Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for July 13, 1998
The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls.
"nWo Hollywood shows up. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan says the propaganda is about to stop, as he proved that black and white are the real colors and true powers of professional wrestling last night. He tells Goldberg his day are numbered and that he is on his trail, and he will prove to the world that he is a flash in the pan. Hogan says he has the family intact, and to stay on track, nWo Hollywood will be bonded for eternity. That, however, comes with bumps in the road. He is all eyes and all ears, and if it wasn't for Scott Hall, he would still be the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Hogan says he has heard that Scott Hall has said that Hollywood may not be the man and that it's time for him to run the show, and challenges him to a match tonight to see what he is made of. Hall takes the microphone, and confronts his loyalty for the black-and-white, saying he has done everything Hogan has told him to as he needs the money. He then says Goldberg beat him, then took Hogan's title. Hall says that if Hogan wants a piece of him, don't sing it, bring it. Hogan tells him he's got it, and that tonight, they draw the line. Hogan then thinks Bischoff is laughing, and Bischoff says he's not laughing. Hogan says the match with Goldberg should have never taken place, and wants to know where Bischoff is coming from. He makes Bischoff the referee for the match between himself and Scott Hall, though Bischoff says he doesn't know how to referee a match and doesn't want to be in the middle of this. Hall makes it clear he wants Hogan, and Hogan tells Hall he has a decision to make tonight. As for other problems that haven't been taken care of, there is a reason The Disciple is with him. The Disciple takes the microphone and calls out Diamond Dallas Page for hitting him in the back of the head with a steel chair, and not getting the job done as he is still here with 47 stitches in his head. He calls DDP out, saying that if he has guts in his body, he will meet him in the ring one-on-one so they can settle it once and for all, as the Apocalypse from Bash at the Beach was nothing compared to what he will do to him tonight.
The Barbarian beats Horace after kicking a stop sign into Horace's face. Before the match, it is announced that the encore for Bash at the Beach is tomorrow night on pay-per-view. After the match, Raven's Flock goes after The Barbarian, and the numbers game catches up. Suddenly, Meng shows up for the first time since February and helps out his former tag team partner, clearing the Flock out of the ring. After this, Meng puts The Barbarian in the Tongan Death Grip.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Curt Hennig and Rick Rude. Rude says he was forced to be at home during Bash at the Beach, and he and his family were forced to watch in vain as Hennig lost to Goldberg on a bad knee as someone canceled his flight (which he blames on Goldberg). Hennig says that last night at Bash at the Beach, he learned Goldberg's weakness, and challenges Goldberg to another match. He asks Rude to stay in the back during the match so that "Goldberg won't have something to cry about" when he wins. Rude asks Hennig if he is sure about going on his own, but Hennig is sure. As for that weakness, we won't find out what it is until the match is over, and Hennig tells us we are looking at the next WCW World Heavyweight Champion.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon, who brings out Rey Mysterio, Jr. Suddenly, Chris Jericho shows up with a book in his hands, which happens to be the WCW rulebook. He quotes page 257, saying "For the safety of the athletes involved, if the event of a wrestler being suspended, he must not be present at the event from which he is suspended, and if he is present and involved in the outcome of said match, the decision of the aforementioned match is null and void." As per the rule, the match never took place, and Jericho is Cruiserweight Champion once again thanks to the interference from Dean Malenko last night. Rey is forced to give up the Cruiserweight Championship. Suddenly, Dean Malenko show up, and tells Jericho he will not get away with this. Jericho says he is a fair man, and tells the two of them to face each other in a match to decide who will face him for the Cruiserweight title. Both men accept the challenge.

Bagwell says it's hard to watch Nitro with his injury, and that everything is so confusing that rehabilitation is more important. He wants Rick Steiner, the man who injured him, as he has something to say to him. Rick Steiner, who hasn't been seen in some time, shows up with a cast around his right arm. Before anything can happen, however, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and The Disciple show up. Hogan says the only thing he hates more than a couple of cowards is a couple of cripples, and tells him that when he joined the black-and-white nWo, he joined for life, and tells him to start acting like a man. He says all the "babyface crap" has turned him from Buff Bagwell to "Creampuff Bagwell" and that looking at him makes him sick. Hogan then pushes Bagwell down along with the wheelchair, and leaves with The Disciple.
Bret "The Hit Man" Hart beats Fit Finley with the Sharpshooter.

Stevie Ray shows up with the WCW World Television Championship before the next match.
Stevie Ray beats Rick Martel, who has returned from a knee injury suffered at SuperBrawl VIII, after Bret "The Hit Man" Hart hits Martel in the back of the neck with a steel chair as he has Stevie Ray in the Quebec Crab. (During the match, Martel injures his neck while trying to protect his knee, and the match proves to be his final one before retirement. In an interview on WWE.com years later, Rick Martel said that when he injured his neck, he knew his career was over.) After the match, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Stevie Ray, who says that Booker T is in the hospital recovering from an injury that he received last night, and that he has the WCW World Television Championship because his brother gave him power of attorney to defend the title against any and all comers like Rick Martel, and says he has the documents to prove it and that he'll have them next week as he was in a hurry to get on the plane to the arena tonight.
Konnan beats Barry Darsow with the Tequila Sunrise.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Diamond Dallas Page. DDP calls The Disciple "'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan's shadow," and makes fun of him for complaining about having his head busted open, and says he's been put through much more and he's not crying. He tells The Disciple that if he wants some, to come get some, as he will feel the bang. The Disciple shows up immediately.
