Layin' da SmackDown 900 - SmackDown Live recap for November 15, 2016

During the pre-show, Becky Lynch says that Alexa Bliss will continue to make excuses for losing to her, but if she wants another shot at the SmackDown Women's title, she's more than welcome to it.

During the pre-show, Booker T reports from the arena. He has had a chance to talk to General Manager Daniel Bryan and Commissioner Shane McMahon, who says that tonight will be a special show with the return of Edge with The Cutting Edge with Shane as special guests as well as the return of The Undertaker.

The intro to tonight's show contains some classic SmackDown moments.

Commissioner Shane McMahon and General Manager Daniel Bryan start tonight's show. They announce a special edition of The Cutting Edge hosted by Edge, as well as The Undertaker's first appearance on SmackDown since 2012. Suddenly, The Miz and Maryse show up as soon as they announce tonight's Intercontinental Championship match, which starts right now.

The Miz beats Dolph Ziggler to become the WWE Intercontinental Champion for the sixth time after Maryse pushes Dolph Ziggler's roll-up pinfall away from the ring to get The Miz on top allowing him the win. During the match, The Spirit Squad (Kenny and Mikey) also tried to interfere.

We look back at Episode 36 from August 27, 2000, when "Stone Cold" Steve Austin blew up the DX Express.

Alexa Bliss gives General Manager Daniel Bryan video proof that her foot was on the rope during her SmackDown Women's title match against Becky Lynch. Daniel Bryan tells her the referee's decision is final, and tells her she will get her rematch. Natalya shows up to play coach, and makes a Chumbawumba reference, which does not impress Alexa. Natalya then asks what a Chumbawumba is.

Kalisto quickly beats Oney Lorcan.

We look back at Episode 1 from August 26, 1999, when Triple H and The Rock fought for the WWF Championship.

Heath Slater has brought a motivational speaker for the tag team division: King Booker. Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) show up to try to ruin the proceedings, but King Booker shuts them down, sneezes in their silk shirt after telling them to dress like champions and not rejects from Pirates of the Caribbean, and makes them wear the blue SmackDown Live shirts.

We look back to Episode 149 from June 27, 2002 - the debut of John Cena.

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella ends when Nikki Bella fights Charlotte at ringside. During the match, Charlotte is seen in the stands with a ticket to the show in her stands, teasing a Raw takeover of SmackDown Live. When Nikki Bella notices her during the match, she pulls her out of front row and attacks her, but the rest of Team Raw (Sahsa Banks, Bayley, Nia Jax, Alicia Fox) show up to beat up Nikki. Carmella trie to attack Nikki but gets beat up herself. The rest of Team SmackDown Live (Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch) rush in to even the odds, and after a rough 5-on-5 brawl, Team SmackDown Live stands tall.

The team of Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Chad Gable, Jason Jordan, Tyler Breeze, Fandango, Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley beats the team of Thrasher, Mosh, Konnor, Viktor, Kenny, Mikey, Aiden English and Simon Gotch.

It's time for The Cutting Edge with Edge, who now has long hair again as well as a beard. He brings out Team SmackDown Live: AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, James Ellsworth, Shane McMahon, Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. Edge shakes Ellsworth's hand, and Ellsworth wants to do a five-second pose, but AJ Styles is against it and tells Edge that nobody cares about Ellsworth and nobody cares about Edge, and tells him to ask him - the only person on the team who matters - questions. Edge then asks Randy Orton questions instead, and wants to know why Orton is in The Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt says the Randy Orton Edge once knew is dead, and a more dangerous Viper will take his place on Sunday. Shane says nobody on the team has to like each other, but on Sunday, they all have to be on the same page. He tells Styles this is "our team." AJ Styles then turns around and accusses Dean Ambrose of being a loose cannon, and Ambrose tells him it's on at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs. As Ambrose and Styles argue, The Undertaker makes his presence known on SmackDown Live for the first time in 3 1/2 years. As soon as 'Taker gets in the ring, he stares Shane down for a few seconds, then picks up a microphone. He says there can be no better man to run SmackDown Live than a man with no fear. He is here for two reasons. He wants to ensure WrestleMania does not define him, as he is back takin' souls and diggin' holes. He says Survivor Series is where it all began, and that SmackDown is his home. He says that there is no reason to fear failure, but if Team SmackDown Live does, they will have reason to fear the Deadman. He says that Team Raw had better rest in peace.

After the show went on the air, The Undertaker runs into Kane on the way out.

Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Carmella, Naomi, Natalya and Alexa Bliss guest on Talking Smack. It becomes obvious that the SmackDown Live women's team is focused and on the same page after the events of tonight.

The Miz and Maryse show up on Talking Smack, asking if Daniel Bryan still wants to trade him after his Intercontinental Championship victory, and wants to know who Daniel Bryan will root for at Survivor Series: him or Sami Zayn. After Miz and Maryse leave, Daniel Bryan admits he wants Miz to win so the Intercontinental Championship can stay on the blue brand, and that as much as he hates The Miz, The Miz has been successful as he will do anything to win. He feels that Sami Zayn would win at Survivor Series in a fair match, but a fair match is not a guarantee.

Edge guests on Talking Smack. He talks about The Undertaker's entrance as well as The Undertaker's speech, and says that he has had a long responsibility for SmackDown after being a big part of the show for so long, and says that SmackDown has always been the land of opportunity just like it was when he was there. He also expresses disappointment at not having that five-second pose with James Ellsworth before saying that he is pulling for Team SmackDown Live. James Ellsworth shows up as well, and Edge sings Ellsworth's praises. Talking Smack ends with Edge and Ellsworth having their five-second pose after all.

Here are the top 10 moments from tonight's show!
