ROH 16th Anniversary Show - The Results

Deonna Purrazzo guests on commentary for the next match.

Sumie Sakai beats Hana Kimura (the latter of whom is debuting in the United States) to advance in the Women of Honor Championship Tournament. After the match, Hana Kimura extends her hand in respect before pulling it away and slapping Sumie, who is then kicked in the head by Kagetsu.



"The Exotic Goddess" Mandy Leon guests on commentary for the next match.

Tenille Dashwood beats Brandi Rhodes to advance to the semi-finals of the Women of Honor Championship Tournament. During the match, Brandi Rhodes feigns a knee injury and has referee Paul Turner check on her. As he does, Tenille approaches her only to get poked in the eyes. Brandi hits Cross Rhodes, but gets a two-count. Brandi brushes Tenille off when Tenille extends her hand in a sign of respect, then leaves with "The Exotic Goddess" Mandy Leon.



The Dawgs (Rhett Titus and Will Ferrara) show up, and Titus says complains that they have been told that they are not sober enough to compete and that too many beers is not enough. Ferrara announces that they will continue to get drunk and hold a sit-in in the ring until someone fixes this. ROH Enforcer Bully Ray shows up, put both of his hands on their shoulders. Rhett tries to kick Bully Ray in the face only to inadvertently kick Ferrara, and Bully Ray smacks Rhett Titus in the back with a steel chair before telling them to get out.

ROH Enforcer Bully Ray welcomes everyone to the show. He tells the fans to show why Ring of Honor is "the best friggin' pro wrestling on the planet today," and that the guys in the locker room will do the same. He promises that from beginning to end, the fans will be grabbed by the throat, have them ripped out and given their money's worth.

Hiromu Takahashi beats Flip Gordon.

"The Villain" Marty Scurll beats Punishment Martinez. During the match, Scurll reaches for a bag of powder underneath the ring only to be confronted by referee Paul Stone. Security moves into place when Scurll threatens to punch Stone in the face, and Martinez hits everyone with a dive over the ring post before knocking out a few members of security. Shortly afterwards, Martinez pulls a table out from underneath the ring and places Scurll on it after knocking him out at ringside. He dives over the top rope onto the turnbuckle, but Scurll moves out of the way and Martinez comes up empty. The match when Scurll pulls the bag out only to reveal that the bag is empty before kicking Martinez in the crotch to win after referee Paul Turner nearly gets hit by a roundhouse kick meant for Scurll.

Kenny King retains the ROH World Television Championship against "The Last Real Man" Silas Young. During the match, referee Todd Sinclair is inadvertently hit by Kenny King's feet as Silas Young hits Misery, and this costs him the victory. Silas argues with the referee, and Kenny nearly wins it on a schoolboy pin. Silas goes for one of his own, but Kenny grabs the ropes and Silas argues with Sinclair again. Silas goes for a springboard when Kenny tosses him onto the apron, and Kenny catches him to hit Royal Flush for the win. After the match, Austin Aries shows up with all of his indies titles as well as the Impact World Championship, and he congratulates Kenny on his victory before telling the fans that he has been travelling the world "collecting belts," and it happens that while he has collected titles in Ring of Honor, he has never won the ROH World Television Championship, and Kenny King has something on his shoulder that he wants and "the belt collector is never done collecting belts." Kenny dares Austin Aries to come get the title, and Aries lays all of his titles down to dare him to come up the ramp.

SoCal Uncensored ("Almighty" Christopher Daniels, "The Heavy Metal Rebel" Frankie Kazarian, Scorpio Sky) beat Bullet Club (Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, "Hangman" Adam Page) in a Las Vegas Street Fight to become the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions! During the match, Shane Taylor shows up and drags referee Paul Turner out of the ring before attacking Bullet Club. Matt Jackson tries to slam Taylor, but his back gives out, and Adam Page has to save him with a Kendo stick to Taylor's back before hitting a double team spike piledriver out of the Rite of Passage with Nick Jackson. Afterwards, Daniels zip ties Page to the ring post at ringside and holds Nick Jackson before Kazarian and Scorpio Sky put Matt in a double-team Boston Crab to force Matt to submit and win the titles. After the match, Vinny Marseglia and TK O'Ryan show up and attack the Jacksons, then ROH Enforcer Bully Ray shows up and chases them out of the ring.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes beats Matt Taven. During the match, Barry the Drug-Free Bear hands Cody a chair, but referee Paul Stone keeps it away from Cody and sends it back to ringside. As this goes on, Taven hits Cody in the back with his cane, but only gets a two-count. A little later on, Cody inadvertently takes out Paul Turner with a top rope cross body meant for Taven, then both Taven and Cody lay each other out with a big boot simultaneously. Vinny Marseglia and TK O'Ryan show up again, and pick Cody up so that Taven can kick Cody in the crotch. When Marseglia and O'Ryan leave, ROH Enforcer Bully Ray chases them back out through the crowd and Cody pulls a steel cup out of his tights, revealing that the kick to the crotch had no effect. Cody then hits a shocked Taven with a Cross Rhodes to get the win and take his Ring of Honor ring back. After the match, Barry the Drug-Free Bear pushes Cody to the mat before taking the mask off to reveal Keeny Omega underneath. Kenny then hits Cody with a V-Trigger, then Brandi confronts Kenny and slaps him before kissing him on the lips.

The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) beat The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) to become ROH World Tag Team Champions for an unprecedented ninth time.

Dalton Castle retains the ROH World Championship against Jay Lethal following a Bang-a-rang countered into a victory roll countered back into a Bang-a-rang. During the match, Lethal and Castle clear out the timekeeper's table, and when both men return to the ring, Lethal drop kicks one of Castle's boys into ring announcer Bobby Cruise, who catches him. Lethal then goes for a tope suicida to Castle, who dodges it and leads Castle into accidentally taking out Bobby Cruise. Commentator Ian Ricobonni has to take over Cruiser's duties at the end of the match. After the match, both men shake hands in a sign of respect. After Lethal leaves, "The Villain" Marty Scurll shows up.

In a post-show segment that aired after the show on social media, Dalton Castle and "The Villain" Marty Scurll are in the ring. Scurll congratulates Castle on his victory, and says he is still the champion for now. Scurll says he came into the company back in November of 2016, and he has had zero shots at the ROH World Championship. He knows that Castle has worked very hard to get to this point and that this is Castle's dream, but it is his dream as well, and he tells him to enjoy every day he has with the World title as his reign is about to come to an end. He says that it is time he got his shot at the World title, and the crowd agrees. Suddenly, ROH Enforcer Bully Ray shows up and congrats both Scurll and Castle on their victories tonight, telling Castle he has proven that he is one of the most worthy ROH World Champions to ever step foot in an ROH ring. He agrees that Scurll has been in ROH for a while and worked his way up the ranks, and tells him that he has earned his World title shot. Bully Ray says that it is only fair to give the fans what they want to see, and that at at Supercard of Honor, Castle will defend the ROH World Championship against Scurll. Castle says Scurll may have had zero shots at the World title until then, but he has defeated all the challengers, and tells him it is on at Supercard of Honor. Scurll leaves, then Bully Ray announces that Kenny Omega will be return for tomorrow's show and TV tapings. Bully Ray then thanks the crowd for tonight on behalf of the ROH locker room. Ian Ricobonni then interviews Castle, who says that he has proved he is as good as he says he is before telling Scurll that he has his work cut out for him.
