Come As You Are (WWF Superstar) - Superstars recap for September 25, 1993

At the start of the show, Mr. Perfect says that last week, Shawn Michaels and Diesel pushed The 1-2-3 Kid around like a bunch of bullies, and he handled the situation. The 1-2-3 Kid will be wrestling this week, and what happened last week will not happen again as he will be in his corner. He warns Shawn and Diesel that if the wants to push The Kid around again, he will be there.

Adam Bomb beats Kevin Krueger.

Joe Fowler advertises the Madison Square Garden supercard with a now-triple main event taking place tonight at 8 PM. Yokozuna will defend the WWF Championship against The Undertaker, Mr. Perfect faces Diesel, Tatanka does battle with Irwin R. Schyster, and Razor Ramon faces "The Model" Rick Martel. It is then announced that The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) will be defending the WWF Tag Team Championships against Bam Bam Bigelow and Adam Bomb, and that The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) are no longer in the match. He then interviews Johnny Polo, who manages both Adam Bomb and The Quebecers. He says this should be his greatest night, but Adam Bomb is his family, and that he could not even get a word with WWF President Jack Tunney. He does not even know if he will even show up, and says it is all one big conspiracy.

Bastion Booger beats Todd Becker.

The 1-2-3 Kid beats Jack Reno.

We see a promo of Ludvig Borga in front of a polluted river. He says that Lex Luger is proud of all this, and that the river here used to be nice until Americans cleaned their house. He says that the river is what Americans are all about: filth, pollution, and corruption. If Luger stands for all of this, that makes him "a garbage driver." He says that America stinks, American stinks and Lex Luger stinks, and tells American to choke on this.

Tatanka beats Barry Horowitz.

Joe Fowler advertises the Madison Square Garden supercard with a now-triple main event taking place tonight at 8 PM. The 1-2-3 Kid will also be facing Bastion Booger on this night. He then interviews Yokozuna (with Mr. Fuji and Jim Cornette) and The Undetaker (with Paul Bearer). Jim Cornette says The Undertaker is a big, bad guy, but so is Yokozuna, and this match will be brutal and intense. He tells Paul Bearer his urn will not be able to save him, and that he will be worried with more than whether or not he will be able to pay his light bill. When Yokozuna drops down on The Undertaker, he will flatten him regardless of whether he is breathing or not. He says it has been a long time since The Undertaker has been laid out with words being spoken over him, and when Yokozuna takes care of him, he will be six feet under. Paul Bearer tells Cornette that they do not have to worry about a light bill as they live on the dark side, and he does not understand why Cornette would pit Yokozuna against The Undertaker. The Undertaker decrees that tonight, Yokozuna will meet the destroyer.

The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) beat Tom Stone and Dan Rubins.

Boni Blackstone interviews Yokozuna, Mr. Fuji and Jim Cornette. Cornette says he has some stone cold hard facts: Yokozuna is the WWF Champion now and from this point forward, and despite what anybody wants, Lex Luger will not get another shot at the WWF Championship. He then says that he and Mr. Fuji have scanned all the competition in the WWF and says there is nobody who stands a chance of beating Yokozuna. He says you can look in Yokozuna and see that he has no fear, and that you can look in everyone else's eyes and you can see fear of getting in the ring with Yokozuna, who has no compassion for his fellow man. He and Fuji looked far and wide for someone who can test Yokozuna, and there is not a soul who can put him down until a spaceship lands. All of a sudden, the arena goes dark. The Undertaker's music is heard, and The Undertaker and Paul Bearer are right behind Cornette, who is scared out of his wits when he turns around. Bearer says all Yokozuna has to do is look in The Undertaker's eyes and all he will see is darkness and evil, and that The Undertaker has a challenge. The Undertaker gets in Yokozuna's face, and he and Yokozuna have an intense staredown before The Undertaker challenges Yokozuna to bring the WWF Championship - and his soul - to the dark side.

Men on a Mission (Mabel and Mo) beat The Brooklyn Brawler and Brian Costello. After the match, "The King" Jerry Lawler uses the Magistrator to show that Mabel reminds him of Shamu.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund advertises the show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, August 13th. A six-man elimination tag match of Mr. Perfect, Tatanka and Marty Jannetty vs. Shawn Michaels, Diesel and Bam Bam Bigelow is scheduled for that night. The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) will face The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu), The 1-2-3 Kid will face Doink, "Macho Man" Randy Savage will face "The King" Jerry Lawler, and Yokozuna will defend the WWF Championship in a steel cage against Bret "Hit Man" Hart. Okerlund interviews Doink and The 1-2-3 Kid for Face To Face. The Kid says it will be an honor to be at Madison Square Garden, as he never got to go there growing up. He has always wanted to go there to see something, but now he gets to perform in it. Doink laughs, says all he sees in The 1-2-3 Kid is a kid. Okerlund also interviews "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who says he does not like how "The King" Jerry Lawler is acting, especially when Lawler is being a jerk and he is not allowed to physically attack him on commentary. He has called up WWF President Jack Tunner, and now he gets his wish on August 13th. He will do Bret "Hit Man" Hart a favor and slap Lawler in the face.

