Generation NXT - NXT recap for November 9, 2016

Charly Caruso reports on the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The semi-final matches are previously recorded from the Palladium at Los Angeles, California.

The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) beat #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) to continue to the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic after The Revival climb out from underneath the ring and double team Johnny Gargano at ringside.

Next week: The return...

We see an interview with "The Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger from earlier today. Dillinger says he and Bobby Roode were partners, and that Roode gave him his word only to back out on him. At NXT TakeOver, he says that there is nowhere left to run will kick Roode's ass and make Toronto "The Perfect Ten City."

TM61 (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne) beat SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe and Sawyer Fulton) in a tough match to join The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) in the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

General Manager William Regal has forced The Revival (Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson) to defend the NXT Tag Team Championships against #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) at NXT TakeOver: Toronto in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match.

Bobby Roode says Dillinger wants to blame him for his problems, saying he disrespected Dusty Rhodes and that he's not close to being a "perfect 10." He calls Dillinger a "perfect failure" and says he will make NXT TakeOver: Toronto glorious.

Next week: Andrade "Cien" Almas vs. Cedric Alexander!

General Manager William Regal is in the ring with security to moderate the contract signing between "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: Toronto. Nakamura is introduced first, followed by Samoa Joe. Joe, however, leaves as soon as he sees security and heads back to the back to bring his own table complete with a steel chair to sit in as he places both on the entrance ramp, saying he'll do his business there so he doesn't have to put Nakamura down. He knows Nakamura knows he can put him out for a while, but tells him he is a benevolent future NXT Champion and will give him his chance for revenge at TakeOver and not on NXT television in front of "mouthbreathers." He then orders William Regal to hand him the contract so he can sign it from the entrance ramp. Regal slowly leaves the ring and walks up the ramp to hand him the contract, and he signs. Joe then makes Regal pick the contract up, and Regal takes the contract to the ring. Nakamura takes the contract, then drops it before fighting off all six security guards in the ring and laying them out, with one of them going through a table. He then signs the contract, then drops it on the guy laid on on the broken table to end the show as Nakamura dares Joe to get in the ring with him.
