Raw Deal - Raw recap for March 3, 1997

Before the opening match, Bret "The Hit Man" Hart says he has no choice but to stay focused in his match against Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and he says that Helmsley will be sorry he was in the ring with him tonight, as he hopes that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is watching from home as he will do to him what he will do to Helmsley tonight. Also, a Bret Hart teddy beat is thrown into the ring, and Helmsley kicks it into the audience. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seen walking into the WWF Studios in Stamford, Connecticut.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley beats Bret "The Hit Man" Hart by disqualification when Hart aggressively pushes the referee as he repeatedly kicks Helmsley in the tree of woe position. After the bell rings, the woman that attacked Marlena twice gets in the ring and challenges Bret Hart, but once again she is held by by officials. As officials take her to the back, Helmsley pushes one of the officials, telling him to get off of her.

We see footage from the European Championship Tournament in Chemnitz, Germany, where Vader eliminated Rocky Maivia for the tournament by reversing a top rope cross body.
,Br /> Rocky Maivia beats Vader by disqualification after Mankind shows up and attacks Rocky with Paul Bearer's urn. Rocky Maivia retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship, but it's not over for Vader as he attacks Rocky after the match until officials break it up.

The Sultan beats Flash Funk with the Camel Clutch. During the match, Vince McMahon interviews Jerry "The King" Lawler via telephone, and Lawler calls the invasion from Extreme Championship Wrestling last week's the lowest point of Raw's history. He is upset, and says that the WWF locker room is upset about this, too. Lawler then invites Paul E. Dangerously to Raw next week, and if he does show up, it will be war. Also, Paul E. Dangerously is interviewed via telephone. He thanks Vince for letting him showcase his talent before he scoffs at Lawler's opinion, saying that it is amazing that he would speak for all the wrestlers when his employer won't buy him a ticket to Berlin, Germany. He says that the next time Lawler challenges them, it may not be just at Raw, but it may also be at Madison Square Garden or in Philadephia, Pennsylvania.

Sycho Sid tells Mankind that he may have brushed up on German, but he should have brushed up on the game he players where two men enter and one man survives. Sid plans to make him a symbol of one of his main victories to WrestleMania.

Ahmed Johnson shows up and tells Faarooq that if he wants a piece of him at WrestleMania 13 in a street fight, he's got it...and he won't be alone this time. He says he will take Faarooq down for the fans.

Mankind has a message for Sycho Sid in German.

Sycho Sid retainst the WWF Championship against Mankind. During the match, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is interviewed by Vince McMahon live via satellite from WWF Studios. Austin says seeing Bret "The Hit Man" Hart whine on TV makes him violently ill, and says that if he's not whining quitting, and if he's not quitting, he's doing something else. Meanwhile, Option 6 of the WWF Superstar Line has big news on Ken Shamrock and Sable.

Vince McMahon interviews "Stone Cold" Steve Austin via satellite. Austin says the only remorse he has is that he didn't hit Bret "The Hit Man" Hart harder, and says that he should be the WWF Champion as he has no quit in him. He promises that he will not submit at WrestleMania 13 as he says that nobody can make him quit.

The British Bulldo gbeats Owen Hart by reversing a victory roll to become the inaugural WWF European Champion! Both men shake hands after the match.
