Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for February 14, 2024

Jon Moxley beats Dax Harwood with the rear naked choke with less than two minutes left in their match. After the match, Moxley refuses to relinquish the hold, and Cash Wheeler slides into the ring to attack Moxley. Claudio Castagnoli rushes in and hits Wheeler with the Neutralizer. After Moxley and Claudio celebrate, Moxley and Claudio put Harwood and Wheeler in submission holds, respectively. Claudio lets go of his crossface quickly, but Moxley makes sure Harwood is put to sleep before letting go.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita, Don Callis and Powerhouse Hobbs. Don Callis says they are victims of their own success as nobody wants to wrestle Takeshita or Hobbs. He says he has all the talent with Revolution coming up and that they need to be on the pay-per-view. Callis says that he is looking in the family, and is pitting Takeshita against Will Ospreay for a match that people will talk about for years to come. He says that The Don Callis Family will win because they will be a family afterwards and everyone will be talking about them.

Adam Cole guests on commentary for the next match.

Wardlow quickly beats Barrett Brown.

In footage from earlier today, The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) land at the airport in their private jet, still wearing the suits soaked in Darby Allin's blood as they step into a Cadillac Escalade limousine.

"Daddy Magic" Matt Menard guests on commentary for the next match.

Adam Copeland vs. Daniel Garcia ends in a no-contest after Killswitch and "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne attack Copeland. Shayna Wayne and "The Patriarch" Christian Cage soon show up, and Christian pulls a few chairs out from underneath the ring. "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard grabs one of the chairs and confronts Christian, but he is clubbed from behind by Killswitch. Killswitch his Daniel Garcia with a chokeslam, then Nick Wayne and Christian Cage ready Garcia for a Con-Chair-To before Copeland fends them all off with a chair of his own. As Christian begs Copeland off in the corner, Shayna Wayne gets behind Copeland and hits him with a low blow. Wayne hits Copeland with Wayne's World, and Killswitch hits Copeland with the Extinction. Christian Cage then readies Adam Copeland for the Con-Chair-To and hits Copeland in the back of the head and neck. Christian Cage kisses the TNT Championship as The Patriarchy (Christian, Killswitch, Nick Wayne, Shayna Wayne) leaves the ring and Garcia checks on Copeland.

It is announced that Adam Copeland has been able to walk to the back, where he is currently being evaluated.

Samoa Joe heads to the ring. Joe says he comes with a spirit of apology, as his becoming champion brought back a ranking system and everything had been going well until Swerve Strickland and "Hangman" Adam Page battled tooth and nail for 30 minutes last week to a draw. He says the championship committee "took a page out of the Texas playbook" and made his championship match bigger and dumber, and now he finds himself in a three-way match. Joe says a crime has been committed against him and must be remediated, and guarantees he will hurt at least one of his challengers and leave them both limping out of the ring. Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana show up, and Swerve says that this was not supposed to be personal, but Joe ran his mouth. He also says Samoa Joe brought his resume and not his reputation, and that hunger makes a champion and that he himself is about to become the greatest champion of all time. Swerve says that nobody outgrinds him and demands Samoa Joe look at his resume and put respect on his name, and says he has gone toe-to-toe with champions and legends and made AEW his house. Swerve says that at Revolution, nothing changes except for the fact that he will hold the World Championship over his head. "Hangman" Adam Page shows up and says he is not mad about last week's match before saying last week's match was "horseshit," as he signed a contract to a match to decide a #1 contender and Swerve could not beat him. He says that if it were up to him, the championship match would be between two men who respect and value what the World Championship stands for, but Swerve has been added to the match. Hangman tells Swerve that after everything he has done to him, he does not deserve one second of his time, much less five more minutes, because he could not get the job done, and he does not deserve to be in the match. Samoa Joe says "this walking domestic dispute" ends tonight, and as far as Swerve and Hangman are concerned, he is whipping both of their asses.

We see the premiere of "Timeless" Toni Storm's new film, "Wet Ink," where Toni Storm talks about her history with "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo and how she got her into the wrestling world. She says that Deonna has forgotten who she is, and tells her that if she wants the old Toni, she will get that and so much more. She says that when one cannot change the past, you kill it. Meanwhile, a tattoo artist draws a dagger around her ankle tattoo. Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Deonna Purrazzo, who says that Toni Storm talks too much and that she will break her arm.

