Emergence, Night Two - Impact Wrestling recap for August 25, 2020

Eddie Edwards retains the Impact World Championship against Rob Van Dam. After the match, Eric Young runs into the ring and attacks Eddie from behind, telling Eddie he has him next week for the World title, as the World title goes through him.

On Wrestle House, Cody Deaner gets ready for a toga party at the house. Suddenly, Cousin Jake throws powder into Cody's face while playing "Fuji," a game proposed by Johnny Swinger. Meanwhile, Johnny Swinger is getting ready, and he tells Crazzy Steve he should dress with style. Swinger says that the two of them will "Fuji" everyone else in the house and have all the women to themselves.

At the Wrestle House toga party, everyone dances and has a few drinks. Taya Valkyrie is drunk when Kylie Rae shows up, and Taya throws up on Crazzy Steve's back. As it is noticed that Rosemary and Larry D are not at the party, Acey Romero tells The Deaners he did not steal their beer. Larry D shows up dressed for a date with Rosemary, and Johnny Swinger tries to throw powder at him only to hit Crazzy Steve. Tommy Dreamer finds out about this, and this leads to a match. Crazzy Steve proposes the match be a Blindfold Match. Tommy Dreamer makes the match a Blindfold Match and ups the ante where the loser has to dress like the winner next week.

On Wrestle House, Crazzy Steve beats Johnny Swinger in a Blindfold Match with a schoolkid pin after Swinger runs into the corner. Cousin Jake is the special guest referee. As per pre-match stipulation, Johnny Swinger must dress like Crazzy Steve next week.

Backstage, Eddie Edwards looks for Eric Young.

Backstage, Rhino says that if Reno Scum (Adam Thornstowe and Luster The Legend) wants to jump him from behind and take his money, then he wants a tag team match with Heath as his partner. He tells the fans to make it happen with #Heath4Impact, and even if he is alone, Reno Scum will not be off the hook. Rhino says that either solo or as part of a team, he will Gore Reno Scum.

Eddie Edwards heads to the ring and calls out Eric Young, knowing that he is sending a message, that he has received it and that Eric Young has his attention. He tells Eric Young he has his title shot, and they can have their match right now. Eric Young shows up and calls Eddie "pathetic," saying Eddie is playing checkers while he is playing chess and is five steps ahead of him. He says that everything is happening by his design, and confirms that he attacked Rich Swann on purpose. Eric Young says that the match will happen next week, just like he planned. Eddie says it is fine if he wants to wait until next week, but his ass whipping starts right now. Eric Young and Eddie Edwards brawl, and referees, security and Scott D'Amore have to run out to the ring to restore order. D'Amore gets shoved to the floor, and both men have to be separated.

Backstage, Rohit Raju says the plotting, scheming and manipulation has been worth it and that Chris Bey is crossed off his hit list. He says that after being a victim of office politics, he plans to give an opportunity for all after being called a loser and last resort. He then asks who can beat him.

It's time for Locker Room Talk. Dezmond Xavier and Trey Miguel are the co-hosts for this week, and the two of them almost light up before Madison Rayne tells them not to. Tonight's guests are Ace Austin and Madman Fulton, the latter of whom hogs the couch. Austin admits The Good Brothers may have gotten one over on them, then he catchers The Rascalz laughing. Fulton grabs Trey, and Dez has to stop him. Fulton shoves both of them. Ace Austin decides it is time for him and Fulton to leave, and the two of them leave before things get out of hand. Dez and Trey then extend an invitation to the treehouse to Madison, who declines.

We hear from Sami Callihan, who says that he has been screwed this year and says if it were not for Eddie Edwards, he would be World Champion again. He says that RVD was not at his best because he was in his and Katie Forbes' heads. After saying that they have no idea when he will strike next, Callihan proposes they meet in the ring next week so that he can kick RVD's ass.

We hear from Ethan Carter III, who talks about how he beat Kurt Angle for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship while saying that he cannot let go of that moment. He says that this was the last time he was happy, but he cannot let go, and that he gave everything and sacrificed everything only to get pain, regret and hate instead of the respect that he wanted. He says that he cannot be free as long as the TNA World Heavyweight Championship exists, and says that while Moose is a potentially powerful weapon, he hides behind ring robes and is a false idol while he could be just like him. He calls the title "a weight upon his leg" that is causing him to drown, and that he has to let go and destroy the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in order to be free.

Brian Myers beats Willie Mack with a roll-up after grabbing Willie Mack's tights.

We hear from Heath, who tells the fans they have one week to make #Heath4Impact trend so he can team up with Rhino against Reno Scum.

At Wrestle House, Cousin Jake tells Cody Deaner that "Lawrence D" is "Stefan," comparing Larry D's alter-ego to that of Steve Urkel's. Rosemary then shows up for her date with Larry D, then Alisha has a word with Rosemary, saying she is not into Larry D. After Alisha tells Rosemary that she is only breaking John E. Bravo's heart, Taya Valkyrie wakes up and sees Rosemary only to pass out. Tommy Dreamer tells John E. Bravo to make Rosemary his girl before Larry D does. As Rosemary tells Larry D that this never meant to go as far as it has, John E. Bravo confronts and slaps Larry D as Rosemary tries to explain everything. Larry D comes to his senses, then Tommy Dreamer declares it is match time.

At Wrestle House, Larry D beats John E. Bravo with a big right hand. Acey Romero is the referee. After the match, Rosemary tries to explain things, but John E. Bravo says it is his fault for not being honest with Taya Valkyrie. Taya shows up and John E. says he has feelings for Rosemary and that she has feelings for him, too. Taya blames Rosemary for everything that is going on and she did everything to spite her, and challenges Rosemary to a winner-takes-all match next week.

Next week: Taya Valkyrie vs. Rosemary at Wrestle House! Ace Austin and Madman Fulton vs. The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier and Trey Miguel)! Sami Callihan vs. Rob Van Dam! Eric Young vs. Eddie Edwards for the Impact World Championship!

Deonna Purrazzo retains the Impact Knockouts Championship against Jordynne Grace two falls to one (2-1) in a 30-minute Iron Match. Jordynne scores the first fall after sending Deonna unconscious with a sleeper. Deonna scores the second fall to tie it all up by hitting Jordynne with the Knockouts Championship after Jordynne inadvertently lays out the referee. Deonna then scores the final fall to get the lead in the final seconds of the match by making Jordynne tap out to the Venus De Milo.
