Raw Deal - Raw recap for February 24, 1997

The New Blackjacks (Blackjack Mulligan and Blackjack Bradshaw) beat The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) despite Phineas having his foot on the bottom rope. Another referee shows up to explain what happened, but the referee of the match refuses to change his mind and gets the Godwinn's bucket of slop poured on him as a result. During the match, UFC Champion Ken Shamrock is seen in the front row.

After the commercial break, The Eliminators (John Kronus and Perry Saturn) hit Total Elimination on a random guy in the ring. Paul E. Dangerously is seen getting in the ring and saying "Your challenge has been answered! ECW is in the house!" to a joyous Manhattan Center crowd. Extreme Championship Wrestling has taken over Raw.

After a second commercial break, Paul E. Dangerously introduces Little Guido of the Full Blooded Italians. The bWo - the Blue World Order (The Blue Guy, Big Stevie Cool, "Hollywood" Nova and 7-11), an ECW parody of - shows up as Paul E. Dangerously guests on commentary for part of the show. Big Stevie Cool tells Jerry "The King" Lawler that they have only three words for him: "We're taking over!" The Blue Guy tells Lawler "Say hello to The Blue Guy" before Little Guido gets the match started over. Raven shows up not long after the match begins. From the back, Goldust says he is the premiere in the WWF, and everyone else "is just B-movies." He says that Marlena is here to do her job 110%, and that he is here to watch her so that the mystery woman who attacked Marlena doesn't interfere in Marlena's arm wrestling match with Sunny.

Big Stevie Cool beats Little Guido.

Sunny says Marlena's ribs may be hurting, which makes her job a lot easier. She plans to make the arm wrestling match Marlena's final scene.

The Honky Tonk Man is in the ring to officiate the arm wrestling match between Marlena and Sunny. Sunny is introduced first, and she teases taking off her white robe to the crowd before taking it off entirely. When Marlena shows up, Sunny allows Marlena the opportunity to forfeit due to recent events. Marlena says she's glad to see that Sunny has "stopped working 42nd long enough to be with us tonight" and that while a forfeit would be smart for her, she would get off her deathbed before she would forfeit to Sunny. After several false starts from Sunny, the arm wrestling match happens at last, but Sunny cheats at the last second by throwing powder into Marlena's face. Savio Vega, who is now dressed very similarly to Faarooq and now wearing darker clothing, puts his hand on Marlena, but Goldust shows up and attacks Savio Vega, starting their match early.

Puerto Rican wrestling superstar Miguel Perez guests on commentary, bemoaning the man that Savio Vega has become after joining The Nation of Domination. Sunny is also ringside with the rest of The Nation of Domination.

Goldust beats Savio Vega by disqualification when Crush interferes. Miguel Perez jumps into the ring and fights off both Savio Vega and Crush after the match.

Next Monday, Raw is coming from Berlin, Germany.

We look back at Jerry "The King" Lawler's interview with Tiny Tim from the July 19, 1993 episode of Raw. Jerry "The King" Lawler then introduces Ken Shamrock, whom he interviews from the front row. Lawler talks about his background with Shamrock and how he taught him to become a champion, but it is obvious from Shamrock that Lawler is lying. Shamrock tells Lawler he doesn't know him as Lawler tells him to talk about how he taught him the submission holds he knows, then calls him a liar. Lawler walks away after that.

The 1997 Slammy Awards are taking place live on USA Network on Friday, March 21 at 11 PM Eastern, 10 PM Central. You can now cast your vote for who will win!

After the commercial break, Paul Heyman says "Man, has this show sucked without ECW or what?" He then introduces Mikey Whipwreck and Tazz. During the match, Faarooq says that tonight will be the same thing it is always been for him, and when he gets The Undertaker in the ring, The Undertaker will feel pain and need an undertaker of his own. He then tells Ahmed Johnson that he is not the streets and that he is running scared, and when he gets him in the ring at WrestleMania, he will feel his wrath. Shortly after the interviews with Faarooq, Sabu is seen jumping off the "R" in "Raw" on top of Tazz' security detail, but is quickly apprehended by the detail and taken to the back.

Tazz beats Mikey Whipwreck with the Tazzmission.

The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Hawk and Road Warrior Animal) make a surprise appearance to take on The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh). During the match, the pro-ECW crowd make several anti-WCW chants such as "Nitro sucks!", "Hogan sucks!" and "Bischoff sucks!" Also, on option 4 of the WWF Superstar Line, you can find out what brought the Legion of Doom back to the WWF and what impact their return will have on WrestleMania 13. With this announcement of the hottest news on the Superstar Line

The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Hawk and Road Warrior Animal) and The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) wrestle to a double count-out, even though it appears that The Legion of Doom have returned to the ring in time. After the match, Mosh is introduced to the Doomsday Device.

We see a music video of "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels.

Paul Heyman introduces D-Von Dudley, who is carrying a chair in the ring with Sign Guy Dudley. He also introduces D-Von Dudley's opponent, "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer, accompanied by Beulah McGillicutty.

"The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer beats D-Von Dudley after Beulah McGillicutty, whom both D-Von and Sign Guy Dudley get their hands on and bring into the ring, kicks D-Von in the crotch to allow Dreamer to hit D-Von with one last chair shot. During the match, Paul E. Dangerously and Jerry "The King" Lawler have a nasty argument on commentary in which Lawler heavily derides Extreme Championship Wrestling, with . In the back, The Undertaker says the march to WrestleMania with The Nation of Domination, who will all be laid aside. Also, the only thing standing between him and Sycho Sid is time. After the match, Buh-Buh Ray Dudley shows up to attack Dreamer from behind so he and D-on , and The Sandman comes out of the crowd to spit beer and celebrate only to be attacked by The Dudleys as well. The Sandman, however, fights back ECW-style, and stands tall in the ring with Dreamer. Paul E. Dangerously plugs Barely Legal, which is on pay-per-view on April 13th, then heads away from the commentary table only to turn back around and get after Lawler. Vince McMahon and the ECW locker room have to hold Paul E. and Lawler back.

Jerry "The King" Lawler angrily tells ECW to come back anytime, and that the next time he comes within inches of Paul E. Dangerously, he will shove his fist down his throat.

Ken Shamrock is interviewed again, this time by Todd Pettengill. Shamrock says he is enjoying himself tonight, then introduces his wife Tina and his father Bob. Shamrock then predicts that The Undertaker will win at WrestleMania 13, saying that he has a little more technique and balance. He also predicts that the submission match between Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will be a very close match, and that he can't pick between either guy. Pettengill then asks the crowd who will win, but the interview is cut short by the entrance of The Nation of Domination. Faarooq stares at Ken Shamrock for a few seconds, then raises his hand and cuts the music. Faarooq slams UFC, calling it "catfighting," and tells Shamrock that he is in the WWF, where cats grow up to be tigers. He tells Shamrock to get in the ring with him if he thinks he's a man. Shamrock calls Faarooq out on having The Nation around him at all times as well as The Nation for being a bunch of people who intimidates others, and calls the rest of The Nation "[Faarooq's] goons" as he tells Faarooq that a real man stands on his own two feet. He tells Faarooq that he has two left feet, and that if Vince wants to put something on the line, he'll gladly step in the ring as long as Faarooq keeps the rest of The Nation out of it.

The Undertaker beats Faarooq by disqualification after the rest of The Nation of Domination interferes. The Undertaker gets some unexpected assistance from The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Hawk and Road Warrior Animal) as the show ends.
