Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Sami Zayn. Sami says that people see him in a different light now because of Trick Williams and that he will put an end to this once and for all when he disrespects Trick like Trick disrespected him and beats him to become WWE United States Champion for the third time.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews The Miz and Kit Wilson. Kit Wilson says that he can look in the mirror and know he is not toxic, but Danhausen is toxic just for being in WWE. Miz says he does not care who Danhausen's mystery partner is, and insists that he is not cursed. He then says that he and Kit Wilson will rid WWE of the Danhausen problem once and for all.

We see a video package about how Florida Championship Wrestling - which would later become NXT - shaped WWE in the last several years.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews Danhausen. Danhausen says that his experiments in making a tag team partner are going well, and refuses to elaborate on who his tag team partner is, even telling Byron that he will be cursed if he asks him again.

Before the next match, Cathy Kelley interviews Trick Williams and Lil' Yachty. Trick tells Sami Zayn to quit lying, because he has been running the game since Sami saw him and that the games are now over.

Trick Williams retains the WWE United States Championship against Sami Zayn after Sami Zayn takes out Lil Yachty with a Helluva Kick and goes for one on Trick only for Trick to avoid it and hit the Trick Shot to win and retain.

The Long Family are the recipients of a seat upgrade courtesy of The General.

Danhausen's tag taem partner is revealed to be a Minihausen.

Danhausen and Minihausen beat The Miz and Kit Wilson after Minihausen is thrown back into the cloning machine by Kit Wilson only for multiple Minihausens to show up and Miz tries to use a fire extinguisher only for it to not work until he points the nozzle at himself and sprays himself and Kit Wilson in the process (despite Minihausen accidentally cursing himself thanks to Kit Wilson's mirror). After the match, Danhausen and the Minihausen's lights out "teleportation" both succeeds and fails in comedic fashion. (Minihausen is played by the current Mascarita Sagrada in AAA, who originally portrayed El Torito in WWE.)

Iyo Sky beats Asuka. During the match, Asuka goes for the blue mist spit, but Iyo Sky blocks it with a laptop on the announce desk. After the match, Asuka and Iyo Sky huge and make up.

Members of the Tampa Bay Lightning, WWE legend Dan Spivey and WWE legend Steve Keirn are seen in the crowd.

John Cena heads to the ring. Cena says that moments like this have him wondering what the next phase of his WWE career will be, and when the fans chant for one more match, Cena says he is happy with his loss to Gunther, as it was a night of opportunity. He talks about how that night also saw Sol Ruca, Je'Von Evans and Oba Femi in action, and gives Oba Femi props for beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Cena then announces "The John Cena Classic," which is an entire evening of the best of today competing with the best of tomorrow, where WWE and NXT Superstars give the best they have in hopes to be crowned champion. He also states that this event will debut a brand new championship for WWE that he is putting his name on, and for that, he is striving for a certain level of excellence and striving to make it special. John Cena also calls the WWE fans the real champions, and says that the fans' voices will be louder than ever before, as the fans will vote to crown the champion of the John Cena Classic. He also says that even if a Superstar does not win their match, they can still win the fans over and win the John Cena Classic. Cena promises to give everything he has to make sure this event happens for a long time to come. Cena thanks the locker room of today and tomorrow, WWE, and the fans both at the arena and at home for making this possible.

Roman Reigns retains the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu after exposing a turnbuckle and sending Jacob Fatu into it as Jacob has the Tongan Death Grip locked in. After the match, an angry Jacob Fatu puts the Tongan Death Grip on Roman again, and shoves the referee away when he tries to stop him before hitting him with a pop-up Samoan Drop. Jacob then raises the World Heavyweight Championship up in front of a downed Roman Reigns to end the show.

Backlash 2025 - The LIVE Results

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews Lyra Valkyria. Lyra says there is a lot going on in her head, and taht she is embarrassed for feeding into everything that Becky Lynch told her. She says Becky could have had a friend for life in her had she not attacked her, and while Becky is the superstar, she is the better wrestler and she is not a stepping stone as Becky becomes the crowning name of people she has defended the Women's Intercontinental Championship against.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews LA Knight. Knight says he is not just a workhorse, but a champion, and he stands here as a champion. He says that he is alright with coming to blows with Damian Priest as they are goingat it tonight, then says that he should not have to be dealing with Drew McIntyre, but he still has something for him, anyway. Knight then says that Jacob Fatu is the one that he is gunning or, and if anyone gets in his way, the backlash will be severe and everyone will know who the real champion is.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio. Dominik says he has already beaten Penta at WrestleMania, even though he pinned Finn Balor to do it, and that he also won on Monday, although Saxton mentions that it was with JD McDonagh's help. He then says that he is going to win against Penta tonight, then threatens to do Saxton's job for him.

Jacob Fatu retains the WWE United States Championship against LA Knight, Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest in a Fatal 4-Way Match after Priest takes McIntyre South of Heaven through a table and Solo Sikoa saves Jacob Fatu from a splash through the announce table, which leads to LA Knight being attacked from behind by Jeff Cobb. (One of the members of medical staff that checks on Priest and McIntyre is independent wrestler Nixi XS.)

Night of Champions will take place in Saudi Arabia and will be live on Peacock and Netflix on June 28th!

Lyra Valkyria retains the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship against Becky Lynch following a series of pinfall attempts despite Becky poking Lyra in the eyes. After the match, Becky immediately goes back on the attack on Lyra and puts her in the Dis-Arm-Her. During the match, Becky Lynch taunts Lyra's fiancée in the front row. Referees and officials show up to restore order and break the hold. Becky Lynch tries to rush back into the ring, but Jason Jordan refuses to let her do that.

"Dirty" Dominik Mysterio retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Penta. During the match, Carlito distracts the referee so that JD McDonagh and Finn Balor can attack Penta, but all three of them get ejected. Shortly afterwards, Finn Balor distracts the referee, which allows El Grande Americano to hit Penta with a headbutt with a loaded mask. Dominik then hits the top rope splash to retain.

