Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 26, 1996

Juventud Guerrera beats Billy Kidman in his Nitro debut. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Guerrera after the match, and he unintentionally receives the ire of the fans as soon as he starts speaking Spanish.

Jim Powers and Marcus Bagwell - the former now being managed by Theodore Long - almost beat The Dungeon of Doom (The Taskmaster and Big Bubba), but Big Bubba gets the shoulder up very close to the three count that it is too close to call. Taskmaster and Bubba take advantage of the fact that Powers and Bagwell are celebrating after the match is restarted, and Teddy Long berates Nick Patrick for his officiating of the match afterwards. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Bubba, Taskmaster and Jimmy Hart. Bubba says he should be getting the gold and all of the title shots after how he kicked out. He also asks when Glacier is showing up, as vignettes are still airing yet Glacier has yet to appear, as he wants a piece of him. Jimmy Hart says that Glacier may be saying blood runs cold, but the only thing running will be Glacier. The Taskmaster accuses Okerlund of hanging out with "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan a week ago, and says The Four Horsemen have another thing coming if they think they're the last line of defense against The New World Order (Nash, Hall, Hogan). As for whether or not Taskmaster is greasing the palm of Nick Patrick, The Taskmaster says that everyone is entitled to a mistake, including Okerlund and Hogan.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Sting and Lex Luger. "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichael have challenged them, and they've accepted the challenge, and Luger dares them to come and get it. Sting says this is just to test them, and Sting has the feeling they don't trust them. He says Benoit and Mongo have made a mistake questioning their intestinal fortitude. As for The New World Order (Hall, Nash, Hogan), Luger says they don't back down from a challenge and have based their careers on that face.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. beats Mike Enos after Enos thumbs referee Randy Anderson in the eye as Chavo goes for a Figure Four Leg Lock and "Dirty" Dick Slater tries to take advantage only to be rolled up by Chavo with an inside cradle. The ref, still blinded, is unable to tell the difference between Enos and Slater and Chavo gets the win, much to Enos' dismay. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Chavo after the match, and Chavo calls out Diamond Dallas Page, saying Page fired him up when he whipped him last week with a belt, and says it's to teach Page how to lose with respect. He cannot wait to face Page at Fall Brawl, and says when you mess with one Guerrero, you mess with them all.

The WCW Monday Nitro shirt is now available for $19.95 plus $5.95 shipping and handling!

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: Lex Luger defends the WCW Television Championship against "Lord" Steven Regal! The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) face The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs)!

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Mr J.L. During the match, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan is outside of the arena with Hall and Nash, and they head to the video truck and spray paint "NWO 4 LIFE" on it. Dean Malenko also shows up to watch the match from afar during the match, and pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichael. Mongo says he and Benoit should be backing "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. Benoit says tonight is about vengeance or envy, but about security for The Horsemen and for WCW. Benoit believes Sting and Lex Luger doesn't have the hunger of a beast, and he gets to find out if they do tonight.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Savage has the title shot against "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan at Halloween Havoc, and he says it's going to be the scariest match of the century as he plans to take Hogan apart piece by piece. As for Fall Brawl, he plans to blow through The Giant.

The Giant beats "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan after Duggan tries to wrestle his 2x4 away from Jimmy Hart after a taped first has no effect on The Giant. During the match, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase shows up in the audience, two months after leaving WWF. He sits in a front row seat for the remained for the match. After the match, DiBiase looks at the camera, shows three fingers, then four fingers, then five. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Giant and Jimmy Hart, and asks "Macho Man" Randy Savage where his guts were when he lost the World title. He says he will fight Hogan and not Savage, as he will beat Hogan for the belt again, and if he has to beat Savage in the cage at Fall Brawl to do it, so be it.

The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson) beat The Rock 'n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson). After the match, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Woman, Miss Elizabeth, Anderson and Flair. Anderson says that the hourglass has been turned over and the sand is running out on the New World Order (Hall, Nash, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan). This time, the nWo won't be able to pick their spot and find out how much of a man they are. Flair tells The New World Order to get ready because War Games are not in New York, Chicago or Los Angeles, but in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, home of the Horsemen.

Chris Jericho's WCW debut against "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright is declared a no-contest after Wright hits his head on the metal guardrail and Jericho tells the referee he does not want to continue the match in this fashion. "Mean" Gene Okerlund shows up and calls Jericho's debut a breath of fresh air. Jericho says he came to WCW to fight to the best of his ability, and winning by count-out as Wright is lying on the floor holding his head is not the best of his ability. He has a lot of respect for Wright, and says that someone from The New World Order like "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan - someone he used to admire - would win in such a fashion. He says that he and Alex will fight their hearts out for WCW.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat The Blue Bloods ("Squire" David Taylor and "Earl" Robert Eaton) after constant arguing and miscommunication from the latter team as Rick Steiner lands on his head after a double team and pins Eaton. Taylor attacks Eaton after the match, but Eaton fires back. The Steiners and "Mean" Gene Okerlund cant' believe it as referee Nick Patrick tries to break them up. The Steiners tell Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) that they're going down at Fall Brawl.

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan shows up as Steve "Mongo" McMichael and "The Crippler" Chris Benoit face Sting and Lex Luger. Mongo slowly approaches Hogan around the ring only to be ambushed by Hall and Nash. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan flees the commentary area as Hall, Nash and Hogan beat up everyone and spray paint "NWO" on the back of everyone they beat up. "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson rush in and attack The New World Order (Nash, Hall, Hogan), but Hogan spray paints Flair in the face before spraying a black streak through his hair. Fans throw trash into the ring as The New World Order celebrate before they take over the commentary area.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 19, 1996

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan beats V.K. Wallstreet with a taped fist. He pulls the tape out of the tights, but the referee takes it away from him and V.K. Wallstreet puts it around his fist. However, Duggan pulls out more tape, tapes the fist up and lets Wallstreet have it. After the match, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Duggan, and Duggan tells Hogan he wants to talk to him as a man, wanting to know why he's turned his back on everybody. "Macho Man" Randy Savage shows up and says he and Duggan are on the same wavelength, and says he's got a problem with Hulk Hogan and he's going to get it taken care of. He plans to make things happen and not hang back even a little bit when it comes to Hogan. Savage says The Giant didn't take care of everything after he stepped aside and Hogan now has the World title, and now he's got a problem with The Giant.

