Generation NXT - NXT recap for November 2, 2016

Tonight's footage consists of previously recorded footage of matches from Round 2 of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic from San Jose State University in San Jose, California.

In San Jose, California, before the next match, Austin Aries says that he is not dressed to compete due to a nasty eye injury he received a couple of nights ago, and is not cleared to compete. Nevertheless, he gives TM61 (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne) a chance to forfeit the match and the tournament before being between solely by Roderick Strong. General Manager William Regal shows up and says that while Aries cannot compete tonight, he may be able to compete next week. He then changes the tag match into a singles match, with the winner advancing their respective team to the next round.

Shane Thorne beats Roderick Strong with an inside cradle after Strong is distracted by Nick Miller confronting Austin Aries outside of the ring. TM61 (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne) advances to the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Before the next match at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, Scott Dawson shows up for his match on crutches. Dawson says he has suffered several leg injuries and cannot compete, and The Revival (Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson) will have to pull out of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Dash Wilder says they have saved them the embarrassment of losing to them again. #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) continue to the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Cedric Alexander says NXT has been a learning experience, and that you have to be more than happy to be here. Thanks to Andrade "Cien" Almas, he's ready to fight anywhere, anytime, anyplace.

Backstage, #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) say they are not surprised that The Revival (Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson) forfeited the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They plan to win the Classic, then get their hands on The Revival and win the NXT tag team titles.

Back in San Jose, California, The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) beat No Way Jose and Rich Swann to continue to the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Back at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe and Sawyer Fulton) beat TJ Perkins and Kota Ibushi to continue to the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
