Before the next match, "The Rock" Rocky Maivia expresses his opinion of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, saying you don't become a blue chip talent like him by downing beer and bratwurst everyday, and if he grew up in the town and had to pick "one of those overweight, beer-dreakin' bearded female pigs" for his own, he'd be sucking down beers like a baby sucks on a pacifier. Faarooq suddenly rushes into the ring, hammers The Rock, and grabs a steel chair only to be kicked in the gut by The Rock. The Rock grabs the chairs and swings for Faarooq's head as referees show up, but Faarooq ducks, The Rock hits the ropes and rebounds the chair back into his head, allowing Faarooq to drop The Rock on his head with a piledriver before leaving. The rest of The Nation of Domination (Owen Hart, D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry) rush in to check on The Rock, and The Rock has to be placed on a stretcher after a cervical collar is applied.
Michael Cole interviews "Stone Cold" Steve Austin backstage. Austin says this won't be the last time he walks out at WWF Champion, as he doesn't trust anybody and knows WWF owner Vince McMahon will stack the cards as he sees fit. It doesn't matter who is out there, as he will stay WWF Champion. As for who will watch Vince McMahon to ensure he calls the match down the middle, there have been no takers, as Austin thinks everyone is scared of Vince and what he'll do to them. Austin concludes the interview by saying that Vince's ass will belong to him.
. During the match, it is announced that WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter has ordered "The Rock" Rocky Maivia to defend the WWF Intercontinental Championship regardless of what condition he is in. Also, Al Snow and Head are seen guesting on the Spanish commentary table, with Head wearing a sombrero and Al Snow wearing a poncho until they are escorted out of the building by arena security.
"Double J" Jeff Jarrett beats "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman. During the match, Tennessee Lee distracts the referee, allowing Steve Blackman to hit Jarrett with one of his glowsticks. He tosses the glowstick Lee's way, and pins Jarrett only for Jarrett to get a rope break due to Lee placing his foot on the bottom rope. When Blackman goes up top, Lee takes the glowstick and nicks Blackman in the leg with it, knocking him off the top turnbuckle and allowing Jarrett to get the pinfall.
When Sable shows up for the next match dressed for a match much like she was at WrestleMania 14, she tells "Marvelous" Marc Mero she got herself into this and that she will get herself out of it. She says she doesn't need a man to fight her battle for her, and if anybody is going to win her freedom, it's going to be her. Marc has the feeling Sable really hates him, and wonders what happened to them. Mero admits he cares about her, and even dedicated his Intercontinental Championship to her. After seeing that she wants to go through hell and high water to nullify their contract, he tells Sable that he will give her her freedom and tells the timekeeper to ring the bell. Mero then lays down for Sable to pin him, and when Sable goes for the pin, Mero turns it into a small package. "Marvelous" Marc Mero beats Sable with a small package to. As per pre-match stipulation, Sable is gone from the World Wrestling Federation forever. After the match, Mero tells Sable to get out before he sings Na Na Hey Hey (The Goodbye Song).
Michael Cole interviews a distraught Sable backstage. Sable says she had no idea that "Marvelous" Marc Mero would stoop so low and that she should have known better. She thanks all the fans for their support before telling them goodbye.
Dok Hendrix tries to interview "The Rock" Rocky Maivia as the rest of The Nation of Domination (Owen Hart, D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry) check on him, but to no avail.
Kaientai (Dick Too, Men's Teioh, Sho Funaki) beat Bradshaw and Taka Michinoku in a bonus 3-on-2 handicap match.
Sable is seen leaving the arena with her bags.
Before the next match, "The Rock" Rocky Maivia's music plays twice, but The Rock fails to show. WWF Commissioner shows up, sends the referee to the back and orders The Rock to get in the ring before the count of ten or else the WWF Intercontinental Championship will be awarded to Faarooq. The referee comes back with The Rock, who is still wearing his cervical collar. Faarooq attacks The Rock at ringside, getting the fight started early and removing the cervical collar to use it as a weapon before tossing it away.
"The Rock" retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Faarooq after The Rock breaks Faarooq's pinfall by placing his foot on the bottom rope, then uses the ropes for leverage when he does one of his own. Faarooq hits The Rock with two piledrivers after the match, then the rest of The Nation of Domination (Owen Hart, D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry) go after Faarooq. Suddenly, D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) run in and fight off the Nation, clearing them out of the ring.
Kane beats Vader in a match where the loser must unmask. After the match, Kane removes Vader's mask then gives it to Paul Bearer, who puts it on and mocks Vader. After the match, Michael Cole interviews Vader, who says he has no excuses and made the biggest mistake of his life. He says that "Vader Time is probably over," and calls himself "a big fat piece of shit."
WWF honors two of the greatest names in professional wrestling history from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the Mid-West: Mad Dog Vachon and The Crusher. Jerry "The King" Lawler, who spends the brief ceremony being disrespectful, gets in the ring, calls them a pair of nobodies and mocks them for their age. When Lawler makes fun of Vachon's artificial leg and tries to show it to the world, The Crusher decides he's had enough and hits him in the throat with his signature bolo punch. Lawer leaves the ring, then gets back in for more. Lawler rips off Vachon's leg and tries to use it as a weapon, but The Crusher forces him out of the ring again. Lawler gets in the ring a third time, but The Crusher hits him in the face with the artificial leg. After this, Lawler finally gives up.
The Nation of Domination (Owen Hart, Kama Mustafa, D'Lo Brown) beats D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) after Owen Hart hits Triple H with the Pedigree on one of the tag team belts. while the referee is trying to restore order outside of the ring.
Dok Hendrix interviews WWF owner Vince McMahon, who says he will call the match down the middle and hopes that Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson will also do their jobs properly. Vince then states that if "Stone Cold" Steve Austin attacks him at any time, he will strip him of the WWF Championship and award it to Dude Love. He also states that the match will end by his hand only.
Special guest ring announcer Pat Patterson is introduced to the ring with a description that paints him as a role model. Likewise, when Pat Patterson does his job as special guest ring announcer, he does the same for both special guest timekeeper Gerald Brisco and special guest referee Vince McMahon. Patterson's introduction for Dude Love is equally positively-slanted and as equally long-winded, but when it comes to introduce "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Patterson flatly refuses. It is then revealed that the person who will be watching Vince McMahon to ensure he calls the match down the middle is none other than The Undertaker.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin retains the WWF Championship against Dude Love in a match with WWF owner Vince McMahon as special guest referee, Pat Patterson as special guest ring announcer, Gerald Brisco as special guest timekeeper and The Undertaker as a special guest enforcer who makes sure Vince calls the match down the middle. During the match, Austin destroys Dude Love's artificial front teeth, and Vince McMahon changes the rules declares the match to be no-disqualification, falls-count-anywhere match at multiple points through the match. Near the end, when Austin hits Dude Love with a chair, Vince refuses to count, and Dude Love tries to hit Austin with a chair in return only to hit Vince instead. Austin hits Dude Love with the Stone Cold Stunner, and referee Mike Chioda tries to make the count only to be pulled out of the ring by Pat Patterson. Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco try to count pinfalls after Dude Love takes Austin down with Mandible Claw only for both of them to be pulled out of the ring by The Undertaker, who choke slams them through commentary tables. Austin eventually hits the Stone Cold Stunner again and hits Vince's hand on the mat for the three count to get the win.
