Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for December 6, 1999

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Jeff Jarrett to start the show. Jarrett yanks the microphone from Okerlund, and tells him he will take it from here. He then says that whether the fans like it or not, he is the chosen one, and he does not need the powers that be or The Outsiders, and that all he needs is the WCW World Heavyweight Championship around his waist. He then mentions that Dustin Rhodes has screwed him out of his destiny, and it seems to him that he will be ending his career at Starrcade. He will even give him the benefit of the doubt, and beat him at his own game in a Bunkhouse Brawl, which he mentions that Dustin's father "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes invented. He says Dustin turned the wrong knob, and he will make an example out of him at Starrcade. He then dares anyone who wants to challenge him tonight to bring it on, whether it be Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Goldberg or Mike Tenay, whom he says will never show his face again when he asks Okerlund where Tenay is. Tenay suddenly shows up, and says since nobody is doing it, he might as well take matters into his own hands. Jarrett tries to suddenly chalk up last week as a misunderstanding, and tells him that if he sticks his nose in his business, he won't be around to file a lawsuit. Afterwards, Jarrett attacks Tenay from behind and puts him in the Figure Four Leg Lock while Okerlund runs away. Goldberg shows up and chases Jarrett out of the ring.

Tony Marinara tells Johnny The Bull and Big Vito to stop screwing up, as he wants Disco Inferno and Lash LeRoux to see the boss tonight.

We see footage of Brian Knobbs looking for Fit Finley on a nature path. It becomes clear that Finley is whipping Knobbs into shape like some sort of army recruit.

"Screamin'" Norman Smiley says Fit Finley is lucky he is not here tonight, for if he was, he would kick his booty. Since he isn't here, however, he is issuing an open challenge to anyone who thinks they can beat him in a hardcore match. That challenged is answered by Rhonda Sing.

"Screamin'" Norman Smiley retains the WCW Hardcore Championship against Rhonda Sing.

The Maestro and Symphony are seen at the piano when The Maestro notices the piano is out of tune. When he and Symphony check on it, David Flair shows up from behind, kidnaps Symphony and whacks the cover of the piano on The Maestro's head.

Vince Russo is seen talking to Psychosis and La Parka. Jushin "Thunder" Liger has a return match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship, but Juventud Guerrera is out with a broken arm. (In reality, Juvi and Jerry Flynn were arrested for driving under the influence, forcing him to no-show this week.) Since La Parka and Psychosis are friends with Juvi, their friendship will be severed down the middle as they will face each other in a match where the winner defends the Junior Heavyweight Championship. Before Russo can finish asking them what they think of the match, Psychosis attacks La Parka from out of nowhere.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart is seen entering the building.

The Total Package knocks on Miss Elizabeth's dressing room door, and tells her that tonight is the night and that they need to talk about it. Elizabeth is reluctant, but she opens the door after he says he has champagne.

Tony Marinari gets a knock on the door for pizza, but when he answers, Disco Inferno and Lash LeRoux are on the other side.

Psychosis defends the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship in the place of Juventud Guerrera for the next match.

Jushin "Thunder" Liger beats Psychosis to win back the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. (The scripting of the defenses of the title from last week and this week is so embarrassing to New Japan Pro Wrestling that they refuse to mention it themselves, much less acknowledge it, and the Japanese sports media does not even cover it as a result. Juventud Guerrera's seven day reign, which includes Psychosis' substitute title defense and loss, is not officially recognized by NJPW until 2007.) During the match, it is announced that three new entries in the WCW Superstars Series, Sid Vicious: The Millennium Man, Sting II: Back In Black, and the Nitro Girls swimsuit special are all officially available on VHS. After this, Buzzkill is is seen carrying a sign in the crowd. After the match, La Parka runs in and hits Psychosis in the head with a chair.

Three of the Nitro Girls are playing poker and talking about Spice with Johnny The Bull and Big Vito show up. Big Vito offers to teach them how to play poker if they allow them in for a game of strip poker. Johnny The Bull is more pre-occupied with Disco Inferno and Lash LeRoux, but Big Vito insists.

The Total Package asks Miss Elizabeth for her help tonight, as they are destined to be a team together.

The Maestro is seen looking for Symphony backstage.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Mona. She says she is more than "T&A," and while Medusa may have Evan Karagias in a trance, she is here to compete. Tonight, she will take out Madusa and Karagias if she has to and prove a woman can compete in a man's world.