Diamond Dallas Page beats The Disciple by rolling him up after pushing him into Rick Rude, who is on the apron after getting a cheap shot in on DDP. On his way out, DDP is attacked by "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan with a steel chair, and The Disciple, Rude and Vincent hold DDP up while Hogan hits him with the chair again.
Raven beats Saturn and Kanyon in a three-way dance by count-out. Saturn and Kanyon continue to fight to the commentary table before the commercial break. Before the match, it is announced that WCW has been handed a directive by "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan's lawyers not to call him "Hulk Hogan" anymore and that his name is now simply "Hollywood Hogan."

Rey Mysterio, Jr. beats Dean Malenko to become #1 contender for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship after Chris Jericho shows up and blasts Malenko in the back with the Cruiserweight title following a top rope gutbuster to Rey.
Before the next match, Alex Wright speaks to the fans in German, then Disco Inferno says that he had his match last night won until Lex Luger attacked Alex Wright and Kevin Nash hit him with a Jackknife Power Bomb. He says he and Wright don't play that way, and call out Lex Luger and Kevin Nash so they can pay them back.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Steve "Mongo" McMichael ends in a no-contest after a now-completely bald Chavo Guerrero, Jr. shows up wearing a cowboy hat and riding Pepe and dances around Mongo, saying he wants to be one of the Four Horsemen. Eddie dop kicks Chavo into Mongo, who hits Chavo with the Mongo Spike.
Hollywood Hogan vs. Scott Hall ends in a no-contest after Diamond Dallas Pge runs in, attacks The Disciple and hits special guest referee Eric Bischoff with a Diamond Cutter. Hogan and Disciple beat up DDP, then Nash runs in and takes out Hogan and The Disciple before giving the "too sweet" to Hall. Nash grabs Hogan, but Hall repays Nash for his help by turning back on him as he has Hogan ready for the Jackknife Power Bomb. Hogan straddles DDP on the rope while The Disciple punches DDP in the face. Hogan hits DDP with a leg drop and Vincent enters the ring while Hall slaps Nash around.

"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels starts the show in his first appearance since WrestleMania 14. He then guests on commentary for the show, saying it's good to be back and that nobody knows when he will get back in the ring. Kane, Paul Bearer and Mankind show up before The Undertaker and Vader square off, and watch from ringside.
The Undertaker beats Vader. After the match, Mankind is about to hit The Undertaker with a steel chair, but Kane takes it away from him. The Undertaker leaves the ring to get one of his own as Kane nails Vader, then Kane and Mankind leave. Edge is then seen in the crowd before the commercial break.
Charles Wey and Tyrone Wheaton of the New York Giants are seen in the front row.
"Bodacious" Bart Gunn beats "Bombastic" Bob Holly simply by landing more punches to continue on to the next round of the Brawl For All Tournament, with neither man attempting a takedown. Before the match, Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler make a slight dig at Bash at the Beach, saying "The Mailman [Karl Malone] didn't deliver." At this point, the unofficial results just shows the score and do not show the points breakdown. Also, WWF referees are used for matches from this point forward. After the match, Bob Holly swipes at Bart Gunn, and both men have to be pulled apart.

Jason Sensation, the Owen Hart impersonator from last week's parody of The Nation ("The Rock" Rocky Maivia, Owen Hart, D'Lo Brown, "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry, guests on commentary and imitates Owen Hart, Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, The Undertaker, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Backstage, The Rock says he's flattered, but says nobody can ever be The People's Champ. The Godfather tells "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn that if he wants to be a pimp, he'll show him that "pimpin' ain't easy." (Author's note: that sounds familiar.) Mark Henry tells X-Pac he should be worried about his hands around his neck. D'Lo Brown tells "Road Dog" Jesse James he's not the one to mess with, and Owen Hart says that if Jason Sensation thinks he's funny, he'll slap the piss out of him. Jason Sensation continues to imitate Owen Hart to the point that he runs into the arena and slaps Jason Sensation before tossing him into the ring and putting him in the Sharpshooter. The rest of The Nation has to calm owen down, and D-Generation X's ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) to fight off The Nation.
We see footage from during the break where D-Generation X's ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) helps Jason Sensation to the back.
D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Helmsley and X-Pac) beat The Nation ("The Rock" Rocky Maivia and Owen Hart) after Chyna distracts the referee so that Triple H can nail The Rock with the European Championship.
Sable guests on commentary for the next match. She says that the bathing suit she will be wearing at Fully Loaded will make the suit she wore at the Slammy Awards look like an evening gown. Sable also she is not at liberty to discuss her professional relationship with WWF owner Vince McMahon which allowed her to return to the World Wrestling Federation.
"The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman beats "Marvelous" Marc Mero. At one point in the match, Jacqueline confronts Sable at commentary, allowing Mero to hit Blackman with a low blow as referee Jimmy Korderas is trying to keep them apart. Jacqueline tries to hit a splash on Blackman, but Sable crotches her on the top rope and Blackman is able to recover.
WAR ZONE
The Undertaker shows up before the next match and watches from ringside.
Kane and Mankind beat The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) to become the WWF Tag Team Champions. "The Rock" Rocky Maivia and Owen Hart show up during the match and watch from the entrance ramp, but "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and X-Pac show up and attack them from behind. The ensuing brouhaha distracts referee Tim White, allowing D'Lo Brown to show up from out of the crowd and hit Road Dog with a frog splash from the top as "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry also shows up, allowing Kane to hit Road Dog with a Tombstone Piledriver for the win as referees and officials try to break up the ringside brawls.
"Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley asks WWF owner Vince McMahon for a tag team title re-match and even makes the case for Vince being special guest referee. Vince tells Triple H that he knows The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) were screwed out of the tag team titles, and that he will give it some thought.