:The Cripller" Chris Benoit beats "Earl" Robert Eaton.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Sting and Lex Luger. They've got a little surprise for The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson) and they're going at it with a new plan. Sting tells Flair and Anderson that life in WCW has never been a cakewalk, and they've got a surprise for them.

Scott "Flash" Norton beats Disco Inferno with a Flashback followed by a single arm bar.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Theodore Long and Ice Train. Teddy thanks everyone for the well wishes for a speedy recovery, and says Scott "Flash" Norton didn't beat Ice Train due to Nick Patrick calling the match. Ice Train tells Norton he can't attack him from behind and that he'll have to face him eventually, and he won't be wrapped up in tape for long.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: "Squire" David Taylor vs. Lex Luger for the WCW Television Championship! Dean Malenko vs. "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship!

Dean Malenko beats "Lord" Steven Regal.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Enforcer" Arn Anderosn and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Anderson knows Sting and Lex Luger hates them, but at least he has guts and he has never had to have a weapon in his back pocket to feel tough. He says Sting and Lex Luger have rolled with them for 10 years, and tonight won't be any different. Flair says that tonight, Luger and Sting will be styling and profiling with them. As the pyro goes off to signal the second hour, Flair tells Hulk Hogan that if he's watching tonight, then he should know that Flair has more playing time than Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan or Hogan.

The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) beat Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) after Public Enemy accidentally put themselves through a table. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Nasty Boys after the match. Sags says that everyone who enters Nastyville will leave Nastyville face down like Public Enemy, be it WCW or nWo. Knobbs says Hulk Hogan can go do his thing while they do theirs, and that The Nasty Boys are ready to be tag team champs for a fourth time.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. beats Diamond Dallas Page after reversing the Diamond Cutter into a backslide pin. An angry DDP rips the belt off the pants of referee Nick Anderson and whips Chavo with it, and referee Randy Anderson has to stop Diamond Dallas Page. Patrick defends himself yet again to "Mean" Gene Okerlund, saying it wouldn't be the best option to go it alone. As for the recent accusations, he blames them all on Okerlund, saying it's all his fault the media is blowing everything out of proportion and that WCW is fractured.

Fall Brawl is coming to pay-per-view Sunday, September 15th!

Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships against The American Males (Marcus Alexander Bagwell and Scotty Riggs).

Before the next match, Sting wants Steve "Mongo" McMichael and "The Crippler" Chris Benoit to come down to the ring as he knows they will show up. After the commercial break, "Mean" Gene Okerlund shows up to make heads or tails of the situation. "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson says if Sting has something to say, then let him say it. Sting says he and Luger can keep going at it with the Horsemen. He knows he and Luger can't trust them, but knows they are as much WCW as he and Luger. He says that War Games will happen in 30 days, and it was created for The Horsemen by The Horsemen, and demands that he and Flair take two of the slots in War Games with "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. Anderson says he doesn't like Sting and Luger and that they don't share his philosophy, and tells Luger to bring power and dedication with him to War Games if he is to survive. Luger says he knows Anderson and Flair knows he doesn't let up. Anderson then asks Sting for one night not to do the ring thing and to get down in the gutter and do something so violent and painful that the other man is forced to quit, then says when he gets in War Games with The Outsiders (Hall and Nash), they'll have to kill him because he will never quit. Sting says WCW has never been a cakewalk, and that he has lived the life of WCW. Flair says he knows Sting and Luger better than anyone else, and if Benoit and Mongo are willing to step aside, he'll walk the path, otherwise Benoit and Mongo are part of the team. Benoit says he will respect their decision, while Mongo says he is willing to sacrifice but will be watching Sting and Luger to make sure they hold up the end of the bargain, otherwise the nWo will be a walk in the park. Anderson tells Sting and Luger they have a deal, and Sting and Luger join Flair and Anderson in War Games.

We see another announcement paid for by the New World Order where Hall and Nash are out and about in Denver. They brag about taking the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and leaving The Giant laying. They say they don't someone like The Booty Man as part of their team, then make fun of Sting and Lex Luger.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage attacks The Giant with a steel chair before their match can begin. The Giant makes quick work of Savage, who manages to take down Jimmy Hart and take his steel chair to swat Hugh Morrus and Big Bubba before hitting The Giant, Meng and The Barbarian with it before rushing out of the ring. The Giant quickly runs to the back to look for Savage. Also, Sting and Lex Luger teaming up with "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair at War Games is official for Fall Brawl.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for August 19, 1996

Owen Hart beats The British Bulldog by count-out to advance to the quarter-finals of the Intercontinental title tournament. During the match, static is seen, and is attributed to the spirit of The Undertaker. Soon after, Sunny shows up and guests on commentary, saying she should be managing Bulldog and Owen instead of Jim Cornette, as Cornette isn't at ringside. Cornette is backstage watching the match on a TV screen, and when interviewed, we find out he isn't at ringside as it's like watching two of your kids fight and doesn't want to pick sides. He says that WWE is against Camp Cornette due to Vader losing out on the WWF Championship at SummerSlam and not getting a rematch at In Your House, Clarence Mason stealing talent from underneath his nose and the placement of Owen Hart and The British Bulldog in a match against each other in the Intercontinental Championship tournament. He takes offense to what Sunny said about Owen and Bulldog needing better management, and says he's just trying to keep Camp Cornette together. He also says that "his 650-pounder" Yokozuna will put an end to "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels tonight (which is ironic, since Yokozuna turned on him even though he helped take him to the top. Nevertheless, commentary is convinced Yokozuna and Cornette have reconciled). Owen and The British Bulldog fight near the announce table - and way too close to Sunny her for her liking - before Owen wins by count-out, and when Bulldog gets too close to Sunny, she throws soda into his face and accuses him of being a pervert and looking up her skirt before saying Owen is the better man. Jim Cornette shows up, and Owen also sees what's going on, and it leads to an argument between Cornette and Sunny which leads to Cornette calling Sunny a slut.

