Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for March 27, 2000

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Kimberly, who has not been seen in some time, to start tonight's show. Before Okerlund can introduce anyone else, Kimberly says she is the only person capable of introducing the next person to show up: Diamond Dallas Page. DDP admits he has a lot on his plate, and that he may have been ruptured his L4 and L5 discs in his back, but he will be back and he will be jacked. He also says that the upcoming movie Ready To Rumble is the biggest thing he has ever done and that it is like "Wayne's World meets wrestling," and quoites a review that states that the movie has enough muscle to "make Janet Reno laugh." DDP then announces that the movie will have its world premiere at Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood Boulevard on April 5th, and says that after that, he plans to star in his next role: becoming a three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion and the hardest working World champion ever. Suddenly, Jeff Jarrett shows up, and tells DDP that he is the only star around here and not DDP, and says it is only a matter of time before he proves why he is called "The Chosen One." He says there will not be a three-time World champion because he has all the stroke in the place and it will only be a matter of time before he has all the gold. After mentioning that Ready To Rumble will play worldwide April 7th, he threatens to crash DDP's party at Mann's Chinese Theater at the world premiere. DDP tells Jarrett that if he wants to crash the world premiere, he will be seeing stars when he imprints his face on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It is announced that during the past week, president of Turner Entertainment Networks, has brought back Eric Bischoff to head up creative, and that Vince Russo - who has also been rumored to come back to WCW as head of creative - is reportedly reluctant to work together with Bischoff.

We see footage of Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart signing autographs at Tower Records and guesting on Mancow Muller's show on Q101 FM, where Jimmy Hart attacks Mancow for saying something that Hart took offense to. It is reported that Jimmy Hart and Mancow had to be separated, and that Mancow wants to get int he ring with Jimmy Hart to get some revenge.

Three wrestlers are talking backstage when Paisley and The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea show up. Paisley says The Artist does not consider Chris Candido and Chavo Guerrero Jr. to be worthy opponents, and one of them will get an opportunity at the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. The one in the gold tights is chosen out of the three, and Paisley tells him not to be late as The Artist does not take kindly to tardiness.

We see footage from earlier today where Scott Steiner is talking to three women in bikinis by a pool. Jeff Jarrett tells Scott Steiner to head to the beach, with The Harris Boys (Ron and Don Harris) in tow.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Booker (now renamed Booker T again). He says The Harris Boys (Ron and Don Harris) can run, duck and hide all they want, but it will make no difference as he and Kidman have game. As fara s tonight goes, he will take one of the Harris Boys in the ring tonight from pillar to post.

Michael Modest beats The Artist Formerly Known As Prince to become the WCW Cruiserweight Champion in his debut match in WCW against the debuting Michael Modest. During the match, Chavo Guerrero Jr. confronts Paisley on the apron, and when Michael Modest knocks Chavo off the apron, "Hard Knox" Chris Candido attacks Chavo while Modest pushes The Artist into Paisley, who falls into Candido and Chavo. Also during the match, it is announced that a $500,000 bounty has been placed on the head of Hulk Hogan by WCW World Heavyweight Championship Sid Vicious.

Ron tells Booker T that he will find out how unlucky lucky can be, and that it takes two great individuals to make a great tag team. Even though it will be a singles match, he will learn what it is like to get his ass kicked by one of The Harris Boys.

We see footage from Spring Break-Out 2000.

We see footage of Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart showing up at a nearby hotel. All of a sudden, Vampiro shows up out of a doorway, wanting to talk to them.

Suddenly, Don Harris gets in the ring and attacks Booker T, revealing he is not injured, and hits the H Bomb alongside Ron to give Ron the win. After the match, Harlem Heat (Stevie Ray, Big T, Cash, J. Biggs) shows up and attacks Booker T, and Kidman runs into the ring to help Booker T out only to fall vitim to the numbers game. Booker T gets back into the ring with a chair to clear the ring out, forcing Harlem Heat to retreat.

