New Year's Smash, Night Two - Dynamite recap for January 13, 2021

We see a video package chronicling the events leading up to Eddie Kingston vs. PAC.

We hear from Eddie Kingston, who says that he will bust PAC up and send him back home never to come back.

PAC beats Eddie Kingston with the Black Arrow, then puts Eddie Kingston in the Brutalizer after the match. He lets go when The Butcher and The Blade get in the ring, and as they are about to fight Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero M, Rey Fenix), Lance Archer shows up and chases The Butcher and The Blade away before he is confronted by PAC. Jake "The Snake" Robert tries to play peacemaker between Lance Archer and PAC but soon thinks better of it and gets out of the ring as Archer tells PAC to "get on the same page."

Miro beats Chuck Taylor with Game Over. (As per pre-match stipulation, Chuck Taylor has to be Miro's butler until "Superbad" Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford's wedding at Beach Break.)

Backstage, Dasha interviews Matt Hardy and Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy). Private Party state that signing Matt Hardy as their manager has become greater than signing to AEW, then Marq Quen calls Matt Hardy wanting a 30% cut as part of their contract, but Matt Hardy says money is nothing and that they will be superstars. When Marq Quen accuses Matt Hardy of greed, Matt Hardy cements his "Big Money Matt" heel turn and says that nobody cares about them but himself and that they were nobodies until he became their manager, and says that the sooner they figure this out, the better they will be, then tells Private Party that they will do what he tells them to do.

The Inner Circle shows up. Chris Jericho states that this is the first time all of The Inner Circle has been in the ring this year, which he says will be better than last year. Jericho then states that they will . Jake Hager simply yells "Championships! Yeah!" MJF says he wants to strengthen the bonds he has with the rest of the group and that fat people "have to go." Ortiz resolves to be a better cook, then Jericho says that this is the year that he and MJF will win the AEW World Tag Team Championships. Suddenly, Santana reminds Jericho that he handpicked him and Ortiz to be the tag team in The Inner Circle. Sammy Guevara stops Santana and calls Jericho "a little tag team slut" for tagging with three people in The Inner Circle, but MJF says Jericho is just trying to do his job. Guevara tells MJF to shut up, but Jericho says they are all top-level hooligans and that anybody in the group could team with anybody else and win the tag team titles, and says that if Hager and Wardlow can end their hostilities, so can anyone else. Jericho then proposes a three-way tag team match to decide the official tag team of The Inner Circle. Jericho says it will be him and MJF, then Santana says it will be him and Ortiz while Guevara says it will be him and Hager. MJF then says that regardless of who wins, nobody can break The Inner Circle apart.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews The Dark Order. Evil Uno says two weeks ago was important for all of them, and says that everything they do is in Brodie Lee's name and that they have to be better, starting with next week when "Hangman" Adam Page teams with The Dark Order. Page is then pulled into the room, then everyone tries to interview himi before Alex "3" Reynolds asks Page when he will let them know he is joining The Dark Order. John "4" Silver proposes letting them know next week, to which Page agrees, and Page immediately believes Page is a sure addition to the group.

We see a video package chronicling the events leading up to "The Machine" Brian Cage vs. Darby Allin for the AEW TNT Championship.

Backstage, Dasha Gonzalez interviews The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson). Don Callis says the band is back together with the world and tag titles, then quickly decide on whether Omega and the Jacksons have separate entrances for the next match.

Before the next match, Don Callis says tonight is history and says the dream six-man tag match is underway before introducing The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson). The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson), seeing this on a monitor backstage, take offense to this.

"The Elite" (Kenny Omega, "The Big LG" Doc Gallows, "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) beat The Varsity Blondes (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.) and Danny Limelight. After the match, Jon Moxley shows up and goes straight for Omega, but the numbers game eventually catches up until Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero M show up and fight off Gallows and Anderson on the outside while Omega and Moxley brawl in the ring to the point that multiple referees and security guards try in vain to stop all the action that is going on. The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) show up and try to reason with Moxley only to get superkicked by Penta and Fenix. Omega and Don Callis flee to the back while even more wrestlers from backstage and the front row try to keep everyone separated.

It's time for the Dynamite debut of The Waiting Room. Tonight's guest is "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes. After Cody shows up, Dr. Britt Baker announces another surprise guest: Jade Cargill, who tells Cody that nobody cares if Brandi Rhodes is pregnant and says that he did Brandi a favor before stating that she and Shaquille O'Neal are tired of waiting before asking where her opponent is, as Brandi should be watch her because she is "a bad ass mom." She also says that if Brandi returns, she will "beat dat ass." Suddenly, Red Velvet shows up, and when Jade shoves her, this starts a slapping match that turns into a brawl that is quickly pulled apart. Shortl after this, the video footage of Dr. Britt Baker attacking Thunder Rosa backstage is replayed before Thunder Rosa shows up on the video screen and says that Baker has her own talk show segment because "[she] and her big nose" like to get into other people's business before telling her she will have to do the work and wrestler. She then says their match will be a huge match for AEW and that Tony Khan wants to give it a big stage, then announces that their match will be at Beach Break and that she will get to beat Britt's ass. As the match is made official, Britt is livid and she ends the segment as she says that the match is not happening and that Tony Khan said she did not have to wrestle her.

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) beat Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt). (The Goodnight Express is now known as "The Big Rig" as a tribute to Brodie Lee.)