Mark Henry shows up to meet and greet some of the members of the crowd, and also sign autographs. Sunny leaves as this goes on, but Vader shows up and gets in Henry's face telling him he's the world's strongest man. Jim Cornette guests on commentary for the next match.

Vader beats Freddie Joe Floyd. Cornette says that Yokozuna has indeed realized that he brought him to the top and that he will guide him to victory tonight. Once again, video static is present, but now there is audio static, otherworldly sounds being heard and the lights dimming on and off as Vader finishes off Freddie Joy Floyd.

The encore presentation of SummerSlam is tomorrow night at 8 PM and 11 PM Eastern (7 PM and 10 PM Central) on pay-per-view!

Jim Bearer interviews Paul Bearer and Mankind in the ring. When asked why he turned on The Undertaker, Paul Bearer says he's sick and tired of being tired. He has tired of carrying The Undertaker all over the world and to a WWF Championship, and he is sick and tired of being abused. The lights dim in and out, and audio static can be heard. Paul Bearer attributes all this to Mankind, whom he says has the spirit and power of the urn now. Mankind says his body is still in pain from the Boiler Room Brawl, and he loves it. Since his birth in the WWF, winning has never been his priority and it was simply a way to create more misery for his opponent, but now Paul Bearer has shown him that by defeating Shawn for the WWF Championship, he will not only make Shawn the least sexy boy toy in the world, but he will destroy the lives of "the Kliq." All he has to do is pin "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels' shoulders to the mat, and and then put them in a hospital bed for eternity. The lights are dimming in and out as Mankind speaks, and Jim Ross says it's all due to The Undertaker. Paul Bearer insists that it's Mankind that he feels, as The Undertaker has passed away and gone for eternity. The sound of a gong and the arena going dark proves otherwise, and the chanting of the druids can be heard. The druids show up, carrying The Undertaker back to the ring. Mankind says that's not The Undertaker and simply his dried-up, dead carcass. He says The Undertaker tried to play mind games with him, and he's history. Paul Bearer says this is all his plan, as this is just his body and that The Undertaker is not here, and that The Undertaker is nothing without him and will never be anything again. The Undertaker is placed on the aisle across from the ring, and when Paul Bearer proceeds with the wake, The Undertaker stands right back up triumphant. Paul Bearer and Mankind are shocked, and fire shoots out from the ring posts before they escape.

The Stalker is on his way to the WWF to pursue the most evasive game known...the Superstars of the World Wrestling Federation. The pursuit will not be trivial...it will be deadly...

Goldust beats Sycho Sid, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Savio Vega in a sudden death battle royal to earn a shot against "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship on Raw Championship Friday.

Jim Cornette tells "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels that his goose is cooked as he has Yokozuna back in the fold where he belongs.

Despite Jim Cornette showing up in the middle of the match to attack Jose Lothario, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels beats Yokozuna.

SummerSlam 1996 - The Results

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin beats Yokozuna during the Free For All after Yokozuna falls down on his way to the top rope and accidentally rips the top rope off, allowing Austin to get the pin in less than two minutes.

Todd Pettengill interviews Sable, Marlena and Sunny during the Bikini Beach Blast.

Jim Ross interviews The Undertaker and Paul Bearer in the ring. Paul Bearer wants The Undertaker to be confident that the urn will be safe in his hands while he takes care of Mankind in the boiler room, and he promises that the sanctity of the urn will not be compromised. The Undertaker says there was a quiet before the storm, and tonight, he will extinguish the flame of Mankind. There will be a time to rejoice, and he will leave Mankind's remains in the boiler room...and when he returns to the ring...let the funeral begin.

Todd Pettengill interviews Jerry "The King" Lawler when something brown is seen in the pool. T.L. Hopper fishes it out only to find out it's a Baby Ruth.

Dok Hendrix interviews "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and Jose Lothario. Shawn says he doesn't like being the underdog, but he's gotten used to it because he doesn't have a choice. He's glad to be WWF's "giant killer," but he's put the past behind him. He knows that Vader has the potential to beat him, but tonight is his night to exact revenge and give the best he can. When asked what would happen if the WWF Championship run came to an end, he says he would take it personal when he lets the fans down, as he has the fans for bringing him the success he has.

"Wildman" Marc Mero and Goldust almost have a beach brawl at the Bikini Beast Blast-off. Todd Pettengill makes a run for it to the ring to welcome everyone to SummerSlam.

Owen Hart beats Savio Vega with the Sharpshooter after knocking Vega out cold with his cast after Vega accidentally hits his head on Owen's cast during a top rope back suplex. Clarence Mason shows up during the match to watch as Jim Cornette is in the locker room with Vader. Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw shows up with Uncle Zebekiah, saying he'll be sending Vega back to the Dominican Republic after disgust from being beaten by Vega on a regular basis before attacking Vega from behind.

Todd Pettengill shows us the boiler room where The Undertaker and Mankind will do battle. He stumbles upon Mankind, who says there's no place like home as he licks a bailer, and as much as he loves every suqare inch of the boiler room, it's time to leave because destiny awaits on the other side. He warns The Undertaker not to come in, because outside the walls awaits a fate worse than death and a possible turn of events that could alter the future of all mankind.

The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) retain the WWF World Tag Team Championships against The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn), The New and Improved Rockers (Marty Jannetty and Leif Cassidy) and The Bodydonnas (Skip and Zip, with the former donning a neck brace after last Friday night's show at Madison Square Garden) in a four-team elimination tag match as Hillbilly Jim chases after Sunny with the bucket of slop and the Gunns take advantage of the referee distraction. After the match, Sunny puts the Gunns on a pedestal and says they will stay champions, while saying that the Gunns are what real men are supposed to look like before unfurling a poster with her image above the ring.

We see some footage of The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) and Sunny and The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) racing through Cleveland to the Gund Arena, with the Godwinns taking the local rapid transit while Sunny and the Gunns take a horse-driven carriage. The Godwinns come in first by a long shot. Meanwhile, Jerry "The King" Lawler gets some advice from the Cleveland Indians before he throws the first pitch of the season. Meanwhile, the Superstars of the World Wrestling Federation paint over a griffiti-ravaged building, and Paul Bearer and The Undertaker give away an entire funeral. The Superstars sign autographs, and the weekend is topped off with a proclamation from Cleveland mayor Michael R. White.