Madusa beats . During the match, Evan Karagias moves to the commentary tables instead of taking part in the match. When he gets in the ring to check n Madusa, Madusa inadvertently puts Karagias in an inside cradle to win. After the match, Jarrett tosses Evan Karagias out of the ring after attacking him from behind, then smashes his guitar into Madusa's head. He then says that if Goldberg wants to step into his spotlight, then tonight, he can step into his world and face him in the ring to find out who's next.

Disco Inferno and Lash LeRoux have Tony Marinara tied up, and they have a surprise for him.

Miss Elizabeth agrees to team up with The Total Package....then pours champagne all over his head.

The Maestro is still looking for Symphony. Unbeknownst to him, Symphony and her kidnapper David Flair are right behind him.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Vampiro - who is wearing Oklahoma's hat - and Jerry Only. Vampiro says that when you have a thorn in your side, it draws blood and it hurts, and it gets him excited. He says that "Dr. Death" Steve Williams are Oklahoma think they can play with the big boys, but they are walking down a dark road, and tonight, the path begins.

Oklahoma and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams beat Vampiro and Jerry Only after Oklahoma hits an elbow drop from the bottom rope. He then gets his hat back.

The Nitro Girls are playing strip poker, and cheat to win with a Royal Flush by telling Big Vito that they see Disco Inferno nearby only to be mistaken.

Disco Inferno pours a jar of molasses into a bucket, and Lash LeRoux pulls out a garbage bag full of feathers as they both prepare to "tar and feather" Tony Marinara.

"Mean" Gene Oklerund interviews The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall). Hall says that Sting is going in the trash just like the Television title, and as far as "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit goes, he invented the ladder match, which makes Starrcade like a night off for him. Nash says Benoit has to make tit to Starrcade to make it to the match, and he plans to use Benoit as a tune-up.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against The Total Package. During the match, Miss Elizabeth shows up, but so does Sting, and he asks her if she will represent garbage of if she will represent him. This distracts The Total Package, who gets put in the Sharpshooter and forced to tap out when Miss Elizabeth leaves him for Sting.

Vince Russo wants to know from Curt Hennig what the deal is with Curly Bill aka Vincent. Hennig says he has known Vincent aka Curly Bill, and knows that he can get hired for something. Vince gives Vincent aka Curly Bill three seconds, and he says "One word...Shane." Vince likes the idea and hires him. Rhonda Sing then shows up in the office.

Midnight is seen looking for Booker T backstage.

Vince Russo names La Parka his official chairman. He asks him to stand his corner, and when he cracks his knuckles, he will hit whoever is in front of him with his steel chair. Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) shows up, and Vince gives them a shot at the tag team titles at Starrcade, wishes them all the luck in the world, and then cracks his knuckles to send the signal to La Parka to whack Booker T in the back of the head with the steel chair. Everyone else in the room attacks both members of Harlem Heat.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper shows up out of the back of a limousine .

David Flair is seen rocking back and forth with his hand around Symphony's mouth, and screams "Shut up!" as if he is hearing voices and wants them to stop.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Jerry Flynn. He says The Wall prove to him he was a great fighter, but Berlyn shows up and broke the two men only rule and make a great mistake in doing so, and now neither man is in the buliding. He then issues an open challenge for anyone to face in The Block.

Before the next match, The Revolution (Shane Douglas, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Asya) shows up dressed in all back, and Douglas says they have a bone to pick with the fans tonight, as he has his constitutional right to do whatever he wants too do with the American flag. He says The Revolution did not turn their backs on America; instead, America turned its backs on them. He says that they can call him an asshole all they want, but it is their fault. Tonight, they wrap up the American flag and unfurl their own. Saturn says what we are looking at is a tight-knit militant group like The Black Panthers.

Asya vs. Midnight ends when The Revolution (Shane Douglas, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn attacks Midnight. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan shows up and fights off The Revolution, but he is immediately overpowered and knocked out by the cast on Shane Douglas' left arm. He is then draped with the flag of The Revolution.

"The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko is backstage, looking for the powers that be, whom he has a meeting with.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper is seen ranting about his match with Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) backstage.

The Nitro Party segment is back, and we see a video from a fan from Peoria, Illinois. We then see a woman in a tanktop, blue jeans, black hair and black lipstick named Daffney Unger, and it becomes evident by the professional-looking nature of the video that this is a vignette, and not actually real Nitro party footage. She says that she loves all the superstars of WCW and has always wanted to host a Nitro Party and thinks David Flair is totally cool (as pictures of David Flair can be seen in the background). She is also seen rocking back and forth, much like David Flair from earlier.

