Generation NXT - NXT recap for June 29, 2016

Alexa Bliss beats Carmella.

We hear exclusive comments from "The King of Strong Side" Shinsuke Nakamura. He's known Finn Balor for ten years and has really gotten to know him, and says he has to fight him before he can become champion as he wants to face the best in NXT before that happens. He hopes to give something sensational to NXT.

Cathy Kelley interviews Bayley. Bayley is happy to be back in the ring and can't wait for her WWE Women's Championship rematch against Asuka. Alexa Bliss shows up and tells Bayley she shouldn't even have a rematch, as she is the one who earned the title shot. She brags about beating Carmella, and tells Bayley she'll have to go through her before she can go through Asuka, and that she'll take even more pleasure in beating Bayley.

Andrade "Cien" Almas beats Noah Kekoa - now known as Noah Potjes.

Austin Aries says he attacked No Way Jose because he's done nothing with his career, and that people would rather cheer No Way Jose than be privileged to see him in the ring. He doesn't care if the fans like him or not, as he will prove why he is as good as he is.

We hear exclusive comments from Finn Balor. He says "The King of Strong Side" Shinsuke Nakamura is a real friend, and thought he would never see him again when he went to NXT. So when he heard that Nakamura was heading to NXT, he was overjoyed and wanted to return the favor by helping him get acclimated to NXT...and now, here they are. Finn Balor says a lot has changed since he and Nakamura were in the same locker room, and he cannot wait for this match.

Next week on NXT: Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss!

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa beat The Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley). After the match, Gargano mentions his and Ciampa's recent win against The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder), and says they should have a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships. Suddenly, American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable) show up, and Gable says that Gargano and Ciampa aren't next in line for anything, and that they will win the NXT tag team titles and that Gargano and Ciampa will be facing them when the time comes. Jordan says that he and Gable will get their revenge against The Authors of Pain in time, but for now, they've got unfinished business. The Revival show up, and say that they call the shots and that neither team in the ring deserve a title shot. Dawson says that The Revival are in charge and that they dictate the terms. NXT General Manager William Regal shows up, tells Gargano and Ciampa that they will get a title shot down the line, and makes the rematch for the tag team titles between American Alpha and The Revival official for next week...and it will be a two-out-of-three falls match. After Regal leaves, American Alpha shakes hands with Gargano and Ciampa, and as the latter team leaves, American Alpha is attacked from behind by The Authors of Pain. Gargano and Ciampa try to help, but they fare no better than American Alpha. Paul Ellering then shows up to survey the carnage, and The Authors of Pain walk up the entrance ramp and stand at the top with Ellering to close out the show.
