Crossroads - Impact Wrestling recap for March 8, 2018

We see footage of Austin Aries and Johnny Impact (the latter surrounded by five men carrying American flags) separately entering the arena from earlier today.

The Latin-American Xchange (Santana and Ortiz) retain the Impact Tag Team Championships against - and take their bandannas back from - The Cult of Lee (Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley) after Konnan trips Trevor Lee off the apron so that Santana and Ortiz can hit the Street Sweeper. During the match, it is announced that Eddie Edwards will not be competing tonight due to a fractured nose and a broken orbital bone suffered at the hands of Sami Callihan last week, and that Lashley will be facing oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan) solo in a 3-on-1 handicap match.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Lashley. Last week, he and Eddie Edwards shut oVe up, and that he does not need a partner to take oVe on all at once. Even if he has to take on the whole state of Ohio, he will get it done on his own.

The Global Wrestling Network Flashback Moment of the Week is Christian Cage vs. Monty Brown at Destination X 2006.

We see footage from earlier today of Alberto El Patron entering the arena even though he is not scheduled to be here.

Backstage, "Reborn" Matt Sydal tells the fans to keep both eyes on him so he can open their third eyes when he retains the Impact Grand Championship and win the X Division Championship to bring both titles together as one "because we are all one."

"Reborn" Matt Sydal beats Taiji Ishimori in a Title Vs. Title Match to retain the Impact Grand Championship and win the Impact X-Division Championship, making Sydal a double champion.

In footage from early today, Allie says a year ago or a few months ago, she would not be ready to win the Impact Knockous Championship, but tonight, she is, and when she wins, she will dedicate the title victory to her mentor Gail Kim.

Allie beats Laurel Van Ness after ducking a shot to the face with the Impact Knockouts Championship to become the Impact Knockouts Champion!

Backstage, Gail Kim hugs and congratulates Allie after her Knockouts Championship victory.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Austin Aries. Aries says he has the weight of the world on his shoulders, and says he has had not only a great month in Impact, but around the world. Tonight, he faces Johnny Impact for the first time easy, and while his good lucks and his talent make it look easy, he will not get a night off with him and he will not let up. Aries tells Johnny he will have to be tough, mean and nasty to beat him for the Impact World Championship, which he plans to take to heights it has never been, and he will have to show a side of him that he has never shown in his life.

Lashley beats oVe (Jake Crist and Dave Crist). During the match, "The Machine" Brian Cage suddenly shows up and tags himself in, making himself Lashley's tag team partner and decimating oVe single-handedly. Sami Callihan tries to hit Cage in the back with a baseball bat, but Lashley hits him with a Spear before he can hit him. After the match, Lashley extends his hand in a sign of respect, but Cage walks away.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Johnny Impact. Johnny says he has heard about how great Aries is, and tonight is the first time they will meet head-to-head. He plans to find out just how great he is, and while he has more names and looks better than Aries, he does not call himself "the greatest man that ever lived" or show up with four titles from four different wrestling companies. He says that insecurity may cost Aries, but he is not worried, as he is here to win the Impact World Championship and tonight will be his night.

Next week: The Feast Or Fired Match Returns!

Austin Aries retains the Impact World Championship against Johnny Impact. Both men shake hands after the match, then Alberto El Patron shows up and claps from the stage before teasing getting into the ring with Austin Aries.

Here are the top five moments from tonight's show!
