Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 30, 1994

Tatanka and Crush fight to a double count-out, with neither man advancing into the King of the Ring tournament. Both men continue to fight each other after the match, and officials have to run in to separate them. It is announced that WWF President Jack Tunney will have to rule on whoever will advance into the tournament.

We meet "Rowdy" Roddy Piper at home in Oregon. He's not here to trash talk with "The King' Jerry Lawler and is here to honestly help the kids in Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. He says he is no king, and if he had the chance, he wouldn't want to be one.

"The Rocket" Owen Hart doesn't care about WWF President Jack Tunney's decision about whether to advance Crush or Tatanka into the King of the Ring tournament, and wants a bye into the second round.

The 1-2-3 Kid beats George South.

It's time for The King's Court. Tonight's guest is Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, and "The King" Jerry Lawler makes fun of his "Jurassic Park parents" before bringing him out. Lawler makes fun of what he did to Bret at last year's King of the Ring, and before it can get physical, Lawler announces he has other guests for this year's: Diesel and Shawn Michaels. Diesel and Shawn show up, and Lawler wants to know if Bret's lost his mind. Bret tells Diesel has a tremendous amount of respect for him, but at King of the Ring, Diesel will find out why he's the best there was, the best there is and the best there ever will be. Diesel tells Bret he's getting the VIP treatment: Very Intense Pain. Shawn interrupts Bret to hit him with a cheap shot, Diesel hits the Jackknife Power Bomb on Bret, Shawn punches Bret in the face, and Diesel, Shawn and Lawler all attack Bret Hart afterward. Officials try to stop this, but Diesel intimidates them all, making it harder for officials to do their job. Diesel shakes hands with Lawler, and Diesel then lifts both the Intercontinental and WWF Championships into the air.

The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) beat Austin Steele and Reno Riggins.

WWF President Jack Tunney has ordered another match between Tatanka and Crush next week on Raw. It will be a lumberjack, there must be a winner, and the winner will advance into the King of the Ring tournament. Nikolai Volkoff, Bam Bam Bigelow, The Bushwhackers (Butch and Luke), Irwin R. Schyster, Razor Ramon, Mabel, Duke "The Dumpster" and Yokozuna are revealed to be some of the lumberjacks confirmed for this match.

"The Rocket" Owen Hart's opponent is none other than Doink.

"The Rocket" Owen Hart beats Doink to qualify for the King of the Ring Tournament after Doink is distracted by "Double J" Jeff Jarrett trying to clown-nap Dink.

The 1-2-3 Kid takes on Adam Bomb on Superstars and Tatanka takes on "Gigolo" Jimmy Del Ray on next week's Raw. Both matches will be qualifying matches for the King of the Ring Tournament.

Diesel is more than happy that Bret "Hit Man" Hart accepted his challenge, but noticed there is a bit of apprehension in his voice. He can't wait to get his hands on the WWF Championship.

The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu) will defend the WWF Tag Team Championships against Yokozuna and Crush at King of the Ring.

We see "Rowdy" Roddy Piper train on the punching bag at a local community gym. Piper says he needs the help of the fans, as the donations they're pouring in to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children goes directly to the hospital. He isn't taking "The King" Jerry Lawler's comments about him lightly, and goes so far as to consider the "Jurassic Park" comment a compliment due to that movie being the biggest one of all time.

Duke "The Dumpster" Droese beats Barry Horowitz in his Raw debut.

Trevor Rabin, Rhonda Shear, Bobby Kelton, Johnathan Taylor Thomas guest on the WrestleMania Revenge Tour...and the fans are having fun!

Irwin R. Schyster beats Gary Sabaugh.

It's time for The King's Court. "The King" Jerry Lawler tells "Rowdy" Roddy Piper he'll make him join the children at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children, then introduces Lex Luger. Lex Luger tells Crush that his arm in a sling is only the beginning of what he's going to do to him after costing him a slot in the King of the Ring tournament, and when Lawler asks Luger if he'd say that to his face, Luger says he'd be happy to. Crush shows up as if on cue, and says Luger doesn't have to guts to face him man-to-man and attacked him from behind because of that. When Lawler asks Luger if he'd stoop low enough to attack an invalid, Luger thinks about it, then clotheslines Crush out of the ring. Crush's sling comes off, and his shoulder injury is revealed to be a fake. Officials have to keep Crush from getting back in the ring, and Lex Luger almost throws Lawer's golden bench out of the ring and right at Crush.

"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase guests on commentary for the next match. During the match, it is revealed that The Undertaker has been spotted in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Nikolai Volkoff beats Matt Hardy by submission.

"The King" Jerry Lawler talks trash about "Rowdy" Roddy Piper before The King's Court.

It's time for The King's Court. His guests are "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and an unhappy (and penniless) Nikolai Volkoff. DiBiase says that Volkoff works for him now, and it is very obvious that Volkoff hates his gut and that he is only with him for the money. DiBiase also forces a new uniform on him: black and gold trunks with "Property of The Million Dollar Man" on the back. He is also forced to remove his hat and his jacket with the United States and Soviet Union flags on the back, and also wear a black and gold tuxedo shirt with "Property of The Million Dollar Man" on the back, all for the purpose of humiliating Volkoff.