Dok Hendrix interviews Sycho Sid, who tells The British Bulldog that he's here to stay after the fans demanded he come back, and that it's time to take one more step to becoming master and ruler of the world.

Sycho Sid beats The British Bulldog. Just like in Owen Hart's match, Clarence Mason shows up to watch as Jim Cornette is still in the locker room with Vader, but Cornette shows up and gets angry with Clarence Mason, which distracts The British Bulldog long enough to allow Sid to win the match.

Todd Pettengill "Wildman" Marc Mero and Sable. He can't understand what's going on with both Goldust and Mankind, but it's time to put up or shut up. He tells Goldust he's going to be a falling star.

Goldust beats "Wildman" Marc Mero thanks to the distraction by Marlena after a Shooting Star Press by Mero. It is announced that Ahmed Johnson has had to take a second trip to the hospital after his kidney started bleeding again after surgery, but he has since returned home. Also, Mankind shows up thinking that Sable is his "mommy," but he is forced back to the boiler room by officials. After the match, Goldust tries to have his way with Sable, but Marc Mero gives him the what for.

It is announced that the final four men in the ring other than Ahmed Johnson in the recent open-invitational battle royal for a shot at the WWF Championship at SummerSlam - "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Goldust, Savio Vega and Sid - will be in a sudden-death battle royal on Raw Championship Friday, this Friday at 9 PM Eastern, 8 PM Central, with the winner being awarded the WWF Intercontinental Championship.

Todd Pettengill interviews Sunny and Faarooq Asaad in the ring. Faarooq demands to know why WWF President Gorilla Monsoon is not handing the WWF Intercontinental Championship, saying he should be holding the title right now and that the tournament should be running through him as he put Ahmed out on his own, not three or four other people. Sunny says Faarooq is what a real man is all about and calls him her "little modern-day gladiator." She tells Monsoon he can have his tournament, as Faarooq will be the next Intercontinental Championship. Whatever Sunny wants, Sunny gets...and she wants the gold.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry is introduced as the newest member of the World Wrestling Federation. He guests on commentary for the next match, but before that can happen, Jerry "The King" Lawler shows up with a bag n one hand and what looks like a white flag in the other. He takes off his royal jacket to reveal he is wearing a Vinny Testaverde Baltimore Ravens jersey to make fun of the fact that the NFL's Cleveland Browns have recently moved to Baltimore to become the Baltimore Ravens. He mocks the crowd before telling him he's brought Jake "The Snake" Roberts two tag team partners - two bottles of Jim Beam - and mocking Roberts. He then mocks Mark Henry for a bit before mocking Roberts again. Roberts finally shows up, and Lawler says he has something in his bag that's better than what Roberts has in his. He reaches in and pulls out a big bottle of wine. As referee Harvey Wippleman tries to take the bottle away, Roberts pulls Revelations right out of his bag and sics him on Lawler. Lawler bails out of the ring in record time, but returns when Revelations is placed back into the bag. He tries to give Roberts the two bottles of Jim Beam as a peace offering, but it doesn't work.

Jerry "The King" Lawler beats Jack "The Snake" Roberts after grabbing ref Harvey Wippleman as Roberts goes for the DDT, distracting Roberts. This allows Lawler to hit Roberts in the throat with one of the bottles of Jim Beam. After the match, Lawler says that Roberts' throat is dry and he needs a drink, and proceeds to force feed both bottles' worth of Jim Beam into Roberts' throat. Mark Henry gets up and stops him before he can drench Roberts with the second bottle and forces Lawler to retreat. Mark Henry then tends to Roberts, then helps him to the back. Harvey Wippleman gathers the bag with Revelations in it and takes it to the back, too. We then see Bob Backlund campaigning for President in the audience.

Mankind beats The Undertaker in a Boiler Room Brawl match after Paul Bearer turns on The Undertaker, allowing Mankind to lock in the Mandible Claw and reclaim the urn after Bearer shines the urn up just for him, slaps The Undertaker in the face and slams the urn into Undertaker's head before giving it to Mankind. After the match, the arena goes dark, druids show up and carry The Undertaker away to the back as they chant.

Dok Hendrix interviews Jim Cornette and Vader. Cornette doesn't care how many people are in the arena; he and Vader that "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels can be beaten and they plan to beat him where it counts.

Vader beats "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels by count-out, but Jim Cornette, upset with the results, says he and Vader came here to win the title, dares Michaels to get back in the ring and tells the referee to restart the fight, saying he and Vader want a winner. The referee announces that the match will continue, causing Vader to attack Shawn again and Cornette to hit Shawn with his tennis racket when Vader lays a hand on Jose Lothario, distracting the referee. Vader beats Shawn in the restarted match by disqualification after he beats Vader - and Cornette - with the tennis racket tossed into the ring by Cornette in full view of the referee. Cornette accuses Shawn of being a coward and getting himself disqualified on purpose to keep the title, and dares Shawn to keep fighting if he has any guts. The match is restarted again, this time by WWF President Gorilla Monsoon, who shows up in the ring this time. On the second restart, Shawn is pushed into the referee, and another official has to come into the ring to count a near-fall on a Vader powerbomb after Vader kicks out of Sweet Chin Music. However, Vader wastes too much time when Jim Cornette tells him to go to the top rope to hit a moonsault on Shawn, who rolls out of the way and hits Vader with a moonsault of his own to retain the WWF Championship.

Men beats "Macho Man" Randy Savage by forfeit.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Dungeon of Doom (The Taskmaster, Meng, The Barbarian, Hugh Morrus, Jimmy Hart). The Taskmaster says he doesn't "Macho Man" Randy Savage and that he's hit people with chair throughout his career. He also says he did not praise "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan for the last year and a half and that he told it like it was. Okerlund admits to pushing the Hulkamania bandwagon, but says something in Hogan definitely snapped. Jimmy Hart then says that The Dungeon is the strongest force in the WCW as The Taskmaster talks about "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Braun the Leprachaun runs around and snarls outside of the ring.

