Slamboree 1998 - The Results

We see footage from earlier today of Head of WCW Security Doug Dellinger outside of the arena and surrounded by fans, awaiting WWF owner Vince McMahon with a full access backstage pass in case Vince shows up.

Fit Finley retains the WCW World Television Championship against "The Crippler" Chris Benoit. During the match, Booker T shows up dressed up in a shirt, pants and a tie, distracting Benoit and allowing Finley to kick Benoit in the back of the head, seemingly knocking Benoit out until he is able to put Finley in a small package. It isn't enough to beat Finley, and Finley hits the Tombstone Piledriver to get the win.

Chris Jericho does an interview for WCWWrestling.com. He calls the cruiserweight battle royal for a #1 contender for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship and a shot to face him for it immediate afterwards a conspiracy against him by WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon.

Lex Luger beats Brian Adams with the Torture Rack after knocking Vincent off the apron.

Backstage, Saturn says there will be no gauntlet match, and if anyone in the Flock doesn't like it, they can take their anger out on him even though they know what he is capable of. When he came to WCW, he only trusted Raven to guide his career, and all he's heard is "What about me?" Saturn answers with "What about me? What about Saturn?" From now on, he takes care of himself, and tonight he starts with Goldberg. It's his opportunity to become United States Champion, and there's nothing anybody can do about it...not even Raven.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho shows up, calls David Penzer a dweeb who knows nothing about wrestling, and makes himself special guest ring announcer for the Cruiserweight Battle Royal. Notable introductions are for Silver King ("If he wins 12 more matches, he'll be promoted to Golden King"), El Dandy ("He is the winner of the Lou Ferrigno look-alike contest"), Lenny Lane ("I want my Loverboy tape back, Lenny Lane!") and Villano IV ("Representing Villanos I-LXII").

Ciclope wins the Cruiserweight Battle Royal after Juventud Guerrera wishes him luck and jumps out over the top rope. After the match, Ciclope unmasks and behind the mask is none other than Dean Malenko.

Dean Malenko beats Chris Jericho with the Texas Cloverleaf to win the WCW Cruiserweight Championship for a fourth time. Juventud Guerrera is seen cheering on Malenko during the match, having never left ringside after eliminating himself during the Cruiserweight Battle Royal. Malenko dedicates the win to his late father Boris Malenko after the match.

We see footage from the "Vinnie Mac Cam," where a white limo parks in front of the arena. Head of WCW Security Doug Delliner checks on the limo, then talks to another security officer out back.

Diamond Dallas Page beats Raven in a Bowery Death Match. During the match, referee Billy Silverman is knocked out, and Raven's Flock shows up. As Riggs breaks the lock to the cage door with bolt cutters, Hammer comes out from underneath the ring and nails Flock members with a stop sign, then handcuffs Reese to the guardrail. Two members of the riot squad come in and attack DDP, and they are none other than Kidman and Horace Boulder, who feel the bang of the Diamond Cutter. After a few Diamond Cutters - including one from Raven to DDP after a fire extinguisher shot to the head - DDP gets the win and almost immediately leaves through the crowd to celebrate. After the match, a member of the riot squad cuffs Sick Boy and Riggs to the cage, then gets in the cage to the handcuff Horace and Kidman. He then tosses Raven to the cage wall and attacks him some more before cuffing his other arm to the cage and removes his helmet to reveal himself as...Mortis, who hasn't been seen in month. He unmasks agains, this time taking his own mask off and yelling at Raven before attacking him with a steel chair. It is then revealed and realized by commentary that Mortis is the man who has worked in disguise as a member of the ring crew and as a food vendor in the last couple of months in an attempt to join Raven's Flock only to be rejected.

As WCW security uncuffs Raven's Flock, we see footage from the Vinnie Mac Cam, with WCW security checking to see if WWF owner Vince McMahon has snuck in somehow. We then see footage from the security cameras, but there is no sign of Vince.

Saturn answers questions for an interview on WCWWrestling.com. He says Goldberg squeaked past him, and that he is more prepared this time to take the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship from him.

Eddie Guerrero beats Ultimo Dragon. (Had Ultimo Dragon won, Chavo Guerrero Jr. would have been freed from his verbal agreement with Eddie.) During the match, Eddie Guerrero reverses the Dragon Sleeper into one of his own, and puts his feet on the ropes for leverage. Chavo Guerrero Jr. sends Eddie's feet off the ropes and argues with him, and Ultimo Dragon goes for a spinning wheel kick only to accidentally knock Chavo off the apron, allowing Eddie to take advantage. After the match, Chavo confronts Eddie, then snaps and attacks Ultimo Dragon. Eddie has to pull him off and slap him, and Chavo yells at him for costing him his out. Eddie gives him a shot at his face, but Chavo can't bring himself to do it.

We see the dressing room for WWF owner Vince "The Reason For The Ratings" McMahon, which is deemed a restricted area by World Championship Wrestlng.

Goldberg retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Saturn.

The Great American Bash is coming to pay-per-view on June 14th!

Eric Bischoff shows up for his match against WWF owner Vince McMahon, but McMahon does not. Bischoff says that McMahon will have to be counted out, as this is a sanctioned WCW/nWo event, and asks the crowd to do it together, as Bischoff was hoping McMahon would show up. Everyone - the crowd, Bischoff, the referee and even ring announcer Michael Buffer - counts together, and Eric Bischoff beats Vince McMahon by count-out.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart beats "Macho Man" Randy Savage with the Sharpshooter. During the match, Miss Elizabeth - who hasn't been seen in weeks - argues with Piper. Savage pushes Piper, who pushes back and tells him to fight Bret. Bret kicks Savage in the groin, then hits piper in the back of the head with a foreign object, which he is almost able to use on Savage before Savage blocks it and takes it away from him. Suddenly, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan shows up and goes for Savage's injured knee, allowing Bret to put Savage in the Sharpshooter to get the win as Piper removes the foreign object from around Savage's knuckles, believing that Savage was the one who hit him from behind and not Bret. Bret spits on Savage after the match. Also during the match, it is announced that Scott Hall is in the building and will be participating in the next match.

Scott Hall shows up for the first time in months with Kevin Nash and "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes as promised, wearing the red and black of the Wolfpac.

Sting and The Giant beat The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) to become the WCW World Tag Team Champions after Scott Hall takes one of the tag team belts and hits Kevin Nash in the back with it as he has The Giant ready for the Jackknife Power Bomb, betraying Nash and putting an end to The Outsiders. Sting stands on the apron in disbelief as Scott Hall embraces The Giant before placing his nWo Wolfpac tanktop on top of a downed Nash. The Giant tells Sting to make the right choice.
