Raw Deal - Raw recap for February 5, 1996

Diesel and "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels beat Yokozuna and The British Bulldog by count-out after Michaels superkicks Yokozuna out of the ring. Owen Hart shows up to help Yokozuna get back in, but even he can't help him. After the match, Jim Cornette berates Yokozuna and blames him for his team's loss, and Yokozuna turns face and attacks Jim Cornette as a result. The British Bulldog and Owen Hart attack Yokozuna, but it doesn't do any good as he turns on them as well. Owen and Bulldog run right out of the ring, and then to the back with Cornette as Yokozuna gives chase shortly afterwards.

Mankind says he's finally found a home...a hardcore home...

The 1-2-3 Kid beats Hakushi.

We hear pre-recorded comments from Jim Cornette and Clarence Mason, who have not heard any word from the World Wrestling Federation concerning Vader and intend to sue. He then hear from Gorilla Monsoon, who says that he will be okay and apologizes for his actions towards Vader that evening, saying he responded as Gorilla Monsoon and not as the interim WWF President. He thanks the fans for their well-wishes. As for Vader, it's out of his hands and into those of the Board of Directors, and that an apology to him is "highly unlikely." Concerning "Rowdy" Roddy Piper as the new President, he considers Piper a good friend of his and says that desperate times lead to desperate actions. thinks that Piper will be good for the WWF until he returns at WrestleMania.

The 1996 Slammy Awards take place on WrestleMania weekend! Cast your ballot today to decide who will win!

It is announced that Raw will not be on the air next week due to the Westminster Dog Show.

In the middle of The Undertaker vs. Bret "The Hit Man" Hart for the WWF Championship, Diesel guests on commentary to scout both The Undertaker and Bret Hart.

The Undertaker vs. Bret "The Hit Man" Hart ends in a draw with the ref being knocked out and Diesel getting involved. He attacks Bret hart only to be attacked by The Undertaker. Diesel then grabs a steel chair and rams it into 'Taker's back, then sends him into the ring and hits him with a Jackknife Power Bomb. The Undertaker does what he can to get back up, and Diesel puts The Undertaker in another Jackknife Power Bomb before leaving the ring.

During the commercial break, Bret "The Hit Man" Hart gets back up and attacks Diesel. Officials have to break the brawl up. Meanwhile, The Undertaker is lying in the ring.

We see more from the "Billionaire Ted" press conference. When asked about WCW wasting millions of dollars, "Ted" says he's just having fun. As for the Time Warner merger, he doesn't care about the shareholder and is only concerned about having fun, saying that as long as he's having fun, that's all that matters. As for what motivates him? Power and money. We then see an advertisement concerning the $40 million dollars wasted on "Ted's" vendetta against the World Wrestling Federation that was rejected by The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. A modified version of the ad will be published in The New York Times' Financial section this Wednesday.
