Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown Live recap for November 7, 2017

Commissioner Shane McMahon shows up to start tonight's show. Shane McMahon hypes up Survivor Series again, and says that after that event, Raw will never call them the B-show again. Despite the two brands going head-to-head like last year, this year is personal after the attacks between the brands. Shane tells Raw General Manager Kurt Angle he will stand across from him in the ring and get revenge on what happened to General Manager Daniel Bryan, who will be back next week. Shane says D-Bry resembles everything the locker room is, and says if they get knocked down, they will not stay down. Shane then brings out three Superstars who he calls the definition of fight: The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods). Kofi says it was not their intention for The Shield to lose the Raw tag team titles, but "such are the consequences for putting Raw under siege." Xavier Woods then asks what they are going to do until The New Day says Raw will do nothing. Big E says Shane led the stage and they looked Raw in the eye and beat them down. Kofi says they are ready for the consequences of their action, and Woods says they will be the ones to beat Raw back to Mondays. After Shane tells them they are the guys he wants, he says "because." This leads to a New Day dance. Suddenly, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn show up, and Owens says he is not impressed. Sami Zayn tells Shane McMahon that he is not cool, and that he should never, ever dance again. Kofi notes the irony in Sami Zayn telling Shane how to dance, saying he looks like a fool during his entrance. Owens says Shane has a hard time dealing with the fact that he beat him at Hell In A Cell, and tells him not to punish the blue brand for his shortcomings. Sami says he and Owens could have showed up and beat the entire Raw roster if they wanted to, but they are men of honor. Since this doesn't jive with Shane, though, he set them up to fail. Shane says Sami's attitude is why he and Owens are not leading SmackDown Live. Sami says he lost to a low blow, not Randy Orton, and Shane did nothing to do fix that, saying if they did a low blow, they would be fined or worse. When Owens is reminded by Shane of his loss to "The Artist" Shinsuke Nakamura, Owens says it is ridiculous he and Sami were in qualifying matches in the first place. He wants to know if Shane wants them to be like his "New Day puppets." Kofi says the only puppet he sees is Sami Zayn, and Big E says that when Kevin Owens brushes his teeth - which isn't that often - Sami gets a manicure. Sami Zayn says he will find it funny when Team Raw beats Team SmackDown and the blue brand will have nobody to blame but Shane McMahon. Shane accuses Sami and Owens of having no brand loyalty and acting entitled, and says Sami is entitled to a match tonight against Kofi Kingston...and it's next.

Kofi Kingston beats Sami Zayn. After the match, Owens gets in the ring and attacks Kofi, but Big E and Xavier Woods chase him out of the ring.

Renee Young interviews Jinder Mahal. Jinder Mahal states that earlier today, he was dining with Manchester, England's elite. He asks the server to call the first course "AJ Styles" to keep his focus. Jinder says Styles has disrespected him time and time again. Tonight, he will feast on him before feasting on Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.

We see another vignette for The Bludgeon Brothers (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan).

Aiden English introduces Rusev through song before the next match.

Randy Orton beats Rusev, keeping Rusev out of the fifth slot on SmackDown Live's men's team. Commissioner Shane McMahon, Bobby Roode and "The Artist" Shinsuke Nakamura are seen watching the match from backstage.

James Ellsworth is outside of the women's locker room when Tamina comes out. Ellsworth asks for Carmella. Tamina goes back in. Becky Lynch shows up. Becky tells James that he should be worried about him. James Ellsworth says the Women's Revolution is a farce and that she would be the first one hiding behind him. Ellsworth says this is "Man-chester" and that a woman should not be in the ring. He says he lets Carmella wrestle because it makes her happy, and he will prove men are better. Becky says those are "pretty ballsy statements," and then says it is too bad that he doesn't have any.

We see a video package documenting the recent happenings in the war between Raw and SmackDown Live.

Lana, Naomi, Tamina and Charlotte Flair are all on different sides of the ring for the next match.

Becky Lynch beats James Ellsworth in a comedic inter-gender match with a Dis-Arm-Her. After the match, Carmella gets in the ring and teases going at it with Becky Lynch, then she superkicks James Ellsworth, turning on him.

Commissioner Shane McMahon is talking with Charlotte Flair when Natalya shows up. Natalya says she knows why she is in Shane's office, and says she will beat Alexa Bliss and take Charlotte's place on Team SmackDown. Shane says that is not quite it, and mentions that Natalya used a chair to escape at Hell In A Cell. Next week, she will be defending the SmackDown Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair. Whoever wins this match - and the title - will face Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series. Natalya says this is unfair, and asks how many chances Charlotte is going to get.

Before the next match, The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) claim that Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin will not take their tag team titles, and call them "American Alpha Part 2." They then say that Benjamin and Gable are their next victims and welcome them to the Uso Penitentiary, then attack them before the bell rings.

Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable beat The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) by count-out after Gable hits Jey Uso with a chop block, hurting his knee and causing him to be unable to get back in the ring. The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) retain the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

It is announced that Luke Harper will guest star on the USA original series Damnation, and we see a preview of Harper's guest spot.

Renee Young interviews "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. He says Jinder Mahal will learn portion control, and to not take him likely. He says that people have taken him lightly throughout his life, and he has won because of that. He will show Jinder why he is phenomenal and why SmackDown Live is the house that he built. At Survivor Series, he will become the beastmaster and slay Brock Lesnar.

Next week: Sin Cara vs. Baron Corbin for the WWE United States Championship! The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn!

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles beats Jinder Mahal to become the WWE Champion for a second time! After the match, Jinder Mahal is angry with The Singh Brothers, and he beats up both of them for failing him. For the first time, the WWE Championship has changed hands outside of the United States, and it is the first time the WWE Championship has changed hands on SmackDown Live since the Iron Man Match between Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle in 2003.

Here are the top 10 moments from tonight's show!