Madusa beats Bull Nakano after Sonny Onoo accidentally kicks Nakano in the kidney off the apron during retaliation against Madusa for hitting him with a top rope cross body.

Names don't change, and that he and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan just change the date and the year, and the attitude is the same: to want to be at the top. He says Hogan has changed the outfit, but he hasn't changed the make-up. He tells Nash that if he jumps on him, he'll deal with Steve "Mongo" McMichael. He tells Hall if he jumps on him, he gets "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. If anybody from the nWo wants to find out what it's like to play with them, they can come on do. He then tells Hogan doesn't beat up Anderson because he can't, and neither can Hogan.

Chavo Guerrero, Jr. shows up, but is unable to stop Page from hitting Eddie with a third Diamond Cutter, this time from the top rope. A member of medical staff tends to Eddie, and we then see "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan grabbing "Mean" Gene Okerlund by the suit collar at the top of the entrance ramp. Hogan confronts Okerlund for speaking negatively about him, and tells him to watch his back. Hogan says he will shut all the chumps up as Flair couldn't lace his boots in all of his glory and can never be nWo Champion. He says only one man can be the "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan of wrestling, and says there are certain levels of excellence in life. He will prove that Flair will be called "The stupid little man who couldn't get the job done," then tells Okerlund to stay out of his face.

Train with the best at WCW Power Plant Call now to set up a tryout at (404) 351-4959!

Sting and Lex Luger beat Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) and The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) by disqualification - and Harlem Heat retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships - after Sting and Luger are attacked outside of the ring by The Outsiders (Hall and Nash). Scott Steiner is angry upon coming close to the tag titles only to lose them. "Mean" Gene Okerlund confronts referee Nick Patrick, who declares that even though The Outsiders never got in the ring, they still interfered in the match by attacking Sting and Luger on the floor. He says that the ability to see two things at one time makes a referee great, and if the tape needs to be reviewed, then let it be reviewed. As for recent actions from him in the last week and a half, he insists that he is WCW all the way.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair beats "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan by disqualification - and Hogan retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship - after Hogan yanks the referee down to the math during Flair's Figure Four Leg Lock, allowing The Outsiders (Hall and Nash) to attack Flair alongside Hogan. The Outsiders and Hogan are soon met by the rest of The Four Hoursemen ("The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael) as well as Sting and Luger, forcing The New World Order (Hall, Nash, Hogan) to retreat.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 12, 1996

The Dungeon of Doom (The Taskmaster, Meng, Barbarian, Hugh Morrus) beats High Voltage (Ronnie Rage and Kenny Kaos) and Rough and Ready (Mike Enos and Dick Slater). Rough and Ready turn on High Voltage and attack Ronnie Rage after the match.

Clash of the Champions is this Thursday at 8:05 PM Eastern on TBS.

Sting and Lex Luger show up. Luger says he's not spending another sleepless night after what happened at Hog Wild, and Sting wants to clear up the air right now. They then get in the ring and issue an open challenge for The New World Order (Hall, Nash, Hulk Hogan), saying they'll show up in the ring if they have any guts. Not surprisingly, they fail to show, and Sting gives them another chance, telling them they can bring the baseball bats if they want.

Diamond Dallas Page beats The Renegade to retain the BattleBowl ring and title. During the match, it is announced that The New World Order (Hall, Nash, Hulk Hogan) will respond to Sting and Lex Luger's challenge later tonight.

The New World Order (Hall, Nash and Hulk Hogan) say they'll accept Sting and Lex Luger's challenge on their times as they brag about taking the World Heavyweight Championship and the Nick Patrick controversy. Hulk Hogan - now with the stubble around his face dyed black - says they've given WCW all the hints on who the fourth and fifth men are. The fourth man almost reveals himself, but Hogan tells him to stay off-screen. Hall and Nash then decide to accept Sting and Luger's challenge for tonight after all. They call The Giant, Sting and Lex Luger losers and ask what WCW will do when Sting and Luger lose again.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael) in an eight-man tag match! The Giant in action!

Konnan puts his feet on the ropes to beat Jim Powers. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Konnan after the match. Konnan tells Okerlund to shut up about his win, and says that ever since The New World Order (Hall, Nash, Hogan) have showed up, they've beaten people up left and right. He says whoever fails to plan plans to fail, and says he's sticking with WCW in the war against the nWo.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Big Ron Studd. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Woman, Miss Elizabeth and Chris Benoit after the match. Benoit calls Dean Malenko one of the greatest technical wrestler today and respects his talents, but says that he was in the ring with a man on an agenda. The Four Horsemen have an agenda, and until that agenda is fulfilled, they have a few obstacles. He tells The Giant he is big and strong by stature, but he will knock him down to size at Clash of the Champions.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) by disqualification - and Harlem Heat retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships - after Rick Steiner chases Col. Robert Parker into the ring as Sister Sherri grabs Scott Steiner's foot during a vertical suplex.

Rey Mysterio Jr. retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against The Ultimate Dragon.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against "Macho Man" Randy Savage after Flair accidentally clotheslines the referee and Savage is struck with a steel chair by "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan. Nick Patrick calls for a member of medical staff to check on the original referee for the match, and has to make the three-count when Flair makes the pinfall with Woman holding his feet on the rope.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund is speaking when "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan shows up. Okerlund interviews Hogan, and wants to know what's going on. Hogan says there is no stopping The New World Worder (Hall, Nash, Hogan). He says this is all business, and that they attacked WCW for a reason. He also wanted to make sure "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair survived until Clash of the Champions so he would have no excuses for not wiping him out then. He says that when Hall and Nash are done with Sting and Lex Luger, everyone is getting a name change, with Ric Flair being known as "the stupid little man," saying if he can attack The Booty Man, then one can only imagine what he's going to do to Ric Flair.

