Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for April 1, 1996

The show begins with The Giant and Sting in the ring. They were supposed to be partners in a match against Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) made on Saturday, but by the time the show is on the air, the match has de-evolved to The Giant and Sting being at odds. The match ends when Lex Luger shows up, and The Giant says that the only reason Sting is still alive is because Lex Luger is there.

We find out that Jimmy Hart bribed Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) to walk away from their match against Sting and The Giant.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beats The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) and The Road Warriors (Animal and Hawk) when Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and Rocco Rock) beat up The Nasty Boys. Johnny Grunge, dressed as Brian Knobbs, takes the fall and ends up being the one pinned by Rick Steiner, not Knobbs himself. It is finally revealed that Public Enemy were the ones who attacked The Nasty Boys backstage several weeks ago.

This Saturday: The Giant vs. Lex Luger for the WCW World Television Championship! "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Scott "Flash" Norton! "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. The Booty Man!

Hulk Hogan and The Booty Man beat The Taskmaster and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson when The Taskmaster and Hulk Hogan have a shoe war...and The Booty Babe's shoe wins out over Woman's. During the match, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan says tonight is his last night on the air. After the match, The Booty Man has to save Kimberly The Booty Babe from an attack from Woman and Miss Elizabeth. During the replay, Anderson, Woman and Miss Elizabeth try to get The Booty Babe's shoe but are unsuccessful.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Hulk Hogan, The Booty Man and Kimberly The Booty Babe. Hogan and company had their opponents where they wanted them, but they always get the last word. The Booty Man says he has something in store for The Taskmaster and his allies which he can't give away, and all Hulk has to do is be his partner on next week's Nitro. Hogan is up for it.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Lex Luger after Woman tosses hot coffee into Luger's face during the Torture Rack and Ric Flair puts his feet on the top rope during the pinfall. Sting charges into the ring, forcing Flair, Woman and Miss Elizabeth to retreat. During the match, it is announced that Nitro will be preempted next week, and won't air again until the 15th.

In typical fashion, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan reveals that his announcement that tonight is his last night is an April Fool's joke.