Kaientai (Dick Togo, Men's Teioh, Sho Funaki) beat Taka Michinoku and Too Much ("Too Sexy" Brian Christopher and "Too Hot" Scott Taylor) after some miscommunication between Taka and Taylor. After the match, Christopher attacks Taka and tosses him out of the ring. Val Venis then shows up and tells Yamaguchi-san last week, while Kaientai came out and attacked him from behind and he slapped him across the face, he realized two things: he was wrong and that no man should ever mess with another man's wife. With that in mind, he offers him his most deepest, sincere apologies, and to show exactly how sincere he is, he offers him a special viewing of his latest video entitled "Land of the Rising Venis." The sexual acts are mosaic blurred, and then it is revealed that he slept with Yamaguchi-san's wife. Venis tells him that when they get a taste of "The Big Valbowski," they never, ever come back. Yamaguchi-san is distraught.
WWF owner Vince McMahon shows up. He introduces "the most demonic, twisted soul in the history of the WWF," The Undertaker. Vince asks what The Undertaker won't do to become WWF Champion, mentioning what he did to Mankind at King of the Ring and choke slamming nearly every WWF Superstar into oblivion before disguising himself as Kane and fooling everyone, including himself. Vince says that The Undertaker had to have had some help from his brother Kane, and refuses to answer everyone who has asked about. Vince says that he won't refuse to answer him, however, and asks The Undertaker if he is in cahoots with his brother Kane. The Undertaker tells Vince that if he wants an answer, he can go to Hell. Vince asks The Undertaker who he thinks he is, then "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up. Austin tells Vince that The Undertaker told him to go to Hell, and to spin around so he can kick him in the ass and give him a head-start. As far as The Undertaker goes, at least he had the decency to challenge him face-to-face like a man, and that he can respect that, but the problem is that they are tag team partners at Fully Loaded against Kane and Mankind. He wants to know if it's the two of them against two opponents, or if it will be him against three opponents, and he wants to know where The Undertaker is coming from. The Undertaker tells Austin to go to Hell with him. Suddenly, D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna, X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) shows up. Triple H says everyone is looking for answers, then calls Austin and The Undertaker "the two toughest S.O.B.s in the business today," before saying that Road Dog and Billy Gunn will get their rematch and that Vince will find out if The Undertaker and Kane are in cahoots. Triple H then demands three referees for the tag team title rematch: one on the inside, and two special guest enforcers on the outside: Austin and The Undertaker. Vince gives them the tag team rematch without hesitation, then DX tells Vince to suck it.
Dan "The Beast" Severn beats "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa by scoring more points to continue on to the next round in the Brawl For All Tournament. The fans are heard booing at the end of the match.
Before the next match, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up with a cooler full of cans of beer.
. During the match, Mankind is whipped into referee Mike Chioda, knocking him out. "Stone Cold" Steve AUstin tries to make a pinfall with Road Dog has Kane in a small package, but The Undertaker pulls him out of the ring and Kane hits Road Dog with a choke slam. The Undertaker makes the pin for Kane, but Austin interrupts the count. Kane hits Austin with a cheap shot as Austin confronts The Undertaker, then Kane and Mankind brawl with Austin and The Undertaker. The Nation ("The Rock" Rocky Maivia, Owen Hart, D'Lo Brown, "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry) runs in, as does the rest of D-Generation X, ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn), and The Nation and DX brawl in the ring along with the other four men as the show ends.

Bash At The Beach 1998 - The Results
Raven beats Saturn in a no-disqualification match with help from Riggs and the interference of Kanyon, who saves Raven from being put through two tables so he can hit him with the Flatliner while referee Nick Patrick is still down from a running drop kick by Saturn.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Eddie Guerrero. Eddie says when he went home the other night and looked forward to this match, he admits he was concerned as Chavo Guerrero, Jr. wasn't all there, but when Chavo brought out the hair vs. hair challenge, he knew he was nuts and that all he had to do is come in and pick up what's left on him, as Stevie Ray will leave him lying in the ring with no hope whatsoever, and shave him bald.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. shows up with an inner tube and a Super Soaker before the next match, and shoots water into the crowd. Eddie Guerrero arrives before the match starts with a pair of scissors, and Chavo dedicates the match to Eddie.
Stevie Ray beats Chavo Guerrero, Jr. after they shake hands only for Chavo to tap out when Stevie Ray pulls at his hand. Stevie Ray is not happy with the win, and it becomes apparent he was saving his stamina for Eddie.
Eddie Guerrero beats Chavo Guerrero, Jr. in a Hair vs. Hair Match when Chavo tries to cut Eddie's hair with the scissors early only for Eddie to roll him up with a small package as referee Charles Robinson tries to take the scissors from him. Eddie leaves the ring without cutting Chavo's hair, as Chavo cuts a few strips off before spraying the fans with water from the Super Soaker again and cutting almost all of his hair off.

They mangle the pronunciation of the word "orale" and "arriba la raza," then the nWo Wolfpac theme plays before they can start dancing again. Kevin Nash - who shows up with Lex Luger and Konnan - says they aren't players, they just crush a lot. Konnan then says in Spanish that this is his house.

