Layin 'da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for September 27, 2013

The show starts with Triple H entering the ring. He considers the comments of his "abuse of power" and favoritism" to be hogwash and nothing more than people blaming someone else like management for their shortcomings. After mentioning that this Monday's elimination handicap match wasn't enough to quell dissent, The Miz shows up. Triple H lumps him with the rest of the Superstars and even justifies Stephanie McMahon's actions on Monday's Miz TV. Triple H then gives Miz his match against Randy Orton for tonight.

Alberto Del Rio beats R-Truth...then puts the Cross Arm Breaker on him until Rob Van Dam goes after Del Rio.

Triple H makes the match for the World Heavyweight title between Rob Van Dam and Alberto Del Rio a Battleground Hardcore match.

The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O'Neil) teach two backstage hands the Millions of Dollars Dance in the back.

The Real Americans (Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro) beat The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O'Neil) with the Patriot Lock.

Bray Wyatt beats Zack Ryder.

Dolph Ziggler brings Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam with him for his match against Dean Ambrose of The Shield (Amborse, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) for the United States title. Nevertheless, The Shield are able to get their hands on Ziggler anyway. Triple H shows up and makes it a six-man tag match.

The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) beat Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam.

Renee Young interviews Big Show, who has been haunted by his actions from the past two weeks. Triple H shows up and makes fun of him before putting him back in his place.

AJ Lee (with Tamina Snuka in her corner) beats Cameron.

Paul Heyman mocks the audience for hating him and fueling CM Punk's bloodlust for him before saying Ryback will win at Battleground.

In a match that involves flutes being played to charm Santino Marella's cobra (as well as The Great Khali and Hornswoggle), Santino Marella beats Heath Slater.

The Miz beats Randy Orton by disqualification when Miz is too badly injured to go on. Triple H shows up and accuses Orton of getting himself intentionally disqualified to get out of the match, and restarts the match as a no-disqualification match. Despite a second win by The Miz, Randy Orton decimates him and wins the match.
