Vince's Got A Shotgun - Shotgun Saturday Night recap for January 31, 1998

Blackjack Bradshaw beats Donovan Morgan. Barry Windham is seen watching from the stage during the match. Bradshaw dares Windham to get in the ring, but Windham heads back to the back.

Kurrgan the Interrogator - not accompanied to the ring by The Jackyl this week - beats Michael Modest with the Paralyzer. During the match it is announced that the Toughwoman World Championship will be live on pay-per-view this Friday, February 8th at 9 PM Eastern. After the match, Kurrgan drags Michael Modest to the back with the Paralyzer still applied.

We hear from "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who says that at No Way Out, there will be no way out of getting their asses kicked for D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels), as he will be on the other side of the ring from them along with Cactus Jack, Chainsaw Charlie and Owen Hart, the last of whom he admits he does not like. He tells Owen to stand on the apron and look stupid, as he is good at it, and to stay out of his way as he does not need help. He tells DX and The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) that they will be getting their asses kicked at No Way Out.

Mini Nova and Mosaic beat Batallion and Tarantula. During the match, Battallion keeps kicking out of pinfall attempts by Mini Nova, and referee Mike Chioda keeps tossing Mini Nova back on top of Batallion twice. Shortly after this, Mosaic kicks out of a pinfall attempt by Tarantula, and the kick-out causes Tarantula to fall on top of Chioda. Battallion and Mosaic get on top of Tarantula, and Mini Nova counts a "pinfall attempt." Later still, Batallion lands on timekeeper Mark Yeaton during some action outside of the ring, and Batallion gets out of the way as Mini Nova leaps onto him, leaving Yeaton to place Mini Nova back in the ring.

WrestleMania 14 is eight weeks away!

Sunny is the special guest ring announcer for the next match. It is also announced that Vic Venom, editor-in-chief of Raw Magazine and that "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels is featured nude in the newest issue of the magazine. Sunny also dances with Los Boricuas (Savio Vega, Miguel Perez, Jesus Castillo, Jose Estrada Jr.) during their entrance.

Taka Michinoku retains the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship against Jesus Castillo. Not long into the match, the rest of Los Boricuas (Savio Vega, Miguel Perez, Jose Estrada Jr.) are ejected from ringside for attempted interference; nevertheless, they show up later to watch the match from the stage and to distract Taka from a distance, which does not work. After the match, Taka Michinoku flees through the crowd after Los Boricuas rushes the ring.

We hear from The Rock, who says that he is bringing the rest of The Nation of Domination (Faarooq, D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry) with him when he beats the opposition at No Way Out. Faarooq says there is always a way out for the nation, and they have made a way out of too many place to count. He reminds Ahmed Johnson that he could not cut it as a member of The Nation because he was always nursing something. Faarooq then says The Nation has always beaten The Disciples of Apocalypse (Chainz, Skull, 8-Ball) and that No Way Out will be no different. D'Lo Brown says D.O.A. has only been a team for "all of ten minutes" while The Nation have been a team their whole lives, and Kama Mustafa says The Nation will win by any means necessary.

Chainz beats Jeff Jarrett by disqualification after The Rock 'n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) break up a pinfall. Chainz fights them off and body slams Jim Cornette, but gets whacked with a tennis racket from behind by Barry Windham. Jarrett has the figure four leg lock on Chainz when Skull and 8-Ball run into the ring and clean house. Jeff Jarrett retains the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship.

Before the next match, "Road Dogg" Jesse James says that while he cannot stand with "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn on the apron tonight, he does not mind standing next to The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn), as the four of them are Southern justice, and together, they will wreak havoc on some jerks right now.

The WWF Championship Title Series featuring title belts is available at Toys 'R Us by Jakks Pacific!

Henry O. Godwinn and "Road Dogg" Jesse James beat Thrasher and Blackjack Bradshaw after Road Dogg uses the ring bell as a weapon while the referee is pre-occupied with Blackjack Bradshaw. After the match, The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) and The New Blackjacks (Blackjack Windham and Blackjack Bradshaw) brawl with The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) while Road Dogg and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn head to the back and let The Godwinns fend for themselves. The Headbangers and The New Blackjacks come out on top after forcing The Godwinns out of the ring. The Godwinns then confront Road Dogg and Billy Gunn on the stage.

Michael Cole interviews "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna. Triple H says this could be a huge weekend for D-Generation X ("The Hearbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chyna, Rick Rude), but so is every weekend as well as everything in general. He mocks Vader's size when he says he will have his hands full with him, and tells him it's not Vader Time, it's Jenny Craig time. As for George "The Animal" Steele, if he gets in his corner, it will be about sticking his foot so far up his butt that it will take all of New York's finest to pull it out. He tells Steele to keep out of DX's business, or it will be the last thing he will do.

Vince's Got A Shotgun - Shotgun Saturday Night recap for March 22, 1997

Blackjack Bradshaw vs. Henry O. Godwinn ends in a no contest. During the match, Doug Furnas and Philip LaFon show up and watch the match from the middle of the ramp. Later on, The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) run out and brawl with Furnas and LaFon outside of the ring, and the match ends when the brawl spills into the ring. Blackjack Windham and Phineas I. Godwinn also get involved, and the scene soon changes into a four-team brawl. Referees have to enter the ring to try to break up the brawl.

