#DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) starts this week's show. They celebrate in the crowd one more time, then head to the ring. Before they can speak, The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) and Paul Ellering show up. Ellering says their prophecy of winning The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic has come true, but before he can finish, The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) show up. Not only do they desire to be back on top, they say The Authors of Pain won the Classic because of them. The Authors of Pain take offense to that and push The Revival to the ground. Ellering says that the next chapter will be written by The Authors of Pain: tag team champions.
"Showtime" Percy Watson returns to NXT, this time on the commentary table.
Before the next match, Eric Young stomps and spits on what is revealed to be Sawyer Fulton's jacket and throws it onto the entrance ramp.
SAnitY (Eric Young and Sawyer Fulton) beat No Way Jose and "The Outlandish" Rich Swann after Jose is shoved into the ring post by an unknown man, who is revealed by commentary to be Big Damo. Big Damo - named just "Damo" - takes Sawyer's jacket and slams it back on the entrance ramp.
NXT General Manager William Regal announces that onn January 11th, The Revival (Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson) will get their rematch for the tag team titles. After this, "The Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger shows up, wanting to leave NXT. Regal tells him that he and the NXT Universe believe in him, and that he has placed him in a four man tournament where the four winners will enter a Fatal Four-Way Match, where the winner will earn a shot at the NXT Championship. A relieved Dillinger accepts the challenge.
On the way backstage, Nikki Cross stare at the NXT Women's Championship...and meets Asuka. Nikki simply smiles along with Asuka before she leaves.
Ember Moon beats Kimber Lee.
We see the footage of the NXT Championship match from Osaka Japan, where "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura beat Samoa Joe to win the NXT Championship for a second time.
Samoa Joe gets another rematch for the NXT Championship against "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura, this time in a Steel Cage Match in Melbourne, Australia. The match will take place tomorrow night, and will air on next week's NXT.
Dario Cueto is in his office when Angelico shows up, wanting Johnny Mundo tonight, regardless of whether it is for the Lucha Underground Championship or not. Dario Cueto says that Mundo's lawyers have his hands tied, and Angelico threatens to lawyer up as well and put Dario through his desk. Dario Cueto tells Angelico he'll have to go through the Battle of the Bulls tournament to get a shot at Mundo. Angelico says he'll win the tournament, and when he does, Mundo won't need a lawyer...he'll need an undertaker.
Before the next match, Cage clobbers Famous B with a clothesline as Famous B introduces Dr. Wagner Jr., starting the first match of the night early.
Cage beats Texano, Joey Ryan and Dr. Wagner Jr. in a first-round Battle of the Bulls Tournament Match to go on to the next round.
Dario Cueto meets with Sexy Star in his office. Tonight, she gets a match against "The Darewolf" PJ Black. If she wins, she gets a Lucha Underground Championship match against Johnny Mundo without having to go through the Battle of the Bulls Tournament, and it will be in a steel cage match. If she loses, she will never get a shot at the Lucha Underground Championship again. Sexy Star says she has no problem with that, then tells Dario that he may have escaped his troubled past, but if he is not careful, he will have a troubled future.
Cortez Castro tells Captain Vasquez that Dario Cueto knows what they're doing. The Captain tells Castro that she trusts him more than the Detective, whom she admits is not the man she thought he was. Castro says his cover is blown, and that there is no way to go back, but Vasquez tells him that he can...he just has to go in deeper. When his arm heals, he will head back to the temple "a whole new man," as he will be wearing the mask that Captain Vasquez shows him.
Sexy Star beats "The Darewolf" PJ Black when Jack Evans tries to toss a baseball bat in the ring for PJ Black to use, only for the plan to backfire and Sexy Star to win with a schoolboy pin.
Kobra Moon sits on her throne. Millenia ago, her tribe was the home of the greatest warriors in the Aztec Empire, and their army was led by three of the most venomous, cold-blooded and deadly generals. But when the Great War broke out, they were defeated as one of their generals deserted them. The other two survived and served the royal bloodline, and for that, she is their queen. If the tribe is to return to prominence, she wants the man who was once a dragon brought back to her and made to yield before his queen. Two men, one with a snake's face and the other with a lizard's face, obey.
Matanza Cueto makes it clear to Dario Cueto that he wants Rey Mysterio Jr. When Dario tells him that El Dragon Azteca has returned after having his arm broken from being blinded by revenge and tells him that he hopes Matanza does not do the same, Matanza gently places his hand on Dario, then slams it into the cell door. He then takes the key to his cell from the floor...
The Mack beats Marty "The Moth" Martinez, El Dragon Azteca Jr. and Mil Muertes in a first-round Battle of the Bulls Tournament Match to go on to the next round after Matanza Cueto shows up without Dario Cueto and attacks El Dragon Azteca Jr. Dario Cueto shows up covering his head with a bloodied towel, and orders Matanza Cueto to come back, which Matanza does.
