EMTs check on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin backstage, and it appears that Austin may need stitches following the attack on him by The Undertaker at the end of Sunday Night Heat. Meanwhile, Michael Cole interviews WWF co-owners Vince and Shane McMahon, who insist they have nothing to do with the attack. Nevertheless, Vince guarantees that Austin will lose the WWF Championship tonight and never, ever be WWF Champion again.

We see photo stills from last night's live event in the Toronto Skydome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where Edge won the WWF Intercontinental Championship - his first WWF title - against Jeff Jarrett as a last-minute replacement for "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, who had transportation problems.

Before the next match, Jeff Jarrett says that nobody will see Debra's puppies because they are his, and that Edge will not be walking out with the WWF Intercontinental Championship, because he is the greatest Intercontinental champ of all time.

Jeff Jarrett beats Edge to become the WWF Intercontinental Champion for a record-setting fifth time, beating Razor Ramon's record of four reigns. During the match, the lights go out and a figure resembling Gangrel is seen attacking Edge as the arena glows red. When the lights come back on, Gangrel is out on the floor and the blood meant for Edge is spilled on the floor next to him. Shortly afterwards, Debra gets on the apron and distracts Edge. Jarrett knocks Edge into Debra, who falls off the apron, and Gangrel sends Edge neck first into the top rope behind the referee's back to score Jarrett the pinfall.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin gets his head bandaged up in the first room, and is told that this is only temporary by the doctors. Austin says this is all he needs, and he runs into the ring and attacks Jeff Jarrett. He then gets on the microphone and tells The Undertaker to listen up, saying that if he is going into the First Blood End Of An Era Match, then so will The Undertaker, and he plans to head down to the back and bust The Undertaker open.

Michael Cole interviews The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) and Michael Hayes. Hayes says he has taken the Hardys from curtain jerkers to tag team champs. He knows that The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) are tough, but they are not expecting his leadership. Tonight, he plans to lead by example.

The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) beat The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) and Michael Hayes in an Acolyte Rules Match (where anything goes) to become the WWF Tag Team Champions after a double power bomb to Michael Hayes.

Kevin Kelly interviews D'Lo Brown. He says it has been nine months since he last held the European Championshp, and tonight, he will show Mideon there is more to being a champion that taking a belt out of someone's bag and carrying it around the locker room; it is all about earning it, and it is about respect for the title.

D'Lo Brown beats Mideon to win the WWF European Championship!

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seen pushing the cameraman away backstage as he looks for The Undertaker.

Michael Cole interviews Al Snow. He says Michael Cole has no idea what it is like to hear screaming all of the time, and that he cannot even think. He asks if "he is going to make it stop."

Before the next match, Al Snow meets The Big Boss Man on the ramp and tells him to put him out of his misery. Boss Man responds by smacking the railroad spike in Head further down before fighting Snow.

The Big Boss Man beats Al Snow to become the WWF Hardcore Champion after handcuffing Snow to a fence outside of the arena, hitting him with a baton and pressing Snow's back on the gate with his boot.

Kevin Kelly interviews Hardcore Holly. Hardcore Holly says he is the big shot, and that he does not have to be partial to anyone, especially Big Show. He says that Big Show has been hanging around him for weeks trying to suck up to him, and it is not going to work tonight because he is law and order. He will take matters into his own hands if he has to, and if either Big Show or Kane, he will beat the hell out of them and that they both know he can do it. He also tells Kevin Kelly not to roll his eyes at him or else he'll beat the hell out of him, too.

Big Show beats Kane after special guest referee Hardcore Holly hits Kane with a chop block before making a fast count. After the match, X-Pac kicks Holly in the back of the head, then The Undertaker runs in and choke slams X-Pac before he and Big Show take the boots to Kane. After The Undertaker heads to the back, however, he is assaulted by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who busts him open.

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman in an Iron Circle match after knocking him out, allowing him to leave the circle of cars in the parking garage.

Terry Taylor interviews The Undertaker backstage. The Undertaker says the most dangerous animal is a hurt animal, and if Terry Taylor keeps this up, he'll be the one bleeding. He then rams Terry Taylor into a board on the wall.

Michael Cole interviews Chyna and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn. Chyna doesn't care about X-Pac condition, as this is what loyalty leads to. Mr. Ass says there are no breaks, as when it come to dollars and cents, it's eat or be eaten. Tonight, he and Chyna are going to have a feast.

X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James beat "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn and Chyna to retain the rights to the "D-Generation X" name. After the match, Road Dogg and X-Pac tells Billy Gunn and Chyna to suck it.

Michael Cole interviews The Rock, who says that Triple H was crying like a baby on Sunday Night Heat, and says he was kept at the bottom of the barrel because he absolutely sucks. He says that in 28 seconds, he will give him what he doesn't want as he talks about taking the WWF Championship in 28 days: him sticking a leather strap straight up his candy ass.

Triple H beats The Rock in a Strap Match to become #1 contender for the WWF Championship at SummerSlam after interference by Chyna and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn, the latter of whom grabs the leather strap that Triple H has freed himself from to yank The Rock off Triple H following a People's Elbow.

WWF co-owner Vince McMahon shows up on crutches. After looking at the picture of himself at the entrance, he heads towards the ring and has ring announcer Howard Finkel announce that he is guest on commentary for the next match.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin retains the WWF Championship against The Undertaker in a First Blood End Of An Era Match. As per pre-match stipulation, WWF co-owner Vince McMahon is forced to leave the World Wrestling Federation forever. During the match, The Undertaker accidentally charges into referee Earl Hebner, who then gets stomped by The Undertaker. 'Taker blocks a Stone Cold Stunner, but trips over Hebner and gets tied up in the ropes as a result. Austin grabs a steel chair, and WWF co-owner Shane McMahon runs into the ring only to get blasted straight in the head with it. Austin kicks Shane out of the ring, and 'Taker kicks Austin as he approaches with a chair. Austin hits 'Taker with a Stunner, then Vince gets off the commentary table to swing one of his crutches at Austin only to get punched in the face. Austin grabs another steel chair fro the outside, but 'Taker grabs the one that Austin left in the ring and uses it against him. 'Taker pushes Hebner to the corner when Hebner confronts him, then X-Pac gets in the ring as he prepares to hit Austin with a chair again. Austin grabs a TV camera and smashes it into 'Taker's forehead. Shane gets back in the ring, but Austin takes him down again. It is then revealed that The Undertaker is bleeding, but Hebner is still down. 'Taker gets Austin ready for the Tombstone, but Hebner notices that 'Taker is bleeding and ends the match. 'Taker hits Hebner, then Austin hits 'Taker with a Stunner. An angry Vince gets in the ring with a crutch in his hands, but he falls victim to a Stone Cold Stunner. Triple H then gets in the ring and assaults Austin until The Rock rushes in and fends off Triple H at ringside, taking their brawl to the back. Austin rolls out of the ring, then 'Taker gets out and grabs yet another steel chair as he tears up the timekeeper's area. Austin punches The Undertaker, then both men brawl at ringside. Shane gets in The Undertaker's way only to get punched out, then Austin and 'Taker brawl again. Referees and officials have to break the brawl up, and Austin goes at it with The Undertaker as he tries to make his way back to the back. Austin is eventually separated from The Undertaker, and a tearful Vince McMahon is seen in the ring as the crowd cheers. Austin gets in the ring and offers to shake Vince's hand, and Vince shakes his hand only to receive a Stone Cold Stunner on the way out.