Gunther beats Pat McAfee by submission with the sleeper hold despite some help near the end by Michael Cole. Gunther shows McAfee respect after the match.

Technical Seargant Michael Perkins is the recipients of the military spotlight and the Whatley American Vodka Seat Upgrade.

John Cena retains the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton in a match that sees two referees get knocked down (the first one more than once), SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis and four other officials getting RKO's from Orton (one of whom is played by independent wrestling Austin Mulitalo), and R-Truth getting in the way of a Randy Orton only to receive a RKO. The last moment allows Cena to hit Orton with a low blow followed by the WWE Championship to reain after the first referee comes to again and counts the pinfall. After the match, Cena demands competition.

We are introduced to the French commentary team of Phillipe Chérau and Christophe Agius.

The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga) beat Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. During the match, both teams brawl before the bell, and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis shows up to make the match a no disqualification, no count-out street fight. During the match, the ref is pulled out of the ring by Tonga Loa - Tama Tonga's brother - which allows Solo Sikoa with a Uranage into a chair followed by a Samoan Spike on Owens for the win.

Bayley retains the WWE Women's Championship Naomi and Tiffany Stratton in a Triple Threat Match. Naomi hugs Bayley in a show of respect after the match.

Backstage, "Main Event" Jey Uso is briefly met by The Bloodline (Paul Heyman, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa).

Damian Priest retains the World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso. During the match, JD McDonagh and Finn Balor show up to help Priest out, and at one point, McDonagh puts Priest's foot on the bottom rope after the Uso Splash. After the match, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh attack Jey Uso, but Priest shoves them off Jey, saying he is done.

Phillipe Chéreau announces in French that tonight's attendance is the largest gate of any arena show in WWE history.

Bianca Belair retains the WWE Raw Women's Championship against Iyo Sky after Bayley and Dakota Kai's interference and distractions backfire, with Bayley getting caught by referee Jason Ayers holding on grabbing Bianca's hair from the outside.

Backstage, Bad Bunny is met by Rey Mysterio. Savio Vega shows up with a Kendo stick with the Puerto Rican flag on it, and hands it to Bad Bunny.

Seth Rollins beats Omos with The Stomp from the top rope.

Austin Theory retains the WWE United States Championship against Bronson Reed and Bobby Lashley after Bronson Reed misses a top rope moonsault and gets Speared by Lashley afterwards only for Theory to throw Lashley out of the ring and pick the bones.

Rhea Ripley retains the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship against Zelina Vega. After the match, Zelina Vega receives a standing ovation.

Bad Bunny beats Damian Priest in a San Juan Street Fight that also sees Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio interfere only to get beaten up by Savio Vega, a suddenly appearing Carlito, and The Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro). After the match, Bad Bunny celebrates with Savio Vega, Carlito and the LWO.

The Bloodline (Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Solo Sikoa) beat Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Matt Riddle in a six-man tag match despite infighting between Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes beats Brock Lesnar after pushing Lesnar back onto his shoulders for the pinfall during the Kimura Lock.

Backstage, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode antagonize Dominik Mysterio before attacking him and toppling a large road crate on him.

Sheamus enters the ring. He says that for the past couple of weeks, he has issued open challenges to anyone who wants to step into the ring with him, and that tonight will be no different, even though it will not be for the United States title. He says that a title opportunity is earned, not given, yet he is still giving an opportunity to anyone who wants to face him. The open challenge is answered by Ricochet.

Sheamus beats Ricochet in the kick-off match. After the match, Sheamus brags about his victory and issuing more challenges for the United States Championship than anyone else, then Ricochet grabs Sheamus, beats him up and puts on his hat and coat. Sheamus charges at him, then Ricochet throws his hat and coat at him.

Batista narrates the introduction to tonight's show.

Rhea Ripley retains the WWE Raw Women's Championship against Asuka and Charlotte Flair in a Triple Threat Match.

Backstage, The Miz and John Morrison talk about tonight's lumberjack match with Damian Priest. Morrison says he will talk to the lumberjacks in their locker room and tell them that it will be in their best interest that Miz wins.

Backstage, Dominik Mysterio cannot compete due to the extent of his injuries from earlier tonight.

Rey and Dominik Mysterio beat Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode to become the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions! Despite being too hurt to compete, Dominik Mysterio shows up later in the match and competes. With this victory, Rey and Dominik are the very first father-son tag team to hold tag team gold in WWE. After the match, Kayla Braxton interviews Rey and Dominik. Rey says he is on top of the world right now, and Dominik says it is an honor and a blessing to share this victory with his father, and that it is now time to celebrate.

Backstage, John Morrison enters the lumberjack locker room only to find nothing but zombies. He leaves the door open when he leaves, and the zombies shuffle out. (The zombies are a tie-in to Army of the Dead, starring Batista.)

Backstage, Jimmy Uso enters Roman Reigns' dressing room and meets with Jey Uso, saying that they should be a team instead of Jey being Roman's lackey. Roman Reigns shows up, and Jimmy says he wishes Roman luck.

Backstage, John Morrison tells The Miz about the zombies, but The Miz does not believe him. Meanwhile, the zombies are seen ambling towards the ring.

Damian Priest beats The Miz in a lumberjack match where all the lumberjacks are zombies in an Army of the Dead movie tie-in. After the match, the zombies - having gotten Morrison earlier - pile on top of The Miz in the ring.

Backstage, Jey Uso confronts Jimmy Uso. Jimmy says that even with him in his corner, Roman can still lose the WWE Universal Championship, then once again calls Jey "Roman's bitch."

