Heatwave 1999 - The Results

Taz tells Yoshihiro Tajiri that tonight is the night he gets torn apart by the Human Suplex Machine, because he is the World Heavyweight Champion and he is Taz.

Danny Doring says there is a lot of stargazing going on, and that everyone in TV Land wants to know who the hottest stars in Heatwave are going to be. He says it will be him and Roadkill, as they have been busting their backsides for too long. They're long, strong and bound to get their wrestle on. Tonight, they are here to stay.

Nova says that he will be the hottest star at Heatwave, because ECW is giving him the chance and nobody or nothing will cost him that shot. He also takes offense to Chris Chetti wanting the camera to get a good shot at his face.

Jason says he will be the hottest star at Heatwave, since he is the sexiest man alive.

The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) say they won't be the hottest stars at Heatwave. Instead, it will be Balls Mahoney, because when they get done tossing him into the air and powerbombing him through a flaming table, he will be going up in a blaze of glory.

Steve Corino says the hottest star at Heatwave is him, because when Yoshihiro Tajiri beats Taz, he will hand the ECW World Heavyweight Championship over to him, making him the hottest star in ECW on both TV and pay-per-view.

Lance Storm says it does not matter who the hottest star at Heatwave is, and what matters is who has the most impact: him and Justin Credible, The Impact Players. He says they have so much impact that Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn have to team together tonight to try to stop them, but he says nobody will stop them because their momentum started nine years ago in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Credible says that's not just the best, that's not just the greatest...that's Justin Credible.

Jerry Lynn says he does not like Rob Van Dam and never will, but he respects the hell out of him and is tagging with him tonight as a result, since he knows first hand what kind of punishment he can deliver in the ring. The Impact Players (Justin Credible and Lance Storm) are the two people in ECW he despise the most, and tonight, they're both getting smoked. He then opens a door, and inside are Rob Van Dam and Bill Alfonso. RVD says he will be teaming with Jerry Lynn, with or withourt ALfonso's permission. Sabu shows up and takes offense to this, and RVD tells Sabu he's about to show him that he's "the whole fucking team."

Joey Styles welcomes everyone to tonight's show.

Before the next match, Danny Doring and Roadkill show up with a woman. Danny Doring says he would normally come out to the ring and put the crowd down, but he is not going to do that because he was laying in his suite last night and had a revelation where he realized that the Danaconda needs to stop with the sexual tyranny and settle down. What he found was a honest, pure and chaste woman - to which the crowd responds that she is a ho and that she has herpes - that he loves, and asks her to marry him. The woman says she would love to. She then asks for the crowd, and the crowd chants that she is a crack whore. Roadkill cannot find a ring; instead, he finds a condom. As he is about to place the condom-turned-makeshift ring on her finger, Nova and Chris Chetti show up. Chetti shows up in a cape and a top hat, and the match starts as Chetti is still preening at the aisle, not having had made it halfway to the ring.

Nova and Chris Chetti beat Danny Doring and Roadkill. During the match, Chetti grabs the microphone and showboats after hitting a moonsault on Roadkill, saying that move was as pretty as he is, and that he has the ladies' heatwave in his pants. He then dances to music in the middle of the match, which causes the woman who accompanied Danny Doring and Roadkill to the ring to grind on him. Nova is disgusted with Chetti, and the music stops. The woman tries to slap Nova, but slaps Chettin instead. This causes Chetti to hit him with a Michinoku Driver before Danny Doring clotheslines both men from behind. Danny Doring and Roadkill are about to double-team Nova, but Nova hits the Kryptonite Krunch after Chetti kicks Roadkill in the head off the top rope. After a double bulldog off the top rope on Roadkill, they get the pinfall.

Jazz beats Jason with a Jazz Stinger into a steel chair.

Cyrus shows up at the commentary booth and says Paul Heyman sent him to commentary, much to the chagrin of Joey Styles.

Super Crazy beats Little Guido. During the match, Super Crazy hits a moonsault on both Little Guido and Big Sal E. Graziano in the crowd off the rail of a balcony. Later still, Big Sal E. Graziano hits Super Crazy with a 600-lb. Rocker Dropper as referee Jim Molineaux is dealing with Little Guido.

