Layin' da SmackDown! - SmackDown recap for July 19, 2013

Teddy Long is here! He praises Brad Maddox...as well as Vince McMahon, who is here tonight! Teddy Long is geting a job evaluation, and when he asks the WWE Universe if he's doing well and if they'd like to see him in the position for good, they cheer! Then Booker T shows up! He's back! Then Vince shows up. He asks both men which match they have for the main event. Teddy has Curtis Axel vs Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental title, while Booker has Alberto Del Rio vs Randy Orton. Brad Maddox shows up to remind everyone that tonight, Rob Van Dam returns to SmackDown. Vince then makes his decision: Vickie Guerrero? Vickie shows up and enters the ring, and tells the fans that she hates each and every one of them for firing her from the Raw GM position.

Dolph Ziggler beats Jack Swagger. After the match, Ziggler talks about how he dumped AJ Lee and apologizes...for not dumping her sooner! Backstage, AJ Lee loses it, but Big E Langston calms her down and kisses her forehead.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) vs The Shield (Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns) becomes a 3-on-2 beatdown when Dean Ambrose jumps in. Mark Henry runs in and cleans house, and The Usos help him make it so!

Daniel Bryan beats Wade Barrett with the No Lock.

Brad Maddox congratulates Vickie Guerrero on becoming SmackDown General Manager...and gets slapped.

It's time for Miz TV! Paul Heyman is The Miz's guest. He gives Paul the microphone since he knows Paul will just lie or bend the truth. Heyman goes on about Brock Lesnar, then tells CM Punk to stay down so that Lesnar won't have to finish him off. Miz then figures out why Heyman lies all the time: it just makes him sound more threatening than he really is. He walks out of the ring to end the show, and Heyman introduces Miz to Curtis Axel, who enters the ring.

Curtis Axel retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against CHris Jericho after a distraction from Paul Heyman. After the match, Ryback demolishes Jericho.

Damien Sandow is in the ring. He insists Cody is still his friend and he has not backstabbed him, and that he will not react to Cody's attack on him from last week. He calls Cody out to explain himself. Cody shows up, but Damien Sandow forgives him and hands him an olive branch by letting him be the "protector of the case," letting Cody protect the blue Money In The Bank briefcase until Sandow cashes in. Cody takes it, then smacks Sandow with the briefcase before throwing it almost all the way to the top of the entrance ramp, making a massive dent in it.

Rob Van Dam beats Darren Young in his first SmackDown match in eight years.

Vickie Guerrero gets rid of Teddy Long by sicking security on him in sweet revenge from what happened last week.

Big Show returns next week on Raw!

Randy Orton beats Alberto Del Rio.
