Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for August 22, 2014

Randy Orton starts the show. He says that just because you've won the battle doesn't mean you've won the war, and that one match does not define him. When he is focused, it leads to things like Roman Reigns being RKO'd through an announce table. He has a match tonight with Rob Van Dam, whom he calls "collateral damage" and an example for all in the back of what happens to those who dare to mess with him...he'll put them away.

Seth Rollins beats Jack Swagger by count-out when Rollins hits a Curb Stomp on Swagger as he tries to get back in the ring, sending him back out and knocking him out cold. Bo Dallas shows up and tells Swagger that he plans to pick up the pieces and become "the new American sweetheart."

As Miz waits for his pumpkin spice latte (which he doesn't care if it's in season), Kane tells him he has a rematch against his opponent from last week, Roman Reigns.

Rusev beats Sin Cara with the Accolade. As Lana speaks on the microphone after the match, Mark Henry appears on the TitanTron, saying he's putting Rusev on the Hall of Pain. He leaves the backstage area and heads down to the ring. Rusev and Lana regroup outside the ring.

Renee Young interviews Rob Van Dam. He is soon attacked from behind by Randy Orton, who tells Renee Young to tell him that when he gets up, he'll be waiting right by the ring.

Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam ends in a double count-out...but not before we see the vicious side of Orton.

Renee Young interviews Roman Reigns. Randy Orton may be coming after him tonight, but he knows what Orton and the rest of his allies are capable of, and he plans to kill the legend of the Legend Killer.

Natalya beats Paige with the Sharpshooter after AJ Lee repeatedly distracts Paige.

Goldust and Stardust beat The Wyatt Family (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan). After the match, the Wyatts go on the warpath.

Roman Reigns quickly beats The Miz as Randy Orton watches from up close. Reigns dares Orton to get in the ring after the match, and this starts a brawl where Roman eventually comes back on top in the end.
