, and he has defeated all but one: Brock Lesnar. Sunday, he gets another chance, and he plans to do more than just survive. Suddenly, Paul Heyman is seen tormenting ring announcer Greg Hamilton, and Styles tells Greg to give Heyman the microphone. Heyman introduces himself, and announces he is here to make it clear that Heyman will tear Styles apart. After saying that Brock Lesnar will never face Daniel Bryan, he still considers it an honor and a privilege to have the best seat in the house this Sunday when Lesnar faces the second-best performer in WWE history. Styles says he knows Heyman is trying to get under his skin, but he has always had respect for Daniel Bryan and he did not just beat him, he made him submit. He also remembers Lesnar beating him in their first encounter, and while he walked out with his head held high, Lesnar limped out of the building, proving him vulnerable. In the last 371 days, he has been better at making people tap out and Lesnar is more vulnerable. After mentioning his two options - a pinfall or a submission - he says that Sunday is all about him. Suddenly, Daniel Bryan shows up. Daniel says he is not quite sure why his name has come up, and while he and Styles had their WWE Championship match two weeks ago and can admit defeat there, he told Styles he respected him and he meant that, but he also is looking for a reason to punch him in the face. He says that he meant that too, and if his name is mentioned for no reason, he will punch him in the face. Daniel tries to leave, but Styles reminds him that it was Heyman who mentioned him to begin with, and asks if this means he can't put him on a pedestal. This starts a brawl between Styles and Daniel, and Commissioner Shane McMahon, referees and officials rush into separate both men.

Backstage, Daniel Bryan and Commissioner Shane McMahon are arguing when "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles shows up followed by numerous referees. Shane announces right then and there that the WWE Championship is on the line. It is then announced before the next match begins that Styles will be defending the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan tonight.

Jeff Hardy beats Andrade "Cien" Almas.

Backstage, The Miz and General Manager Paige are watching the show on a television. Paige tells Miz that Daniel Bryan is no longer co-captain and that he will have to replace him. Backstage, Miz announces that not only is The marine 6 now available on DVD and Blu-Ray, but that Jeff Hardy is on the blue brand's men's team this Sunday after his victory against Andrade "Cien" Almas, while Rey Mysterio - who is here with Samoa Joe - is off the team because he "reeks of Daniel Bryan." Paige says she makes the rules around here, and Rey and Miz will face off to take that slot. She also announces that this match is next.

Backstage, Dasha Fuentes interviews Shinsuke Nakamura, who is currently looking about an iPhone. Nakamura says that last night, Rollins said he wasn't thinking of him, and it broke his heart. Nakamura, however, has Seth Rollins on his mind, and since Seth Rollins broke his heart, he will break his face on Sunday.

Rey Mysterio beats The Miz with a surprise crucifix pin to stay on the SmackDown Live men's team at Survivor Series. After the match, Randy Orton tries to sneak attack Rey, but Rey dodges. Randy Orton bumps into The Miz and hits him with an RKO instead.

Extra security is employed at every entrance backstage in case the Raw roster decides to invade tonight's show.

We get a sneak peek at USA Network's new country music competition show, Real Country.

General Manager Paige is in the ring. She asks the entire SmackDown Live women's team to head to the ring right now. Paige mentions Becky Lynch's injury and announces that Becky is medically unable to compete. She then mentions that Becky Lynch will now pick her replacement. Becky says she is angry right now, as she took a good beating last night and it has never stopped her before. Unfortunately, the medical team will not clear her to fight and she has run out of time. She goes on to say she had a taste of blood when she beat up half the Raw women's locker room, and the Dis-Arm-Her from last night was a taste of what she was going to do to "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey, and says she can still kick Ronda's ass in her current state. She apologizes for not being able to finish what she started yet, as Ronda isn't the baddest woman on the planet; instead, she is the luckiest. Becky then proceeds to pick her replacement, then looks at all of the women in the ring. She then walks back to Charlotte Flair and picks her as her replacement, then they both hug.

Backstage, Dasha Fuentes interviews Charlotte Flair. Charlotte says she has spent half her career fighting against Becky. Last night, she fought with her; tonight, she fights for Becky. She says it will be an honor when she beats "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey to prove SmackDown Live is better.

The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro) and Big Show beat The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods).

Backstage, The Usos hand SmackDown Live shirts to Primo and Epico, Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson), and SAnitY (Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe and Eric Young). These three teams round out the blue brand's 10-on-10 match team.

Daniel Bryan beats "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles to become the WWE Champion, ending Styles' reign at 371 days. During the match, Styles goes for a Phenomenal Forearm, but accidentally nails referee Charles Robinson. Daniel Bryan then kicks Styles in the groin, then hits the running knee to win the title. After the match, Daniel Bryan stomps Styles' head into the mat with a crazed look in his eyes, signalling a heel turn.

Here are the top 10 moments from tonight's show!