Cyrus says he is having a good time on commentary. Joey Styles announces that ECW is finally debuting on national television on The Nashville Network on Friday nigths at 8 PM Eastern, 7 PM Central beginning August 27th. The first taping will be Saturday, August 15th in Toledo, Ohio at the Seagate Center, with more information available at ECWWrestling.com.

As The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) make their way to the ring, D-Von says that tonight or any other night is always time to testify. Buh Buh Ray says the ECW World Tag Team Championships are the only tag team titles that mean a thing in the business, and taht they are six times greatness and the best tag team in the world today. He dares anyone to knock them off the pedestals that they have climbed so high, as they are the greatest. He tells the wrestling world to take notice, and they are going down in history as the greatest tag team that ever lived.

Before the next match, D-Von Dudley says The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) are in the house, and that they have turned the heat up a little higher than normal. He says that if he were the crowd, he would sit down and shut the fuck up. Buh Buh Ray takes the microphone, and says that just being in "this miserable, piece of shit city" makes him him want to [inaudible]. He says the crowd is nothing but lower-class, white trash pieces of garbage. Tonight, Dayton, Ohio and the rest of the entire wrestling world are going to find out why he and D-Von are "the best goddamn tag team in the world," and if they had the time, they would come out there and kick the entire crowd's asses. He continues to mock the crowd, saying that there is "some faggot in a Hawaiian shirt out there," "a mom in the front row who taught her daughter how to suck dick" and "a ugly skankosaurus who's going to take nine inches of Black dick so far up her ass she won't know what hit her." Buh Buh Ray says the best part about mocking the crowd is that nobody has the balls to do anything about it. He then dares "a fat, bald motherfucker" to jump the guardrail and get in the ring with him, then says the guy is a little confused, and since he won't come to them, they'll come to the crowd. Security is in place as Buh Buh Ray mouths off to him, and Buh Buh Ray tosses beer in his face as a woman yells at Buh Buh Ray and spits at him. Buh Buh Ray calls the woman "a $5-an-hour fuckin' whore." "The Quintessential Studmuffin" Joel Gertner - who has bandages all over his face - then does his usual ring introduction for The Dudley Boyz. When Balls Mahoney shows up with Little Spike Dudley, he says that he and Spike will take the ECW tag team titles from them, and that this match is a Dayton Street Fight where falls count anywhere in the building.

Balls Mahoney and Little Spike Dudley beat The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) with a schoolboy and inside cradle to become the ECW World Tag Team Champions in a falls-count-anywhere Dayton Street Fight. After the match, the Dudley attack the new champs and hit both of them with a Dudley Death Drop. Sign Guy Dudley then pulls out two tables and some lighter fluid. The tables are set up, the lighter fluid is poured on them, and the tables are lit on fire. Both Spike Dudley and Balls Mahoney are driven through flaming tables, and Balls Mahoney is dropped on his neck. Suddenly, New Jack makes a shocking return with a shopping cart full of weapons, and fights off The Dudley Boyz himself before helping Spike Dudley and Balls Mahoney to their feet.