Bianca Belair retains the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship against Bayley when Bayley tries to use Bianca's ponytail against her. After the match, Bayley calls Bianca a cheater at the announce table for using her hair to win.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews MVP, who says that Braun Strowman's display of destruction last week shows he makes poor business decisions and lacks the intellectual capacity to be WWE Champion. He then says that Drew McIntyre is smart and savvy enough to see the big picture and that the big picture is not looking good for him, and despite Bobby Lashley being at a disadvantage, he will overcome any obstacle put in front of him.

Bobby Lashley retains the WWE Championship against Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre in a Triple Threat Match despite being put through some LED boards by McIntyre and taken out of the match for several minutes.

Before the next match, Roman Reigns tells Jey Uso to go find his brother Jimmy Uso, thinking that Jey is doubting his ability to win tonight.

Roman Reigns retains the WWE Universal Championship against Cesaro with the guillotine choke after one of Cesaro's arms is hurt during the match. After the match, Jey Uso places the bead necklace around Roman Reign's neck, then superkicks Cesaro and attacks him. As Jey is about to hit Cesaro with the Uso Splash, Seth Rollins shows up. Seth and Roman have a staredown, then Seth Rollins laughs before attacking Cesaro and hitting him with a steel chair. He then closes the chair on Cesaro's hurt arm before slamming the chair into a ring post. Seth then hits Cesaro with The Stomp.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Christian and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Flair talks about how Randy Orton lost in the Last Man Standing Match but will stay the greatest in-ring performer after tonight, but Christian says that Edge was working to get back into the ring and that Orton's last name didn't get Orton everything. He says that Orton took the path of least resistance that Edge had to scratch and claw for everything, and tonight, he is banking on passion and grit to overcome passion and help Edge win tonight.

The Miz and John Morrison's music video for "Hey! Hey Hey" is finally played after having been interrupted on SmackDown.

Apollo Crews retains the WWE United States Championship against Andrade after Kevin Owens stops Angel Garza's interference attempt.

We hear from Sheamus, who says that tempers flared out of control and that he is willing to put Friday night behind him as he knows how much pain Jeff Hardy is when Jeff knows that he is not the beacon of hope he thinks he is. He says that the sober Jeff Hardy is a "false flicker of hope" before he succumbs to his demons and realizes that he is a junkie who is an embarrassment to everyone including himself, and tonight, he will make this known when he Brogue Kicks him off the wagon and back into obscurity.

Before the next match, Kayla Braxton interviews Bayley and Sasha Banks. Sasha says that even if they lose, their friendship is unstoppable, and Bayley says that they are unstoppable, unbeatable and unconquerable.

Bayley and Sasha Banks retain the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships against the team of Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross and The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce) after Sasha Banks picks the bones after Alexa Bliss hits Peyton Royce with Twisted Bliss.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews The Miz and John Morrison, who find out that they will not be co-Universal Champions if either of them win. Miz and Morrison say they are fine. Miz says Braun Strowman may have fixed his windshield, but he will not be able to fix his sense of loss tonight. Otis and Mandy Rose show up, and Otis tells them that he might cash in if either of them win.

Nia Jax vs. Asuka for the WWE Raw Women's Championship ends in a double count-out. Asuka retains the WWE Raw Women's Championship, then hits Nia Jax with a hip attack off the ring apron.

Backstage, MVP readies Bobby Lashley's WWE Championship celebration when Lana shows up to say Lashley is successful because of her. MVP tells Lana that he knows that she is afraid of what Lashley will say if she has this conversation with him.

Before the next match, The Miz says that before he or John Morrison become Universal Champion, he and Morrison need a "pump-up." Morrison proposes sharing the music video for "Hey! Hey Hey." The music video is interrupted by Braun Strowman's entrance during the second verse.

Braun Strowman retains the WWE Universal Championship against The Miz and John Morrison in a 2-in-1 handicap match after Miz pulls Morrison out of a pinfall attempt, which ends up costing Miz and Morrison the match.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, who announces that this Friday, there will be a championship presentation. He says that while Daniel Bryan dreams, he makes his dreams happen, as Daniel is not phenomenal.

Drew McIntyre retains the WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley after Lana shows up and gets on the ring apron, distracting Lashley and allowing McIntyre to send Lashley into Lana - who falls onto MVP - with a Glasgow Kiss before hitting the Claymore Kick for the win. Before the match, Lashley puts McIntyre in a full nelson, and it takes three referees to get Lashley to let go.

Backstage, The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) brawl outside the Performance Center and around Braun Strowman's car, breaking the car's front windshield. They quickly run into the building and brawl there. Both teams realize they are acting ridiculously and put all their weapons down at the same time, then start brawling again. As Erik and Dawkins brawl, Ivar picks up the bowling ball and looks back on their bowling match, then throws the bowling ball into Ford's crotch. Ivar catches up with Erik, but is tackled through a glass window by Dawkins. Ivar looks back to all the turkey legs he had, then Erik and Ford help their partners up. Before they can fight some more, men on motorcycles show up. One of them gets off his bike, and the bikers reveal themselves to be Akira Tozawa and a bunch of ninjas. The Viking Raides and The Street Profits become the Viking Profits and fight off Tozawa and the ninjas. Suddenly, Akira Tozawa brings out a tall ninja. The Viking Profits escape wen they realize they have no chance and walk across the top of a truck, where Ivar gets tired. Afterwards, both teams break up and start fighting again. Both teams soon fall into a dumpster, and Ivar looks back to all the times he was called cute while Erik was told "You...not so much." A referee finds them, says Ivar is cute - Erik, not so much - then both teams learn there is a crocodile in the dumpster and frantically climb out.

Randy Orton beats Edge in what is billed as "The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" and what is Edge's first regular singles match in over nine years with a low blow followed by his trademark punt. The match is marked with cinematic camera angles, enhanced audio, referee Charles Robinson wearing a powder blue shirt, black bowtie and pants as well as posthumous pre-recorded fight introductions from the late ring announcer Howard Finkel. After the match, Orton tells Edge to go home to his wife and family. Medical personnel show up to put Edge on a stretcher, but Edge gets up under his own power.