During the match, Alex Wright beats up Konnan behind the referee's back after Disco tosses him out of the ring, but Lex Luger grabs Alex Wright and puts him in the Torture Rack. As the referee is concentrating on that, Kevin Nash hits Disco Inferno with the Jackknife Power Bomb, allowing Konnan to apply the Tequila Sunrise for the win.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho says Dean Malenko got himself suspended and robbed the fans of tonight's match, but he refuses to rob the fans himself. He is about to tap dance with a top hat and cane when WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon shows up and says he probably made a mistake and misjudged him, and if he was wrong about him, he'd be the first person to say so and offer an apology. He feels the fans are a bit disappointed to not see him wrestle and defend the Cruiserweight title. He managed to find a local guy in the area who was willing to wrestle Jericho and hasn't wrestled in six months, and that it's up to Jericho. Jericho tells Dillon to get the match started and make it a no-disqualification match...and the "local guy" is Rey Mysterio Jr., who hasn't been seen since Jericho injured his left knee as he returns with a more refined and more bronze physique.

Bret then works on Booker T's injured right knee with the steel chair before putting Booker T in a Figure Four Leg Lock on the ring post. Stevie Ray shows up just as Hart is letting go of the hold, and helps Booker T to the back alongside referee Billy Silverman and a member of medical staff.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for July 6, 1998
The show begins with a performance by The Nitro Girls.
"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, The Disciple, Eric Bischoff and Miss Elizabeth show up. Hogan has he has some real good news and some real bad news. The good news is that this is the final week before Bash at the Beach, and that the battle plan for Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone is intact, and that it will be Diamond Dallas Page's last match and that Malone will never play basketball again. The bad news is that him vs. Goldberg for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship is not happening, as Goldberg has only beaten a bunch of jabronis and that he is not even in his league, and that WCW disrespected him and Bischoff by not putting enough money on the line. However, just to show that he is a fair man, he's letting the "one or two Goldberg fans on speakerphone" yell their lungs out for Goldberg. Hogan then says he has a "brother" who we haven't seen in a long time, who has called and has asked Hogan to let him get Goldberg out of the way so that Goldberg will suffer his first loss. If lightning strikes in the center of the ring or Goldberg is "lucky enough" to get past him, Hogan will kill Goldberg, Hollywood style. The crowd then chants for Goldberg, yet Hogan says the "Hollywood" Hogan fans will eat up "the one or two Goldberg fans," and that he will feel sorry for him when his "brother" gives him his first loss.
A fans sounds off outside of the arena, saying it's not Madison Square Garden in 1985 anymore, and that "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan will be win #107 for Goldberg.

Booker T retains the WCW World Television Championship against Dean Malenko. During the match, Chris Jericho shows up and tells Dean Malenko to face him once and for all. As a distracted Malenko gets in the ring, Booker T hits him with an Ax Kick.
Goldberg is seen doing push-ups on steel chairs in the locker room.
Karl Malone tells Dennis Rodman he is so disappointed, as he and Diamond Dallas Page showed up last week from Utah and he didn't show. At Bash at the Beach, Rodman will have to show.
Raven beats Kanyon by disqualification after Saturn gets in the ring and fights off Raven and Lodi before accidentally hitting Kanyon with the Death Valley Driver. Saturn then pulls a table out from underneath the ring, then places Raven on it and tries to splash through it. The table doesn't budge, and Saturn gets back in the ring only for Kanyon to hit him with the Flatliner.
A limousine is seen pulling up to the arena, and a wheelchair is taken out of the truck. Buff Bagwell is helped out of the limo by his mother Judy, and placed in the wheelchair, and it is noticed that Bagwell is wearing a neck brace.
Another fan outside of the arena sounds off, saying that "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan has two things to think about: the Spear and the Jackhammer. He says Goldberg is going all the way.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone. DDP says that as far as he is concerned, this will be the worst week of "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan's life, as Hogan has now painted himself into a corner, as no matter who he puts against Goldberg in his hometown, Goldberg is going through them and Hogan will be next. It will make Hogan "one bruised up boy," and at Bash at the Beach, he's going to be "one banged up boy," as will Dennis Rodman as Karl Malone has a special delivery for him, as he will whip him like Madonna should have whipped him and knock the paint right out of his hair, and that he'll be "a Rodzilla killa." DDP tells Hogan and Rodman to get ready to feel the bang. DDP and Malone then leave through the crowd.
We see a video package interspersed with footage of an interview with Steve "Mongo" McMichael and an interview with former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka. Steve "Mongo" McMichael says he hopes everyone realizes why he was a part of The Four Horsemen, as the Horsemen have left a legacy of living in excess and taking championships. He wants to be a part of that, as he has been on top in football. Ditka, says that Mongo had "the warrior heart" and a great will to win when he was part of the Chicago Bears. Mongo says that the Chicago Bears he was part of was a team and a committment to excellence. Ditka says if he could coach 40 Steve McMichaels, he could take on the whole NFL. Mongo says "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson unlocked the barn door and let the horses out onto the field. He says to put the chip back on the shoulder and dare someone to knock it off.
Scott Putski beats Riggs.
We see Goldberg headbutt a steel door to get pumped up backstage.
We look back at Goldberg's first win against Hugh Morrus from last September, then pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.
Another limousine arrives at the arena, and nWo Hollywood are waiting for it. Out of the back door comes Scott Hall, who hasn't been seen in some time. Scott Hall says into the camera "Hey, Goldberg, it's time to go to school, you punk!" as nWo is glad to have him back.