Vampiro talks to Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart about the bounty that has been put on Hogan's head by Sid Vicious. Hogan thanks Vampiro, and says he bets $500,000 that Sid Vicious won't show his face tonight.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Hulk Hogan. Hogan says that he was looking over the balcony of his hotel room waiting for Jimmy Hart, but he says three or four women massaging Jimmy Hart after what Sid Vicious did to him last week. He says that Jimmy Hart will be okay after the events from last week. As far as the $500,000 bounty on his head, he says nobody will be cashing in on him, and that if Sid Vicious had the guts to show up, he would show what he would do in front of all of his people, as every time he faces Sid, he turns tail and heads for the woods. Hogan says he will stay out here all night if he has too, saying he will take him on in the center of the ring tonight once and for all. He then says that his father once told him that the greater the gladiator is, the more enemies he has, and a lot of people have been coming out of the woodwork lately to claim the bounty. He says that if Sid is going to come after him, it will be from behind. As for Vampiro, he calls him the wrestler of the future and says he has been watching him, and he has heard that Vampiro will be the man and he will be watching his back. He thanks Vampiro for being the first to show the courtesy to tell him about the bounty, and says he will be watching Vampiro's back. He also says that if he had the chance to step in the ring with Vampiro, it would be his pleasure, as Vampiro's growing momentum reminds him of the beginning of Hulkamania. He then tells Sid Vicious that if he comes out of the shadows, he will be ready to chop him down. Suddenly, The Wall is seen on top of the nearby hotel with a spotlight on him, wanting a piece of Hogan. Hogan tells The Wall that if he wants some, he can come get some, and he bets a million dollars that The Wall will come down to the ring so he can kick his ass. The Wall then disappears.

Mike Tenay interviews Disco Inferno and The Mamalukes (Johnny The Bull and Big Vito). The Mamalukes say that The Harris Boys (Ron and Don Harris) still have the tag team titles, and want to know what Disco is thinking putting them against The Yung Dragons. Disco says that match is the match of the century, and that the executive committee will not overlook them when they win. Meanwhile, The Harris Boys have been watching the interview from backstage.

The Jung Dragons are seen mocking 3 Count (Evan Karagias, Shannon Moore, Shane Helms) before the next match.

The Jung Dragons (Kaz Hayashi, Yang, Jamie-san) beat Disco Inferno and The Mamalukes (Johnny The Bull and Big Vito). The match ends after Sting hits The Total Package with a piledriver at the edge of the ocean water.

When asked about the return of Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo to WCW creative, Booker T tells everyone else in the back who kisses ass about them. He tells Bischoff and Russo to do their job.

We see more footage from Spring Break-Out 2000.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Terry Funk. Funk says that unfinished business with Dustin Rhodes will have to wait, and that he will personally talk to Hugh Morrus tonight about his return to WCW and take care of him in a few minutes.

Before the next match, La Parka's translator works against him again when he calls Meng "Jungle Jim" and makes fun of his hair.

Meng beats La Parka by pinfall with the Tongan Death Grip. After the match, Tank Abbott shows up only to get attacked by Fit Finley, and WCW security has to pull both men apart.

We see some footage from Scott Steiner at the pool from the view of the Kid Cam. We then see what happens after Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett and The Harris Boys (Ron and Don Harris) leave as Buff Bagwell talks to the three women in bikinis at the pool. This footage is then seen backstage by Jarrett, Steiner and The Harris Boys. Scott Steiner already makes his mind up to beat up Buff Bagwell right now,.

When asked about the return of Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo to WCW creative, Fit Finley says WCW has had a bumpy ride so far and that Russo and Bischoff have good track records so far. He says he is a team player, and that he is behind them al the way.

Before the next match, Hugh Morrus tries to tell a "Why did the chicken cross the road?" joke to ring announcer David Penzer before asking "Do you know what Terry Funk does to a chicken?" It is then announced that next week on Nitro, the best of Nitro and Thunder will be aired in lieu of a live show, and that Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo will take two things to "sort things out" and that they will debut a new Nitro in two weeks on April 10th.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart. Hogan says that it would not be a wise idea to bet against him, as he will not be going on a stretcher and that he will tear The Wall apart one brick at a time. He also says that Vampiro will be watching his back, and if The Wall tries to get away, Vampiro will go after him.

Before the next match, Scott Steiner tells the women in the crowd that he is their hook-up and to "holla if you hear [him]." Jarrett then says he have had a change of heart, and that he will let the women stay at ringside and show what they've got tonight.

Backstage, Buff Bagwell and Curt Hennig argue, as it appears that they are not on the same page due to Buff Bagwell being seemingly too focused on women.

When asked about the return of Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo to WCW creative, The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea says "it sucks" and that they will both run the company to the ground and that it will be the end for everyone. He then says "the boys in the back" wanted him to say that, and says that both men have done great things in the company and that both men, especially Bischoff, deserve another shot.

We see even more footage from Spring Break-Out 2000.

Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner beat Buff Bagwell and Curt Hennig with a Steiner Recliner to Hennig after Bagwell is distracted by Jarrett's women and Jarrett hits Hennig with a guitar shot to the head while Nick Patrick is distracted.

When asked about the return of Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo to WCW creative, Big Vito says it is something good for WCW and that WCW will get back on top in the ratings and in people's hearts.

The Wall beats Hulk Hogan by disqualification after Vampiro attacks The Wall. After the match, Hogan and Vampiro punch The Wall off the apron and into a table, but The Wall gets up and tells Hogan it is not over between them.
