Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 3, 2016

Tom Phillips interviews Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) during the pre-show. They proclaim that The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) have turned the Raw tag team division into a clown car full of sideshow freaks, and they plan to put a stop to all the fun and games.

During the pre-show, we see footage of an angry Rusev throwing tables backstage after the US title rematch with Roman Reigns.

Roman Reigns shows up to start the show. He says his bloodline has been represented in the WWE for a long time, but nobody has ever won the United States title until now as he is the guy. Suddenly, Lana appears and announces she is here to talk to him, and that Rusev doesn't know that she's doing this. She tells him that Rusev is challenging him to a rematch for the United States title, and when Roman mocks Rusev by saying he's hiding behind Lana's skirt, she tells Roman that she has no idea what family is, and that Rusev will crush him. Roman tells Lana to tell Rusev to "bring his Bulgarian balls out here" and challenge him to his face. Lana tells Roman to go to Hell, and Rusev rushes in. This sets a brawl between Roman and Rusev in motion, and it ends with Rusev kicking Roman into the crowd before he takes the United States title and lifts it up, saying that it is his title. As he and Lana are about to leave, Roman Reigns hits Rusev with a Superman Punch at the top of the entrance ramp before he says that if Lana and Rusev want him to go to Hell, they're going down with him and that Rusev has his rematch...in Hell in a Cell.

We see a video package for TJ Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick, which is happening later tonight.

Brian Kendrick beats TJ Perkins with the Captain's Hook. (The match, which was advertised as being for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship last week, is a non-title match with no explanation given.)

We see an interview between Michael Cole and Seth Rollins from earlier today. Despite doctor's orders telling him not to come to Los Angeles, he's heading there anyway. He knows you make enemies on the way to the top, and says that he and Kevin Owens have had a lot of success in WWE, but that is where the comparisons end. He calls Owens the new teacher's pet, and says Triple H handed him the WWE Universal Championship, whereas he worked his way to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He says that Kevin Owens is a cog in the machine, and that it is hard to replace Seth Rollins. Rollins says he had Owens beat dead to rights at Clash of Champions, but after everything went down he still lost. He plans to prove to the world that he is still "The Man" and force Owens to cancel "The Kevin Owens Show" at Hell In A Cell. It is then announced after the interview that Owens will respond to Rollins later tonight.

Byron Saxton interviews Braun Strowman's opponent, Chase Silver, who says that he's moved out here to Idaho and has dreams of beating Braun Stromwan.

Braun Strowman beats Chase Silver. After the match, Byron Saxton interviews Strowman, who says that if General Manager Mick Foley doesn't give him some real competition next week, there may not be a next week.

Bayley meets up with Sasha Banks. Bayley is ecstatic that Sasha Banks is taking on Charlotte for the Raw Women's Championship in tonight's main event. Sasha talks about how she has proved the critics wrong, and Bayley says she can't think of a more deserving person of the opportunity than Sasha. Sasha says she will make history by taking the Raw Women's title from Charlotte. She says Charlotte was born for the business, but she was born to be champion.

Tickets are now available for Royal Rumble, coming January 29th to the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Rusev vs. Roman Reigns in a Hell In A Cell match for the WWE United States Championship is official for Hell In A Cell.

Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens show up. Owens calls Seth Rollins a stupid idiot for requesting a rematch for the WWE Universal Championship, saying that Rollins lost at Clash of Champions and implying that he has done nothing to deserve it. He tells Rollins that he beat him, and that he is now the one standing in the ring with the Universal title. Jericho then announces he is in the ring with Owens as they are the best of friends, but Owens says he asked Jericho to join him because Rollins blames the referee for the match and that he wants Jericho to be the special guest referee for the rematch. Jericho then tells Owens that he and Owens are the best tag team in the WWE, and that they should challenge The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) for the tag titles, but Owens says Cesaro and Sheamus have a shot and holding the Universal and one-half of the Raw tag titles is a lot of. After some coaxing, however, Owens considers doing it after all. The New Day show up and say that they have the best friendship in the WWE, and Jericho puts Kofi on The List. Big E and Xavier Woods also make the list, the former for not allowing Jericho in the champions' huddle and the latter for laughing. Owens then tells them to leave if they're not going to put the Raw tag titles on the line against them, then roasts The New Day, saying they jumped the shark. Xavier Woods asks Owens when the last time he jumped over anything was before telling them they've got a tag team match later tonight.

We see footage from earlier today where Cesaro and Sheamus get out of a car and argue as Cesaro literally tosses Sheamus' luggage out of the trunk.

Ryan Phillippe of Shooter - premiering on USA Network soon - is seen in the front row.

Jeri-KO (CHris Jericho and Kevin Owens) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) is official for later tonight.

Sami Zayn beats Titus O'Neil.

Cesaro and Sheamus argue over who made them late. General Manager Mick Foley shows up, and wants them to get on the same page and prove him right.

Gallows & Anderson's (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) pre-show comments are re-broadcast before the next match.

Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) beat The Golden Truth (Goldust and R-Truth), then hit Goldust with the Magic Killer after the match.

Jeri-KO (Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens) meet up with Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson. They tell Jericho after Owens leaves and a comedic reading of The List that they will be ringside for Jeri-KO vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods).

Enzo Amore and Big Cass are in the ring with three breast cancer survivors - and contest winners - to announce that WWE is once again teaming up with Susan G. Komen. The survivors and winners are honored with honorary WWE Raw Womens' titles.

Ashton Kutcher and Danny Master guest on commentary for the next match.

The New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) beat Jeri-KO (Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens) after the distraction from Seth Rollins. Rollins hits a Pedigree on Jericho after the match.

Tom Phillips interviews Charlotte and Dana Brooke. Charlotte says Sasha Banks knows she will expose her as an overachiver as she proves that she has no equal, and that Sasha Banks will be history when she makes her tap.

A few members of the Los Angeles Rams and Josh Reddick of the Los Angeles Dodgers are seen in the front row.

Seth Rollins runs into Stephanie McMahon backstage, and Stephanie tells Rollins he will not last long on his own. Rollins tells Triple H made a mistake not only turning on him, but also marrying Stephanie, and if he doesn't get his Universal title rematch, he will burn Raw to the ground and take Kevin Owens with it.

Tony Nese beats Rich Swann.

WWE and NBC Universo celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating the career of Mil Mascaras.

"The Makeover of Emma to Emmalina" is premiering soon...

Cesaro and Sheamus beat Raul White and Mark Carradine.

Oscar De La Hoya is spotted in the front row.

We look back at the history between Charlotte and Sasha Banks before the main event.

Charlotte mocks Bayley on the way to the ring. She leaves, then Dana Brooke tells Bayley not to cry when Charlotte snaps Sasha Banks in half. When she pats Bayley on the head, Bayley moves her hand away from her head, and Dana pushes her to the wall. Bayley grabs Dana and throws her into a storage case, hurting one of Dana's knees.

It is announced that Dana Brooke will not be in Charlotte's corner for the next match after Bayley's attack on her backstage.

Sasha Banks beats Charlotte to win the WWE Raw Women's Championship!

Here are the top 10 moments from tonight's show!