The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) beat Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) after Matthew hits Darius with a low blow while Nicholas distracts referee Rick Knox. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews The Young Bucks in the ring. Matthew says they are undefeated this year, making them the top unbeatable tag team in AEW. He says that Top Flight are a great team, but after beating them, they are number one contenders. When Schiavone calls their attack on Sting "despicable," Matthew calls this a breach of contract for disparagement of the Executive Vice Presidents as well as a $1,000 fine before Nicholas shoulder barges Schiavone. Matthew says Nicholas is being a hothead, and helps him up while telling him not to let it happen again. As The Young Bucks are about to hit Schiavone with an EVP-Trigger, Darby Allin chases them out of the ring with a baseball bat. Darby Allin says AEW's mission statement was to change the world and calls The Young Bucks out for seeing nothing in him and hiring all of their "shit friends" first, and is thankful that there was an EVP with brains at the time (a reference to "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes) and it was not Kenny Omega. Darby then mentions The Young Bucks praising their schedule and the money they are making as reasons for their re-signing with AEW, and says AEW's mission statement is dead and that this is "All Friendship Wrestling." Darby tells The Young Bucks have no idea what they are getting into trying to be the opponents for Sting's final match and that Sting has nothing left to lose, then says it is showtime.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews The Bang Bang Scissor Gang. "Switchblade" Jay White says they have momentum, championship gold and new merchandise, but they have yet to test their cohesiveness. Austin Gunn proposes they have a twelve-man match on Rampage, which Daddy Ass then proposes, much to Austin's confusion.

Willow Nightingale beats Skye Blue after Stokely Hathaway distracts the referee.

Orange Cassidy beats Matt Taven in a Texas Death Match.

Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for October 18, 2023

"Switchblade" Jay White beats Penta el Zero Miedo after "Rock Hard" Juice Robinson punches Penta in the face while Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn distract the referee. After the match, Jay White says MJF is not here while he is and that he is a real and elite world champion. He tells MJF he is still waiting for an answer to his offer and that MJF cannot find any tag team partners, and until he can pay his goon squad off again, he will lead by example. Juice Robinson then says that he will win the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal and take the Dynamite Diamond Ring and pawn it off for another gold tooth.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews MJF. MJF says he could have run out and gotten beaten up in a four-on-one beatdown, but he is a scumbag and he is not wasting his entrance pop tonight. He says he will get his title back at Full Gear, then prays that Juice Robinson wins the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal so he can punch him out and draw blood. Suddenly, The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn) show up wanting to be MJF's tag team partner, but MJF is not interested, especially after Max Caster offers to enter the battle royal and face MJF himself.

We see a video package for Hikaru Shida vs. Emi Sakura.

In footage from earlier today, Renee Paquette interviews Adam Copeland. Copeland admits things have not gone smoothly and that he does not know what has happened regarding his plans. He talks about how he became friends with Christian Cage and how he has always believed in him, yet Christian has always been in his shadow. He says that this has always clouded Christian's decisions, even though this is all he and Christian wanted to do and that Christian would be working a day job if it were not for him. Copeland wants to know why he and Christian are still competing and why this keeps happening, and that he does not want to take Christian's title or his spotlight and that he knows things will come crashing to the ground for him. Copeland says he does not want to fight Christian, but eventually, Nick Wayne and Luchasaurus will leave Christian high and dry, and when Christian hits the ground, he will be the one to pick him up.

Wardlow beats "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth by referee stoppage with one powerbomb despite a pre-bell attack by Nemeth. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Wardlow, who has the words "MJF" on his wrist tape. He shows that off, then bumps into Schiavone on his way out.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Kenny Omega. Omega says Kyle Fletcher has done him a favor in reminding him he is the measuring stick in AEW and tells Kyle that it will be Fletcher, the Don Callis Family, and then the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. MJF shows up and says he has always admired Omega, then shakes his hand and whispers "Thirteen days, bitch" into his ear.

Adam Cole is still at Roderick Strong's house. As Adam Cole is about to leave due to Roderick Strong complaining that he does not like hot coffee, Roderick Strong mentions Adam Cole making the best peanut better and jelly sandwiches. After Cole makes some sandwiches, Roderick Strong complains about the crust. Adam Cole gets ticked off and leaves, saying he has not talked to MJF in weeks and that he needs surgery. This time, he truly leaves, and Roderick Strong says he will have to be nice to MJF if he wants to get Adam Cole back.