Backlash 2018 - The Results

In the locker room, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel are figuring out who they should team up with when The Miz shows up. He says he could not be happier about them due to their mind games with Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. Miz looks back on the day he knew Bo and Curtis were destined to become The Miztourage, and he hopes they can do something as a team again tonight. Bo Dallas tops Curtis from following Miz, telling Miz they are not the supporting cast in his story anymore.

In the locker room, Bayley is met by Sasha Banks. Bayley says she is done fighting with her and wants her in her corner with Ruby Riott. Sasha thinks this is too convenient. Bayley says she can handle Ruby like she did Sasha. Bayley says she wanted to extend the olive branch after what happened to her at the hands of The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan, Liv Morgan), but if she is too pigheaded to admit it, she will do this herself. Sasha tells Bayley she is on her own.

Raw General Manager Kurt Angle and SmackDown Live General Manager Paige field questions from social media. Angle says his dream opponent in this generation is Daniel Bryan, and says he has wanted to wrestle him for about five years. Paige says the hardest part of being General Manager is calling things down the middle, and Angle says the hardest thing is having so many hours in the show per week. Paige says she is looking forward to "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. "The Artist" Shinsuke Nakamura in a no-disqualification match for the WWE Championship as well as Charlotte Flair vs. Carmella for the SmackDown Women's Championship. Angle is looking forward to Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax for the Raw Women's title and Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe.

Ruby Riott beats Bayley following the distraction by Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan.

Seth Rollins retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against The Miz despite hurting his right knee during a missed Revolution Knee that hits the ring post.

Nia Jax retains the WWE Raw Women's Championship against Alexa Bliss. After the match, Nia Jax says that her victory is for everyone has been bullied or is being bullied, and says that no one is alone and that it is okay to be different. She tells everyone not to be ordinary, but to be extraordinary, and that you don't have to change for anybody. She says that she is proud of who she is, and that at tehe end of the day, a bully always get their ass kicked.

Dasha Fuentes interviews Samoa Joe, who says that Roman Reigns has lost, confidence, speed, power and determination, and tonight, Roman Reigns loses to him. Joe wants Roman to feel pain, and tonight, Roman will see his face and lament all his failures when he closes his eyes, for he will turn "The Big Dog" into a whimpering puppy.

Jeff Hardy retains the WWE United States Championship against Randy Orton.

Elias is in the ring. He claims that he is close friends with Bruce Springsteen and that they talk about a lot of things, and that Bruce always mentions that he is from New Jersey. Elias says the state is a toilet, and says he has told him to tune in tonight for the song he is about to play. As he tells everyone to be quiet, people cheer. He eventually threatens to leave, but as he goes from leaving to getting back to his stool, the crowd alternates between cheering Elias and booing him. Suddenly, The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) shows up, and Xavier Woods gives Elias props for his music. Kofi asks Elias if he wants to jam with The New Day. Elias asks if they want to jam with Elias, but Xavier says they want to walk with Elias. Elias says he is a solo act, then The New Day start playing the cymbals, drums and trombone. Elias calls a halt to the music and says there is potential for them to open for him, but tonight is his night. Before Elias can play, however, Aiden English interrupts. Aiden English introduces Rusev, then Elias calls to a halt to the music again. Rusev says he and Aiden do whatever they want, and there is only one person who celebrates a holiday in his honor as he calls Elias a "bootleg Bob Dylan." Elias gets irritated and goes back to playing, but he is interrupted a third time by No Way Jose. Titus O'Neil, Apollo Crews, Dana Brooke, Tyler Breeze and Fandango are part of No Way Jose's conga line. Elias calls for the music to be stopped, then says tonight is his night and he demands nobody interrupt him again. Daniel Bryan beats Big Cass with the Yes! Lock in his first singles match since his return to full-time competition, having to pummel the side of Cass' head to lock the hold in. After the match, Big Cass assaults Daniel Bryan from behind. The crowd chants "You tapped out!" at Cass as he tosses Daniel Bryan into the ring and hits him with a big boot.

Carmella retains the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair after Charlotte tweaks her left knee after landing on her feet from backflipping off the top rope.

"The Artist" Shinsuke Nakamura vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles in a no-disqualification match for the WWE Championship ends in a double count-out after both men fail to get back up from kicking each other in the groin.

Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley beats Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn after Owens and Sami disagree on whether or not to retreat. This leads to Sami grabbing Owens by the hair and slapping him before running away again and leaving Owens high and dry, even though Sami Zayn is the legal man. After the match, Strowman and Lashley refuses to let Sami leave, and they get Owens back into the ring. Strowman hits Owens with a running powerslam, then does the same to Sami Zayn when he tries to leave afterwards.

Backlash 2017 - The LIVE Results

Dolph Ziggler says he is prepared for "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura, as there is no footage of him before tonight and that he will be the one delivering tonight, not Nakamura. He says his match with Nakamura will be a clinic, and that all the fans will be let down when Nakamura tonight. Ziggler also announces that their match is the first one on the card.

Dasha Fuentes interviews Sami Zayn in the Social Media Lounge. Sami Zayn says he has a shot at beating Baron Corbin tonight. As for whether or not he has gotten better opportunities since moving to SmackDown Live, he feels there has been more opportunities to mix it up with amazing competitors. Also, Sami Zayn - on the question of what his secret is to a positive attitude - says it's all about looking ahead.

"The Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger beats Aiden English.

"The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura beats Dolph Ziggler in his main roster debut.

Before the next match, Tyler Breeze shows up dressed as a janitor. (He pretends to be one on the apron during the match.)

We see a sneak peak at a new Rocket League video by UpUpDownDown, followed by an announcement that Xavier Woods will be at the Rocket League Championship Series on June 2nd.