Adam Bomb beats Tony DeVito.

We see footage of Lex Luger traveling across America in the Lex Express.

Mr. Hughes beats Jason Headings. A black funeral wreath is brought out to ringside during the match, and Mr. Hughes destroys it after.

The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu) beat Dave Thornberg and Bret Tyler. Before the end of the match, Samu and Fatu beat on each other after both of their opponents are knocked unconscious during the match, then Fatu goes for the top rope splash for the win.

On the SummerSlam Report, it is announced that Shawn Michaels will be defending the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Mr. Perfect. We then hear from Bret "Hit Man" Hart, he says that what irks him is when "The King" Jerry Lawler stoops so low to the point that he drags his family into things. He does his job in the ring, but he keeps his family life separate from his work life. When Lawler went up into and humiliated his parents and also did what he did to his brother "The Rocket" Owen Hart, he went too far. He now looks forward to destroying Lawler at SummerSlam, and when he gets in the ring, it will look like the scaffold where members of royalty were taken and beheaded. He says Lawler will be beheaded when he wipes him out.

Mr. Perfect beats Glenn Ruth.

We see a video package of Ludvig Borga.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund advertises a show for Nassau Coliseum for Friday night, August 27th. Mr. Perfect faces Bam Bam Bigelow, The 1-2-3 Kid meets Bastion Booger, Men on a Mission (Mabel and Mo) faces Money Inc. ("The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Irwin R. Schyster), Tatanka takes on Doink, The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) defend the WWF Tag Team Championships against The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu), Shawn Michaels defends the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Razor Ramon, and "Macho Man" Randy Savage and The Undertaker team up to take on Giant Gonzales and Mr. Hughes. Okerlund then interviews Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels for Face To Face. Shawn says he never perspires, and says Razor is on a winning streak like the New York Mets have a winning streak, and he only has as much of a chance of winning the Intercontinental Championship from him as the Mets have of winning the World Series. Razor tells Shawn he is better, bigger, stronger, faster, meaner and way better looking than he is, and at Nassau Coliseum, all the ladies are coming to see him. Shawn says he has heard those claims before, and then asks why everyone else who has made those claims are not carrying the Intercontinental title. He says that being big and bad does not make you the wrestler of the '90s, and says he is far beyond everyone else in the WWF and that this is not going to change.

WrestleMania: The Album is now available in record stores everywhere. We then see the music video for "WrestleMania."

Before the next match, Bam Bam Bigelow says he cannot believe Sensational Sherri. As soon as he says she hurt Luna Vachon - who is wearing a black cast on one of her arms - Sherri sticks his tongue out at him. Bigelow says that she hurt Luna, she hurt him. He is sick and tired of having her around, and says her smirk should be knocked off of her face. When Bigelow asks "You know who you are?", Sherri slaps Bigelow, who corners her. Luna then chokes Sherri from behind. Tatanka shows up and gets the better of Bigelow, then runs to the corner to save Sherri. Sensational Sherri vs. Luna Vachon ends in a no-contest.

Tatanka beats Brian Costello. During the match, it is announced that Crush is convalescing at home in Kona, Hawaii after suffering a collapsed chest at The Stars and Stripes Challenge, and that a further update on Crush will be available next week.

It is announced that Lex Luger is starting a "Call To Action" Campaign to tour the United States to show what's right about America as he tries to get the fans to not only get behind him, but to tell WWF President Jack Tunney to make him #1 contender for the WWF Championship, as it is rumored that Tunney will make a decision on that next week. We then see footage of Lex Luger's bus, the Lex Express, which will be touring the United States.