Renee and Dean Ambrose do some paddling as well as some balancing on water boards.
Backstage, Paige wants to get some more TV time, as she feels useless when she isn't doing anything.
Bryan picks some raspberries as Brie announces she has invited Nikki to spend the weekend with them. Brie knows that Bryan and Nikki have a complicated relationship where they bicker but then usually laugh, but after the house size argument from Total Bellas, they have not hung out since then, and Brie is worried. Bryan says he's okay with it as long as she doesn't criticize their house.
Eva Marie is taking with Nattie in gorilla position. Eva Marie still hasn't been booked yet, while Nattie is booked two months solid. Eva Marie finds Mark Carrano and asks what's going on, and finds out she's not part of the roster.
Nikki talks with mom Kathy at a restaurant, and tells her she's cleared to head back to the ring and feels like she really needs to get back in. She wants to ask Bryan to be her coach for her comeback. Also, the top of her shirt keeps popping out.
Nattie throws a going away party for Naomi that some of the other women of the WWE take part in. Paige shows up with Alberto Del Rio, who is her current boyfriend, and talks about how they hit it off, and says that this is the first time she's been completely smitten with someone. Nattie is surprised she has a new boyfriend so fast, as she didn't even know they were together.
Eva Marie heads to Maryse's house and head to the pool. Maryse is heading to Vancouver for the shoot for The Marine 4. Eva Marie asks Maryse for some advice on how to get back into TV, and Maryse tells her to head straight to TV and make sure she is seen all the time so she is not forgotten.
Brie and Nikki head to Aberdeen, Washington. Brie asks Nikki to rekindle her relationship with Bryan, and also asks her not to talk to Bryan about wrestling. Nikki says she wants to extend the olive branch...and she and Brie actually buy an olive tree.
Lana meets with Maryse, Nattie and Renee at a restaurant. Paige is invited, but has not shown. Everyone is worried about Paige, especially after Nattie saw her with Alberto Del Rio, as Nattie thinks her head is in a different place and Lana says that Paige has been heading to different places while on the road.
Brie and Nikki show Bryan the tree, which is actually an apple tree.
Renee talks with Lilian Garcia, who tells Renee that Paige is moving from Orlando to San Antonio to be with Alberto Del Rio. Renee gets more concerned with Paige than ever.
Renee meets Paige at catering. Paige just got her, and Renee offers to have a coffee with her later. Paige agrees.
Brie, Nikki and Bryan head to a local winery. Nikki asks Bryan to help him with her comeback, and Brie calls her aside, asking her not to talk to Bryan about wrestling. Nikki thinks Brie is being overprotective.
Eva Marie shows up at SmackDown, and meets with Maryse, taking her advice. Eva Marie talks with Brian James aka Road Dogg, and brings some ideas to him. Brian says he'll bring it up to the higher-ups, but can't make any guarantees she'll get booked.
Renee talks with Paige, asking what's going on with her concerning her recent confusing behavior. Paige tells Renee that she had a mental breakdown due to her feeling she's not really doing anything right now. Renee mentions Paige's moving to San Antonio, and tells her that people are concerned about her, especially since she's not telling anybody anything. Paige thinks that everyone is gossiping about her, and that nobody gives a crap about her except Renee. Paige says nobody else needs to know anything about her, since nobody knows her situation...and nobody deserves to know about it, either. She then storms off.
Renee talks with Lana about her conversation with Paige. Lana commends Renee for talking with her.
Eva Marie finds out she has a match tonight from one of the producers.
Bryan, Brie and Nikki go on a nature hike. Nikki feels awkward not being able to talk to Bryan about wrestling.
At the show, Paige has yet to appear, and Mark Carrano is looking for her. Renee is more concerned than ever.
Bryan, Brie and Nikki have a meal. Bryan asks Nikki about her comeback, and Nikki brings up Brie not allowing her to talk to him about wrestling. Bryan is confused about the whole thing, and Nikki walks out. Brie tells Bryan that she's trying to protect him from going back into depression, but Bryan says that should not have been an issue, as he is legitimately interested in Nikki's comeback. Bryan talks with Nikki, and tells her Brie is coming from a good place and that he wants her to do well. They both go back inside.
Eva Marie has her match with Nattie, and we see her new entrance idea in action.
Paige finally shows up at the show late after getting some personal time, knowing that she is trouble with Mark Carrano. Mark Carrano asks Paige to work with him, and asks her to look for people who care about her. He also asks her to be honest with him if she needs anything.
Bryan heads to a karate dojo with Brie and Nikki, and they help Nikkki with her comeback. Brie notices that Bryan is really happy right now, and realizes they would have bonded if she let Nikki talk to Bryan about wrestling in the first place.
Renee and Lana see Paige passing by. Renee tells Paige she's here for her. Paige says she feels insecure about what she's trying to do, and apologizes to Renee for blowing up on her. She tells Renee that if something's really bad, she'll tell her.
