Generation NXT - NXT recap for September 9, 2025

Je'Von Evans suddenly shows up and calls out Josh Briggs. Briggs shows up and a brawl soon begins as General Manager Ava makes the match happen right now.

Josh Briggs beats Je'Von Evans. During the match, Briggs tries to use a metal folding chair as a weapon only for Je'Von to kick it out of his hands. Briggs immediately pulls the chain from around his neck off and uses it as a weapon behind the referee's back to get the win.

Backstage, Oba Femi and Ricky Saints argues in front of General Manager Ava, who announces that next week, they will both be on The Grayson Waller Effect. Trick Williams shows up and finds out that things are in order, then tells Oba Femi that things are not over between them.

No Mercy is live on Netflix and Peacock on Saturday, September 27th!

#DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) are in the ring. Ciampa says that every time they step foot in an NXT ring feels special and feels like home, and that today is the tenth anniversary of #DIY teaming for the first time. Gargano says that he meant it when he said he was NXT for life despite being on the main roster and that NXT will always be their home. Ciampa felt that deep down, his last match in NXT would not be his absolute last match. As soon as Gargano mentions Trick Williams, Trick shows up. Trick admits #DIY got the best of them last week, but that only went down because #DIY is jealous because their NXT crew cannot hang with his. Ciampa dares Trick to get in the ring for another reminder, but Trick says he is not alone this time. Carmelo Hayes shows up, and says that while Trick has said things that are true, he has said things that are not. Carmelo reminds Trick that #DIY built the house that he claims he belt and that Trick is "squatting in our house" and that rent is due. This leads to a "You're a squatter" chant. Carmelo also refuses to be interrupted as he tells Trick to put his high heels at the door and sit down while OG's are talking. Trick says Carmelo is upset because of their history, then admits that it was not right of him to talk trash about him. He then squats where he wants to squat, he wears heels where he wants to wear heels, and that this is still his house. After Ciampa questions who is the big brother and the little brother between Trick and Carmelo, Carmelo takes offense to it and that #DIY should not be talking considering their history, but Gargano says the fans want a tag team match between them. Gargano then throws the challenge down for next week at NXT Homecoming.

Natalya is seen in the front row before the next match.

Lainey Reid beats Faby Apache to advance in the Women's Speed Championship Tournament after Natalya climbs over the barricade and distracts Faby as she goes for the Swanton Bomb, which she ends up missing after Lainey avoids it.

Backstage, Sol Ruca and Zaria talk about what Sol Ruca will do with three belts before Zaria says she needs this win tonight. Hank Walker and Tank Ledger show up and strike a conversation. Both teams tell each other to get some championship gold, and Tank says he and Hank have a secret weapon for DarkState (Dion lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin).

We see a vignette for Blake Monroe, which states that it is not over between her and Jordynne Grace and that Jordynne made a big mistake. Blake says Jordynne ruined everything, and while she was supposed to be clean and perfect, she is really cruel and merciless. She says Jordynne made her feel something and that instead of humbling her, she awakened her. Blake says that she will show Jordynne why she can make even the Devil blush and that she will see Jordynne in Hell.

DarkState (Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin) retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against Hank Walker and Tank Ledger despite the assist from Joe Hendry after Tank rolls Lennox up only for Osiris Griffin to reverse the roll-up.

We receive an explanation of the flag match in this week's NXT Focus.

We see a video from "NXT Anonymous" where Ethan Page speaks with Myles Borne, asking him how longer he will keep up with losing. Meanwhile, Lexis King mocks Myles Borne for losing to him in the locker room when Myles Borne shows up, turns the lights out and smacks Lexis with a chair before stating he is not done with him yet.

Tavion Heights beats "All Ego" Ethan Page in a Flag Match. After the match, Tavion drapes Ethan in the Canadian flag, then Tyler Breeze shows up and take a selfie of himself in front of a downed Ethan Page.

We see part two of an exclusive look at Lola Vice, where she returns to her father's taekwondo dojo and talks about how she had few close relationships while in an all-girls Catholic school. Meanwhile, Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, Jazmyn Nyx) are watching before their match. Jacy Jayne thinks little of Lola Vice and are more focused on winning the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships.

The Culling (Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley) beat the team of Sol Ruca and Zaria and Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx) in a WWE Women's Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders' Elimination Match. Sol Ruca and Zaria are eliminated after Sol Ruca goes for a Sol Snatcher on Tatum Paxley only to inadvertently hit Zaria instead. After the match, Jacy Jayne chews out Fallon and Jazmyn for embarrassing her for losing. As this goes on, some black SUVs show up outside of the arena.

After the commercial break, Jacy Jayne there is no way that they will be heading to NXT Homecoming and that the loss is on Fallon and Jazmyn. She says that she is tired of carrying them on her back and that she got to where she is on her own. Jacy says that the only person she ever needed was her and that she is the greatest NXT Women's Champion on her own whether anyone likes it or not. All of a sudden, Stephanie Vaquer shows up. Stephanie gives Jacy credit for beating her for the title, but she had the title along with the Women's North American Championship and she did it for herself. She says she will become champion again at Wrestlepalooza, and as Jacy Jayne says there are three of her and one of Stephanie, Stephanie brings out Tiffany Stratton. Tiffany says she is the longest-reigning champion right now and that she has beaten Fallon Henley before and that she also held the NXT Women's Championship. Jacy compares Tiffany and Stephanie to graduated seniors returning to high school to feel cool again before Rhea Ripley shows up. Rhea disagrees with Jacy's claim of being the greatest NXT Women's Champion of all time before challenging Fatal Influence (Jacy, Fallon, Jazmyn) to a six-woman tag match next week and quickly overpowering them in the ring.

Here are the highlights for tonight's show!
