D'Lo Brown retains the WWF European Championship by disqualification against Val Venis after Venis shoves referee Jimmy Korderas away from him following a second attempt at a Money Shot with D'Lo Brown's chest protector. During the match, Venis rips D'Lo's chest protector out and tries to use it for the Money Shot, but Jimmy Korderas try to stop him from doing it and accidentally crotches Venis on the top rope. Venis tries it again, but Korderas still tries to prevent him from doing so, which cause Venis to shove him right to the other side of the ring in frustration. After the match, Val Venis knocks down Korderas and hits him with the Money Shot.
Michael Cole is backstage with Mankind as the hearse that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin trashed on Sunday Night Heat is being towed away. Mankind says he was going to stuff Kane in the back of the hearse, and while the smashing of the hearse is good news for Brisco Brothers Body Shop, it is not good news for him. Mankind, with a sledgehammer in his hands, says he may get to use the sledgehammer after all.
The Oddities (Luna Vachon, Golga, Kurrgan, Giant Silva) are accompanied by Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope), who perform The Oddities' theme song during their entrance. (This footage is cut from the WWE Network.)
The Oddities (Golga, Kurrgan, Giant Silva) beat Kaientai (Dick Togo, Men's Teioh, Sho Funaki, Taka Michinoku) in a comedic 4-on-3 handicap match. During the match, Golga takes one of Yamaguchi-san's new shoes, smells it, shares the smell with Kurrgan and Silva, then pours a cup of water into the show. When Yamaguchi-san confronts him in the ring, Golga splashes the water from the shoe into Yamaguchi-san's face. Yamaguchi-san tries to use the other shoe as a weapon later on, but Luna Vachon stops him before that can happen. All four members of Kaientai get a one-handed chokeslam from Kurrgan and Giant Silva, and Golga pins all four men. (The post-match activity is also edited out on WWE Network.)
Before the match, Howard Finkel accompanies X-Pac to the ring wearing a D-Generation X shirt and does the crotch chop with X-Pac to stick it to "Double J" Jeff Jarrett for cutting his hair earlier tonight on Sunday Night Heat. X-Pac then tells "Double J" Jeff Jarrett that if he likes to talk trash, then he and Finkel have two words for him. The Fink delivers the trademark "Suck it!" line.
X-Pac beats "Double J" Jeff Jarrett in a Hair vs. Hair Match. During the match, Double J punches Howard Finkel off the apron, allowing X-Pac to hit a distracted Double J with the X-Factor. Double J kicks out as Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight) show up and try to get involved, only for X-Pac to hit Dennis Knight, take the guitar and smash it into Double J's head as the referee is distracted by Mark Canterbury. After the match, The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn), The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) and Darren "Puke" Drozdov show up to hold Double J down on a steel chair, with Road Dog keeping Southern Justice at bay with a chair of his own. Dok Hendrix is in front of the chain link fence where the Lion's Den Match betwen "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and Owen Hart will take place. Michael Cole then interviews "The Rock" Rocky Maivia, who wants to know "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley now that he has injured one of his legs with the Intercontinental title, and says he will prove he is The People's Champion, The People's Choice and "the best damn Intercontinental Champion there ever was."
Sable reveals her tag team partner is Edge.
Sable and Edge beat Jacqueline and "Marvelous" Marc Mero.
Michael Cole interviews Mankind. Kane will not be able to show up at SummerSlam, and Mankind, believing he will be absolutely destroyed in the ring by himself, is considering forfeiting the tag team titles before entertaining the ideas of having Michael Cole as his tag team partner, both of them having their asses kicked all over Ne York City and Mankind playing in traffic in order to give the fans their money's worth. WWF owner Vince McMahon tries to calm Mankind down and convince him that he can defend the tag team titles - especially with the match being no-holds-barred and falls count anywhere - and that if he does, he will immortalize himself in Madison Square Garden history. Vince finds a set of candlesticks and a steel pan for weapons, and after Mankind feels better about his chances, says that if The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) don't like it, he's got 13 words for them: "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?"
"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats Owen Hart in a Lion's Den Match. Dan "The Beast" Severn walks out on Owen before Owen taps out. Unlike the other matches on the card, the match takes place in the theater of the Madison Square Garden, rather than the arena where the regular wrestling ring is.
Michael Cole interviews "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, as The Undertaker has showed up alone. Austin doesn't trust anybody, and while he respect him, he will cheap shot him to death if he has to, as he refuses to give anybody the satisfaction of himself losing the WWF Championship.
Before the next match, The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) show up with a dumpster full of weapons, saying they are going to take it old school with the dumpster.
The New Age Outlaws ("Road" Dog" Jesse James) beat Mankind to become the WWF Tag Team Champions! Despite having one bad knee and "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry throwing powder into his face, and with assistance from Chyna, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley beats "The Rock" Rocky Maivia in a Ladder Match to become the WWF Intercontinental Champion!
In exclusive home video release footage, The Rock is seen heading to an office where he refuses the help of a doctor. The Rock tells "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley that he may have beaten him, but there is nobody that can become The People's Champion as he is The People's Champion. He says he will get payback in due time.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin retains the WWF Championship against The Undertaker. During the match, Kane shows up, and The Undertaker tells Kane to go back as it is betweenhim and Austin.