Eric Bischoff and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan are currently pondering the wheareabouts of The Outsiders (Hall and Nash) from the commentary table with help from the production team. They are suddenly spotted coming out from the crowd and entering the ring. Lex Luger shows up, but instead of Sting with him, it's referee Nick Patrick. Luger fights off both Hall and Nash anyway, and Sting shows up not long afterwards. As the fight goes on, it becomes apparent to commentary that Nick Patrick is giving liberties to Hall and Nash, which looks even more suspicious when Nick Patrick moves Hall out of the way of a Stinger Splash. The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael) and chase Hall, Nash and Nick Patrick out of the ring. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews THe Horsemen, and Flair tells Luger and Sting that while he doesn't like them, he'll play ball with them because they're part of WCW. He tells "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan that he doesn't know the first thing about being a bad guy, and that he and Hogan will style and profile Horsemen Style at Clash of the Champions.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for August 12, 1996

It is announced that due to life-threatening complications from a ruptured kidney, Ahmed Johnson underwent emergency surgery this past week. The procedure, known as fusion, stimped internal bleeding in Ahmed's damaged kidney. The injury was originally sustained by a series of blows to Ahmed's kidney area by Faarooq Asaad and further aggravated by Ahmed's insistence in competing in last week's battle royal and another beating by Faarooq. He is now at home recovering, but if his situation does not improve, his kidney may have to be removed. Vince McMahon and the WWE wish Ahmed a complete and rapid recovery.

Faarooq Asaad beats Skip.

After the match, Vince McMahon interviews Jake "The Snake" Roberts via telephone, who tells Jerry "The King" Lawler has brought him to his limit and that the power that has saved him will crush Lawler.

Clarence Mason guests on commentary for the next match.

Crush, back from a long hiatus due to drugs and weapons charges (which he was never convicted of) and sporting a new biker-like look, beats Savio Vega by submission. (In real-life, Crush was arrested and subsequently jailed back home for purchasing steroids and possessing an illegal hand gun after Royal Rumble 1995.)

Sunny advertises the Bikini Beach Blast-off for the SummerSlam Free For All.

Kevin Kelly interviews Ahmed Johnson. Ahmed says he can ignore the physical pain, but the mental pain hurts worse than anything else right now. He got medical attention when his insides were doing flips and the side of his stomach felt ice cold. According to the doctors, his kidney burst after being kicked by Faarooq, and the battle royal only made it worse. As for the chance of losing the kidney, it may happen if it doesn't stop building. He doesn't know if he'll ever perform again if the kidney has to be removed.

Bob Backlund guests on commentary for the next match as he is out campaigning for United States President.

The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) beat T.L. Hopper and Who. During the match, WWF President Gorilla Monsoon announces that the WWF Intercontinental Championship is vacant due to Ahmed Johnson's present condition. There will be a single-elimination tournament starting next week to decide a new Intercontinental Champion.

Mr. Perfect talks with Bret "The Hit Man" Hart on the Wrestle Vessel. Bret says that if he doesn't come back, he hopes the people are happy with what he's accomplished. The only thing that makes him want to come back to the WWF is the fans. For now, he wants to take some more time to think about everything and when he comes back, he wants to speak his mind and announce his decision, and if he comes back, he's going to have a shovel.

We see footage from last Friday's show at Madison Square Garden.

Despite an interference attempt from Vader, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels beat Owen Hart. After the match, Vader grabs a steel chair and heads to the ring, but Shawn removes the cast from Owen Hart's arm. Jim Cornette shows up and tosses his tennis racket to Owen, but Shawn takes it and whacks Owen in the head with it before running into a standing clothesline from Vader. Vader continues to attack Shawn as officials try to break the brawl up and eventually hits Shawn with multiple Vader Bombs.

Tonight, on the WCW Hotline: news regarding some individuals spotted at Hog Wild that may have an effect on who we see joining the New World Order!

Scott "Flash" Norton beats an injured Ice Train by submission with an armbar.

We hear from "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who says that he has "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson's back. He thought that the New World Order (Hall, Nash, Hulk Hogan) and The Four Horsemen (Flair, Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael) would be able to coexist, but this was before Anderson was attacked. He says he will stand for WCW, and if The New World Order want to make their mark, they have their chance.

WCW Hog Wild merchandise is now available! The T-shirt is $21.95 (plus shipping and handling) and the denim jacket is $89.95 (plus shipping and handling)!

Madusa beats Bull Nakano after Bull Nakano and Sonny Onoo mistakenly believe they have won. As per the stipulation of the match, the loser's motorcycle gets destroyed, and when Sonny Onoo gets the sledgehammer, Madusa takes it away from him and trashes Bull Nakano's motorcycle. The referee gives Madusa the win.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) chat with fans on CompuServe, and CompuServe members can join in by typing "go convention." Rick looks more like he is playing an on-line game, however.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Dean Malenko after two restarts due to an initial 30-minute draw and a first five-minute overtime leading into a second one after Woman distracts Malenko and Benoit grabs the rope while Woman scratches Malenko's eyes.

Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships against The Steiner Brothers after Col. Robert Parker accidentally tosses powder into Booker T's face, Sister Sherri tosses powder into Scott Steiner's face and Col. Robert Parker breaks his cane over Scott Steiner's back.

We see the superstars of WCW get on their bikes and ride down the highway, and also spend some time in Sturgis, South Dakota.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair retinas the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship after Eddie Guerrero's shoulders are down for the three count during the Figure Four Leg Drop after Eddie hurts his knee on the frog splash and Flair grabs onto Woman's hands during the Figure Four.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Giant and Jimmy Hart. Hart tells Hulk Hogan is a giant step for him, and if he trips and falls, nobody will be there to pick him up. The Giant says he saw Hulk Hogan's true colors long before anyone else did, and when Hulk Hogan told the fans to stick it, it reminded him of the pain Hogan caused him. Tonight, he gets to be the one to stick it by driving him into the ring with a choke slam and laying him to rest.

The Outsiders (Hall and Nash) beat Sting and Lex Luger after referee Nick Patrick is hit in the eye by Hall's boot during a Torture Rack attempt and gives what seems like a faster count than usual.