Before the next match, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper tells Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) to get in the ring, as he is the referee according to the powers that be, and until the bell rings, they have to do what he says. He pats down one member of Creative Control and threatens to disqualify the team unless the other member complies. After both men are hilariously patted down, he announces that the next match is an "I Quit" Match, then kicks one member of Creative Control in the groin when he says there are no rules.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper beats Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) in an "I Quit" Match in which Piper is also the referee. During the match, Goldberg stops Creative Control from piledriving Piper onto a steel chair. Piper then chokes one of the two men in Creative Control with a leather belt, and makes him say "I quit." After the match, Piper raises Goldberg's arm in victory. Goldberg tells Piper "Now we're even."

Disco Inferno and Lash LeRoux tell Tony Marinari they could have really hurt him, but say that what they have in mind is better. They pour molasses on him and proceed to cover him with feathers. Meanwhile, Johnny The Bull and Big Vito are down to their boxers in the strip poker, while The Nitro Girls are still fully clothed. Big Vito says he has the mother of all hands that will beat everybody else's hands.

The Maestro finds one of Symphony's shoes as he continues to look for Symphony backstage.

Dustin Rhodes vs. Meng ends in a no-contest. During the match, Jeff Jarrett shows up and sends Meng over the top rope before fighting Dustin Rhodes. Dustin gets the upper hand, however, and before he can go for Shattered Dreams, The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) run in and attack Dustin Rhodes. Meng gets back in the ring, but gets nailed in the head with a guitar by Jarrett. Kevin Nash then hits Dustin Rhodes with a Jackknife Power Bomb.

Vince Russo asks "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko why he thinks Thunder sucks. He says that is because the powers that be are putting it together, as there are no stars on the show and that there are nothing but B-players. Vince says that will all change next week, as all the A-players will be on the show next week, and that he is so happy about the announcement, he will be changing the announce team after Zbyszko has taken so many shots at him. Zbyszko says the announce team is the only part that makes any sense, and that he is still on the announce table because after 25 glorious years of getting beat to a pulp and being cheered for at the announce table, it is all worth it. He says he doesn't need the job and that he will not be one of his "jump through the hoop jerks" like Curt Hennig, whom he says is so beaten up now that he could not beat Midnight two weeks ago. Vince Russo then puts Zbyszko and Hennig in a match, and if Zbyzsko loses, he is fired. Zbysko calls this "a lopsided coin" and says that if he wins, then Vince Russo should be the one to leave. Vince Russo accepts, saying this will never happen, and tells Zbyszko to leave the office.

We see a man who is dressed like Prince with a dove in his hands as he looks at candles and electric piano music plays. It is then announced that this is "The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea."

"The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko beats Curt Hennig...almost. During the match, Zbyszko inadvertently whips Hennig into referee Charles Robinson, sandwiching him into the corner. Vincent - now known as Shane - attacks Zbyszko when he gets Hennig in a traingle hold following a DDT. "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson then shows up and hits both Shane and Hennig with a baseball bat, and Zbyszko gets on top of Hennig to win the match and kick out the powers that be. After the match, Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) show up and show referee Charles Robinson the replay of what Anderson did. Robinson reverses the decision, and Curt Hennig wins by disqualification. As a result, Zbyszko is gone from WCW.

Disco Inferno and Lash LeRoux place an apple into the mouth of a tar and feathered Tony Marinara, who then falls over in his tear.

Johnny The Bull and Big Vito have to cut the strip poker game short - and get their clothes back on - when they see a tarred and feathered Tony Marinara on the nearby monitor.

Scott Hall guests on commentary for the next match, and sits on top of a ladder as he watches the match from ringside.

. During the match, Scott Hall jabs the referee with his ladder, and as Benoit fights Hall, Nash picks up the ladder. Benoit runs around and drop kicks the ladder into him, then uses the ladder to hit Nash to hit a diving headbutt off the top. He dives onto Scott Hall when he gets back in the ring, then Nash hits Benoit with a big bot. Nash then hits Benoit with a Jackknife Power Bomb before Hall puts Benoit in the Outsider's Edge onto the ladder. As he attempts this, Sid Vicious shows up and pulls Benoit out of the move before helping him to the back.

Diamond Dallas Page is seen in the building, as Johnny The Bull and Big Vito are seen heading towards the ring.

Log on to WCW.com to answer this week's Mayhem question to earn a chance for the "Mayhem for the Holidays." It is announced that the answer to the question is "Norman Smiley."

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Sting, who says that he has always stayed stayed one step ahead of The Total Package, and tells The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) "Don't sing it...bring it!"