After The Singh Brothers (Sunil and Samir Singh) roll the Persian rug out for Jinder Mahal, Jinder says Chicago, Illinois is full of haters who hate him for how he looks and talks. He says he will turn the hatred into something almost holy. He is a peaceful man, but he is an animal when provoked, and he will turn the WWE Universe into believers and prove he is the modern day Maharaja when he wins the WWE Championship.

The Welcoming Committee (Natalya, Carmella, Tamina) beat Charlotte Flair, Naomi and Becky Lynch after Becky Lynch submits to Natalya's Sharpshooter.

Kevin Owens retains the WWE United States Championship against AJ Styles by count-out after countering a Styles Clash on a commentary table by sending Styles' right foot into an opening on said table, causing his foot to be caught in some cords. After the match, Owens superkicks Styles as the referee frees Styles from the cords. Styles has to be helped to the back after the match.

Luke Harper beats Erick Rowan.

Jinder Mahal beats Randy Orton - who is distracted with both of The Singh Brothers (Sunil and Samir Singh) - with a Cobra Clutch slam from behind to win the WWE Championship!

Well, isn't this something. Jinder Mahal managed to win a battle royal to become the #1 contender for the WWE Championship...and he's taking advantage of his time by stealing the title belt and posing with it and enlisting the help of The Singh Brothers (formerly The Bollywood Boyz). Now these two will finally meet, and this match will not be a cakewalk for either man...

My prediction: Randy Orton will probably retain.

Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango)
vs. The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) (c)

for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships

Breezango have won a Tag Team Turmoil match to become #1 contenders after not doing a whole lot in the tag team division. Now these unlikely contenders for the blue brand tag titles have their toughest opponents as a team in The Usos. Can they somehow perform the unthinkable, or will The Usos keep the titles on lock?

My prediction: The Usos will probably retain.

AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens (c)

for the WWE United States Championship

Kevin Owens has dreams of making SmackDown "The Kevin Owens Show," but AJ Styles has plans of keeping it as the house that he built. Now that Styles is #1 contender for the United States Championship that Kevin Owens has brought over to Tuesday nights, can Styles keep building on that foundation and add another title to his extensive career, or will The Kevin Owens Show be renewed and become the face of both America and WWE?

My prediction: AJ Styles will be taking the title.

"The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura

Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler, jaded and jealous as ever of the newer talent coming in, has beef with Nakamura getting instant fan approval without even wrestling a match on the main roster. Now these two will finally go at it at Backlash in what will be Nakamura's main roster debut match after making the poster for the event so red it almost looks like a Raw pay-per-view.

My prediction: Nakamura is winning this one, no question.

Charlotte Flair, Naomi and Becky Lynch
vs.
The Welcoming Committee (Natalya, Carmella, Tamina)

When Charlotte Flair got switched to SmackDown as part of the Superstar Shake-Up and acted like she owned the blue brand, a few of the Women's Division stars did not take too kindly to that. When this new "welcoming committee" tried to get more people to join their cause, that didn't sit well with Naomi, and it sure did not sit well with Becky Lynch. Now Charlotte and two other SmackDown Superstars in the Women's Division have to calm this mob down before they can get even angrier...

My prediction: Charlotte, Naomi and Becky Lynch will probably take this one.

Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin

Ever since Sami Zayn has come aboard the blue brand, Baron Corbin has just been furious with him just for being successful...and Sami Zayn knows it. Now Sami wants a match with him just to put this to rest...but is Sami biting off more than he can chew?

My prediction: Corbin just might take this one.

Erick Rowan vs. Luke Harper

On the final Talking Smack before Backlash, Erick Rowan made a surprise, announced appearance where he showed off multiple sheep masks and showed his disappointment with Luke Harper leaving The Wyatt Family, saying that when someone leaves the Family, they leave him. Now that match is made official thanks to SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon. This is going to be an all-out war...

My prediction: Luke Harper might take this one.

WWE Backlash 2016 - The LIVE Results

During the kick-off, Daniel Bryan asks Apollo Crews to have more fun and get loose when he gets in the ring. Baron Corbin calls the advice "a waste of time" as he shows up as criticizes D-Bry for leaving him off SmackDown Live and Backlash after he beat Dean Ambrose, and says it's because Daniel Bryan is wasting time with nobodies like Crews. When Corbin askes Crews if he has a spelling bee to go to, Crews says the spelling bee is tomorrow and that tonight he's free to kick his A-S-S. Daniel Bryan makes this one-on-one match official for later in the kick-off.

Tom Phillips interviews Heath Slater and Rhyno in the Social Media Lounge. When asked "What if you lose?" Slater says he can't lose, as he can't feed his kids and make history. Rhyno and Heath Slater argue about putting tiki torches around the pool for after they no longer have to go to the community pool. Rhyno lets it slip that one of the kids is driving without a license while helping Heath Slater with the cardio to prepare for the match. When asked how they'll celebrate if they win, Slater plans on yelling at the top of his lungs while Rhyno looks forward to beating up more guys and Golden Corral.

Alexa Bliss shows up on the kick-off table. She makes it absolutely clear that she is not leaving tonight without the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship.

Earlier today, Renee Young interviews Jagger Eaton of Jagger Eaton's Mega Life. We hear about the show as well as some of Jagger's exploits on the show.

The show begins with a 15th anniversary message pertaining to the September 11th attacks which states that freedom is not free.

SmackDown Live General Manager Shane McMahon shows up to start the show, followed by Commissioner Daniel Bryan. Shane thanks the fans for making SmackDown Live a success, and Daniel Bryan announces they will keep the momentum going tonight with the Intercontinental, World, SmackDown Tag Team and SmackDown Women's title matches...with the SmackDown Women's title match happening first.

Becky Lynch beats Carmella, Nikki Bella, Natalya, Naomi and Alexa Bliss in a Six-Pack Challenge to become the inaugural WWE SmackDown Women's Champion! In a post-match interview with Charlie Caruso, Becky Lynch thanks the fans for all their support and getting her this far.