Hulk Hogan - now known as "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan - beats The Giant for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship after The Outsiders (Hall and Nash) distract The Giant and Hogan hits The Giant with the title belt while the referee isn't looking. A birthday cake is brought out for Hogan, and The Booty Man shows up along with it dressed in all black and a New World Order shirt. Hogan says that the New World Order is the way to go, and The Booty Man congratulates Hogan on becoming the nWo World Heavyweight Championship before wishing him a happy birthday. He then puts his hand out and thanks Hogan for being there for him for 22 years. Hogan tells The Booty Man he's loved him like he's loved his own blood, and seeing him in a New World Order is something special. He says that "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair will get the beating of his life in Denver, and says the New World Order is so powerful is because they never mix business with friendship or pleasure, saying that Flair showed his downcard for showing feeling for Flair. He tells Hogan that this, however, is a special occasion, and he mixes business with friendship or pleasure by attacking The Booty Man. He then tells Flair that was business and his best friend, and if he can do that to his best friend, it can only be imagined what will happen to Flair. It is then revealed what the present placed on the cake was all along: a can of black spraypaint, which Hogan uses to spraypraint "nWo" on the WCW World Heavyweight Championship as Nash holds it in his hands. Hogan spits on The Booty Man as he leaves with Hall and Nash.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 5, 1996

Scott Norton, Big Bubba and The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) show up to protect the WCW wrestlers. (In case of interference during matches, they allow matters to take their course as they are only here to keep Hall, Nash and Hulk Hogan out.) Also, the four empty chairs in the front row are seen again.

Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships against The Rock 'n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) after the distraction from both Sister Sherri and Col. Robert Parker.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs). Knobbs says just because Hogan is a friend of theirs, they're getting a lot of flak, but he says that Hulk Hogan does what he wants to do and The Nasty Boys do want they want to do. Sting and Lex Luger show up wanting to see where they stand, and The Nasty Boys say they are standing where they've always stood: right here in Nastyville. Sags tells them it's none of their business, but Luger says they're making it their business tonight before he and Sting leave. Knobbs continues to stay neutral on behalf of the team, saying that they don't condone what Hogan did, but they don't see anything wrong with it either.

Malia Hosaka beats Madusa. During the match, a black limousine shows up in front of Disney-MGM Studios.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night as part of a two-hour pre-show before Hog Wild, live from Sturgis, South Dakota: John Tenta vs. Big Bubba! "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson vs. Hugh Morrus! A one-on-one interview with "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair!

"Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright beats "The Crippler" Chris Benoit by count-out thanks to the interference of Dean Malenko. During the match, Jimmy Hart tells Woman to drop what she's doing with Chris Benoit and Miss Elizabeth, saying Benoit will never win her a championship, and come with him to the back because there's somebody she's driving crazy back there: The Taskmaster. Suddenly, Dean Malenko shows up and tries to take Woman to the back, getting the attention of Chris Benoit, who fights him outside of the ring and takes the brawl to the back as he loses by count-out.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage beats "Lord" Steven Regal. Before the pyrotechnics signalling the start of the second hour, it is reported that Eric Bischoff and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan have not made it into the building. Sting and Lex Luger show up and sit in the empty chairs in the front row, and stand up briefly when Savage sends Regal into them. Sting and Lex Luger leave the arena after the match and head to the limousine, complete with camera crew, but only find a bouquet of flowers with a black ribbon with silver writing say "Condolences on the Death of WCW." "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Savage after the match, not knowing what to make of the fact that he takes on the winner of the World Heavyweight title match from Hog Wild to make up for the fact that he has been barred from the event. Savage believes The Giant will get a bigger piece of Hulk Hogan than Hogan will think, and if The Giant leaves a piece for him, he'll finish the job. Sting and Lex Luger show Okerlund and Savage the bouquet, and Savage says that this is their style: always cheap shots and never face-to-face. After Sting says that WCW is alive and well, Randy Savage kicks the bouquet into the stands.

The Booty Man beats "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair by disqualification after interference from "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichaels. Before the match, the rest of The Four Horsemen ("The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit) guard the entryway to protect "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. During the next match, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan shows up and explains his actions from last week, and says he has shown up now because Big Bubba, Scott "Flash" Norton" and The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) are providing security and is now looking for Eric Bischoff and assuming the worst has happened to him. Heenan then leaves again as Benoit and Mongo attack The Booty Man as Flair has him in the Figure Four Leg Lock. "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson joins in and attacks him with the steel chair before "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Horsemen. Anderson says intense pain is a wonderful thing as one's life flashes before their eyes and the ones important to them become crystal clear as they learn the meaning of life. When he saw the rest of THe Four Horsemen in the ambulance, he realized they were a family brought together not by philosophy but by necessity, and says that when the New World Order is put into place, it signals the beginning of the end of time. WCW is the Horsemen's world, and it is where they live and breathe. If The Outsiders want to take a baseball to one of them, they should finish the job, and if they want to send one of theirs to the hospital, The Horsemen will send one from the New World Order to the morgue. "The Crippler" Chris Benoit says everyone saw a fury of hatred, anger and vengeance unleashed just when he was about to break down. Mongo tells The New World Order to get it together and watch their bags, as he can swing some metal himself. Ric Flair then attacks The Booty Man again to send a message to Hulk Hogan, then says if Hogan wants their attention, he's gotten it, and he crossed a line for attacking Anderson like he did.

We look back at the attack from The Outsiders (Hall and Nash) from last week.

The New World Order (Hall, Nash, Hulk Hogan) make another paid announcement where they make fun of Sting and Lex Luger as well as how they sneak-attacked Luger and attacked people in the back last week. Hulk says he will take the World title from The Giant and make it the nWo World Heavyweight Championship one day before his birthday. Scott Hall says "it's only business." They then focus from taking over to extermination. The tape is suddenly stopped thanks to Lex Luger and Sting being in the back. A man in the back tells Hall and Nash that master control was forced to stopped the tape, and Sting wonders if director Craig Leathers is part of the New World Order. Sting then says he has "pot pie and Mountain Dew in the trailer," a reference to Nash saying the same thing two weeks ago when he and Nash were escorted out of the master control room.

