At The Derby - Derby City Wrestling recap for September 3, 2023

We see a video package for Rocco Bellagio vs. "The Pope" Elijah Burke to start today's show.

"Outlandish" Zicky Dice beats Bryce Saturn by submission.

We see a video package chronicling the formation Myron Reed and Mickey Midas as a tag team.

Mickey Midas and Myron Reed, now known as "The Brotherhood", beat Technical Difficulties (Raheem de la Suede and "The Deliverer" Moses).

Backstage, Beck Reeves is met by Alexis Littlefoot, who gives him her business card (which does not have her phone number on it). When Beck Reeves mentions the lack of a phone number, Alexis Littlefoot says she only gives her phone number to people who are "money."

Backstage, Dane Becker interviews "The Pope" Elijah Burke and Rocco Bellagio. Bellagio says he steals every show he is in, and mentions that he and The Pope were the first two faces in Derby City Wrestling. He says that they will now face each other for the first time ever, and tonight, he will put on one hell of a show as he kicks his ass. Pope says that yesterday is history and tomorrow is a mystery, but right now is a gift and that is why it is called from the present. He says he is not focused on the past and that Rocco stands in front of him, and that their match is the biggest gift that the fans can have tonight.

We hear from "BHK" Kevin Marterson, who says that he will be here next week to defend the United Heritage Championship against "Dead Ringer" Aaron Williams, whom he is not taking lightly, for he is the baddest champion on this or any planet.

We look back at Ruby Raze vs. Simone Sherie from UWN Primetime Live.

Rocco Bellagio beats "The Pope" Elijah Burke. During the match, The Pope inadvertently knocks out the referee in the corner. Shortly after this, Dylan Bostic shows up and knocks The Pope out with a roll of quarters in his fist, which spill all over the ring. Rocco, dealing with the pain in a worked-on left knee, barely gets a hand over him and somehow gets the pinfall victory. After the match, Rocco notices all of the quarters on the match and realizes just what happened, and he is livid.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling presented by CarShield recap for August 20, 2023

Rocco Bellagio beats Jason Levels.

Backstage, Michael Hopkins and Guy Cool wait for Miggy Rose, and Hopkins has a bad feeling about the wait. "Pretty" Peter Avalon shows up and says that Miggy Rose has been involved in a car accident and that he is in the hospital and is okay, and that Guy Cool may have to step up to the plate to keep the tag match alive.

Backstage, Big Hoss and Rob McKnight meet with Peter Avalon regarding The Institution ("Benevolent" Jack Banning, Brendan Divine, Honest John, Savanna Stone). "Dead Ringer" Aaron Williams shows up and challenges Rob McKnight and Big Hoss, and proposes tagging with a ticket-paying fan. Avalon makes this the main event.

24K (Guy Cool and Michael Hopkins) beat The Institution (Brendan Divine and Honest John) after Guy Cool manages to outsmart The Institution. After the match, Brendan Divine and Honest John argue with each other and shove each other. "Benevolent" Jack Banning has to get between them, and when he shoves John, Savanna Stone shows up and hits Divine from behind. All of a sudden, The Institution turn on Divine and attack him, and Banning puts Divine in a guillotine choke.

Backstage, Jeremy McPete interviews Brittnie Brooks. Brittnie says it felt good to get her first win, even if it were by disqualification, and says that neither she nor Savanna Stone can control Savanna Stone's emotions. Johnnie Robbie shows up and talks about her first win, then calls herself an exception to the rules as she can make them and break them before telling Brittnie she will see her in the ring.

Johnnie Robbie beats Brittnie Brooks.

Backstage, Jeremy McPete interviews Kevin Martenson, who says that while he is not sure what Bateman is trying to do, he knows it did not work, and that Bateman should not be playing mind games with him. He tells Bateman he will see him when he is ready.

Before the next match, "Dead Ringer" Aaron Williams says that he likes it in California so much that he has decided to stay a little longer, then sticks to his word about picking any ticket-bearing fan in the crowd as his tag team partner. After telling the fans to raise up their tickets, Aaron Williams picks Lord Crewe, who - despite being banned from Championship Wrestling after a loser leaves town match - actually has a ticket to the show. The match then starts.

"Dead Ringer" Aaron Williams and Lord Crewe beat Rob McKnight and Big Hoss (now known as "Wild West") after Lord Crewe goes low while Aaron Williams distracts the referee.

Shortly after that, Jordan Clearwater put him on the shelf, and as he recovered, he realized time was of the essence and his time to shine is now. He says that Limelight's time is coming to an end, and next week, he will make him tap out and become United World Champion.

Backstage, Jonny Loquasto is met by Shane Haste and Che Cabrera, who confront him for letting Invictus Khash cash in and putting them in a tag team title match while Bad Dude Tito is in Japan. After stating that Beef Candy (Richie Slade and Flex McCallion) "are no supergroup" regarding their tag team title defense, Beef Candy show up and confront them for their statement, and Jonny Loquasto makes it clear that their United World Tag Team Championship match will happen next week.

A man dressed like a papal figure shows up on the back of a golf cart and gets in the ring, and Bostic says he is tired of the man blessing the fans, then says he beat The Pope because he is blessed by God before slapping the man around. The real Pope shows up and tells Bostic he has half the mind to get in the ring and slap the hell out of him, but he will not do that because he will respect the wishes of the DCW Board of Directors.