The Miz confronts Jagger Eaton for stealing his dressing room. Jagger Eaton invites Miz onto his show to make it up to him, saying he'd love to have him there "unless we can get John Cena instead." As Miz gets mad, Jagger says "Have your people call my people" before slamming the door in his face.

Bray Wyatt attacks Randy Orton backstage.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) come out to their usual entrance theme, but now with white hoodies and sneakers and black everything else, with no jovial behavior, no facepaint and no smiles as they take their anger out on the fans.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) beat The Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley) with the kick to the back of Ryder's knee and the submission move that put Chad Gable out of action to continue to the finals of the SmackDown Tag Team title tournament.

Renee Young interviews Heath Slater and Rhyno. Slater says that he is focused right now and that nothing can stop a Rhyno. Before Rhyno can say anything, Heath Slater says that his stomach is driving him nuts due to his wife Beulah's crab dip. After it's clear that Slater's stomach is doing the green apple quickstep, Rhyno says that was too much information. Slater has to use the bathroom again, and Renee Young leaves before Rhyno can say anything.

Before the next match, The Miz aggravates Daniel Bryan by wanting to re-negotiate his contract, then tells him to watch him do what he can't do anymore.

The Miz retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler after Maryse sprays something into Dolph Ziggler's eyes.

Bray Wyatt shows up. It is announced that Randy Orton cannot compete due to injury, and Bray Wyatt beats Randy Orton by forfeit. However, it is announced that Bray Wyatt will compete in a no-holds barred match against Kane.

Kane beats Bray Wyatt in a no-holds barred match after Randy Orton shows up and RKOs Wyatt.

AJ Styles runs into two local competitors...and verbally puts them down.

Heath Slater and Rhyno beat The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) to become the inaugural WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions! Heath Slater now has a contract on the SmackDown brand. Charlie Caruso interviews Slater and Rhyno after the match, and after Slater screams at the top of his longs, he thanks Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon for giving him a chance, then tells his wife they're getting a double wide.

AJ Styles beats Dean Ambrose to win the WWE World Championship after Styles sends Ambrose into the referee to reverse a Dirty Deeds before hitting a low blow as the ref is down before hitting Ambrose with the Styles Clash for the victory.

After The Miz made an epic rant on the August 23rd edition of Talking Smack, Dolph Ziggler confronted Miz the next week on SmackDown, calling Miz the real coward and that nobody likes him because he's only in it to be famous. Now these two are facing each other, and the Intercontinental title is on the line.

My prediction: Dolph Ziggler is taking the title.

Backlash 2000 - The Results

Debra shows up for the first time in months and is special guest ring announcer for the next match. (At this point, Debra is living together with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who also has not been seen in WWF in six months before last week's SmackDown; they were living together at the time and were not yet married.)

Edge and Christian retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against D-Generation X ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and X-Pac) after Christian hits X-Pac in the head with the ring bell as referee Jimmy Korderas is distracted with "Road Dogg" Jesse James and Tori on the outside.

The Rock is seen coming out of his limousine.

Dean Malenko retains the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship against Scotty 2 Hotty with a DDT from the top rope.

Backstage, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon asks Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco if they are back with the McMahons. They say they are, and Vince says that if they really are, then tonight is "all hands on deck."

The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan beat The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) after Boss Man hits Bradshaw in the face with a nightstick.

Backstage, Matt Hardy tells Jeff Hardy that they may have to face each other should push come to shove in the six-man match for the WWF Hardcore Championship, and come to agreement that neither of them will hold anything back. Meanwhile, Crash Holly tries to come to the same agreement with Hardcore Holly, but Hardcore slaps him in the back of the head for saying "may the best man win."

Crash Holly retains the WWF Hardcore Championship against Hardcore Holly, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Tazz and Perry Saturn.

Backstage, Jonathan Coachman interviews WWF co-owner Shane McMahon. Shane appreciates the opportunity that his father WWF Chairman Vince McMahon has given him to referee the WWF Championship match and that he trusts his refereeing ability, as he plants on being impartial. He feels that he is the man who can call this match right down the middle.

Before the next match, Kurt Angle finds it fitting to be in Washington, D.C., as he and the town have a lot in common. He says that like George Washington, he cannot tell a lie, and calls Big Show "a giant waste of talent." He says that he is honest almost to a fault like Abraham Lincoln, and says that if Big Show has his "3 I's," he would not be such a big disappointment. He then says that he is nothing like Marion Berry, and that he is disappointed in the city for re-electing him. He then says that everyone in America, including the President, is a liar and a cheater, which is where he comes in. He says that he is the only hero America has left. Big Show then comes out to Hulk Hogan's WWF entrance theme as "The Showster," even dressing like Hulk Hogan and even wearing a bald cap and fake blonde mustache. He then imitates Hulk Hogan's voice as he asks asks Angle what he is going to do when "The Showster" goes wild on him.

Big Show beats Kurt Angle.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews Trish Stratus. Trish says Buh Buh Ray Dudley is a passionate man who is not afraid to express his true emotions, and he likes that. She says most men bottle up all that frustration and tension, and then go home one day and explode, but Buh Buh Ray is special. She says that he will find out how she feels. Meanwhile, D-Von Dudley catches Buh Buh Ray watching the interview on a monitor, and tells him to take bac their business from "That bleached blonde bimbo" Trish Stratus.

Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins is seen in the front row.