The Giant beats Sgt. Craig "Pitbull" Pittman. The Giant almost attacks "Pitbull" again after the match when Theodore Long gets in the ring and tells him to stop, but Long ends up getting choke slammed instead. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Jimmy Hart and The Giant, and Hart tells Hulk Hogan that he was the only one who told him the truth, and as he speaks, the black limousine returns to Disney MGM Studios. Hart tells Hogan that The Giant will be ready for him. The Giant says he has sent a message to the world. He says is not here to be a nice guy or a role model, and that he is only here to be World champion. He has no sympathy for anybody who crosses his path, and tells Hogan his fifteen minutes are up. He dares Hogan to show up at Hog Wild if he has any guts, and he'll show them to him.

The Steiner Brothers show up to protect both the team of Sting and Lex Luger and The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) during the next match.

Sting and Lex Luger beats The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) after a Scorpion Deathlock to Sags and assistance from Rick Steiner outside of the ring.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Sting and Lex Luger. After some very young Sting fans pose for the crowd, Sting and Lex Luger ask about the limousine outside of the arena, and Sting asks if The Outsiders (Hall and Nash) will be inside the limo, and considers checking it out on the one chance that they are inside. Okerlund asks if this is a rib, and Sting says this is not a rib. Okerlund and a cameraman follow Sting and Lex Luger, as do the wrestlers who have been acting as security. When Sting looks inside, someone tosses a bag with a Turner logo on it at Sting. (After the show, Sting opens it up and finds a note from the New World Order with the following written on it: "Rey Was Right, There Are Four Guys...Or Are There Five? See Ya In Sturgis!" Sting and Luger are not impressed with the presentation of the note.)

Raw Deal - Raw recap for August 5, 1996

Jerry "The King" Lawler bashes Jake "The Snake" Roberts before the first match, saying he's been exposing him as a hypocrite. He tells Roberts to make one of those "tell-all" books instead of telling people about it. He then calls out "The Portuguese Man-O-War" Aldo Montoya, calling him "Roberts' designated driver," and says Montoya only beat him because he hung with Roberts and his intoxicating breath transferred over to Montoya's body. He pulls a bottle of Jim Beam out of a paper bag, says it's Roberts' tag team partner, and tells him to hand it to Roberts once he's done with him. He then says he knows Montoya does not drink. Lawler continues to speak into the microphone when the bell rings, and tosses the mic onto the floor before telling Montoya to pick it up if he wants to say his piece. When Montoya does, Lawler gets a cheap shot.

Jerry "The King" Lawler beats "The Portuguese Man-O-War" Aldo Montoya. After the match, Lawler pours the whole bottle of Jim Bean into Montoya's mouth as officials try to stop him.

The New Rockers (Marty Jannetty and Leif Cassidy) want to be known as "The New and Improved Rockers" before the next match. Hillbilly Jim also guests on commentary, then The New Rockers attack The Bodydonnas (Skip and Zip) as soon as they come out from backstage.

A lot of happenings take place in the next match. First, Vince McMahon interviews Sunny. She says that next week, Faarooq Asaad will debut against Skip, and that she'll get what she wants when he proves that Skip can't measure up. Faarooq says it makes no difference who his opponent is, you're either the hunter or the prey, and he's never the prey because he's from a fighting background and doesn't plan to start now. He then says the tiger is the real king of the jungle as the tiger is a man-eating animal who doesn't need a pack of females to do the fighting for him, and likens himself to the tiger. Next, The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) and The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) are seen watching the match from separate rooms. We then learn that the individual being represented by Clarence Mason in recent hearings has been allowed back into the WWF as per WWF President Gorilla Monsoon, but will be under close scrutiny not only by the WWF but by Monsoon personally. Clarence Mason is pleased by the outcome.

The Bodydonnas (Skip and Zip) beat The New Rockers (Marty Jannetty and Leif Cassidy) by disqualification with Zip is attacked by The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn). The New Rockers and The Smoking Gunns continue to attack The Bodydonnas, but The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) show up to clean house. The Bodydonnas and The Godwinns are standing tall in the ring.

We see footage from earlier today where Kevin Kelly interviews "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels earlier today. He says he may be facing adversity in the form of both Vader and Mankind, but it is during times like these that he is at his strongest, and he never said that he was an unbeatable man. At SummerSlam, Vader will have to face him one-on-one for the WWF Championship, and he will have Jose Lothario in his corner when he does. He admits the odds are stacked against him and he has a tough fight ahead of him, and says he cannot express what the WWF Championship means to him and what it has brought to his life as he's waited a long time for this. To beat him, one must beat both him and all the people behind him. He also hopes that Bret "The Hit Man" Hart returns to the WWF, as the WWF without Hart is like peanut butter without jelly. As for his victory at WrestleMania 12, he's used to the criticism. He says that tonight's battle royal personifies why he's the only guy in the WWF that can be the WWF Champion, as there probably can't be another guy who can take on the kind of schedule that he's had to take on. He says Vader is one tough customer, but he could lose the WWF Championship on the next match. There are a lot of confident Superstars in the World Wrestling Federation, but he likes to think that he is a shining star among the rest.

We see footage of last Friday's show from the brand-new Molson Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The over-the-top-rope battle royal begins with Undertaker going after Mankind...and both of them end up going over the top rope before both of them take their brawl to the back. Later in the match, we find out that their battle has gone all over the building, and it returns to the ring for a few seconds before they run back into the crowd and fight their way into the back. We eventually see them fight in the back as officials try to break it up.

The "Bikini Beach Blast-off" is advertised for the SummerSlam Free For All happening in two weeks on the Prevue Channel.

Next week on Raw: "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels vs. Owen Hart!

Ahmed Johnson - competing against doctor's orders due to his injured kidneys - last eliminates Goldust to win a battle royal to earn a shot at the WWF Championship next week on Raw. (In reality, the show was recorded before it was revealed that Ahmed had a kidney injury, and the "doctor's orders" lines from Vince McMahon were overdubs.) Vince McMahon interviews Ahmed after the match, and says he will be sad if he doesn't get Shawn Michaels, because Shawn is like a brother to him. On the other hand, he is interested in facing Vader for it. As he speaks, however, Faarooq Asaad shows up, and he and Ahmed brawl to end the show.
