The All-American Boys - All-American Wrestling Recap for January 10, 1993

"Mean" Gene Okerlund and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan are in New York City, New York the day before the premiere edition of Monday Night Raw. Okerlund and Heenan argue about how they got there, with Okerlund saying that his driver could have gotten them over here quickly while Heenan says that while his driver doesn't know a word of English, he really knows his way around and is super-cheap. Okerlund makes note of the cheapness of Heenan's driver. Heenan waves at the Statue of Liberty, then ducks a pigeon. Okerlund then says he can't wait to get to the Manhattan Center, where Raw will take place tomorrow night. Heenan says that while he's not on the show and is not involved in any way, he holds no hard feeling towards Okerlund and will help get him there for cheap. Okerlund has the feeling he is not in the most capable of hands, then kicks off the opening match.

The Undertaker beats Scott Zappa. After the match, Scott Zappa is placed in a bodybag.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan is in the back of a limousine driven by a man named Zappo. They then plug WWF Mania, and Heenan talks about how Razor Ramon sent a message to Bret "Hit Man" Hart that he will take the WWF Championship from him at Royal Rumble by attacking "The Rocket" Owen Hart on the premiere episode. Okerlund then mentions that he and Heenan have passed the Empire State Building three times, implying that their driver is lost.

Kamala beats Todd Becker. Kim Chee and Harvey Wippleman abuse Kamala after the match, then Reverend Slick shows up from out and confronts Kim Chee and Wippleman over their treatment of Kamala. Kim Chee punches Slick out, then Kamala finally has enough and chops Kim Chee out of the ring before chasing Wippleman to the back.

We look back on Razor Ramon's attack on "The Rocket" Owen Hart during an interview on WWF Mania. Razor Ramon says that Bret "Hit Man" Hart is upset that he attacked his brother Owen, and that he made it personal. Razor then tells Bret that at Royal Rumble, he's next. We then hear from Bret, who tells Razor Ramon that he'll have to pound out some bully for beating up one of his little brothers, and that when he steps in the ring with him at Royal Rumble, he'll not only prove that he's a good fighter, but that he'll pound the daylights out of him.

The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu) beat two unnamed opponents, then take a bite out of the guy they pinned. Before the match, Afa, Samu and Fatu are seen eating a raw meat sandwich, obviously wordplay referring to tomorrow night's premiere of Monday Night Raw.

It is announced that the WWF will be the first sports-entertainment group to aid the food crisis in Somalia, and will donate a minimum of $100,000 to the Somalia Relief Fund. Proceeds from the January 29th show in Madison Square Garden will be donated to the American Red Cross to send medicine, food and relief supplies for the starving in Somalia. Sean Mooney acts that fans send donations to the Somalia Relief Fund at P.O. Box 9131, Church Street Station, New York, NY, 10256, then advertises Royal Rumble. We then hear from "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, who says that he can't think of a better way to start the year off than by winning the Royal Rumble match. He says that wherever you find money, you will find him, and he and Irwin R. Schyster will definitely be at Royal Rumble. In case they're the last two men in the Rumble, it's business as usual, but all the money goes to Money Inc. (DiBiase, Schyster), and they can't lose. We also hear from "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who says he hears people talking about him. He says there are no friends in the Royal Rumble match, and says he's going to win it regardless of what happens.

It is a chilly evening in New York City, and "Mean" Gene Okerlund and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan are in the middle of Times Square - nowhere near the Manhattan Center - because Zappo, their limo driver, dumped them there because he ran out of gas. Heenan says he'll be back, and at this point Okerlund sees no use in arguing with Heenan. Heenan then talks about the secret he has in Narcissus at Royal Rumble before having contention with some of the people out on the street, then Okerlund leads us to the next match, already in progress.

Marty Jannetty beats Repo Man with a crucifix pin.

We see a repeat of Rene Rougeau's interview with the clown that has been seen in the crowd for the past few weeks. We see that the clown's arm is in a sling, and says his name is Doink. He laughs when reminded of how he tripped Big Boss Man on his way to the ring, put a mop in Tatanka's eye, threw water on Marty Jannetty (saying he needed a bath anyway), and reminds Rougeau of the banana's beneath Bob Backlund's feet. Rougeau says Doink is the only person laughing here, and says that clowns are supposed to be funny. Doink says he enjoys entertaining the kids, then looking at their smiles and wanting to take those smiles away as he goes from happy-go-lucky to dark and serious. Rougeau reminds him that Crush gave him a severe warning last week on Superstars, and tells him that it's one thing to pull pranks on WWF Superstars but something completely different when the kids are involved. Doink says he's just having a good time, but Rougeau says the jokes are at someone's else expense. Doink doesn't care whose expense the jokes are, then squirts Rougeau with the flower on his jacket before rolling on the floor laughing.

It is announced that Shawn Michaels will defend the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Marty Jannetty at Royal Rumble, and that Sensational Sherri will be at ringside, even though it is unknown whose corner she will be in. We then hear from Shawn, who says nobody has been more undeserving of an Intercontinental title shot than Jannetty, but being "Mr. Cool," he's decided to give him one anyway. Shawn then states that Sherri will be in his corner, even though he hasn't had a chance to talk to her. We then hear from Jannetty, who says that January 24th will be "Marty Jannetty Day" as he will take the Intercontinental title and end Shawn's career, telling Shawn that he doesn't know Sherri as much as he thinks he does, implying that Sherri might be in his corner.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Tatanka, Irwin R. Schyster, Bob Backlund, Lawler, Mr. Perfect, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Crush, "The Model" Rick Martel, Yokozuna, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Papa Shango, Earthquake, Berserker, Undertaker, Carlos Colon, and the recently announced Great Tenryu, "El Matador" Tito Santana, Typhoon, Samu, Fatu, and "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan will all be in the Royal Rumble match. We also hear from some of the competitors in the Royal Rumble match. Mr. Perfect says his smile doesn't look out of place, as the Royal Rumble match is here and he doesn't have a problem with anything because he's perfect. No matter who he faces, they're not perfect. Mr. Fuji speaks for Yokozuna, who tells everyone to look at Yokozuna, saying no one can move him or lift him off his feet. At 505 pounds, Yokozuna will become the Royal Rumble winner. Duggan says the Royal Rumble is his kind of match, as you nail anything that moves and there are no friends or foe. Even though he cannot promise he will win the match, he will give it 110%.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat Butch Banks and Rock Werner in a repeat match from Superstars. During the match, we hear pre-recorded comments from the Steiners. Scott says they don't know if WWF is ready for them, but at Royal Rumble, The Beverly Brothers (Beau and Blake Beverly) will know. Rick says that they've made their New Year's resolutions, and The Beverly Brothers aren't going to like them.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan are back in the limo and inside a tunnel. Heenan says Zappo knows where he's going, but Okerlund has the feeling that Heenan doesn't want him to make it to Monday Night Raw as he is jealous that he won't be there. Heenan insists he still holds no ill will, then Okerlund plugs Royal Rumble and the Madison Square Garden show benefiting Somalia Relief fund.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan finally make it to the Manhattan Center. Tomorrow night on Raw, The Undertaker will face Damien Demento, and Yokozuna will face Koko B. Ware. Heenan, irritated that he is not part of the show, wants nothing to do with the show, and the limo leaves with Heenan's belongings to close out the show as Okerlund heads into the Manhattan Center in preparation for tomorrow night.
