Extreme Nation - ECW on TNN recap for March 10, 2000

Joey Styles and "The Quintessential Studmuffin" Joel Gertner welcome everyone in the ECW Arena to tonight's show. This time, Gertner's naughty nickname of the week has Gertner saying that he will have sex with Cyrus' mom right after the show. It does not take long for Cyrus to show up, and he says that this is "the type of garbage we don't need on this network." Styles gets in Cyrus' face and says he is is willing to risk his job and reputation because he is unwilling to interview "an asshole like [Cyrus]." Styles leaves the ring and flips Cyrus off, then Gertner waves his forearms up and down at Cyrus before leaving the ring along with Styles.

Cyrus is still in the ring. He says that he is TNN, and that he wants the ECW World Television Championship for he is stripping Rob Van Dam of the title and he is starting a tournament for the title that will culminate at Living Dangerously. Bill Alfonso shows up, and Cyrus says he has had it with him, Paul Heyman and the fans, and he is cancelling ECW from TNN, effective immediately, and replacing it with "Extreme Championship Shuffleboard." Cyrus also takes offense to Rob Van Dam sending Bill Alfonso to the ring because he is too scared to meet the network face-to-face. Suddenly, Rob Van Dam shows up with the World Television title, being carried to the ring by Scotty Anton before being given his crutches.

After the commercial break, Cyrus says he is too late and he is cancelling ECW on TNN, and asks if Rob Van Dam is going to have Scotty Anton defend the title. RVD says Scotty has been his friend for years, which is something that Cyrus has never had because he is a "fucking prick." He says that Scotty was the first to call him when he won the TV title two years ago from next month, and the first to call when he got injured. He may have a broken leg, but he is not "David Letterman trying to make a comeback from a triple bypass." Even though his leg has kept him from the ring, it has not kept him from the gym or kept his spirits down, and he tells Cyrus that if he does not watch what he says, it will not keep from "beating [his] fuckin' ass in front of all these people." RVD says he has seen ECW grow from a small independent organization running a few times a months in "shitholes" like Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania to the worldly-known phenomenon it has become today in the last four years, and he has turned down offers from organizations because he believed in Extreme Championship Wrestling. He says that while other wrestlers left ECW for what they thought were greener pastures - with some returns - the fans knew they could count on one thing the whole time: they would get what they paid to see, and that is him, "The Whole Fuckin' Show." He says that this is the path he has carried the company on, and he will be damned if Cyrus puts a stop to that. If Cyrus wants to take everything away, throw away all the time he and the fans have invested in the company put the company back on doing house shows all because of the Television title, then he cannot let that happen. RVD then removes the ECW World Television Championship from his waist, then says ECW will continue on TNN, and wishes Cyrus good luck on filling his shoes as ECW World Television Champion. He drops the title, and intimidates Cyrus by stepping towards him as he tries to pick it up. He takes the title, and RVD tells Cyrus that he will beat the ass of whoever takes the title and do it on TNN when he comes back from injury. Cyrus then yells at Bill Alfonso, telling him to get out of the ring, and Alfonso actually considers fighting Cyrus. Cyrus puts his dukes up, but Rhyno gets in the ring and Gores Alfonso before going at Rob Van Dam.

After the commercial break, Cyrus gloats that he has the ECW World Television Championship, and instead of putting the title on Rhyno, he gets the quarter-finals of the ECW World Television Championship Tournament underway, telling Paul Heyman to bring the best he has got. Spike Dudley shows up to accept the challenge.

Rhino beats Spike Dudley to continue to the semi-finals of the ECW World Television Championship Tournament. During the match, Steve Corino and Jack Victory get involved, and as Spike Dudley fights them off, he gets Gored into a table in the corner by Rhino, which tweaks Spike's knee. Spike tries to fight back, but Rhino gets him up for a piledriver to get the win.

It is announced that Spike Dudley has been taken to a local hospital.

The Impact Players (Justin Credible and Lance Storm) beat Team No Respect (Jado and Gedo) in an intense match.

Mike Awesome and Raven beat "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer and Masato Tanaka to become the ECW World Tag Team Champions, making Mike Awesome a double champion.

The Sinister Minister talks about Rob Van Dam relinquishing the ECW World Television Championship and the network wanting the title only on Rhino only for Super Crazy to stand up to the network. He also mentions "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer and Masato Tanaka losing the ECW World Tag Team Championships to Mike Awesome and Raven, and The Impact Players (Justin Credible and Lance Storm) wanting a three-way dance. It looks to him Living Dangerously is going to be a head-on collision. The camea zooms out to show The Sinister Minister sitting on a totaled car as he laughs, and the show ends.
