Vince's Got A Shotgun - Shotgun Saturday Night recap for January 11, 1997

The Honky Tonk Man says that when he hits New York City, he hangs out with the stars at the St. Regis Hotel, where he sees some of the best haircuts in the world as he waits to get his shoes shined.

Sable and "Wildman" Marc Mero come out of a limo in Times Square to enter the All-Star Cafe, the ultimate sports-themed restaurant in New York City.

Todd Pettengill reports that The Sisters of Love (Sister Angelica and Mother Smucker) have been arrested by undercover cops for solicitation in front of the Disney Store in Times Square, and have been incarcerated. We learn that they have been incarcerated as we see footage from earlier today where The Sisters of Love are arrested.

"Diesel" beats "Wildman" Marc Mero. Early in the match, Sable smashes a cake on a dining table into "Diesel's" face early in the match when he approaches her. During the match, Todd Pettengill tries to interview Sable about the whole thing, and Sable says she did not like what "Diesel" was doing and that he takes the cake. Some time after that, "Razor Ramon" shows up and attacks Mero, and Rocky Maivia shows up and chases "Razor" to the back. Officials have to keep Rocky from chasing "Razor" further. After the break, Todd Pettengill interviews The Honky Tonk Man as the match continues. Honky says he has a tune for her later on. Near the end of the match, The Honky Tonk Man shows up at ringside and harasses Sable, and Marc Mero comes after Honky only to be attacked from behind by "Diesel." This allows "Diesel" to hit the Jackknife Power Bomb for the win. After the match, an angry Mero blames Sable for the loss and leaves her alone in the ring. The Honky Tonk Man shows up again and gets in the ring with Sable, but Rocky Maivia returns and gets in there, too. He stares a hole through Honky, causing him to leave the ring. Mero shows up and confronts Rocky for helping Sable to the ring, and this starts a brouhaha between Rocky and Mero that referees have to break up. Mero runs out of the ring and to the back along with Sable.

We see the police mugshot of The Sister of Love (Sister Angelica and Mother Smucker), and it is announced that they will not be here tonight.

The WWF is coming soon to Las Vegas, Nevada; El Paso, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Beaumont, Texas; Lafayette, Louisiana; Dallas, TX; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Hershey, Pennsylvania and New York City, New York!

Faarooq beats Savio Vega. During the match, Todd Pettengill interviews a fan named William from Westchester, New York. He doesn't know who will be in Sunny's home sex video, saying it could be The Six Million Dollar Man before saying he wishes it was him.

We see Sunny's home sex video. She is seen lying on her bed in her pajamas with a Tickle Me Elmo doll as she reveals that the man in her life is a man in an Elmo suit with a G-string on, whom she calls Tickle Me Elmo's bigger, big, strong, bad older brother "Fondle Me Elmo." Sunny takes Fondle Me Elmo's G-string off, then turns the lights off and proceeds to have sex with Elmo. Afterwards, Elmo apologizes for breaking Sunny's trapeze, and Sunny responds that The Energizer Bunny has nothing on him. Fondle Me Elmo then realizes he cannot find his pants or his manhood.

Todd Pettengill is seen with The Honky Tonk Man.

Todd Pettengill introduces The Honky Tonk Man, and Todd Pettengill sings about Honky finding a protege. Honky then sings about himself, then a fan joins in.

Rocky Maivia beats "Razor Ramon." During the match, The Honky Tonk Man attacks Rocky Maivia outside of the ring as the referee is dealing with "Razor," but Rocky is still able to hit the shoulder breaker for the win.

Outside in Times Square, Todd Pettengill gives a tour of a homeless person's box home, and when he looks inside, he finds none other than Nikolai Volkoff.

Before the next match, it is announced that Goldust is pregnant according to Vanity Fair, and that he will give birth to the baby at nearby Lenox Hill Hospital next week on Shotgun Saturday Night. (The segment fails to make it to air, however.)

Todd Pettengill advertises that next week, Shotgun Saturday Night will take place at Denim & Diamonds in San Antonio, Texas.

Time runs out before Doug Furnas and Philip LaFon vs. The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) comes to an end. The Headbangers take the place of The Sisters of Love (Sister Angelica and Mother Smucker), who were originally scheduled to be in this match. (Ironically, both the Sisters of Love and Headbangers gimmicks are portrayed by the same men. Not surprisingly, The Headbangers prove to be the more enduring gimmick.)
