Blood and Guts - Dynamite recap for May 5, 2021

Before the next match, Don Callis says that Kenny Omega was unable to attend tonight's event, and that MT Nakazawa will be competing in the next match on his own. When Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston head to the ring, they are attacked from behind with the AEW World Championship by Omega.

Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston beat Kenny Omega and MT Nakazawa after Omega walks out on Nakazawa. After the match, The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) show up and distract Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston, allowing The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) to attack Moxley and Eddie from behind and The Young Bucks to join in. Omega shows up with Brandon Cutler acting as cameraman and hits Eddie with a One-Winged Angel.

Dr. Britt Baker will face Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women's World Championship at Double or Nothing.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes beats QT Marshall with a Figure Four Leg Lock. After the match, Anthony Ogogo gets in the ring and punches Cody with a right hand to the gut before draping him in a Union Jack.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews "All Ego" Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky. Scorpio says that Sting is nothing more than a mosquito feeding on the blood of the company, and that he and Ethan kill them. He says that Sting has overstayed his welcome and that showtime is over, then Ethan says he and Darby Allin have a very storied history and calls Darby Allin's war paint a cover-up for a dent he gave him, and that his metal plate is because of him. As Ethan continues to speak, he and Scorpio are attacked from behind by Darby Allin, and Scorpio Sky throws a trash can at him before forcing his face on his spiked shoes. Ethan Page then throws Darby Allin down the stairs to the upper concourse. A member of AEW medical staff checks on Darby Allin.

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. beats Julia Hart with the Lockjaw.

On Technique by Taz, Taz talks about Christian's Killswitch and top rope frog splash.

SoCal Uncensored ("The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) beat The Varsity Blonds (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.), Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) and The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) to face The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) for the AEW World Tag Team Championships next week.

We see a video package for Yugi Nagata vs. Jon Moxley for the IWGP United States Championship next week.

Tony Schiavone interviews Kenny Omega. Omega asks the fans if they are ready for the Blood and Guts Match, then says "that makes one of us" before saying that he has been a busy man as of late collecting gold around the world before saying his next title match has come. Schiavone then announces that PAC and Orange Cassidy will face each other in an eliminator match next week with the winner facing Omega for the AEW World Championship. Omega says that PAC has beaten him before, and understands that the fans want to see them wrestle again. Suddenly, Orange Cassidy shows up, and Omega pretends not to process Orange Cassidy facing him for the AEW World Championship before laughing, and says that while he understands what Cassidy means to the company, someone like him is not championship material. He says that Orange Cassidy ripped his taste in sunglasses from him, then says that Orange will not take his championship from him like he has taken his valuable time before putting Cassidy's sunglasses on MT Nakazawa. Omega then says the sunglasses on Nakazawa, who he says looks more like a champion than Cassidy, then says he will see him in ten years when he becomes a fully-grown adult.

Tony Schiavone interviews Miro. Miro says he told the world that nobody would distract him from his destiny, and that if anyone has a title, they have a problem. He says "the problem" is here to collect, and he produces a contract stating that he has a title match next week. He says that he will face Darby Allin for the TNT Championship, and tells Darby Allin to show up next week as he is not interested in a forfeit win before stating that we will see what happens when the man who doesn't mind dying meets the man who doesn't mind killing him.

The Pinnacle (MJF, Wardlow, Shawn Spears, Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood) beats The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Santana, Ortiz) in a Blood and Guts Match after MJF forces The Inner Circle to surrender under the pain of throwing Chris Jericho off the top of the cage. After the match, MJF does it anyway, and AEW medical staff check on Jericho afterwards.