Adam Bomb beats Rich Myers. During the match, it is announced that a personality profile on Adam Bomb is featured inside the newest issue of WWF Magazine, available on newsstands now.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund advertises a show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, August 13. The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) will face The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu), The 1-2-3 Kid will face Doink and "Macho Man" Randy Savage will face "The King" Jerry Lawler. Also, Yokozuna will defend the WWF Championship in a steel cage against Bret "Hit Man" Hart. We then hear from Lawler and Savage at the commentary table. Lawler says Savage is not just a has-been, but a "never was," and says he will let him meet his fans up close and personal. Last time he was at Madison Square Garden, he beat Tito Santana all over the building, and he will do the same to Savage. He then tells the fans to kiss his feet, just like Savage will when the match is over. Savage says they will have a garden party, and if that August 13th will be his last day in the squared circle.

Before the next match, Irwin R. Schyster says that he, for one, cannot wait until the tax rates are raised, so that all the tax cheats out there have to pay more.

Money Inc. ("The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Irwin R. Schyster) beat The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) for a fourth WWF Tag Team Championship reign...almost. Irwin R. Schyster hits Scott Steiner in the back with his briefcase, allowing DiBiase to get the pinfall, but another referee shows up and explains to the referee in the match what has happened. The decision is reversed, and Money Inc. is disqualified. The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) retain the WWF Tag Team Championships by disqualification.

On the SummerSlam Report, it is announced that The Undertaker will take on Giant Gonzales in a Rest In Peace Match.

Boni Blackstone interviews Money Inc. ("The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Irwin R. Schyster) in the ring. DiBiase says they were robbed of the WWF Tag Team Championships to begin with, and says that The Steiner Brothers cried and whined until they got their shot and that they stole the tag team titles from the first time out. Now they have been robbed of the tag titles again. They admit to the use of the briefcase, and Irwin R. Schyster says that is convenient that another official not involved in the match costs them the tag titles. He says that nobody steals from Money Inc., especially The Steiner Brothers. DiBiase says it happens to them and nobody else, and says that WWF President Jack Tunner does not like them due to their money and the power that comes with it. He tells the Steiners that if they are the champions and wrestlers that they think they are, then they will accept their challenge for the tag team titles next week.

Me. Hughes beats Sonny Rogers. Before the match, a gentleman dressed in black delivers a funeral wreath with a black ribbon and roses to ringside. After the match, Mr. Hughes destroys the wreath and the condolences card placed with it.

Mr. Fuji tells Bret that he must have some connection with WWF President Jack Tunney to sanction a match like this and put the WWF Championship up. He then says that when Bret looks across the ring at Yokozuna, Yokozuna will have only one thing in mind: finishing him off and making him look like a pancake in a kamikaze bomb. Bret says Yokozuna won't be able to get his big butt over the cage wall or through the door, and that it's just going to be him and Yokozuna with Mr. Fuji unable to be involved.

Next week: WWF President Jack Tunney's decision on whether or not Yokozuna will defend the WWF Championship against Lex Luger! The Lex Express' tour across America in the Call To Action campaign! Some new stars debut!

Raw Deal - Raw recap for July 5, 1993

Tonight's episode starts with a recap of last Sunday's live event from the USS Intrepid, WWF Stars and Stripes Challenge. Crush comes the closest of anyone so far, but when he tries to lifts Yokozuna, he is forced to put him down halfway through when he hurts his back. When it appears there are no more challengers, a blue helicopter lands on the Intrepid and out comes...Lex Luger, now wearing an American flag shirt and blue jeans instead of his usual Narcissist gear, shoving Bobby "The Brain" Heenan out of his way as he approaches the ring. He calls Yokozuna a cancer to the WWF and Mr. Fuji "what's wrong with America." He tosses Fuji out of the ring before ultimately slamming Yokozuna onto the mat, and Lex Luger officially turns face. Lex Luger then challenges Yokozuna for the WWF Championship, but Yokozuna has refused.

The 1-2-3 Kid beats Blake Beverly.

We get our first look at Men on a Mission: Mabel, Mo and Oscar.

Bam Bam Bigelow, accompanied by Luna Vachon yet again, quickly beats Joey Maggs.

The Undertaker, now without Paul Bearer or the urn, beats Samu.

Vince McMahon interviews Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji at ringside. Fuji refuses to admit that Lex Luger performed the unthinkable, and says Lex is a cheater with a steel plate in his forearm as refuses to allow Lex Luger a shot at Yokozuna and the WWF Championship, while at the same time Yokozuna will defend the WWF Championship against anyone. Suddenly, Crush shows up and thanks Lex Luger for sticking it to Fuji and Yokozuna. He challenges Yokozuna for the WWF Championship, and Yokozuna accepts. The match is official for next week.

SummerSlam is on pay-per-view on August 30th!

Marty Jannetty beats Tom Stone.

