Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for June 28, 2018

Madison Rayne shows up to start tonight's show. She says her return to Impact has been the most exciting one thus far, and this time, her intention was only to provide a voice on commentary for the Knockouts Division. However, things change quickly in the wrestling business, and it was not long before she was back in the ring. Since she has stepped back into the ring, she created moments by defeating Tessa Blanchard and Taya Valkyrie, and at Slammiversary XVI, she has an opportunity to make another one by beating Su Yung to become a six-time Knockouts champion. Last week, Su Yung got into her head, and says that she should be afraid of Su Yung after what she did to Allie and Rosemary. However, she got to thinking, and she told her daughter not to be afraid of monster and that there is nothing under the bed or inside the closet to be afraid of. She also asks what kind of inspiration she would be to run away from a monster, and tells Su Yung that she is not getting the stay-at-home mom at Slammiversary; instead, she is getting the five-time Knockouts champion. Suddenly, Tessa Blanchard shows up, and says Madison has to be kidding her. She says that she has been waiting for the punchline in the back, and tells her that it is no longer 2011 and that she is the best around here and not Madison. Blanchard then brags about her third-generation credentials before Madison tells here there is no joke or punchline and that everyone knows who Blanchard is, and that Blanchard has forgotten that she beat her at Under Pressure. Blanchard says that was a fluke, but Madison says that if Blanchard needs a reminder of who she is, she has no problem giving her one. Suddenly, Su Yung's laughter fills the arena, and when the laughter is over, Blanchard knocks Madison out with a cheap shot.

Rich Swann beats Trevor Lee in his Impact Wrestling TV debut. During the match, it is announced that Madison Rayne vs. Tessa Blanchard will be tonight's main event.

At a PCW Ultra show in Los Angeles, California, Sami Callihan attacks Pentagon Jr. and a referee with a baseball bat in a steel cage before bringing out oVe (Jake and Dave Crist) to future attack him. Callihan then proceeds to unmask Pentagon Jr.

Backstage, Grado is met by Katarina, who announces that next week, she has a match. Grado is surprised, but understands when Katarina all but spells it out for him that she used to be known as Winter and that she is a two-time Knockouts champion.

We hear from Pentagon Jr., who has a challenge for Sami Callihan. He wants to finish it once and for all at Slammiversary XVI in a Mask vs. Hair Match.

We see a video package of Moose's journey into Impact Wrestling. Moose talks about his journey into professional football before becoming a professional wrestler.

At House of Hardcore in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Eddie Edwards attacks Tommy Dreamer with a Kendo stick, busting his forehead open. Edwards strikes Dreamer with the Kendo stick again before sticking a piece of the stick into his forehead and smearing Dreamer's blood onto his face. He then proceeds to choke Dreamer out with the Kendo stick before heading to the back.

After the attack on Tommy Dreamer, Moose confronts Eddie Edwards in the parking lot, and Edwards tells Moose to "leave [him] the fuck alone."

At the Latin-American Xchange clubhouse, King talks with Santino and Ortiz, saying everything is good when Konnan shows up. Konnan threatens to smack King in the face, and King tells Konnan that he kept LAX together while he was in a hospital bed. Konnan says their warfare is predicated on deception, and he is playing King, not the other way around. Santana and Ortiz that everything is good, but want to know what is going on. Konnan tells them King taking over is not a coincidence, and that King's reputation and life are on the line. He also says he has proof and that he will give it to them soon.

Matt Sydal beats Dezmond Xavier. After the match, "The Machine" Brian Cage approaches the ring, but he is attacked from behind by Kongo Kong. Kong gets superkicked by Cage, and Sydal hits Cage in the back of the head with the X Division Championship before he and Jimmy Jacobs bow to each other. Kongo Kong then splashes onto Cage from the top rope.

We hear from Sami Callihan, who accepts Pentagon Jr.'s challenge for Slammiversary XVI, as he is not afraid. He says that Pentagon Jr. may have everyone fooled into thinking he is some sort of Mexican zombie, but he says Pentagon Jr. is a phony and another professional wrestler in a mask. He also says he is willing to put his hair on the line for the satisfaction of unmasking Pentagon Jr. in front of fans, family and friends and making sure he never walks the streets of Mexico City again without holding his head down in shame.

Next week: Fenix vs. Rich Swann! Killer Kross debuts! An interview with Tommy Dreamer! Brian Cage vs. Kongo Kong!

We hear from Austin Aries, who celebrates the fact that there is one undisputed champion in Impact Wrestling with one undisputed belt. He says that when you are on top, you are the hunted, and he is hunted by a Moose. He says Moose's story is heartfelt, but he has no pity for him and says the difference between him and Moose is that he did not fail in his first career choice. He says that Moose's wrestling career will end in failure like his football career. He also says he will tell his story next week, and that his story will end in victory and triumph, not tragedy. Aries then says when he looks in a desperate man's eyes, he knows that desperate men are dangerous. However, he says that Moose is no match for him, and that while Moose can train as hard as he wants, what he really should be doing is praying.

Madison Rayne beats Tessa Blanchard with a crucifix pin. After the match, Blanchard attacks Madison, then takes a steel chair into the ring. She is about to smack Madison Rayne with it, when Su Yung comes out with some undead bridesmaids. Blanchard gets out of the ring as Su Yung and the bridesmaids surround Madison Rayne before pounding on her. Su Yung then grabs Madison Rayne to hit her with the Panic Switch when Allie shows up and fights off the bridesmaids as Su Yung runs away.

Here are the top five moments from tonight's show!