T&A (Test and Albert) beats The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) after Trish Stratus distracts Buh Buh Ray Dudley on the apron. After the match, Albert falls victim to a Dudley Death Drop, then Buh Buh Ray Dudley grabs Trish Stratus by the hair and D-Von Dudley pulls a table out from underneath the ring. Trish kisses Buh Buh Ray once again, but this time, Buh Buh Ray does not fall into a trance and Trish gets powerbombed off the top rope into the table. Referees and EMTs check on Trish Stratus, who is fitted with a neck brace before being placed on a stretcher and into an ambulance. As this goes on, Edie Guerrero and Chyna - coming in late straight from their prom - find out that they are late for Eddie's match, and learn that if Eddie does not go out there right now, he will be forfeiting the WWF European Championship. Eddie and Chyna drive to the ring in the 1957 Chevrolet they showed up in.

Eddie Guerrero retains the WWF European Championship against Essa Rios. After the match, Essa Rios drop kicks Eddie into Chyna, and Lita rips Chyna's prom dress, much to the chagrin of Chyna and to the delight of Eddie. During the match, it is announced that Trish Stratus has been taken to a local medical facility.

Backstage, Johnathan Coachman interviews Triple H, who says that he is "The Game" because he is the WWF Champion and that damn good, and tonight, he will prove to the world once and for all and to The Rock that he is that good. He then interviews WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, who says that, according to his sources, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin may have suffered some transportation difficulties and may not make it here tonight.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews Chris Benoit, who says that Chris Jericho has not problem telling the world how good he is. He says that Jericho likes comparing him to a robot, but he has emotions and he plans to enjoy expressing his emotions all over Jericho and the Jerichoholics in the arena tonight. He tells Jericho he is the happiest man on Earth right now, as he knows exactly what he is going to do to Chris Jericho and he is going to take a lot of pleasure in doing it.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho says that Chris Benoit seems awfully insulted that he refers to him as "Mr. Roboto," and tells him not to feel bad as Washington, DC is full of expressionless, emotionless, deprogrammed drones called "politicians," and that he plans to veto "President Roboto's" Intercontinental title reign and do something every Jerichoholic has dreamed of doing: beating the hell out of a politician.

Chris Benoit retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Chris Jericho by disqualification. During the match, Chris Jericho inadvertently knocks out referee Tim White with a cross body, and Benoit takes advantage by hitting Jericho with the Intercontinental Championship; Jericho kicks out at two. Benoit then goes for a snap vertical suplex on the Intercontinental Championship followed by a headbutt from the top rope, but Jericho rolls out of the way and Benoit falls head-first into the title belt. At this point, referee Tim White comes to, notices what is going on, stop s the match and gives Benoit the win by disqualification. Jericho then confronts Tim White before putting him in the Walls of Jericho, and other referees have to show up to get him to break the hold.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews The Rock, who says "Stone Cold" Steve Austin culd be anywhere, but everyone can count on him winning the WWF Championship tonight. Regardless of who he has to go through, he will go through them along with Triple H, as he is making history and he is making it now.

Before the next match, WWF Chairman Vince McMahon announces that on the programs everyone get, there is a message that says "Card subject to change." He announces that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will not be here tonight.

The Rock beats Triple H to win the WWF Championship! During a match that sees constant interference from the McMahon family, including WWF Chairman Vince McMahon hitting The Rock in the back with the WWF Championship and special guest referee Shane McMahon refusing to count a pinfall attempt for The Rock only to receive a Rock Bottom through the Spanish announce table alongside Triple H for his troubles. After the latter happens, Vince brings out Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco, who are wearing referee's shirts. When The Rock kicks out of a Pedigree, Briscoe and Patterson take the boots to The Rock before holding him up for Triple H. WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley hands Vince aasteel chair, and as Triple H holds The Rock, Vince swings it into The Rock's head. As Triple H gets THe Rock up for another Pedigree, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up with a steel chair and smacks Triple H, Patterson and Brisco when they rush at him. Shane is back in the ring, and he and Vince also receive steel chair shots to the head. Triple H returns with a chair of his own, but Austin kicks him in the gut, hits Triple H with the chair and leaves. As he leaves, WWF co-owner Linda McMahon shows up with Earl Hebner - who is in a referee's shirt, and shoves Stephanie when she confronts her. The Rock hits Triple H with a spinebuster, then hits The People's Elbow. Linda commands Hebner to get in the ring, and Hebner makes the three count that gives The Rock the WWF Championship for the fourth time. After the match, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin returns - this time in a Ford pick-up truck with "Stone Cold" decals on the front and sides that is towing the damaged DX Express behind it - and and hands The Rock a beer so that they can drink together. Both men give a toast to the WWF Championship and drink, then Austin leaves while The Rock celebrates in the ring to end the show.

In Your House 28: Backlash - The Results

The Ministry of Darkness (Mideon, Faarooq, Bradshaw) beat The Brood (Gangrel, Edge, Christian) after Viscera shows up and squashes Christian on the side of the ring.

The Rock is seen entering the arena while dragging "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's custom-made WWF Championship belt on the floor.

Al Snow beats Hardcore Holly with a shot from Head to become the WWF Hardcore Champion in a hardcore match that goes in and out of the arena.

We see footage from earlier today of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin entering the arena.

The Undertaker is seen talking to The Ministry of Darkness. He tells Mideon and The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) that even though their recent fumblings have not been forgotten, they have been forgiven. He then says that they must look to the future and prepare for the arrival of their unholiness and higher power. He says the destruction and the tragedy now begins.

Before the next match, The Blue Meanie parodies Sable's pre-match announcement. When The Godfather shows up, he tells Goldust he is not offering him any of his hos, as "they don't want no scrubs."

The Godfather retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Goldust. During the match, The Blue Meanie distracts referee Jimmy Korderas so that Goldust can toss powder into The Godfather's face. The Godfather is able to knock the powder into Goldust's face, blinding him. The Blue Meanie gets in the ring, but Goldust inadvertently beats him up and hits him with Shattered Dreams. The Godfather whips The Blue Meanie into Goldust before hitting the Ho Train, then pins Goldust to retain the match.

Michael Cole interviews Al Snow in the bathroom. Snow argues with Head over who is WWF Hardcore Champion.

