Prime Time Players - Prime Time Wrestling recap for January 4, 1993

Tonight's episode is a special one-hour edition of Prime Time Wrestling, which celebrates some of the best moments of the show's history. Gorilla Monsoon accuses Bobby "The Brain" Heenan of being the direct cause of the show's demise, and that it makes him glad that Vince McMahon has decided that Heenan will not be involved in the show that is taking Prime Time's place: Monday Night Raw. Heenan says he wants to be a part of it as he is "Mr. Television," and that they gave him a chance with The Bobby Heenan Show, which only lasted four episodes. We then see a moment from that show's brief history, where a belly dancer stands on Jamison Winger's back and dances on him.

The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu) beat Virgil and "El Matador" Tito Santana.

Vince McMahon, Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan talk about Royal Rumble, where the winner gets a shot at the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 9. Monsoon says that Heenan puts his money on Razor Ramon winning the WWF Championship in his match against Bret "Hit Man" Hart. Vince calls Heenan out on "not being fair to Flair." We then look back at the time that Bobby Heenan got blown up with dynamite on the set of a Western movie.

"Terrific" Terry Taylor beats Dale Wolfe.

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan tells Mr. Perfect that he has heard him asking questions of the other wrestlers about Narcissus, and says that comparing Mr. Perfect to Narcissus would be like comparing ice cream to horse manure. He says horse manure has its place in this world, even perfect horse manure, but Narcissus is so beyond perfect that he could very well be from another galaxy. He says that when he unleashes Narcissus at Royal Rumble, even Perfect will be convinced that Narcissus is from another world.

Bret "Hit Man" Hart tells Razor Ramon that they have made their match for the WWF Championship personal after attacking his brother "The Rocket" Owen Hart. Hart says that if Razor wanted his attention, he's got it, and promises Razor that the Hart family will get its revenge.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage, The Undertaker, "The Million Dollar Man" DiBiase, Irwin R. Schyster, Mr. Perfect, Bob Backlund, The Beserker, Yokozuna, Tatanka, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The King" Jerry Lawler, Earthquake, Carlos Colon, Crush, Papa Shango, and Rick "The Model" Martel are confirmed for the Royal Rumble match.

Money Inc. ("The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Irwin R. Schyster) and Jimmy Hart are excited that they are in the Royal Rumble match, as "twenty-eight different tag teams are in the ring at the same time, excluding themselves." DiBiase says that they both think they're the best, and if it's just the two of them in the ring, then may the best man win. Either way, the money and the gold will all be in Money Inc.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair says he won it last year to become the WWF Champion, and this year, he plans to do it again as he comes for Mr. Perfect.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) tell The Beverly Brothers (Blake and Beau Beverly) that they have the privilege of facing them at their very first Royal Rumble, and that when they're done, the pleasure will be all theirs. They won't take The Beverly Brothers lightly, and they'll be the only ones celebrating when the match is over.

Vince McMahon, Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan talk about Royal Rumble elimination strategies, ponder how Yokozuna will be eliminated, and look back at the time when Heenan commandeered a yacht and tried to convince Monsoon that he owned it.

Shawn Michaels beats Skinner.

Tickets are now available for next week's Monday Night Raw.

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan says he'll think of something to be at next week's Monday Night Raw, and Vince McMaon and Gorilla Monsoon would like to see how he does, especially when he "leaves his brand on just about everything he has participated him" and has a certain smell to him. Heenan says that smell is "like fine wine." Monsoon brings up the time that Heenan made wine with Andre the Giant, saying that he even messed that up, and Heenan doesn't want the footage shown. Unfortunately for Heenan, that footage is shown.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat Red Tyler and W.T. Jones in a replay from Wrestling Challenge.

Vince McMahon thanks the fans' support for Prime Time Wrestling through the years before annoucing the premiere of Monday Night Raw. Heenan says he'll be there at Raw somehow, then Jamison Winger - Heenan's assistant from The Bobby Heenan Show - shows up from out of nowhere and awards him with an ear of corn from out of his jacket as a "Corny Award" for being so corny, and tells him he has some macaroni as well, in case he wants that. The thought of where the corn and macaroni has been makes Heenan want to throw up, and he immediately runs off the set as Vince bids the viewers farewell one last time.
