Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for April 29, 1996

Sting and Lex Luger retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships against Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) after Jimmy Hart throws a towel into the towel, distracting Harlem Heat. Sting gets the schoolboy pin for the win.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat Fire and Ice (Scott "Flash" Norton and Ice Train) when Norton is too busy with Scott Steiner.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Flair isn't worried about The Giant. Woman says The Giant is "a small man" compared to the Nature Boy, and Miss Elizabeth says The Giant isn't anywhere near as much of a man as Flair.

Our world is about to change...blood runs cold...and it's coming to WCW...

"Lord" Steve Regal beats The Belfast Bruiser after a piledriver to the top of a hatchback. The Bruiser is fuming after the match, and throws a torn-off front bumper into a windshield in anger.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair tries to get Debra McMichaels' attention again. At this point, Debra tells Flair to leave her alone.

The Giant beats "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship after reversing the Figure Four Leg Lock by rising up off the mat, grabbing Flair by the throat, standing up and hitting him with a Choke Slam in a seemingly superhuman fashion. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Giant and Jimmy Hart. Hart says Flair gets to go home with the women, but The Giant gets to go home with the gold. The Giant says he knew in his heart of hearts that the World title was his since Halloween Havoc, and he's World champion and a fighting champion whether the people like it or not. He calls out Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Sting, and says that come one, come all, they are going to fall.