Before the next match, Chris Jericho tells Ultimo Dragon he's not the #1 contender, and that the #1 contender is Rey Mysterio, Jr., who beat him last week. As Jericho speaks, WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon is watching from ringside, and he gets in the ring to tell him that his stunt from last week's Thunder with a mini Rey Mysterio, Jr. isn't going to fly with him, and that he will still meet Ultimo Dragon tonight. Suddenly, Dean Malenko runs in, and Dillon tells them they have been both put on writte notice not to have any physical contact between them prior to Bash at the Beach, and it either man touches the other, it's an instant disqualification. Jericho takes the opportunity to get Malenko's goat, and Dillon tells Malenko that Jericho is trying to bait him in. Dillon tells Jericho it won't work, and if he keeps it up, he'll be asking for it in a no-disqualification match. Jericho says Dillon says is right, then says he and Malenko are two of a kind as their fathers were pro athletes who were constantly on the road. He tells Malenko to think about his parents, and why he and his brother look nothing alike. Malenko snaps and punches Jericho in the face, and WCW security have to pull him off Jericho.
Ultimo Dragon vs. Chris Jericho ends when Dean Malenko gets in the ring and beats Jericho up again. Ultimo Dragon wisely leaves the ring as Malenko rips Jericho's hair out.
After the commerical break, it is announced that Dean Malenko has been arrested by Atlanta, Georgia police and has been thrown out of the Georgia Dome.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.
Before the next match, Johnny Swinger introduces himself and says he's the hottest young commodity in wrestling today, and that the whole world will find out why tonight. Chavo Guerrero, Jr. then shows up with a hard hat on his head and a pair of scissors in his hands.
Chavo Guerrero Jr. beats Johnny Swinger. During he match, it is announced that 39,919 fans are in attendance for tonight's Nitro. After the match, Chavo says he's noticed Johnny Swinger has some split ends and he's got scissors, and decides to cut some of Swinger's hair. He says this was for Eddie Guerrero. He knows he is watching, and has an idea: their match will be a hair vs. hair match. If Eddie wins, he gets to finish the job. If he wins, he gets to cut Eddie's hair.
We look back at Goldberg's 25th win against Glacier at the end of 1997.
Goldberg is seen shadowboxing in the locker room.
When Alex Wright makes his entrance before the next match, Tokyo Magnum is seen dancing behind Wright from several feet away. Magnus then tries to dance with Alex Wright and Disco Inferno again. Magnus leaves the ring when Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) get the first shots in.
Disco Inferno and Alex Wright vs. Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) ends when the match gets out of control. At one point in the match, Tokyo Magnum helps Alex Wright off a table, and Wright and Disco push past Magnum to supposedly leave the ring. Public Enemy beat up Tokyo Magnum, stack two stables on top of each other and put him through both of them. Disco Inferno and Alex Wright then come back with weapons, and referee Mark Curtis has to call for the bell when he cannot restore order.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Buff Bagwell, who is wheeled in by his mother Judy Bagwell. Bagwell tells the Atlanta, Georgia he loves them, and says his ordeal - which led to him nearly dying twice in intensive care - left him wondering if he would see the fans again. He says everyone in the nation kept in such touch with him, and says he loves each and every fan out there. He says that Scott Steiner wanted to bring him out as his co-star next week, and says that he has had such a second look at life to the point that he is amazed he can put a fork in his mouth and that he and Scott Steiner have to go their separate ways. Buff also expresses his love and appreciation for his mother, and says it would take longer than an entire episode of Nitro to explain how much he appreciates her. Bagwell then expresses that he is thankful to be eating and breathing, and gives thanks to the fans and to his mother once again.
We look back to Goldberg's 50th win on February 26th against Rick Fuller.
Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.
Goldberg retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Scott Hall. Scott Hall tries to call for back-up during the match, but they are all picked off from behind by Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone with steel chairs.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls, this time at the commentary table.

(This does not last long, as the WCW United States Championship is vacated after tonight.) Curt Hennig is seen heading to ringside, but Karl Malone and Diamond Dallas Page show up, and Malone hits Hennig with the Diamond Cutter. This distracts Hogan, which allows Goldberg to hit the Spear and the Jackhammer for the win.
"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, The Disciple, Eric Bischoff and Miss Elizabeth show up. Hogan has he has some real good news and some real bad news. The good news is that this is the final week before Bash at the Beach, and that the battle plan for Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone is intact, and that it will be Diamond Dallas Page's last match and that Malone will never play basketball again. The bad news is that him vs. Goldberg for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship is not happening, as Goldberg has only beaten a bunch of jabronis and that he is not even in his league, and that WCW disrespected him and Bischoff by not putting enough money on the line. However, just to show that he is a fair man, he's letting the "one or two Goldberg fans on speakerphone" yell their lungs out for Goldberg. Hogan then says he has a "brother" who we haven't seen in a long time, who has called and has asked Hogan to let him get Goldberg out of the way so that Goldberg will suffer his first loss. If lightning strikes in the center of the ring or Goldberg is "lucky enough" to get past him, Hogan will kill Goldberg, Hollywood style. The crowd then chants for Goldberg, yet Hogan says the "Hollywood" Hogan fans will eat up "the one or two Goldberg fans," and that he will feel sorry for him when his "brother" gives him his first loss.
A fans sounds off outside of the arena, saying it's not Madison Square Garden in 1985 anymore, and that "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan will be win #107 for Goldberg.

Booker T retains the WCW World Television Championship against Dean Malenko. During the match, Chris Jericho shows up and tells Dean Malenko to face him once and for all. As a distracted Malenko gets in the ring, Booker T hits him with an Ax Kick.
Goldberg is seen doing push-ups on steel chairs in the locker room.
Karl Malone tells Dennis Rodman he is so disappointed, as he and Diamond Dallas Page showed up last week from Utah and he didn't show. At Bash at the Beach, Rodman will have to show.