Kevin Kelly interviews Owen Hart and The British Bulldog on the stage. Owen shows up, but the Bulldog does not. Owen says he is the very best, the captain and the brains, and says that Bulldog is the brawn as he says that they are tag champs because he is the man and Bulldog listens to him. Owen says that because of that, Vader and Mankind will be losers just like everyone else who tried to take the tag titles from them, as they are the best tag team in the world today. Bulldog suddenly shows up as Owen says he does not want people bringing up what happened between them in Berlin, Germany and says that he would have beaten him if he wanted to, and says that they are a team. Bulldog says everyone knows who won the European title in Berlin, and says Owen gave it his best shot and lost. He says the better man won because he is superior, and that he has carried Owen a long way. He then says that at WrestleMania 13, they will walk both in and out as WWF Tag Team Champions as they are not going to lose the belts because he said so. Owen tells Bulldog to listen to him, because he is the brains. He also says that other people cause the dissension between him and Bulldog, not himself, but Bulldog disagrees and thinks Owen is jealous of him. Nevertheless, he will put that aside at WrestleMania, because they have a big task at hand with Mankind and Vader. He then tells Owen to listen to him so he can go a long way in the World Wrestling Federation, and says the people are not morons. Owen tells Bulldog not to worry about the people and to focus on their tag team championship match, and tells Bulldog to listen to him. Bulldog tells Owen to listen to him instead, or else there will be one big problem between the two of them.

Goldust beats Tony DeVito.

It's time for Sunny Undercover. Sunny says that recently, The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) made their return to the WWF, but were contacted before their return by Clarence Mason. She then hints that The Legion of Doom and The Nation of Domination may be setting Ahmed Johnson up for the fall of his life at WrestleMania 13. She also says that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin may have more to worry about than Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, as an old friend of Austin's may not only be in attendance, but he may be ready to go off like a time bomb at a minute's notice. She then mentions that "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels will be at WrestleMania 13, and says that Austin isn't the only one who should have eyes in the back of his head. She then says it will be a three-on-one situation for Rocky Maivia at WrestleMania 13, and that he may be waving good-bye to the WWF Intercontinental Championship.

Vince's Got A Shotgun - Shotgun Saturday Night recap for March 1, 1997

The show starts with Kevin Kelly interviewing The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) in the audience. Animal says that like the people of Chicago, Illinois, they are from the streets, and they hope will all their might that they will be at WrestleMania. Hawk says you know how it is when you wake up in that dark alley in Chicago after sleeping on your cardboard mattress, and you wake up not because you have an alarm clock, but because a sewer rat is biting your big toe. He says that is what The Legion is all about. They had their psychological profiles checked, and it was not good, never had been and never will be as they like the way they are, and that it is everyone else who has to wrestle them who do not.

The Nation of Domination (Crush and Savio Vega) beat Goldust and Miguel Perez after Crush hits Goldust with a chair and puts Savio Vega on top of Goldust as the referee deals with disorder at ringside. After the match, Miguel Perez grabs a stel chair and nails both Crush and Savio Vega with it, forcing them to retreat.

The World Wrestling Federation is heading to Tyler, Texas; Buffalo, New York; Cleveland, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; Springfield, Massachusetts; Worcester, Massachusetts; Louisville, Kentucky; Landover, Maryland and New York City's Madison Square Garden!

Kevin Kelly interviews The Undertaker. The Undertaker decrees that from this day forward, WrestleMania 13 will be known as "WrestleMania the 13th." It will be lucky for some, and unlucky for Sycho Sid. He has sat back for years and let Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels have their day of glory, and he chose to represent causes instead of titles, but now the creatures of the night beckon for a world title. He says Sid may be the most physically intimidating athlete to walk the face of the earth today, but throughout his existence, he has laid giants to rest. He may not be the first, but he can be the last, and as big, strong and punishing as Sid can be, he has the ability to take all he has and a little bit more. He has no remorse for what he must do, and he must do it. At WrestleMania 13 is looking up, he will know that The Undertaker is the master and the master of the dark side, and if anyone decides to stand before darkness, all they need to do is line up as he is willing to lay everyone to rest, as Sycho Sid will rest in peace.

We see footage of the European Championship tournament in WWF's recent tour of Europe. This Monday night will see the birth of the WWF European Championship when The British Bulldog and Owen Hart square off in the finals to determine the inaugural WWF European Champion.

Blackjack Bradshaw beats Henry O. Godwinn after Bradshaw switches places with Blackjack Windham...almost. However, when the footage is replayed and another referee shows up and tells the referee of the match what happened, the decision is reversed and The Blackjacks (Bradshaw and Windham) get angry and attack the Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) only for The Godwinns to get the upper hand.

This Monday night on Raw: Mankind vs. Sycho Sid for the WWF Championship!

It is announced that "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels is currently rehabbing his knee and should be back in action soon. We then see a music video for Shawn Michaels.