Johnny The Bull and Big Vito show up. Big Vito says he is tired of the fans as well as Disco Inferno and Lash LeRoux. Last week, they mad ea fool out of them and the boss, and they do not like that. He then calls out Disco and Lash to the ring so they can throw a beating they've never felt before that is so bad their mothers won't recognize them. Disco and Lash show up. Instead of Disco and Lash, they get the twins from last week, and Johnny The Bull said his mother told him never to hit a woman, but tonight, he is willing to make an exception. As Big Vito yells at the women, telling them they are so ugly he does not even want to sleep with them, Disco and Lash attack Big Vito and Johnny from behind. As they do, Tony Marinara shows up and hits both Disco and Lash in the gut with a wooden stick, knocking them out. Big Vito and Johnny take Disco and Lash to the back.

The Maestro is still looking for Symphony.

Big Vito and Johnny The Bull put Disco Inferno and Lash LeRoux in the back of a car and celebrate. All of a sudden, Disco and Lash come to and take control of the car, driving it away.

The Maestro is still seen looking for Symphony again. Unfortunately, he walks right into The Block and into Jerry Flynn, which starts an impromptu match between both men which does not last long as The Maestro gets knocked out. Jerry Flynn then opens a door only to be clocked in the head with a crowbar by David Flair. Flair then leaves, with Symphony's head still around his arm.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews referee Nick Patrick. In the match between Sting and Scott Hall, everyone is banned from ringside unless they have legal business at ringside, as it is time that the referees of WCW took some power back.

Miss Elizabeth hands Sting some legal documents, and Sting reads through them.

Kevin Nash guests on commentary for the next match; he gets ejected later on due to choking Sting out with his headset cord.

Sting beats Scott Hall with the Scorpion Deathlock. During the match, Miss Elizabeth distracts Scott Hall as referee Nick Patrick checks on Sting, and maces Hall in the eyes. After two Stinger Splashes, Sting wins it with the Scorpion Deathlock.

David Flair is seen taking Symphony towards the ring.

Diamond Dallas Page is seen heading towards the ring.

David Flair shows up, forcing Symphony to the ring. He tells The Maestro he has ten seconds to claim his bride, then tells Symphony to shut up. Instead of The Maestro, he gets Diamond Dallas Page, who immediately nails David Flair with a Diamond Dallas Page. He then tells the powers that be that he has his Starrcade match with David Flair right here. He says that it is funny when you leave for eight weeks, and you cannot believe the rumors that start up. Recently, he has heard that he wanted out of his contract with WCW because he wanted to go to the WWF. He then says that you leave with who brought you to the dance. He says it's about loyalty and doing the right thing, but people around him haven't done the right thing and have not been loyal. He is now out for #1 again, and that is all right with him. He then tells the powers that be that if they want him to work for them, all they have to do is bring Sid Vicious to the ring so they can "turn this mother out."

Diamond Dallas Page vs. Sid Vicious ends in a no-contest. During the match, Sid Vicious pushes Diamond Dallas Page into the referee as DDP goes for the Diamond Cutter, and hits DDP with a powerbomb. When Sid goes for another, The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) show up, and while Sid takes them on, The Outsiders get the other hand until "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit shows up and evens the odds. Jeff Jarrett then shows up and attacks both Sid and Benoit from behind, but Bret "The Hit Man" Hart shows up and brawls with Jarrett. Referees and security finally get into the ring to restore order. Nick Patrick then grabs a microphone and says that the referees have had no control all night, and dictates that tonight's main event is a lumberjack match, and if they want to govern themselves and beat the crap out of each other, so be it. He then says security and the referees are out of there. Referees and member of security suddenly leave the ring and let the wrestler sort each other out.

Goldberg runs into the ring and fights Jeff Jarrett, Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) and The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall). Suddenly, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper shows up to become the referee for the next match. He makes Jarrett, Creative Control, Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, "The Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit and Sid Vicious lumberjack. Jeff Jarrett wants nothing to do with the match, but three members of the Green Bay Packers come out form the back and block Jarrett, who is then attacked by Dustin Rhodes.

Goldberg beats Jeff Jarrett in a Lumberjack Match. As the lumberjacks go at it, Jarrett smacks Goldberg with a steel chair, then tells Piper to count the pinfall. This leads to a two-count, Later on in the match, Kevin Nash stops a Spear attempt, and as the lumberjacks fight each other again, Bret "The Hit Man' Hart nails Jarrett with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship before Goldberg hits Jarrett with the Spear and the Jackhammer for the win.