Raven beats Kanyon by disqualification after Saturn gets in the ring and fights off Raven and Lodi before accidentally hitting Kanyon with the Death Valley Driver. Saturn then pulls a table out from underneath the ring, then places Raven on it and tries to splash through it. The table doesn't budge, and Saturn gets back in the ring only for Kanyon to hit him with the Flatliner.
A limousine is seen pulling up to the arena, and a wheelchair is taken out of the truck. Buff Bagwell is helped out of the limo by his mother Judy, and placed in the wheelchair, and it is noticed that Bagwell is wearing a neck brace.
Another fan outside of the arena sounds off, saying that "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan has two things to think about: the Spear and the Jackhammer. He says Goldberg is going all the way.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone. DDP says that as far as he is concerned, this will be the worst week of "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan's life, as Hogan has now painted himself into a corner, as no matter who he puts against Goldberg in his hometown, Goldberg is going through them and Hogan will be next. It will make Hogan "one bruised up boy," and at Bash at the Beach, he's going to be "one banged up boy," as will Dennis Rodman as Karl Malone has a special delivery for him, as he will whip him like Madonna should have whipped him and knock the paint right out of his hair, and that he'll be "a Rodzilla killa." DDP tells Hogan and Rodman to get ready to feel the bang. DDP and Malone then leave through the crowd.
We see a video package interspersed with footage of an interview with Steve "Mongo" McMichael and an interview with former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka. Steve "Mongo" McMichael says he hopes everyone realizes why he was a part of The Four Horsemen, as the Horsemen have left a legacy of living in excess and taking championships. He wants to be a part of that, as he has been on top in football. Ditka, says that Mongo had "the warrior heart" and a great will to win when he was part of the Chicago Bears. Mongo says that the Chicago Bears he was part of was a team and a committment to excellence. Ditka says if he could coach 40 Steve McMichaels, he could take on the whole NFL. Mongo says "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson unlocked the barn door and let the horses out onto the field. He says to put the chip back on the shoulder and dare someone to knock it off.
Scott Putski beats Riggs.
We see Goldberg headbutt a steel door to get pumped up backstage.
We look back at Goldberg's first win against Hugh Morrus from last September, then pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.
Another limousine arrives at the arena, and nWo Hollywood are waiting for it. Out of the back door comes Scott Hall, who hasn't been seen in some time. Scott Hall says into the camera "Hey, Goldberg, it's time to go to school, you punk!" as nWo is glad to have him back.
Before the next match, Chris Jericho tells Ultimo Dragon he's not the #1 contender, and that the #1 contender is Rey Mysterio, Jr., who beat him last week. As Jericho speaks, WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon is watching from ringside, and he gets in the ring to tell him that his stunt from last week's Thunder with a mini Rey Mysterio, Jr. isn't going to fly with him, and that he will still meet Ultimo Dragon tonight. Suddenly, Dean Malenko runs in, and Dillon tells them they have been both put on writte notice not to have any physical contact between them prior to Bash at the Beach, and it either man touches the other, it's an instant disqualification. Jericho takes the opportunity to get Malenko's goat, and Dillon tells Malenko that Jericho is trying to bait him in. Dillon tells Jericho it won't work, and if he keeps it up, he'll be asking for it in a no-disqualification match. Jericho says Dillon says is right, then says he and Malenko are two of a kind as their fathers were pro athletes who were constantly on the road. He tells Malenko to think about his parents, and why he and his brother look nothing alike. Malenko snaps and punches Jericho in the face, and WCW security have to pull him off Jericho.
Ultimo Dragon vs. Chris Jericho ends when Dean Malenko gets in the ring and beats Jericho up again. Ultimo Dragon wisely leaves the ring as Malenko rips Jericho's hair out.
After the commerical break, it is announced that Dean Malenko has been arrested by Atlanta, Georgia police and has been thrown out of the Georgia Dome.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.
Before the next match, Johnny Swinger introduces himself and says he's the hottest young commodity in wrestling today, and that the whole world will find out why tonight. Chavo Guerrero, Jr. then shows up with a hard hat on his head and a pair of scissors in his hands.
Chavo Guerrero Jr. beats Johnny Swinger. During he match, it is announced that 39,919 fans are in attendance for tonight's Nitro. After the match, Chavo says he's noticed Johnny Swinger has some split ends and he's got scissors, and decides to cut some of Swinger's hair. He says this was for Eddie Guerrero. He knows he is watching, and has an idea: their match will be a hair vs. hair match. If Eddie wins, he gets to finish the job. If he wins, he gets to cut Eddie's hair.
We look back at Goldberg's 25th win against Glacier at the end of 1997.
Goldberg is seen shadowboxing in the locker room.
When Alex Wright makes his entrance before the next match, Tokyo Magnum is seen dancing behind Wright from several feet away. Magnus then tries to dance with Alex Wright and Disco Inferno again. Magnus leaves the ring when Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) get the first shots in.
Disco Inferno and Alex Wright vs. Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) ends when the match gets out of control. At one point in the match, Tokyo Magnum helps Alex Wright off a table, and Wright and Disco push past Magnum to supposedly leave the ring. Public Enemy beat up Tokyo Magnum, stack two stables on top of each other and put him through both of them. Disco Inferno and Alex Wright then come back with weapons, and referee Mark Curtis has to call for the bell when he cannot restore order.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Buff Bagwell, who is wheeled in by his mother Judy Bagwell. Bagwell tells the Atlanta, Georgia he loves them, and says his ordeal - which led to him nearly dying twice in intensive care - left him wondering if he would see the fans again. He says everyone in the nation kept in such touch with him, and says he loves each and every fan out there. He says that Scott Steiner wanted to bring him out as his co-star next week, and says that he has had such a second look at life to the point that he is amazed he can put a fork in his mouth and that he and Scott Steiner have to go their separate ways. Buff also expresses his love and appreciation for his mother, and says it would take longer than an entire episode of Nitro to explain how much he appreciates her. Bagwell then expresses that he is thankful to be eating and breathing, and gives thanks to the fans and to his mother once again.