"The Rocket" Owen Hart beats Tony Roy with the Sharpshooter. During the match, the first ever Hall of Fame induction ceremony is announced for June 9th at the Omni Inner Harbor International Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland. Arnold Skaaland, Bobo Brazil, "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers, Chief Jay Strongbow, "Classy" Freddie Blassie, Gorilla Monsoon, and James Dudley will all be nominated. Meanwhile, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is returning to the WWF at King of the Ring, when he takes on "The King" Jerry Lawler. Piper makes it clear on the set of Tough But Deadly that he's sick of Lawler's crap, and he's taking him on one more time even though he has nothing to prove. He also says that if he beats Lawler, his winnings will go to a hospital for sick children in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, as Lawler called some sick children in said hospital "brats."

Crush beats Raymond Roy.

Duke "The Dumpster" Droese says he's coming to the World Wrestling Federation soon.

Doink beats Mike Terrace. During the match, Vince McMahon interviews "Double J" Jeff Jarrett via telephone, and Jarrett mocks Doink prior to their match.
We hear from Earthquake, who talks about his brief sumo career and his transition to the WWF. He says he has a lot to prove in the WWF, which is why he has returned.

It's time for The King's Court. After mocking "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's recent comments about him, he wishes Piper would be a guest on his segment so he can say them to his face. He then introduces this week's guests: Yokozuna, Mr. Fuji and Jim Cornette. Lawler and Cornette mock Earthquake's sumo career, and Cornette says that Earthquake only talks about what he can do when Yokozuna proves it in the ring on a regular match. Cornette accepts the challenge, and makes it a little more interesting: make the match a sumo match. Lawler doesn't think Earthquake will go for it, but loves the idea. Cornette asks Lawler to see if Earthquake will accept the challenge, as Lawler is the only one who can get the scoop.

The Undertaker has been seen again, this time by a lawn care company.

Mabel beats Mike Bell. During the match, Randy Savage reads a note left to him saying that Earthquake has accepted Jim Cornette's sumo match challenge against Yokozuna.

"The King" Jerry Lawler interviews Earthquake backstage. Lawler asks Earthquake if he's nuts, and Earthquake responds by scaring the crap out of Lawler and saying he'll kick Yokozuna's butt. Lawler keeps testing Earthquake, which causes Earthquake to scare the crap out of Lawler again.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 2, 1994

The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu) beat The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) to win the WWF Tag Team Championships with both "Captain" Lou Albano and Afa in tow. During the match, The Quebecers and Johnny Polo flee, but are forced to hastily return when it is announced that if they do not return to the ring, they will lose the match as well as the tag team titles.

This week on Superstars: Scott Steiner and Irwin R. Schyster compete for a spot in the King of the Ring tournament. Also, Razor Ramon and Kwang square off for another spot in the tournament next week on Raw. Baltimore Orioles legend Art Donovan will also be on hand as a special guest analyst.

Tatanka beats Derek Domino. During the match, Vince McMahon interviews Irwin R. Schyster via telephone, who insists that Tatanka owed a gift tax on his headdress and did not pay it. He cannot wait to take Tatanka down for good. After the match, Tatanka and Chief Jay Strongbow shake hands.

It's time for The King's Court. Lawler mocks the career of and calls a "has-been." He also mocks Razor Ramon, saying he is also a "has-been" for becoming the ex-Intercontinental Champion. He then introduces this week's guest and the new WWF Intercontinental Champion, Diesel, fresh off his championship win on Superstars the previous week. Lawler asks if he can call him "Cool Daddy," but Diesel tells Lawler he can call him "Big Daddy Cool" if he likes. Lawler notices that Shawn Michaels is absent from tonight's proceedings, due to Shawn Michaels sacrificing himself to help Diesel win the belt. Diesel says that Michaels will be back, and he is glad to have someone who is willing to sacrifice himself for him before telling the crowd they haven't seen a dynamic duo like this since Batman and Robin. As for Razor Ramon, he gives credit where it's due, but says he wasn't quite bad enough last week on Superstars. Lawler then asks Diesel what's next for him, and Diesel says that while the Intercontinental Championship is nice, the WWF Championship looks a little better, and says he'll go for that. Lawler wishes Diesel luck on getting a match with Bret "Hitman" Hart, calling Hart "a gutless wonder." Diesel responds by saying that Hart can run, but he can't hide, and says that the WWF Championship will soon be around his waist.

The Undertaker was recently sighted near an auto shop, near an elementary school, around a burning house, and at a jeweler.

Yokozuna beats Scott Taylor and Mike Davis in a 2-on-1 handicap match. After the match, Yokozuna hits Scott Taylor with two more Banzai Drops before Earthquake shows up, staring Yokozuna down until Yokozuna leaves the ring.
Earthquake tells Vince McMahon and "Macho Man" Randy Savage that he is sick and tired of hearing about Yokozuna and being asked when he's going to take him on...so he challenges him to a one-on-one match to determine who is the biggest and best man in the World Wrestling Federation.
