Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown Live recap for August 9, 2016

The show begins with Randy Orton being interviewed by Charlie Caruso backstage, and it is announced he is facing Alberto Del Rio tonight. When asked how he is staying focused on Brock Lesnar, he says it only takes one RKO to enter Viperville. Alberto Del Rio shows up and calls Viperville a joke, and wishes him good luck with that when he has to do it with a broken arm.

Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan enter the ring. Bray says that he did not fall to Dolph Ziggler, and that he was a victim, but what Dolph does not know is that he is a god and that you can never kill a god, and that he can ask Dean Ambrose about that. He then tells both Dolph and Dean that this is his show, and there is no red, there is no blue, there is just him versus the world. Dean Ambrose shows up and calls Bray a baby for playing the victim, and says SmackDown Live belongs to the people. He is itching to get in the ring with Bray Wyatt when Dolph Ziggler show sup and does just that. This starts a brawl where Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan come out on top.

Backstage, Dean Ambrose tells Dolph Ziggler he didn't need his help, but Dolph says Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan jumped him last week. They are about to go at it when Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan show up and put them in a tag match against Wyatt and Rowan.

The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor), The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) and The Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley) watch the next match from ringside.

American Alpha (Jason Jordan) beat Mikey O'Shea and Mike Vega. After the match, The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor), The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) and The Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley) get in the ring and start a fight between the four teams, but American Alpha come out on top.

Renee Young interviews The Miz and Maryse, but we see a video package of Apollo Crews when it becoms evident that The Miz wants to steer the interview in the direction that he wants to steer it. When the video package is over, we see Miz and Maryse on the table kissing.

Becky Lynch vs. Eva Marie ends before it begins again when Eva Marie has a wardrobe malfunction. Becky Lynch wants a fight, and she wants a fight now. She issues an open challenge, and it is answered by Alexa Bliss, who wants to make an impact by knocking off SmackDown Live's first female draft pick.

Alexa Bliss beats Becky Lynch on her birthday - and SmackDown debut - after Eva Marie returns. After the match, Eva Marie tells Charlie Caruso she'll be ready to debut next week.

We look back on Brock Lesnar breaking The Undertaker's streak at WrestleMania 30 as part of WWE's advertisement for the new Ben-Hur movie.

Randy Orton beats Alberto Del Rio by disqualification after Del Rio hits Orton in the shoulder with a steel chair. Del Rio continues to beat up Orton after the match, but runs right into an RKO out of nowhere.

Heath Slater pleas with Rhyno to throw their match, saying he has two kids (or is that four?) and an above ground pool, but Rhyno says he can't help him out.

Earlier today, The Miz confronted Scooby-Doo for not putting him on the cover of Scooby-Doo and the Curse of the Speed Demon (out now on DVD and Blu-Ray), and said that if the covers weren't recalled, Scooby would be hearing from his lawyers. Scooby responded by pushing Miz into the Mystery Machine and stealing his car.

Rhyno beats Heath Slater after Rhyno goes Slater while he is arguing with the ref, who has caught him putting his feet on the top rope during the pin after evading the Gore the first time.

Bray Wyatt tells Erick Rowan to be ready to give his life for the Wyatt Family tonight...and to destroy.

We get a preview of Ben-Hur, coming to theaters August 19th.

Commissioner Shane McMahon and General Manager Daniel Bryan decide to give the contract to Heath Slater anyway...then Heath Slater says SmackDown Live doesn't deserve him.

Before the next match, Natalya runs down the ramp to attack Carmella, but Carmella sees her coming and gets the upper hand.

Carmella beats Natalya with the Code of Silence in her SmackDown debut.

Baron Corbin attacks Kalisto in the locker room, telling him that this is for costing him the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler beat Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan. Ambrose hits Ziggler with Dirty Deeds after the match.

Here are the top 10 moments from tonight's show!