We look back to Goldberg's 50th win on February 26th against Rick Fuller.
Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.
Goldberg retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Scott Hall. Scott Hall tries to call for back-up during the match, but they are all picked off from behind by Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone with steel chairs.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls, this time at the commentary table.
Juventud Guerrera beats Psychosis, then Kidman, Horace, Lodi, Sick Boy and Riggs attack both men.
We look back at Goldberg's 75th win from April 20, 1998, when Goldberg beat Raven for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship.

The Giant beats "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. After the match, The Giant calls Kevin Greene "pathetic" and tells him to make it one-on-one between the two of them at Bash at the Beach so he can choke slam him. Greene shows up and spits in The Giant's face, then ducks a punch and knocks The Giant out of the ring. He then grabs Hacksaw's 2x4 and dares him to get in the ring.
Karl Malone tells Dennis Rodman that he will see "a Rodzilla killa" at Bash at the Beach.
Diamond Dallas Page beats Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart.

Goldberg beats "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and become a dual champion with both the WCW United States and World Heavyweight Championships at age 31 with 108 straight victories in less than a year of experience in the sport. (This does not last long, as the WCW United States Championship is vacated after tonight.) Curt Hennig is seen heading to ringside, but Karl Malone and Diamond Dallas Page show up, and Malone hits Hennig with the Diamond Cutter. This distracts Hogan, which allows Goldberg to hit the Spear and the Jackhammer for the win.
Raw Deal - Raw recap for July 6, 1998
RAW
The Undertaker shows up to start tonight's show. He calls out "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, demanding a shot at the WWF Championship right now. Michael Cole is seen on the TitanTron, looking for Austin backstage to see if he will answer the challenge. Michael Cole finds him, but Austin is in no mood to talk as he makes his way to the ring. Austin gets in the ring, but WWF owner Vince McMahon angrily interrupts, and says the inmates are attempting to run the asylum. Vince says nobody named him the #1 contender, and asks Austin who the hell he thinks he is, defending the WWF Championship whenever he wants against whomever he wants. Vince tells Austin he defends the title when he says so, and against an opponent of his choosing. However, since both men are so hell-bent to get it on, he is inclined to allow that to happen at Fully Loaded, and he doesn't care if they tear each other apart. However, he takes it one step further, and says they will be a tag team instead of opponents when they face Kane and Mankind at the event. Also, since The Undertaker is so hell-bent on being #1 contender for the WWF Championship, Vince will name a #1 contender for the title, and everyone will hang on his every word. Vince then salutes Austin with the middle finger, lest anyone misunderstand how he feels about Austin being WWF Champion. This enrages Austin, who heads right up the ramp to go after Vince.
Savio Vega beats Brakkus by points to continue to the next round of the Brawl For All Tournament.
"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats "Double J" Jeff Jarrett by disqualification after Mabel, who has not been seen in the WWF since 1995, jumps the guardrail, gets in the ring and attacks Shamrock. Edge is seen in the crowd during the match. After the match, it is feared that Ken Shamrock has suffered rib injuries at the hands of Mabel, but even then, Shamrock is able to get up under his own power.
Michael Cole interviews "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, who tells Cole he doesn't need his sympathy and challenges Mabel to a match tonight if he is any kind of a man.
Cader vs. Bradshaw comes to an end after Kane and Mankind attack both men. Before the match, it is announced that The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) will be defending the WWF Tag Team Championships against Kane and Mankind next week on Raw.
Paul Ellering is seen riding a motorcycle along with Skull and 8-Ball as they make their way to the ring before the next match, then guests on commentary to say that is time to write the final chapter of L.O.D. 2000 (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk), as they are prisoners of their own memories.
The Disciples of Apocalypse (Skull and 8-Ball) beat The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh).
D'Lo Brown, now wearing the chest protector to protect his torn pectoral muscles during the match - yet is also perceived to be giving D'Lo an edge during matches by being used as a weapon - beats Terry Funk after "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa punches Terry Funk in the back with a fist with his gold necklace wrapped around it in response for being knocked off the apron by Funk. After the match, The Undertaker shows up and fights off both D'Lo Brown and Kama Mustafa before choke slamming both men. Terry Funk grabs onto The Undertaker to pull himself up, but The Undertaker choke slams him, too.
WAR ZONE
WWF owner Vince McMahon shows up. Before he names a #1 contender for the WWF Championship, he asks for a few individuals to come to the ring: Mankind, Kane, and The Undertaker. All three of them head to the ring. Vince says that Mankind risked life and limb at King of the Ring, and that he feels his pain and his hurt before publicly thanking him for all he's done for the World Wrestling Federation. He then addresses Kane, saying he is one of the stupidest men he has ever seen in his life for his actions last week, which causes Kane to nearly attack him, but Vince tells him that a lot of people are forgiven for a lot of things around here, and admires the fact that Kane risked setting himself on fire if he lost at King of the Ring. Vince then addresses The Undertaker, whom he calls "an evil, diabolical excuse for a human being" for almost taking Mankind's life and setting Kane on fire in an Inferno Match at Unforgiven, but questions if The Undertaker knows he is better than "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and wants to be champion again more than than life itself. He then announces that the three of them will compete in a Triple Threat Match to see who the next #1 contender for the WWF Championship is.
