Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for June 11, 2022

Dustin Starr interviews "Outlandish" Zicky Dice, who brings out the Memphis Internet Championship underneath a glittery pink cover. Zicky Dice unveils the Internet Championship for the very first time, then allows a close look of the championship to the crowd. As Zicky Dice returns to the announce desk, however, Mike Anthony shows up for the opening match. Zicky says he is not the Internet Champion, and that a "Five Starr Five-Way" match will dictate who wins it.

Mike Anthony beats Carlos Alexander Rios.

Big Jack and Bruce beat The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorns) after Mr. Chris shows up and gets confronted by Briar only for Simon to show up and kidnap him along with Mr. Chris.

Backstage, Mackenzie Morgan interviews Norman Meklakov and Matt. Matt says his full name is Matt Williams, then says he has been disrespected since he showed up and that nobody will say his name. Matt says that he is a person, too, and that he took up for himself. He then says that if Austin Lane wants to fight him, he will have to go through Meklakov first.

Next week: K-Toomer vs. Rhino!

The L.A. Hustlers (Bradley and Lamont) beat Country Rock (Carter Matthews and Chris Hayes) by reverse decision despite Country Rock winning clean after Carter Matthews ducks a punch with a gold chain wrapped around it from Lamont and Country Rock hits the Country Rock Drop. After the match, the referee sees Lamont's chain on the mat, thinks Country Rock used it to win, then awards the win to The L.A. Hustlers by reverse decision.

We hear from Mike Anthony, who says that locking him away solved nothing, because he thrives in a prison-like environment and knocks them all done. He says that he came for what he wanted and left, and that he and King Cobra are not allies and have nothing in common. Anthony then says that Brett Michaels' title match became the worst day of his life, and says that he could not let Brett have his moment when he had Lance Archer right where he wanted him.

Backstage, Mackenzie Morgan interviews "Big Swole" Justin Cole, who says that today is the big day and that he is going to make it happen in the Internet Championship match.

Dustin Starr interviews Jay Smooth - now with crutches - and Kross. Kross says that they have not seen Martin in weeks, and that Jay Smooth is hurt and that they are hoping for recovery. We then see recent footage of Martin confronting Lance Archer in the ring only to get choke slammed, and Kross tells Dustin Starr not to mention the incident again and that he will make every booking and carry The Etiquette (Kross, Jay Smooth, Martin).

"Big Trouble" Ben Bishop beats Kross after a crutch shot to the head has no effect.

Backstage, Mackenzie Morgan interviews "Poppin'" EJ Sparks. Sparks says he is going to go out there, steal the show, and walk out as Memphis Internet Champion.

Dustin Starr interviews "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock and Van Viciouss. Blaylock says Derrick King has made a ton of mistakes not joining them, then mentions that they have someone wanting to be their personal assistant, whom he brings out: referee Ray Ray Sanders. Blaylock fits Ray Ray Sanders with a "Personal Assistant" jacket on Sanders, and Ray Ray is already all smiles as Blaylock pays him with cash. Ray Ray states he is a grown and demands he be called Ray Sanders. As he says that this is not the most popular decision while he explains himself, Derrick King shows up and confronts Ray, saying that Blaylock is wearing a white suit and gold chains that are not even gold.

"Outlandish" Zicky Dice guests on commentary for the next match while Derrick King watches from the announce desk.

"Outlandish" Zicky Dice beats "Big Swole" Justin Cole, Van Viciouss, "Poppin'" EJ Sparks and Johnny Dotson (who is a surprise entrant) in a "Five Starr Five-Way" match to become the inaugural Memphis Internet Champion. (Uncle Mikey is booked for the match, but he does not show up when his entrance theme hits due to Briar Skimahorn's abduction at the hands of The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris); Zicky Dice leaves the announce desk to take his place.) Viciouss eliminates Sparks after "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock distracts the referee so that he can toss his cane to Viciouss, who uses it to eliminate Sparks. After the pinfall, Derrick King gets in the ring and superkicks Viciouss, and Dotson gets in the ring and pins Viciouss to eliminate him. Justin Cole then eliminates Johnny Dotson with a schoolkid pin, and Zicky Dice beats Justin Cole with a neckbreaker to win the title.

Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for May 21, 2022

Dustin Starr interviews Kross at the announce desk. Kross says he has not had a good week, as Jay Smooth has a leg injury and he has not heard from Martin, then says he has to take care of business in order to keep The Etiquette together and that he will do whatever he has to do.

"The True American" Trace Lee Hunt beats Kross.

We hear from Norman Meklakov, who says that he is the most dominant man in all of professional wrestling and that no man can break out of the Meklalock.

Dustin Starr interviews Norman Meklakov at the announce desk. Meklakov says nobody can break the Meklalock, then says he has seen some new faces as well as new victims to break with the hold. Meklakov issues an open challenge, and Austin Lane and Matt show up. Austin Lane says he has had an eye on Meklakov and that can break the Meklalock, but Matt wants an opportunity. Austin tells Matt to let him have the opportunity, which Matt does, and says he can not only break the Meklalock, but reverse it. Meklakov punches Austin Lane in the back before putting him in the Meklakov, and Dustin Starr goes for a closer look just before Austin Lane gets back to his feet and Matt clocks Austin Lane in the face. Matt then stomps Austin Lane in the head on the ring steps before revealing he is in league with Meklakov.

Dustin Starr interviews Diana Taylor on the announce desk. Diana Taylor says that she earned the Memphis Women's Championship and that nobody has done anything for her despite being in the company since the beginning, then tells Dustin Starr that if the board of directors want it, somebody can come and get it.

Cassandra Golden beats Diana Taylor. After the match, Cassandra Golden hands the Memphis Women's Championship back to Dustin Starr and says that next time she touches it, it is coming home with her.

Backstage, Kid Wrestling meets with "Big Swole" Justin Cole and offers to team with him against The Posse, but Justin Cole says this is not a fight, not a wrestling match. Kid Wrestling says he is not waiting in the back for the bulls to pounce, but Justin wants to do this alone.

The L.A. Hustlers (Bradley and Lamont) beat Country Rock (Carter Matthews and Chris Hayes) after Lamont knocks Chris Hayes out with a gold chain...almost. After the match, referee Ray Ray Sanders finds Lamont's gold chain in Lamont's hand and reverses the decision, giving Country Rock the win.

"Big Swole" Justin Cole beats The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) in a two-on-one handicap match by disqualification. During the match, Kid Wrestling runs in and gets on the apron to become Justin Cole's tag team partner, and Justin Cole accepts his help. The match ends with Simon pulls Mr. Chris out of a pinfall attempt following the Swole Slam before pulling a big, long rusty chain out from underneath the ring and hitting Justin Cole with it. After the match, Mr. Chris takes the spiked shoulder pad from his jacket and runs it into Kid Wrestling's eye before he and Simon tear Kid Wrestling's mask apart.

Championship Gold - Memphis Wrestling recap for February 26, 2022

Dustin Starr interviews The Elements of Wrestling ("Casanova" Colton Cage, Ryan Pyles, Van Viciouss) at the announce desk. Dustin announces that Action Jackson is injured and cannot compete in the Cobra Cup semi-finals, and Ryan Pyles says that Colton Cage will get his win via count-out. Colton Cage says that Action Jackson is scared of him, and Ryan Pyles says that The Elements of Wrestling are always on top. As Colton Cage heads to the ring to take his victory, Action Jackson is introduced despite not being cleared to compete at the behest of Cage. Action Jackson is then counted out, and Colton Cage advances to the finals. Back at the announce desk, Dustin Starr tells Colton Cage he has Mike Anthony in the finals. Cage says The Elements of Wrestling did what they said they would do and that they are all action. He says that he and Mike Anthony can take their battle anywhere, and that it will end with his hand raised before he "heads to the GunShow" and wins the Memphis Heritage Championship.

Dustin Starr interviews Rhino and Tiger Joe at the announce desk. Tiger Joe says he has a manbeast in Rhino and that he is "hungry as hell," then mentions that his neck hurts due to Derrick King's piledriver and that his attorney has told him to wear it until he gets his revenge. Rhino says he goes where the money is, and Tiger Joe paid him money to come to Memphis and take Derrick King out. He demands respect for Tiger Joe and for himself after what he has done for wrestling, and says he will rip Derrick King in half with a Gore.