"The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer and Francine show up. Dreamer tells the the crowd that they are nuts if they think there will be a Heatwave without them, and after the show is over, he proposes that everyone goes back to the hotel, get drunk, get naked and have one hell of an afterparty. He says there are a lot of representatives for national television, pay-per-view and cable, and then talks about how he watched WWF King of the Ring three weeks ago and WCW Bash at the Beach, the latter of which nearly put him to sleep. He says none of this is on the wrestlers, as they deserve all the credit and respect that they give them, but Heatwave still has a few matches to go and asks the crowd "Is this the pay-per-view standard to set or what?" He then has two announcements to make. The first is that ECW can be seen on Friday Nights at 8 PM Eastern on The Nashville Network, meaning that 86 million viewers in the United States and 17 million in Canada will be able to watch them weekly. He says that the ECW locker room would not be here without the fans' love and support. Tommy talks about how he was on a card with 50 fans, and how they told their friends and the audience doubled until they sold out arenas. They had full houses and one TV station, then they achieved pay-per-view, and now they have achieved national television. He asks the fans to go even further and make ECW the #1 wrestling company in the world today. Tommy then breaks down, saying this all makes the second part of his announcement even harder. Before he can mention it, however, Jack Victory, Rhyno and Steve Corino show up. Corino says he is sorry to break up his sad announcement, and says Dreamer is afraid to admit he is "a 28-year-old has been." Corino calls Dreamer a casualty of hardcore wrestling, and for six years, Dreamer has slaved for ECW, falling from 18 tables and being bashed with more chairs for anybody. He says that Dreamer has spilled more blood than anybody else who has entered ECW, and that is has led to Dreamer's physical therapy not working and his two herniated discs in his spine not working to the point that Dreamer will have to get surgery and that Dreamer's career is over. Back in 1993, Dreamer used to wear suspenders, be in great shape, and and smile and slap hands. He says that this was the Dreamer he respected because he was a wrestler, but over time, the fans got to him and Dreamer became "the cancer of Extreme Championship Wrestling." Corino says that the "W" in ECW still stands for wrestling, and when he asks the fans if they come to see Francine, the crowd cheers. Corino says that after all the chairs, the tables and the pints of blood, he asks Dreamer if it was really worth it for all these people. Dreamer says yes. Corino yells at him, asking if he is nuts because his career is dead and he needs surgery for his back. He says he is 24 years old and in the greatest shape of his life. He has no scars on his body because he wrestles and gives the people what they want: an old-school match like what they used to see in Memphis, Tennessee, but Dreamer had to prove something and be "The Innovator of Violence." Corino says he now has a role for him. Since Dreamer will never wrestle on TNN and he will, he asks Dreamer to do the traditional thing of laying down in the middle of the ring so he can pin him - even hooking the leg, because he respects him - so he can elevate his career while Dreamer goes off to pasture and get a job doing something else, because he is the star of Heatwave. Dreamer says he doesn't care if he has to be wheeled out in a wheelchair, because he will not do the job because he's been here for six years while Corino has been here for four months. Dreamer says it was him and people like him who broke their backs for the people in the crowd, and he tells Corino to shove it up his ass. As Dreamer leaves, Corino attacks Dreamer, saying "Six years ain't nothin'" and that "I don't think we have a pension plan!" He asks Dreamer where his pride is, and says Dreamer is nothing. All of the chops and punches have no effect on Dreamer, who ends up punching Corino right in the face before Francine hits a Bronco Buster off the back of referee John Molineaux. After another punch to Corino's face and a Swinging DDT to Corino, Yoshihiro Tajiri shows up and attacks both Dreamer and Francine from behind with swift martial arts kicks. Jack Vicgory gets out of his wheelchair and punches Molineaux. Tajiri puts Dreamer in the Tarantula, then Taz shows up and stomps Tajiri out of the hold. This starts Tajiri vs. Tazz for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship.

Taz retains the ECW World Heavyweight Championship against Yoshihiro Tajiri. During the match, Taz pushes Jack Victory off the wheelchair on the ramp and into the ring ropes, and throws the wheelchair into Jack Victory's face. Later in the match, Taz grabs some sort of wire (the type of which is never explained, as Joey Styles instructs the production team to stay in a wide shot as Joey claims that Taz is going to take them off pay-per-view for this) and strangles Tajiri with it as he puts him in the Katahajime, to which Tajiri taps out. Referees, officials and even wrestlers from the back have to stop Taz, and when Judge Jeff Jones asks Tazz what he is doing, Taz tosses him off the side of the ramp before Taz declares that he is ECW World Heavyweight Champion.

Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn beat The Impact Players (Justin Credible and Lance Storm). Near the end of the match, Rob Van Dam is about to put Justin Credible through a table with the Five Star Frog Splash, but Sabu rushes in and dives off the top rope onto Justin Credible, putting him through. Rob Van Dam then aims for the middle of the ring to break a pinfall attempt by Lance Storm, but Storm moves out of the way and RVD lands on Lynn instead. Despite this, Lynn is able to hit Storm with the Cradle Piledriver for the win. After the match, Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn have a word with each other, then Sabu pushes RVD into Lynn, starting a brawl between all three men. Referees and officials have to stop the brawl.