Tony Schiavone interviews Don Callis, Powerhouse Hobbs and Konosuke Takeshita in the ring. Don Callis says that last week, his family made history when Chris Jericho was manhandled and broken in half by Powerhouse Hobbs. Hobbs says February 24, 1998 should have been the greatest day of his life, as he was supposed to meet Chris Jericho only for he and his grandmother to be verbally abused, and since then, he has promised to hurt Jericho over and over, and he made good on that promise. Callis says Hobbs has always been told to bottle up his hate and violence, but Hobbs has a new family and his family tells him to be what he is: a "6'3", 255 lb. killing machine." Callis then says he is not done and that Powerhouse Hobbs will be unleashed on everyone, and that Kyle Fletcher - whom he calls "a scab worker" who replaced Sammy Guevara in a match - screwed the Don Calls Family. Fletcher shows up, snatches the microphone from Callis' hand, and tells him that he did that match as a favor. He says that he may have been the weakest link that night, but he has Kenny Omega tonight, and he will prove that he does not need anyone's help to beat him. Callis tells Fletcher that if he beats Omega tonight, they may have an opportunity to discuss next week. Kenny Omega then shows up for the next match, on which Don Callis guests on commentary.

Kenny Omega beats Kyle Fletcher.

We see another vignette for Danhausen's upcoming return.

Lance Archer beats Barrett Brown.

We see a preview of the world music video premiere for the remix of "Big Pressure" by Swerve Strickland. Afterwards, Prince Nana and Swerve Strickland are in the graffiti park in Houston, Texas, but Swerve says he should be celebrating being a champion and blames Adam Page for taking opportunities from him. Swerve then warns Adam Page not to go to war with him as nobody cares less for life than him and that "it is not always you who pays for your actions."

Tony Schiavone interviews Sting in the ring. Sting looks back on his long career and the incredible names he met and knew along the way, then says he is still here all these years later and that it is the atmosphere and the fans of professional wrestling that keep him coming back. He admits that his body may not be what it used to be twenty years ago, then mentions the possibility of retiring. Sting announces that his last match will be at AEW Revolution 2024, then says the only thing for sure about his retirement is that it is for sure.

Backstage, RJ City interviews Toni Storm, who debuts her next blockbuster film "Gone With The Storm" during the commercial break.

Backstage, Jim Ross interviews Nick Wayne and Nick Wayne's mother. Jim Ross tells Nick Wayne that having great friends in wrestling is rare, and asks Nick's mother what she thought when everything went down. Nick's mother says she still cannot understand why Nick turned on Darby Allin, as it is so out of character for him, and trusting in Christian Cage after everything he has said to the both of them. Nick Wayne says he was always in Darby Allin's shadow and that it is time to prove why he is here, then says Christian Cage is his new father figure and a better father figure than Buddy Wayne ever was. Christian Cage shows up and asks Nick Wayne if he is ready to come home. As Nick Wayne leaves with Christian, he gets slapped by her own mother, and Nick says "You're dead to me" to her before leaving. After Nick and Christian leave, they are attacked by Darby Allin. Darby's attack on Nick Wayne continues to the ramp, where Luchasaurus gets involved. Sting shows up and fights both Christian and Luchasaurus, and Christian Cage is almost put in the Scorpion Deathlock before Luchasaurus saves him. (During the beating on the ramp, Nick Wayne loses a tooth and his mouth is busted open because of it.)

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Hook, Best Friends and Kris Statlander. Kris Statlander says her title is all about great professional wrestling, and she is giving a shot at the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale. Orange Cassidy says he knew he cared about the International Championship, and now that he has it back, he will continue to defend it, as there is unfinished business and he has something to prove.

MJF guests on commentary for the next match (and pays "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes off to kick Juice Robinson in the groin with the Shattered Dreams).

"Rock Hard" Juice Robinson last eliminates "Platinum" Max Caster to win the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal. During the match, "Switchblade" Jay White attacks MJF from behind at the commentary table. MJF gets the upper hand, but as he is about to blast Jay White with the AEW World Heavyweight Championship, Jay White hits him with a low blow and takes the title back. As this happens, "Platinum" Max Caster is distracted, and this allows Juice Robinson to put on his cubic zirconium ring on and knock Max Caster out in order to eliminate him and face MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring.

We hear from "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes, who says he has been on his "one last time" for quite some time, and in that time, he took Lance Archer out of the top five and the war is not over. He then issues a challenge to one of the greatest professional wrestlers on the planet who happens to be a dream match of his: CM Punk. Rhodes wants a match with Punk on Dynamite next week.

Ruby Soho beats Robyn Renegade to qualify for the Owen Hart Foundation's women's tournament despite Robyn switching places with her twin sister, Charlette Renegade.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry interviews Adam Cole and Adam Page. Adam Page says Adam Cole has been a thorn in his side for far too long over the AEW World Championship, then says Cole should have wrote a will after he finishes it - and maybe his career - tonight. Adam Cole says tonight will be the worst night of Page's career when he beats Page for the AEW World Championship and proves he is the better man in the process.

"Hangman" Adam Page retains the AEW World Championship against Adam Cole in a Texas Death Match.
