Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown Live recap for November 14, 2017

The show begins with Commissioner Shane McMahon leading a meeting with the blue brand roster. He wants everyone to be on the same page in case of a red brand retaliation. After Sunday, they will be the dominant brand, and instead of "the B-show," they will be "the show." Becky Lynch says the only thing that will be broken on Sunday is Asuka's arm. Sin Cara and Baron Corbin have a match to decide who will be United States Champion. Corbin says Miz is living on borrowed time and that he will soon see the End of Days. Shane then mentions the sudden replacement of Triple H into Team Raw, but says they are ready and over the top now that they have John Cena on their men's squad. Shane says that this Sunday, they will be the survivors and their champions will dominate, and nobody will be able to stop them now...not Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle or The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns). The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) mention The Shield's challenge, which they have accepted, because SmackDown rocks.

General Manager Daniel Bryan shows up. Daniel Bryan says it is good to be back, and after what happened to him a few weeks ago, in one piece. He says it was his fault when he showed up alone, but he - and SmackDown Live - do not stay down. He says that the blue brand will get back up and hit twice as hard. As a result, the red brand is afraid and have added Triple H to their men's team. He also says Raw is embarrassed, as they ransacked Raw before their 25th anniversary. He does not agree with this action as he knows how vindictive Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon can be, but regardless, SmackDown Live is ready for anything, and that is why he bleeds blue. Daniel Bryan says on Sunday that SmackDown Live will prove they are the dominant brand on Sunday. He then mentions that things can change in a week, and announces the addition of John Cena's to the blue brand's men's team before introducing the new WWE Champion, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, who shows up. Before AJ can say anything, Daniel Bryan stops him and says that SmackDown plans to treat its champions as well as Raw does theirs. He asks AJ Styles if he wants his own personal advocate. The crowd chants yes, then AJ Styles then says yes. Daniel Bryan then introduces himself much like Paul Heyman does, and names himself the personal advocate of "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles for one night. Daniel Bryan mentions Paul Heyman's five selling points for Survivor Series, but disagrees with the last point being that Styles will be destroyed by Brock Lesnar on Sunday. He can see why Paul Heyman agrees with that point. He says Brock Lesnar is a big man, but he has a thick head and a tendency to quit, saying he tapped out to "a half-assed knee bar on a UFC show." Daniel goes on to say that Lesnar quits as soon as he is pushed into deep water, and says Styles will push Lesnar into those deep waters. He says a man as big as Lesnar can last in deep water for 10 minutes before he starts to get tired and eventually quits. He says Lesnar may be big and strong, but he cannot go all night long or keep up with AJ Styles. Daniel Bryan gives one reason to watch Survivor Series as opposed to Heyman's five: seeing a beast like Brock Lesnar beaten, victimized and conquered by the best in-ring competitor of this generation. Styles then says he can talk as he is not a puppet like Brock Lesnar. He admits he is the underdog, but he would not have it any other way, and tells Heyman this isn't a Rocky movie; this is an AJ Styles production. Styles says he will find a way to win and prove that SmackDown is not only the better brand, but the house that AJ Styles built.

"The Phenonemal" AJ Styles runs into Jinder Mahal backstage. Jinder tells Styles that Brock Lesnar tearing him limb from limb will be nothing compared to taking the WWE Championship back from him.

Baron Corbin retains the WWE United States Championship against Sin Cara and goes on to face The Miz at Survivor Series.

The Charlotte Hornets are seen in the front row.

We see a video package of the events of last night's Raw.

Commissioner Shane McMahon talks with General Manager Daniel Bryan, and thanks him for his support. Daniel Bryan tells Shane they need to talk about being on the same page after not letting him in on the raid on Raw before it happened, then simply tells him he will see him on Sunday.

Charlotte Flair beats Natalya with the Figure Eight to become the WWE SmackDown Women's Champion, making her the first woman in WWE history to win the NXT, Divas, Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships. After the match, Renee Young interviews Charlotte Flair. She says she has worked hard to win the SmackDown Women's title, and to win it in her hometown means everything. The crowd chants "You deserve it." At Survivor Series, she will walk into the ring and make Alexa Bliss back down to the queen, as there was a queen of Raw before there was a goddess and she will win for Team Blue. She then mentions the recent troubles her father "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair has had as of late, but he is watching the show tonight from home. She tells him that this win is for him. Suddenly, as Charlotte leaves, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair suddenly shows up and celebrates the win with Charlotte on the stage.

We see another vignette for The Bludgeon Brothers (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan), who re-debut next week.

Before the next match, The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) says it came between two teams both this year and last year. They make fun of Sheamus and Cesaro, then say that this Sunday, their competition will be locked down like the rest.

Jimmy Uso beats Chad Gable following the successful distraction from Jey Uso.

Backstage, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn talk in the locker room. Sami says they are not on Survivor Series, and Owens says it is because Shane has something against them. Owens says there is nobody better than them, and that the only show that matters is the Sami and Kevin Show.

Before the next match, Xavier Woods hypes up Survivor Series. Kofi says The New Day will compete against The Shield, and Big E says in-between The Shield's members have 13 title reigns, while within The New Day is 27 (most of them from Kofi). Kofi wonders why anyone would want to associate with a dog who eats their own poop when unicorns bring magic upon the earth. He then says the difference between The New Day and The Shield is that The New Day can trust each other while The Shield has broken up in the past. Xavier Woods predicts The Shield will have broken up come WrestleMania while The New Day is still together, and Big E says that when Survivor Series rolls around, they will still survive because they rock.

The New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn ends in a no-contest. During the match, The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) show up in half-Raw, half-Shield shirts, and everyone involved in the match stands their ground as The Shield surrounds the ring. Owens and Sami then roll out of the ring, leaving The New Day high and dry as The Shield go on the attack. The Usos run in to help The New Day. Sheamus and Cesaro then run in through the crowd and get involved, then Raw's Women's team invades the women's locker room and go to town on the blue brand's women's roster. Charlotte is left for last, as Alexa Bliss lays her out with one punch while the rest of Raw's women's team surround her. Meanwhile, more of the Raw roster runs into the ring and gang up on The New Day. SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon runs in with members of the SmackDown roster, and this leads to an all-out brawl between both brands. Suddenly, Raw Commissioner Kurt Angle shows up and brings out Braun Strowman, who goes on a one-man destruction spree against anyone on Team SmackDown. Shane McMahon tries to fight Braun Strowman, but Strowman lays him out. The Shield then get their hands on SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon, then proceed to decimate him in a three-on-one assault where other members of the Raw roster get a few shots in on Shane. The Shield then hold Shane down for Kurt Angle, who asks him how it feels and tells him that if he thinks this bad to wait until Sunday. He gives a thumbs up, followed by a thumbs down, signalling the signature Shield three-man powerbomb. Kurt Angle, The Shield and Braun Strowman stand before Shane, who then lays on the mat. Angle then puts Shane in the Angle Slam. The Shield then puts Shane through one more three-man powerbomb before Kurt Angle is the lone man standing over Shane. The Raw roster then stands at the stage to end the show.