Before the next match, Debra shows up in a two-piece swimsuit with a red suit jacket over it. "Road Dogg" Jesse James says everyone came here for two reasons, and tells Debra to "show us those puppies." Debra is about to take the jacket off when Jeff Jarrett stops her. Road Dogg tells Jarrett that kind of control is for The Jerry Springer Show, but Jarrett continues to keep Debra from taking her jacket off. Road Dogg says Jarrett and Owen Hart may be spoilsports, but he and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn are not, and tells Gunn to "show 'em that ass!" Owen attacks Billy Gunn from behind, starting the next match.

The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) beat Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett to become the #1 contenders for the WWF Tag Team Championships after Billy Gunn kicks out of a Figure Four Leg Lock attempt by Jarrett and breaks up a Sharpshooter on Road Dogg. After the match, Billy Gunn finally shows the crowd his ass.

Michael Cole interviews WWF co-owner Shane McMahon. Shane says that he is running the show, and gives his word on the name of his grandfather Vincent James McMahon that if "Stone Cold" Steve Austin can pin The Rock's shoulders to the mat, he will make the three-count. He also tells WWF co-owner Vince McMahon to take Stephanie McMahon to the skybox, enjoy the show and stay out of his way.

Kevin Kelly interviews WWF co-owner Vince McMahon. Vince says it is surreal that Shane is running the show, but he considers protecting his family more important and hopes Shane does not believe everything that he has said tonight. Stephanie says Shane knows how much his grandfather meant to his father, and knows exactly what he was saying when he gave his word on his grandfather's name. Vince says Shane made a big mistake last week, and hopes that tonight, he does not make a bigger one.

"The Big Show" Paul Wight makes his way into the boiler room, and looks for Mankind. Mankind ends up finding him, and the Boiler Room Brawl begins.

Mankind beats "The Big Show" Paul Wight in a violent Boiler Room Brawl in which he cuts his left hand while putting a plate of glass through Big Show hand. Immediately after the match, Test and The Big Boss Man attack Mankind, but Big Show gets back up and goes after them and chases Boss Man out of the boiler room. Test falls victim to a Mandible Claw from Mankind.

Michael Cole interviews "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna. Chyna says they always get what they want, but they do not want an ungrateful punk who forgot how he got in the WWF and who put him over in the first place. She tells X-Pac that there is a pecking order in the WWF, and that it is time somebody put him in his place. Triple H tells X-Pac he made his decision and asked for this, and now he's going to get it. He tells X-Pac he made his ass, and now he is going to break it.

We see footage of "The Big Show" Paul Wight finding out he will need a few stitches in his head and right hand, the latter of which has been dislocated. Meanwhile, Mankind says he does not want to face Big Show anymore as he has kids. He then takes a trip down memory lane in the boiler room.

"Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley beats X-Pac in a match that sees Triple H with a new aggressive streak and X-Pac hurt his neck in the middle of the match. During the match, X-Pac accidentally drills referee Mike Chioda with a baseball slide to the head before hitting Triple H with the X-Factor. Chyna then gets in the ring and hits X-Pac with a low blow followed by an inverted DDT before placing Triple H on top of X-Pac. Suddenly, Kane shows up and tries to choke slam Chyna, but when Triple H gets involved, he gets choke slammed before the same happens to Chyna. He then places Triple H and Chyna in opposite corners, then leaves just as Chioda comes to and gets back in the ring. X-Pac hits both Triple H and Chyna with the Bronco Buster. Triple H is able to get back up, however, and hit X-Pac with the Pedigree to win the match.

The Undertaker beats "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock. During the match, Bradshaw shows up with a baseball bat, but Shamrock knocks him off the apron. The Undertaker gets Shamrock into a choke slam, but Shamrock reverses it into a Cross Arm Breaker. Paul Bearer distracts the referee when Shamrock goes for an ankle lock, then Shamrock goes for a belly-to-belly suplex on The Undertaker only for The Undertaker to reverse it into a Tombstone Piledriver. After the match, Bradshaw attacks Shamrock before choking him out with the baseball bat, then leaves the bat behind when he leaves the ring.

WWF co-owner Vince McMahon asks Stephanie McMahon to stay in the limo outside of the arena, and asks the nearby police officers to watch Stephanie until the next match is over.

Before the next match, WWF co-owner and special guest referee asks someone outside of the ring to take "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's custom-made WWF Championship belt to his office.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin retains the WWF Championship against The Rock in a match with WWF co-owner Shane McMahon as special guest referee. During the match, The Rock not only speaks into a headset from the Spanish commentary team, but he also gets a camera and mocks Austin before flipping him off, panning through the crowd and then panning back to Austin only for Austin to get back on his feet and hit a Stone Cold Stunner. When the match gets back in the ring, The Rock pushes Austin into Shane, but instead of disqualifying Austin and costing him the WWF Championship, he places The Rock's arm on Austin only for Austin to kick out. Shane then grabs the WWF Championship belt and waits for Austin to get back up. Both Austin and The Rock get on their feet at the same time, and Shane accidentally hits The Rock. When it comes time to make the pinfall for Austin, he flips him off instead of counting to three, proving his word to be worth nothing. WWF co-owner Vince McMahon shows up with Austin's custom-made WWF Championship belt, and when Shane confronts him, Vince hits in the head with it and sends Earl Hebner into the ring. The Rock hits Austin with the WWF Championship, but Austin kicks out and hits The Rock with the title and hits a Stunner to retain the WWF Championship. After the match, Vince pushes Austin's custom-made belt to Austin, effectively handing it back to him.

Stephanie McMahon is still in the limousine, near the police. When The Ministry of Darkness show up, the police give the signal for the limo to speed away immediately. Stephanie asks the driver to stop and wait for her father Vince McMahon, but the divider opens and The Undertaker is revealed to be the driver. The Undertaker asks "Where to, Stephanie?" and laughs as Stephanie screams.