We hear from Mr. Fuji and Yokozuna. Fuji says the 4th of July is a nice day to issue an invitation for any and all American athletes to slam the now-550 lb. Yokozuna on the USS Intrepid. Mr. Fuji says that since Hulk Hogan has been defeated, he will never be seen again and that he is finished. He says nobody will succeed in slamming Yokozuna, and afterwards, he and Yokozuna will celebrate with the Emperor and his beautiful bride while Japan celebrates a beautiful over American and Hulk Hogan. Yokozuna says America and everyone taking the challenge is going down.

Former New York Giant Karl Nelson says one of his ex-NFL teammates will slam Yokozuna. Green Bay Packer James Campen says he's taken on grizzly bears in the off-season with his massive traps, and that he can slam Yokozuna. Former New York Giant Joe Morris simply states "Float like a butterfly, sting like a gnat. On the Fourth of July, I'm gonna slam Yokozuna flat!"

SummerSlam 1993 is coming to pay-per-view on August 30th!

"The Narcissist" Lex Luger beats Rich Meyers. (This proves to be the last televised match with the "Narcissist" gimmick for Lex Luger.)

"Mean" Gene Okerlund advertises The Stars and Stripes Challenge at the USS Intrepid in New York City, New York for tomorrow afternoon. We hear from Crush, who says that Sunday, he accepted the challenge for himself and his country, and that it will be a privilege to come out on the USS Intrepid and body slam Yokozuna in front of everybody. He says Yokozuna is going down this Sunday. We hear from former New York Giant, who says that 505 pounds on Yokozuna on the mat will be synonymous with hamburgers on the Fourth of July. Peter Taglianetti of the Pittsburgh Penguins says that Yokozuna has put down American athletes for long enough, and on July 4th, he will slam him. Yokozuna may be as big as a horse, but he smells like a camel. Bill Fralic of the Detroit Lions says every football player's dream is to play in and win the Super Bowl, and that this Sunday, every American athlete's dream is to slam the 550 lb. Yokozuna onto the mat, and he thinks he will be the one to do it for America. Kenny Anderson of the New Jersey Nets says he is used to dealing with big, bad guys. On his scale, a 505 lb. marshmallow does not even register. This Sunday, Yokozuna is going down. It is then announced that General Motors will award whoever slams Yokozuna to the mat tomorrow with a brand-new red, white and blue 1993 Chevrolet pick-up.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat Barry Horowitz and Brian Costello. We see pre-recorded comments from The Steiner Brothers. Scott says that they will slam Yokozuna at The Stars and Stripes Challenge, and Ric says they are proud Americans and that there will be a celebration this Sunday. After the match, "The King" Jerry Lawler says The Steiner Brothers - and the "M" on their jackets - remind him of Mickey Mouse as he draws on the Magistrator, and calls them "Mickey Mouse champions."

We see a one-screen advertisement for tomorrow's Stars and Stripes Challenge.

The 1-2-3 Kid beats Reno Riggins in a match. Jim Ross guests on commentary for this match, which was taped before Monday Night Raw.

Next week on Superstars: Doink vs. Crush!

Bam Bam Bigelow beats Rudy Gonzales. During the match, "The King" Jerry Lawler leaves the commentary table to re-polish his crown.

Boni Blackwell interviews Bret "Hit Man" Hart. He says he doesn't concern himself about slamming Yokozuna, and knows he can't slam him but knows he can beat him. He says that Yokozuna would have been excellently executed with the Sharpshooter at WrestleMania 9 if it were not for Mr. Fuji, and he would have still been WWF Champion. He has one message for "The King" Jerry Lawler, whom he calls "The Dairy Queen," and promises that he will destroy him, wipe him out and obliterate every little bit of everything he stands for after what he did to him after the King of the Ring Tournament. He says Lawler will be excellently executed, as he is the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be and the King of the Ring.

We see another one-screen advertisement for tomorrow's Stars and Stripes Challenge.

We see a vignette for Men on a Mission (Mabel, Mo, Oscar), who are coming to the WWF next week on Superstars.

Adam Bomb beats Jay Sledge. Before the match, "The King" Jerry Lawler comes back to the commentary table, his crown re-polished.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund re-advertises The Stars and Stripes Challenge at the USS Intrepid in New York City, New York for tomorrow afternoon. He then interviews Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji for Face To Face. Fuji says he and Yokozuna are celebrating their championship victory against Hulk Hogan by challenging American professional athletes to body slam the 550-lb. Yokozuna. Fuji says all these athletes will make a big fool of themselves when they fail to slam Yokozuna onto the mat.
