Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for October 18, 1999

A black limousine pulls up to the arena at the start of the show. Out of the back seat comes three men in suits with briefcases in their hands as well as Sid Vicious, who is also wearing a suit. They head into the building.

Juventud Guerrera vs. Evan Karagias ends when Bret "The Hit Man" Hart shows up with a microphone and hijacks the match to make time for himself as he supposedly had no time for an interview. He says he left WWF and came to WCW two years ago to face Hulk Hogan and win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, but he keeps being lied to. When a few new guys show up, politics rear their ugly head again and he is told his World title match will never happen. All of a sudden, Sting shows up. He tells Bret to join him in the real world and realize one thing: promises do not come true in this business. He tells him he has Bret's legacy "right here" before performing a crotch chop, and says nobody cares if he has been screwed as everyone has been screwed in the business. He tells Bret that if he can put his attention to Hulk Hogan to one side for the moment, he will give him a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship tonight. He then says it's showtime.

Tony Schiavone announces that two weeks ago, Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara - originally part of the creative team for World Wrestling Federation - jumped ship to World Championship Wrestling, and that tonight is their first night in WCW. Schiavone says tonight will be a Nitro unlike which we have ever seen. Along with some title matches being announced, a New York Evening Gown Match between Madusa and Mona is announced.

She says that is for women who want to get somewhere quickly, while she is a world champion. She says she is a porfessional and is here to kick somebody's butt. She says she is not wearing an evening gown, taht she is done, and that whoever came up with this is crazy. She is through, and she then leaves.

Goldberg runs in and Spears one of the attorneys who is thrown into his path by Sid, then Sid hits Goldberg with a big boot before putting him in a powerbomb.