Road Warrior Hawk and Darren Drozdov fight to a draw in the Brawl For All Tournament, with neither man advancing. During the match, Road Warrior Hawk loses his mouthpiece in the first round and Brawl For All referee Danny Hodge has to put it back in. It happens again in the third round, but Droz spits his mouthguard out and they go the rest of the round without their mouthguards.
"Marvelous" Marc Mero and Jacqueline show up, and Jacqueline speaks for the first time in the WWF. Jacqueline says she's been quiet long enough, and says she takes full responsibility for Mero losing last week. She knows Mero is the greatest boxer in the world, and blames their two-month anniversary where "they went 12 rounds" until "his tank was empty." Jacqueline goes on to say that Mero was deprived for a very long time before she met him, and says "Sable wasn't able" to fulfill his needs. Jacqueline says that Sable looks good, but that there's no motor under the hood, and couldn't shift into gear when Mero was ready to steer. Sable shows up, and tells Jacqueline she's got the story all wrong, and that she's always got the pedal to the metal but "Mark's tire was flat," and that Viagra wasn't around to keep his tank full. Jacqueline tells Sable the difference between them is that she's "100% woman" and knows what a man wants because she's got the goods, and that her body is prime real estate. Sable retorts by saying that the real question is "How many times have you rented it out?" Jacqueline calls Sable a skank, and tells her to prove it by challenging her to a bikini contest. Sable tells Jacqueline "Don't just blow it, show it" and that her bikini will be fully loaded and ready to drop the bomb on her.
Before the next match, Val Venis tells the crowd they are looking at the only man who has scored more times in Beaver Stadium than Joe Paterno.
Val Venis beats Dustin Runnels by disqualification after he is attacked from behind by Kaientai (DIck Togo, Men's Teioh, Sho Funaki). During the match, Edge is seen in the crowd again. After the match, Yamaguchi-san shows up with is wife, then Kaientai pick Val Venis up after attacking him and Yamaguchi-san tells Venis he is only have the man he is before slapping and mocking him.
The Nation of Domination shows up, but it is really D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna, X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) with impersonator Jason Sensation. Triple H is "The Crock" (a parody of "The Rock" Rocky Maivia, with "IC" in black tape stuck to the European Championship), Jason Sensation is Owen Hart, X-Pac is "Mizark Henry" (a parody of "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry complete with blackface and a fat suit), "Road Dog" Jesse James is "B-Lo" (a parody of D'Lo Brown with an umpire's vest with white tape in the center with the words "B-Lo" written on it in black), and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn is The Gunnfather (a parody of "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa). Chyna shows up as Chyna. Triple H makes a bathroom joke, then Road Dogg makes fun of D-Lo's top rope mannerisms before laying down face up in the center of the ring so that Triple H can make fun of The People's Elbow. Triple H then stops before elbow (with Road Dogg getting up) and says it when it comes to "The Crock" and the ladies, when he hits rock bottom, he has no choice but "to lay the smack down on himself." Road Dogg repeats the masturbation reference, then gets on the top rope and makes fun of D'Lo again. Jason Sensation says enough is enough and it's time for a chance, but nobody listens to him or cares what he thinks. He then asks what he is doing wearing his ridiculous outfit, as he looks like "a damn road sign" before asking if he is a school crossing. He then goes on to say he tried being a tough guy, but he just couldn't grow his damn beard in. He also says he is not a nugget, and that he is a black Hart, a winner and a soul survivor. He then says that if anyone smells what The Rock is cooking, it's him, and tells the crowd "Look how big my damn nose is!" he then asks if he is an aardvark. Road Dogg repeats the last question, then X-Pac gets on the microphone and says what The Rock is cooking "smells like shit" but he'll eat some anyway. Triple H says "Mizark" is "The World's Strongest Man," but asks how his pecs go all the way to his back. Road Dogg tries to repeat the last statement, but is told to shut up. He mocks D'Lo again anyway. DX then tells The Nation to suck it.
"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats Mabel after catching Mabel on the way down from the top rope, putting him in a Fujiwara arm bar and then floating over to the ankle lock. Shamrock snaps and refuses to let go of the hold after the match is over, and when WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter and referees try to calm him down, Shamrock lets go only to punch Mabel in the face a few times before scaring everyone off again. WWF owner Vince McMahon and Paul Bearer show up as everyone is on the way, and Vince congratulates Shamrock on the way to the commentary table to be special guest commentary for the next match.
No sooner does WWF owner Vince McMahon sit at the table does "Stone Cold" Steve Austin show up. Vince accuses Austin of stealing the spotlight from The Undertaker, Kane and Mankind, then Austin flips him off and also guests on commentary, wanting to know first-hand who the #1 contender to the WWF Championship. The Undertaker, however, fails to show up, and Vince leaves the table, sensing something is wrong. Vince McMahon tells ring announcer Tony Chimel to announce that The Undertaker is not here due to being "chickenshit," and that Vince has determined that the match to determine a #1 contender for the WWF Championship will be a one-on-one match between Kane and Mankind. Not only that, but it is a no-holds-barred and falls count anywhere in the building. Mankind sits near the stairs, saying he has given enough and will not give any more, as he will not fight his friend Kane. Vince rings the bell and tells Kane to fight Mankind. Kane gets out of the ring, grabs a steel chair, then smacks it into Mankind's head, driving it into the steel steps. Kane then rolls Mankind into the ring, drags him to the center of the ring, and pins Mankind with the Tombstone Piledriver cover. Kane then unmasks...and it's The Undertaker. The show immediately ends.