Dustin Starr interviews The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorn). Brad says that Uncle Mikey is at home after being banged up, and tells K-Toomer to get in the ring, saying that they did not back down against Lance Archer and that they will not back down against him. K-Toomer gets in the ring with The Skimahorns and overpowers them.

Dustin Starr interviews Country Rock (Carter Matthews and Chris Hayes) at the announce desk. Chris Hayes says they owe somebody money, and Carter Matthews says that they are handling this as a team and that he will take on the Meklalock Challenge. Chris Hayes says he will do it, because he got them into this. Meklakov shows up and mocks Country Rock for getting into debt and calls them brave, yet stupid. Carter Matthews volunteers, but Meklakov puts Matthews out with it. When Chris Hayes checks on Carter Matthews, Meklakov puts Hayes in the Meklalock and sends him into unconsciousness as well.

Backstage, Derrick King and Danny B. Good talk about losing the trios tag team championships and Tiger Joe and Rhino calling Derrick out. Derrick King says he will show Tiger Joe and Rhino why he is still the king next week.

We see Diana Taylor get ready to win the Memphis Women's Championship with help from King Cobra and Alan Steel at the WrestleCenter.

Dustin Starr interviews "The Mad Esthetician" Amber Rodriguez at the announce desk. She says that love is in the air this month and that love hurts, but so does her syringes. She then asks for Heather Monroe to come to the announce desk. Heather Monroe says Skyler thinks she can hang with them when she can't, and if she wants to hang with the stars, she has to get in the ring with the stars. She has a challenge for her if she has the courage to head to the ring. Amber takes offense to Skyler turning against her after she made her, and Heather takes offense to Skyler kicking her in the head. When asked why Amber and Heather want Skyler two-on-one, Heather tells Dustin it is none of his business. After the commercial break, Skyler heads to the announce desk. She tells Heather and Amber that they need to calm down a little bit and that she accepts their two-on-one challenge, but she did not come alone. "The Native Beast" Nyla Rose shows up and heads to the ring with Skyler. Heather and Amber quickly retreat. Afterwards, Dustin Starr interviews Nyla Rose and Skyler at the announce desk. She says Heather and Amber can run away all day if they want, but she came here for "that sweet Southern satisfaction" and some action. She tells Heather and Monroe to make their way back to the ring next week, as she and Skyler have something for them, and tells them not to be afraid, as that is just the nature of the beast.

Backstage, The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts and Zay Washington) are met by Brandon, who says that it makes all three of them sick that The Posse (Simon and Lil Chris) are suspended and won't get their contracts renewed so that The Yung GOATs face them. He says that he will pay for the damages The Posse made and do whatever it to get The Posse reinstated for a fight with The Yung GOATs.

We hear from Walker Hayes, who has apparently gone missing. He says that as a kid, he was always fascinated by monsters but was never scared by them as they were a work of fiction. He says this was before he met true evil, when he learned monsters are real. He says that to understand this, one must go back to the beginning.

Backstage, Austin Lane and Matt meet with Brett Michaels. Austin says it is four weeks until the Superbout, but they do not mind being his partners against three other guys. Brett Michaels says he does not know who Matt is and does not trust him, and says that he has his own partner: "Big Swole" Justin Cole.

Dustin Starr interviews Kross, Martin and Jay Smooth at the announce desk. Kross says that they will take on the three top guys in Memphis Wrestling before mocking "The GunShow" Brett Michaels, "Big Swole" Justin Cole and Austin Lane and stating they will be the ones people are celebrating.

"The GunShow" Brett Michaels, "Big Swole" Justin Cole and Austin Lane beat Kross, Martin and Jay Smooth after Brett Michaels steals the tag from Justin Cole before Austin Lane tags himself in as Brett calls for the GunShow Lariat to take out the opposing team and make Kross tap out to the STF. After the match, Justin Cole has to play peackeeper between Brett and Austin.
